Unvanquished
*In the moonlight, he rotates his sword, smoothly tracing a circle while focusing on the blade.*

"Your focus is good. Now link to the energy."

"Yes, sir."

*Exhaling deeply, he continues the motions, but this time exerts his own energy on his focus; the blade. His eyes narrow as he tries to maintain a steady flow, in sync with his focus.*

"They're forming. Almost there."

Lesson Two: Reflection of the Moon

Now that you have learned the two basic arts, now its time to get interesting. This technique is Mirror Force and the way it work is this. You start off with Shield and just like Shield, it's a defensive tactic. But here's where the difference comes in. As soon as the attack is blocked, you must push the energy forward in an offensive move. This will create a wave of energy that will hit your opponent unexpectedly. It's a tricky move, for several reasons. First, it has to be timed a second after the attack hits the lightsword, no later. Second, this will demand a bit more energy and focus on your part so it might take a while to learn it. You may find yourself wanting to use this technique in battle often, but as I said earlier, it takes more energy than Shield, so use it sparringly, at least until you fully master it.

Assignment: Use Mirror Force against attack

Unvanquished had the beginnings. It was all about control now...
He began to steadilly increase the amount of energy he was focusing into the blade. At first, he stuggled to maintain consistancy, but he soon smoothed out the flow.

*Lightswords form steadily*

"Hm. Five swords, like Emokid. Good work. You are ready for the next lesson, Shield."

"Hehe sry this is the first form that ive learned here so um yea i dotn think i should yet but ill give it a try." i get ready and unsheath my kodachis

"Hm. Unvanquished, you have yet to learn any of the techniques aside from the standard Lunar Aura. But since you have been watching the lessons up to this point, consider this a way of catching up.

During this spar, I want you to work on Shield and Strike by watching Emokid. This will allow Emokid to practice the techniques and you to learn them. Learning on the fly is not as tranquil, but it usual works. Also, Emokid, you will effort to learn Mirror Force through this.

Go for it, you two."

"Yes Master but would you happen to have wooden Kodachis that i could use." i bow to Master Xaiamut

"Yessir," said Unvanquished, giving a slight bow.

He stepped back and began to dig through a shoulder-bag that he had brought in with him. He removed a shinai (traditional bamboo sparring sword) along with pairs of shin and forearm guards.

This way, even if my lightswords fail to perform, I can fall back on my martial styles... he thought to himself, strapping the guards on.

He then readied his stance. One leg was a short step behind the other, both facing foward. He held the shinai in one hand, held veritically. His free hand formed a half-open fist in front of his face, on the defensive. It was a standard Japanese Ju-jitsu stance.

"Whenever you're ready, Emo-san."

"ok here i got an idea" i take out some rope and tie the sheathes to my kodachis and get ready holding my left blade above my head pointing right and my right blade pointing right twoards my left elbow. "ill try and hold back so i dotn crush that thing." i charge in sweeping my right blade left
PostPosted: Mon May 15, 2006 2:36 pm

"I wouldn't be so quick to judge..."

Forming the lightswords in a cirle again, all five flipped inward, their tips all touching a single point. Then, Unvanquished repositioned the circle of blades to stop the kodachi, but also readied his shinai behind them to intercept the attack if they failed.
