Echoing in her thinkpan, the distant scream of a familiar voice disturbed the shadows. Weakly, she latched onto it, though the voice fell through the cracks of her fingers, wisping away from her and vanished. Try as she might, it escaped her conscious.
Too tired... can't... reach...

Health: 22 Military Weapon +1 Eagle Eyes: 3/3 Grandmaster Leadership, Novice Covert Ops, Training Academics Kursha saw the yellowblood too late. In less then a second he had dropped his rifle and rushed to her side. Her leg was mangled—thankfully her artificial one—and blood dribbled from her nose and mouth. Her eyes were closed and her breathing shallow. “Hey... Hey, Eli-bug!” He patted her face a few times, trying to jostle her back into wakefulness. When she did not respond, he slapped her across the cheek. “C'mon, get the ******** up!”It wasn't working. He relented, hands falling to his side and shoulders drooping. Seconds ticked past. Then a minute. Kursha shifted his legs beneath him, and pressed the balls of his feet into the floor. Gently, he scooped the yellowblood into his arms. “We don't quit 'til we're done.”At some point he picked his rifle back up again. [ Kursha restores 6 health. ]

She really was pathetic.
But she bit her tongue, listened to Kursha, and pushed herself back up stiffly. There was something strange to her gait. She had a million and one things to say to the greenblood, but instead she kept her words to herself. Don't poke the fire, Sarcel, this was consequence enough already.
She turned to Lorata with a cold, but worried expression.

Lorata gets back up

Lorata stared across at Elidae for a long, long moment, not sure what to think. This wasn't something she had factored into the story, although after the ladder she should have known better. What was it she'd told Eiylas? Heroes bleed. She closed her eyes, compartmentalized it as she listened to Kursha speak, and was decided even before he finished.
Using her partisan as a crutch, she pushed herself to her feet.

Lorata keeps walking, got heroing to do.
"We can't just stop here." Lorata announced, standing straighter now that she felt steady enough to do so. She looked at Sarcel a moment, then away, down the corridor ahead. She didn't know how far they were from their target, or how many zombies would stand in their way, but this was no different than the time she'd had to leave the Sirens for the chance to save them. The flagship was its own ticking time bomb.
"I'm going to keep going."

He should have been there for her. He should have been paying attention. Focussed on the mission. It had been a while since he felt such acute self-loathing. “Make sure that copy of that goes back with us.”[ Kursha advances the team. ]

Lorata checks corridor
The open door was a nice respite from the fighting, but then every empty room usually was. With any luck, the team would find some supplies to help them along the way, something for Elidae to wake her back up, something- But no. There was only a monitor and a video that...she wasn't quite sure what to make of. It felt like she missing something.
Shaking off the thought, she moved out into the corridor.

The screen flickers with a video...Quote: The image is a little fuzzy, but you can barely make out what's on screen. It's a shot of one of the flagship's cafeterias. It's empty, and the flooding red emergency lights cast an eerie glow. The audio is in tact. You can hear shouting, the firing of weapons, and the clashing of metal from outside the cafeteria. The video feed continues like this for another few minutes. Then, suddenly, a large boom strains out of the speakers- they crackle with effort. The shouting gets louder. There's a strange rumbling sound you can't quite recognize. Flames burst through the cafeteria doors, exploding with catastrophic force throughout the room. The camera feed goes black.
You turn the video off.

Sarcel looked at... the shadows moving ahead of them. She'd never seen this many daywalkers in one place. Suddenly her stomach dropped, her palms became increasingly sweaty under her gloves. She was wiping the blood from her nose and smearing it across her cheek.
"There's, there's--" Her eyes were scanning rapidly, "Ten, no-- thirty, fifty..."
The number kept climbing. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time to finish guesstimating.
"We die for Alternia, we bleed for Alternia." She said poignantly.

He wanted vengeance. Kursha placed the yellowblood further back in the hall behind the others, before drawing his rifle. He gave his shoulders a quick roll to loosen up the joints. He had time before the horde reached them. The rifle settled against his right shoulder. “Careful not to let yourself get surrounded,” he said, with a quick glance towards the seadweller. Her weapon gave her enough reach to pick them off from a distance, but if they pressed in too close she would be vulnerable. [ Kursha does 12 damage. 52 zombies remain. ]

There were so many...Everytime Lorata thought that things couldn't get worse with the daywalkers, things intensified somehow. Just how many trolls had died on this ship? Just how much was she still underestimating the size of it? And how many teams going in today would be joining the numbers of the dead?

Not that Lorata couldn't, but she wasn't looking the best.

He did not respond to the blueblood however, and instead began to line up his shots. He needed to take out as many as possible before the full strength of the horde reached them. There was an easy solution. Fishing out a couple of rounds painted bright red from his jacket, Kursha loaded them into the chamber. Once he had it locked back in place, he took aim towards the thickest part of the horde. A second later, the gun fired, and fiery explosion roared out in the middle of the throng. [ Kursha does 13 damage. 33 zombies remain. ]
