September 24th, 2019: Lanzer Bakura Amane Games/Specifically AquariumQuestion: Are we going to see any improvements to the Flash Games any time soon? Because flash is no longer supported by Adobe, we won't be making changes to the current flash games, any new development will be done in HTML5 and we will start concerting certain flash games to HTML5 one by one. Although Aquarium might take longer as it has a lot of assets that were made in Flash. We could potentially migrate everything to Unity when the time comes, but that'll be further down the road.

October 1st, 2019: Lanzer Slow Boys SITE-IN-GENERALWhat is your plan for the phase-out of flash in 2020? We are putting together resources to convert some of the current Flash games to HTML5, meanwhile, there should still be some options to play the flash games on Gaia. We are also looking into having flash support through any stand alone applications, and potentially porting games like zOMG to its own flash app too. Browsers do not like Flash because the platform is prone to bad flash apps that create security exploits, blocking support on those apps at the expense of all other flash applications that are complete safe to run such as Gaia's flash apps, which is unfortunate. Some games such as Towns are fairly easy to convert to HTML5, which is what we will do. However others such as Aquarium and zOMG have a lot of animations unique to Flash, and cannot be converted to HTML5 directly. We're hoping to make those games run outside of a browser.

October 22nd, 2019: Lanzer SL33PY X3 features: cars / aquarium any chance these can be made html5 or just html so users can use them again, there essentially no longer useable at the moment Unfortunately Aquarium is not likely to get an HTML5 treatment since all the fishes are animated in Flash and it won't work in HTML5 easily. Cars uses a simplier system, will look into it on a later time. First we need to release the HTML5 version of Towns.

November 19th, 2019: Lanzer bunny12391 GamesAre there plans to update the games away from flash? We're in the process of getting some help in converting some of the flash games. It's taking longer as resources are tight, but we do want Towns and Fishing to be in HTMl5 ASAP.

November 26th, 2019: Lanzer lordsonichero GamesQuestion whats gonna happen to zomg after flash gets canceled? I've been looking into making zOMG it's own app so it won't need to run inside a browser. There should be SWF file players available too.

December 3rd, 2019: Lanzer chollaflower Games There are some of us here who just love the Fishing docks above all else. Considering the Flashpocalypse at the end of next year, has there been an update on when Fishing might be changed over to an HTML 5 edition? We're working with a few contractors to convert the game to HTML5. Hope to have it ready sooner than later, but finishing is one of those games that are high on our radar. Lanzer LadyAssassin11 Games Flash games are still inaccessible to me on 2 devices across 4 browsers with and without adblock. Flash is fully up to date. Is this a site-wide issue? If so, when can we expect to see this piece of the site functional again? If it helps, chrome brower displays Uh oh! Loos like Flash is not enabled on Google Chrome Right click on the link below and copy this URL: chrome://flags/#enable-ephemeral-flash-permission Then paste this URL to the address bar and Disable Ephemeral Flash Permissions This way Chrome will remember your settings.
Which is a non functional link to a defunct chrome experiment, and flash, once force enabled (must be done every time) allows progression to a screen displaying : ALERT Server security error. OK
which is the error encountered on all other browsers Thank you for your time. Devices used: 2017 dell laptop and 2018 hp desktop I had been hearing about this issue but have not been able to replicate it in our office and in our homes. If it's okay I'd like to PM you later to do some troubleshooting on the issue. Hope to get to the bottom of this error.

December 10th, 2019: Lanzer Violent Clique Features. Any updates on what's going to happen to flash spaces when flash has gone? Is there an update on towns 3? Or will Gaia be strictly forum based? We're gonna work with a contracting team to finish the work in converting Towns 3 to HTML5. Resources are tight so things are taking longer to do than expected. Some other games will follow, but there will be some games that will face sunset as we can't convert everything by end of 2020. Lanzer o~Angelin~o GamesHello! Now that the end of 2019 is coming and it has been mentioned that in 2020 Flash will stop working. Have you found of other ways to keep the games running? This topic has been mentioned a lot at the exchange, and people are worried that if games are taken away that it will also mean that more people will start leaving Gaia. Which mostly for me would be a pretty sad thing since I have been here since 2003. (This is my second account.) We do hope that there will be some browsers that are willing to run the older flash plug-ins, but regardless, we have plans to port towns and some of the more popular flash games to HTML5 so they will be available on both web and mobile. We will place more focus on that in the coming months.

