Darkerdemons Emalthya Darkerdemons lol Wow! Thanks for sharing all the interesting facts about Australian Christmas. The avatar certainly got some sparkle to it! Curious about the egg nog. I think the drink is typically served cold. At least, it's mostly a chilled beverage where I am - even though it can be served warm on occasion. Can't really imagine warm egg nog though. I like it fresh from the fridge. whee It's really supposed to be like a mulled thing with alcohol in it. Where I live now on the mainland, you can only find egg nogg in December if you make a deal with Satan, but where I grew up you could find it most of the year, as a milkshake flavour thing, no alcohol, we don't have it with alcohol in our family because... well mum doesn't like it with alcohol I guess and I don't drink alcohol. Yeah the extra glitter was meant to show snow fall... but maybe gives more credence to the 'electrocuted hallucination' possibility... xp Can't imagine alcohol in my eggnog either. I was wondering where you heard that eggnog is supposed to be mulled with alcohol. I know that the drink can vary from area to area and country to country, but the eggnog typical in my area is: - cold - alcohol free (unless adults want to add extra ingredients) - only available in December/January Oh! Look at that! I guess I was going off how when you read about egg nog in the older 19th century novels it's always warm XDD You have it with brandy. I mean, there's even an egg nog flavour which is eggnog with brandy but mum tried it and said she couldn't taste a different and I had a sniff and I couldn't smell any difference, and brandy has a distinct smell. Interesting how traditions morph and stuff. Nice XD

It may have been more popular warm in the past (or even in different areas of the world or among different families).

It may have been more popular warm in the past (or even in different areas of the world or among different families). I didn't get a defensive vibe from you at all, I was really surprised that eggnog was drunk cold everywhere ^^ It's not really something people talk much about, but I love learning why things are. Like a few years ago in the shop TRHQ there was a white elephant game and I won this spectacular piece of awesome and I had to ask all these people 'hey guys, I love him, he's spectacu-lacular, but wth is a pickle doing on my venusaur?' and I learned of the mysterious pickle which nobody really gets how it came to be a thing, all the explanations are false. I explained that to a friend of mine yesterday, as I say, I really like learning about traditions and reasons why and culture and stuff. You know, considering it's a perishable beverage in a time when refrigeration was not as easy as today, adding alcohol would have been the only way to keep the drink from going bad and people drank it hot maybe because brandy is drunk warm (that's why brandy glasses are shaped by that, so the drink is warmed by your hand) so it tastes better. <- Em, who does not drink, knows why the glass is that whackado shape, because interesting facts!

I may not drink whine, but my parents are kind of like wine connoisseurs (who also appreciate Cognac and Armagnac). You pick up a lot of interesting facts even if you don't drink. Champagne can only be called Champagne if it comes from the Champagne region of France. emotion_awesome

Username: xAdelienx Avatar Image or Link: 3-4 Sentence Avatar Story (optional): "Hehe...a little help will be the best at the moment." Ade said to the person present in front of him as he is tangled up in lights. This year Ade decided to get into the Christmas spirit though he never thought it would be so much work or this dangerous. Forgetting he is under the mistletoe the person decided to plan a big kiss than actually helping the poor constantly morphing star. Ade was just in shocked just uttering the word, "Umm..." as he not exactly complaining though the help is still needed, as the person left leaving him still tangled up. What a wonderful cruel thing to do.
