While space may look empty to a troll's vision clots, but research has shown that there are forms of radiation emanating through the cosmos. In our own solar system, the solar wind, made up of plasma and other particles from the sun, or as juggalos like to say, "made of miracles", permeates past the planets and occasionally causes aurora near the planet's poles. Cosmic rays also fly through the neighborhood, emanating from supernovas outside of the solar system. Alternia's "northern lights" were beautiful, and another reminder of how trolls and space used to be so inter connected.

As soon as Etsali called for help, Ephias was off like a shot. He tore down the corridor, shears drawn.* He rounded a corner, and the undead came into view. Without a thought, Ephias barrelled into him. He managed to stay standing for all of three seconds, before they dog-piled him, and he went down.

*Don't run with scissors!

When the skirmish finished, Ephias got to his feet. He picked some of the meat bits off his suit. Up close the stench was nauseating. How many more were there? As the group once again recollected themselves, Ephias peered down a hall. The corridor was blocked with debris.

“Nothing down that way,” he said.

One large feature of space that is poorly seen or understood, even by Static's keen eye, is the supposed presence of dark matter and dark energy, The boy often wondered how those energies worked with his own power. His was electricity, but it was essentially just another method of transferring energy. Dark matter, which is essentially a form of matter and energy, must be able to move and travel in its own way.

While Static was walking down the corridors, he could not help but think about things. Like conversations he had had, which had involved deep-sounding but meaningless word combinations such as “the very fabric of space-time itself is a physical manifestation of quantum entropy concepts woven together by the universal nature of location.” It sounded nice, sure, but what did it really mean when you were shot out of a ship into the wild unknown?

3 Zombies

Static sighed. More zombies. This had been a very, very exhausting first mission. They were really throwing the green ones right into the Frey. Well, static had to prove himself, and so he would! The blueblood wanted to be something, someone in the military. He needed this. Not just to show up Raijin. So with that in mind, the blueblood readied his weapon for the oncoming undead.

More daywalkers. He should have guessed. His body moved automatically at this point, ducking and weaving the the hordes with little effort. The shears were in perpetual motion, as one swing carried into another. The others seemed to have settled into a rhythm of their own as well, cutting down the horde within a matter of seconds.

Engrav could feel it. They ware almost finished exploring the ship. Just one more darkened corridor, maybe a room full of electronics he could take a look at once they were safe. He pointed down a corridor, led to group towards where his gut told him the exit was. Not much longer now.

The lights flickered as the group advanced, then when out with a dull thud. Only the red reservelights of the derelict remained, making everything look as though it had been washed in rust-blood. Engrav shivered, and continued onward. Wait.

"This can't be right."

The rest of the ship was closed off, a mess of metal and wreckage that no amount of force was going to be able to get them through. Engrav shook his head, thought for a second. Maybe if... no, there weren't any other doors. This was as far as they could go.

He almost missed the growling as a final pack of drinkers came from behind the group, boxing them into the passage.

Engrav turned as the horde shambled closer. He pulled his hands from his pockets, and got in a battle-ready position. He could feel the other trolls near him doing the same in the dim red light as the rainbow drinkers closed.

Gog, they stank. Engrav nearly gagged, but managed to keep himself together. Their backs were against the wall now, literally.

“It's all right,” Ephias said through grit teeth, as he wrestled with a daywalker. “There's more ships. We're b-bound to find something.” He pushed the zombie away and quickly speared it through the middle. He refused to be disappointed. He had waited too long to get this far. One setback did not mean their mission had been a failure. The redblood wrenched his shears free, as the rest of the daywalkers surged forwards. This was just the beginning.