December 30th, 2019: Lanzer tetsiga2245 GAMESI understand Flash is the biggest problem with games and I cannot offer a constructive solution on how to fix it. I just wanted these concerns to be heard by the ones who have the ability to make a change. Thank you. Flash games had been a big topic of discussion for the past year and we do have plans to port the most popular games onto HTML5. We are starting with Towns and will have an HTML5 version soon. Probably fishing is next, and we will go down the list to see which games should be ported over. Unfortunately there are other things such as events and site maintenance that preceded the priority for migrating flash games, but we are working on it.

January 7th, 2020: Lanzer Castiel Lover GamesWith flash ending this year, have you considered making the most of your time in remaking games by turning them into the holiday events this year? For example, the Summer event could be on Fishing 2.0, with achievments for certain tasks during the event (and new achievements over all for the game), and prize grab bags that can be fished. We will start working on Towns ASAP, but I do love your idea of making Fishing the theme for this summer event. Thank you!

January 21st, 2020: Lanzer SilverStar_Karuminu Games/FeaturesWhat's going to happen to all the flash based games and features when Adobe is gone? Will they be safe? We are converting some flash features such as towns and fishing to html 5, otherwise we are working on getting more resources to either convert other existing games or add new games to Gaia. There is also a high chance that some browsers will support the existing/old adobe flash plug-ins, but that haven't been confirmed yet as the support from Chome/Firefox haven't terminated yet.

February 4th, 2020: Lanzer Captain Damnit GamesI have no doubt this has been asked before and I apologize for the repeat but hope you answer. Is revamping the games (including towns and such) to work on a platform that is not flash a priority? I really feel if they weren't broken, people would play them and kickstart having people come back - hopefully. Yes, converting current flash games to HTML5 is a priority for us, and Codemonkey is back making Towns 3, and other games after this. Progress had been slower than we'd like but we definitely want to be able to play some of these games on future browsers as well as on mobile devices.

February 25th, 2020: Lanzer Nekocake GamesI apologize if this has been addressed before but if so I missed it. With the impending discontinuation of all adobe flash support at the end of the year, is the staff planning to convert the older games such as fishing and jigsaw over to HTML, or are we looking at those being discontinued along with flash? Right after Towns 3 we will be re-working exiting games starting with Gaia Fishing!

March 10th, 2020: Lanzer Yen Quest Question Category: FeaturesI couldn't access the OLD OLD OLD OLD Inventory Arranger. There's a pop-up saying that I am not logged in, and it won't accept the fact that I'm actually logged in (something about transmitting failure). I know the day would come when Flash goes away (I still have frozen Aquarium items I need to get rid of, but anyway-), does that mean the old arranger is officially dead? I didn't know that the old arranger isn't working. I'll look into it and hopefully it'll be a easy fix. If the current arranger cannot move frozen aquarium items then I should be fixing that too.

April 7th, 2020: [NPC] Gaia Staff Welcome Back! Quote: GamesWill zOMG! Be Available On Mobile Devices? Unfortunately no. The amount of engineering required for zOMG client is too big of a project to bring to mobile devices. codemonkey37179 My Styles Of Poetry GamesWhat is going to happen to flash games on Gaia when Flash Player goes away this year? Is fishing, zOMG! and Aquariums done too? I'm sure this was answered before but I missed it. Whatever can be changed to HTML5 will be. This will mean cloning some games, replacing some games with something else, and unfortunately sunsetting some games.

April 14th, 2020: Lanzer MechWarrior Princess M ItemsIs converting Astra Items from Flash to whatever on the to-do list? Thanks! Unfortunately no. HTML5 dosen't really support the types of effects that Flash can handle without making a very large image size. An option is to have something like a unity plug-in, but that's further down the road.
