Quote: 6 - You come across some shuffling bodies...! "I'm glad..." Nahori muttered at Buffel's reassurance, not because she cared whether he was 'useful' in a fight, but because she didn't want him to get hurt wrestling with malfunctioning tech. Whoever built that arm, she hoped they'd fix it right this time!
Joining him in the next room, she grabbed one of the shields. "These are kind of strange, huh...?" she commented, though she felt relieved for the extra protection. She smiled at him. "Thank you, Buffel..."
Then she turned to Sarcel, "Yes, sir."

It felt like nothing more than stepping back into the hall—without warning, they were blocked in on both sides by yet more daywalkers. It really was unusual to see so many undead on a ship of this size. Sarcel had mentioned the same thing, too. "There's..." Nahori looked back and forth. "Twelve...?"

”Aw, hell!”Buffel smacked his arm repeatedly, hoping it would work this time. After one particularly swift hit, his palm began to slide of its own accord. His fingers curled deep into his hand and locked in place, the thumb arching back until his entire hand resembled a revolver in shape. ”Well hey now, this is somethin' new. Let's see what this new toy can do!”Aiming at the hallways before him, his hand rested in a familiar position over his thumb/trigger. For a flash, his quickshot skills were back, and he pulled the trigger in amazingly quick succession. One, two, three, four shots all hitting their marks. His first smile borne of fun in a good long while spread across the yellowblood's face as he adeptly shot down half of the shambling horde. The Gunslinger was back. HP: 14/20 (Shield: 4/5)

Quote: 10/10 advancements 0 zambos left See? A little bit of praise went a long way, at least in Sarcel's mind. She still didn't give it out when it wasn't due, but she could sense the resolve in both of these lowbloods, as shaky as their nerves seemed to be. Buffel seemed more put together than Nahori at least, but Nahori had far more to lose. The yellowblood had his bearings if his shot was anything to go by, each strike hitting its mark one after another. Take notes Caviap.
Sarcel rushed in once Buffel was done firing (an accidental bullet in the back of her calf wasn't really something she was looking for), her fist poised to punch, or maybe her momentum poised to kick, but either way it wouldn't matter. She seemed out in the open, too open, like she was leaving way too much to chance and--
The hoard (what was left of it) moved in for an easy strike. The exception was when Sarcel seemed to vanish out of thin air.
There was a flurry of footsteps before the blueblood reappeared behind the group, her eyes lit up with the rush of the fight, her hand poised over the knuckles of her other curled fist. She didn't punch them. She just tapped the pressure plate, the buckshot hitting its mark at a point blank range. The already decayed corpses didn't really stand a chance.
The barrel of her gun smoked.
Poor unfortunate bastards. At least they could rest now, not that they were even cognizant anymore. "Caviap, Obille, fall in line behind me." Her eyes were no longer on the motionless corpses, but on the path ahead, "I believe we've just about made it. We'll have to assess the damage of the ship and determine if it's a candidate for salvaging. If not--"
She produced some black objects from her coat pocket. Highly explosive. Does the job well.

Quote: You come across a sealed door in the hallway. Trying to open it sends dozens of warnings flickering up on previously-dormant panels. It seems the ship beyond here is too heavily damaged to allow you to pass through. Headquarters confirms the ship is to be destroyed, and you retreat to the exit, leaving the small black boxes containing deadly explosives in key positions along the path. Congratulations! You have completed your mission and returned back to the docking area! Squad commanders, be sure to report in! "T-That..." There was that stutter again, but Nahori didn't look or sound nervous. "That was amazing!" Both of them had taken out the daywalkers like it was nothing—with such flare. She knew it hadn't been effortless, they'd both put in the work, but it was impressive regardless.
Gathering her wits and taking a deep breath, she eyed the explosives in Sarcel's hand only a moment later. The last thing she honestly wanted to do was blow up the ship they were on, that was a scary thought, but if that's what it came to...
Unfortunately, that's what it would come to.
The next door Nahori tried to open wouldn't budge, and the moment she'd put the smallest weight on it, alarms rang out, shrill and frightening, all over the ship. They were warnings. It was only moments later they received the order—destroy the ship.
"I guess... this is it," she muttered, taking some of the explosives in her faintly shaking hands. Time to blow this popsicle stand. Literally.
