Scorpa felt like she was starting to sweat. Concerned about her make up, she paused, figuring the others could handle things, and pulled out a compact mirror. Checking that nothing had melted terribly wrong, she decided to powder her face quickly and redo the rest of it later. Nghhh she kind of wanted to touch up her eyeliner a bit. Just a little wouldn't hurt, right?
"Be right with you! Just a second!" The yellowblood called to the others, pulling out an eyeliner pen and getting to work!
Lorata's puzzled look turned to complete understanding as Scorpa pulled out a compact mirror. "No problem! I'll keep them off you!" Stepping forward to block any daywalker from getting close while Scorpa tended to her makeup, she swept her partisan out defensively. She could be a shield too. That was heroic.

"Scorpa, you look so good!" Flydra didn't seem bothered by the girl's sudden pause in the middle of battle to reapply her war paint. It was honestly not that uncommon for the glamorous Civisect City Sirens. And as part of SHEshell, Scorpa had to look good at all times. She beamed and turned to punch another zombie in the face. Flydra grabbed another one and repeated the action, her prosthetic shooting a set of needles into the monster at point blank range as well. After this, maybe they all ought to touch up their faces.
"Can you do mine afterwards? We should all fix ourselves up a little. You too, Buffel." She remarked. It was unclear if she meant he deserved a breather or if he was going to get some killer cateye eye liner going on.
Buffel gaped silently as the girls took steps to allow Scorpa to touch up her face a bit. He shook his head thinking to himself, Sakes alive, these royalist-types really got a thing about appearances, don't they?
At Flydra's adding him to the list in need of a touch-up though, he chuckled as he untucked the laser gun from his shoulder to respond.”That's fine by me, but yer not converin' up the scar, it's part o' my rugged charm after all.” A shambling corpse moved forward and Buffel made sure to check his finger-chamber before confidently putting his finger gently to the creature's temple.
”'Scuse me, Old Timer. I'm havin' a chat with these ladies, could you hold this fer a moment?”

"Thank you!" Scorpa grinned, finishing things off. One more pout to the mirror to check her lipstick and she was complete again! Flashing Lorata a grateful smile as well, Scorpa was so glad she'd come on this mission with her girls. They always knew what she needed and were willing to help her out! She hoped they found her just as helpful!
"Of course, hon! C'mere!" Scorpa pulled out her second make-up palette. She always carried one for her and one for Flydra. The doctor was incredibly talented but sometimes needed help with the fashion side of things. Not because she lacked taste or skill, just she wasn't always able to keep up to date with the current trends with so much medical research and studying to do! Plus Scorpa knew it was one of the rare times someone fawned over her and everyone deserved to get fussed over a little! Reapplying Flydra's face quickly, she added a little diamond to her check near her eye like a beauty mark.
"Alright, you're next!" Scorpa grabbed Buffel's shoulder and pulled him closer. Lorata was generally capable of doing her own make up and Scorpa didn't want to presume she needed help over this pale naked face right here! She threw as much as she could onto him, until he pulled away and she couldn't continue.
Lorata marched down yet another corridor, sighing at the walls of the ships. Why couldn't there be a sign with directions to the control room? Or a map with a convenient 'you are here'? Or a tour guide who had survived all these years because dwindling crew mates meant a surplus of food supply? There was a loud groan at that one, and she looked up to find a whole horde of trolls who hadn't survived long enough to be useful.

Flydra is counting zombies how many zombies? 18!!! so excite!

"Lorata, I want one. Please." Flydra hugged her dear seadweller friend from the side, pleading with the princess to help capture one. The highblood had been destroying the monsters left and right. The tealblood knew logically that transporting one back would be incredibly difficult and unsafe but she couldn't help but want to try. There were just so many! Almost twenty of them shuffled down the corridor towards the group.
Buffel had almost sneezed the powder Scorpa had applied to his face right back onto her, but his desire to stay gentlemanly allowed him to persevere through it. He'd hoped he wasn't blushing too hard as she held his face up to her's to get it just right, and as he squirmed away he mentally kicked himself for gettin' so squeamish around Scorpa of all people. As the zombies came forth, Buffel again went to fire upon them, only to hear the familiar failure of the bullets after the first two shots. Which seemed just as well, as Flydra seemed determined to capture one, and something about the way she whined made Buffel want to be the one who nabbed it. ”That can be arranged, Fly! Lemme just stun this here miscreant with the laser gun and I'll hog- tie h-” His voice was cut off as the loud and powerful blast from the laser gun made contact with the creature, practically vaporizing it's entire body.
Buffel stared dumbly at the ash pile on the floor, before offering, ”Er, how about you nab one Scorpa. If not a whole body maybe we can just take a head and keep it alive, how 'bout?”

Scorpa was no stranger to Flydra's begging, she'd seen her do this before. That didn't mean she was immune to it though.
"Aww, it's okay Flydra. We'll get one for you! Right?" The yellowblood replied, reaching over to grab one of the approaching zombies. It had decayed a little past Scorpa-proof stage though and as she yanked it over, the thing's head rattled off and it went limp in her grasp.
"I don't know if it's a good idea to capture one right now," Lorata said doubtfully, already weaving a path of destruction through the horde. She didn't even know if there was space for one in their vessel to be honest. "Why don't we catch you a nice fresh one on Alternia later?"

Flydra is advancing down a corridor 9/16 advances 1/3 minibosses defeated
"Okayyyy..." Flydra could not really debate Lorata's point. There certainly were a lot of daywalkers on Alternia to choose from. But these ones were special because they came from so long ago. It was exciting to think they daywalkers had survived so long. What if they had unique samples to get? The ones back home didn't tend to 'live' that long. She stalked down another corridor to look for the control room again.
The yellowblood kicked himself for not recognizing the type of ammo the laser gun was packing. Poor Flydra looked pretty upset about not getting a sample of the beasts. He stared at the now empty rifle. There was no way he was going to just let this thing rot on a ship for the rest of time, or worse, have the military re-pilfer it when they came to collect the ship. He attached it to the clamp on his side and kept moving, his head in such a whirl he almost didn't notice the familiar shambling noise approaching all too quickly after their last fight.

"Look, here comes some more!" Scorpa cheered, trying to boost Flydra's bummed spirits. They'd killed the last batch because they hadn't been up to par. Maybe this oncoming one would be better! She looked to Lorata to see her opinion of them, she was always the best at appraising things!
"These are no good either," Lorata decided, before Flydra could think to ask again. She didn't know how far they were from the control room and she didn't want to deal with carrying the thing either. Decided, she launched into yet another attack. If nothing else, she was getting to be very efficient at killing zombies.

"Fine." Flydra nodded in response to Lorata but still looked bummed out by the dismissal. She took Scorpa's arm and lead the group down another hallway. She was getting a little depressed at how many zombies there were that she couldn't have. Her legs were starting to hurt as well from all the running away from getting mauled. It was frustrating they couldn't have brought more weapons along to just flamethrower some of these mobs.
