He didn't know why someone wouldnt have told Almandine he was good looking, or anything else that Arachne thought the other man was. Sure he was different but that didn't make anytjijg less true. Besides if everyone acted the same the world would be so much more boring. "First time for everything. Trust me you're special. He'll you're a Senshi. Proof you're special." Arachne wasn't really expecting the kiss in amswer to his question but he was happy to get it. Almandine's lips were soft and warm against his and he enjoyed how easily the otjer man responded and took what he wanted even when nervous.

The look he gave Arachne after he pulled back from the kiss was a puzzled one, but not unhappy. Almandine lifted a hand; it hovered for a second just above Arachne's cheek, as though he wasn't sure whether touching was allowed, and then his fingers pressed against the warm skin. He let them trail a little higher, skimming along a cheek bone, fluttering over Arachne's temple then traced them lower, over the curve of a jaw, as though Almandine was trying to memorize the way it felt, the way it looked.
His fingers fluttered hesitantly over Arachne's lips, a barely there, tentative touch.
"If I'm special, doesn't that make you special as well?" Almandine asked softly, curiously, almost above a whisper but not quite.

Arachne stayed still while Almandine touched him. It took an act of will not to lean into the touches but he didn't want the other senshi to think that he needed to stop or should stop. The touches felt nice even though they were tentative. "I always knew I was special. I did mention my ego problem's right?" His voice was teasing, lips curling into a grin under Almandine's fingers. "Me being special doesn't make you any less special though." Almandine needed to know that. Whoever had told the other man he wasn't, or hadn't botherd to tell him he was, didn't do a very good job as a parent or a friend.

Almandine's brows rose.
"I don't think it's ego to understand when you're good at something or when you're a good person," he said, fingers fluttering against Arachne's lips. "If you're special, then you're special. I think you're very special," he added truthfully. "You talk to me differently. And you let me kiss you."
It was still next to impossible to consider himself special as well, no matter what Arachne said. Almandine's lashes dropped lower, not out of shyness, but self deprecation, lips pressing together.
"I'm not sure...I can understand that."

"Alma, I do those things because you've earned them. And cause I want to. I like kissing you, it feels nice and you're gorgeous and I like the way you respond to me. Talking to you though? You're incredibly intelligent you just see things very literally and, i guess, i have the patience to see things from your side. Which is honestly something everyone should do to an extent." There were some things that were just wrong, no matter what, and those were the sorts of things you didn't ever comprise on. But someone not understanding things because they grew up in a different environment? Or that was just their personality? If Almandine had gotten as far as he did without crumbling under society's expectations of people he was something special. It took someone strong to be able to do that. Reaching up Arachne set his hands against Almandine's jaw, leaning in until their foreheads touched. "Trust me Alma. You are special, you're ******** fantastic. Anyone who can't see that is blind."

He felt a strange sort of sensation in his chest that he couldn't explain; a pressure that seemed to expand outwards, curling hotly through his sternum and making its way up his throat. Almandine stared at Arachne, his fingers falling away from his lips as his hand came to rest on his shoulder instead, an unconscious gesture he wasn't aware of doing.
No one thought that way. No one that Almandine had ever met thought that way, about anything. It seemed impossible to consider that, maybe, just maybe, someone else did.
His breath caught in his throat as Arachne's forehead touched his, Almandine's eyes still wide and startled, still trying to figure out what was happening. The pressure in his chest was growing; he heard the words almost as though they were a physical thing impacting him.
Anyone who can't see that is blind.
Almandine's hands slid up to cup the back of Arachne's neck. His head tilted, breathing a little uneven, and he pressed his lips to Arachne's, arms sliding around his neck to hold on, not crushingly tight, but securely, as though he needed something to anchor himself onto, and that was Arachne.

Part of Arachne, a rather large part, wanted to know who it was that made Almandine think the way about himself that he did. If he ever found out, ever met them, he was going to rip them a new one for not letting Almandine grow up thinking he was special and worth something. Whoever did it had let him down and it wasn't right. The feeling was similar to the ones he'd had for Rik, knowing Rik's family had messed him up and wanting to take him away from that and teach him none of what he thought about himself was true. This time the feeling curling in his gut was a little more visceral. He was older, knew better, was wiser, and he really didn't want to ******** it up this time. When Almandine tilted his head, their lips pressed together again, he had no hesitating in returning the kiss. His hands slipped from the other senshi's jaw, wrapping around his waist and holding on. He wanted Almandine to know he was serious, that he was being truthful.

He didn't know what the right thing to do was. Whether or not Arachne was actually on the wrong side, or whether he himself was on the wrong side of this war. Or if he was right when he told Almandine just how special he was, or how good he looked. Or if he was even kissing right, for that matter.
But Arachne's words were doing something to him, even if Almandine didn't know what. Something about them sank into him, slid through his veins, pulsing through his chest like a breath of air that he had needed and not known he had needed until now.
Almandine gave himself up entirely to what he was doing, into this kiss. His mouth pressed firmly against Arachne's, almost a little bruising in its intensity, but not quite, lips parting without hesitation. His hand slid up into Arachne's hair, tangled in the strands, and now it had become something that was nothing but raw, unchecked emotion that Almandine had never let go of before.

Arachne leaned back again with a groan, pulling Almandine with him and giving up to whatever the other senshi felt like he needed to do. It seemed like Almandine needed to have a bit of control and Arachne was perfectly find letting him have it if it meant he was more confident in what he was doing and what he wanted. It was a little overwhelming but only because it wasn't something he expected from the other man. This is why you don't make people repress their feelings. He could feel the bun his hair was up in loosening, Almandine's fingers a bit too eager, and was tempted to reach up and pull the pins out. That would have meant letting go of the other senshi and somehow that didn't seem like a good option.

His chest hurt. He wasn't used to this feeling, this - anything. Arachne's arms around him, Arachne's groan in his ears, the press of his mouth, the taste of his kisses. It was so unbelievably foreign to someone like Almandine, who had never before been allowed something like this.
His fingers brushed against something in Arachne's hair, something small and metal; a slide of his thumb across one indicated it was a pin of sorts, likely what kept Arachne's hair up. Almandine tugged at one, found another and tugged until he felt the sleek locks tumble free into his hand, which delved in and curled, not hard, but wanting to feel.
It was a bold move for someone who was not at all confident in anything else except things that he had years worth of experience in. Almandine felt hot from the top of his head to the tips of his toes, his mouth burning with each kiss, a reminder that it was real.
He broke off a moment later, gasping for breath, Almandine's eyes still shut, long lashes over his cheeks. His forehead was against Arachne's, and he hadn't gone far; his fingers still tangled in his hair, Almandine's breathing ragged, his face flushed scarlet.

Arachne laughed softly when he felt Almandine tugging his hair free from the bun. How the other man had known what he was thinking he wasn't sure but it felt good to have Alma's fingers in his hair. It felt a little too good and he was glad that the other senshi pulled back from the kiss before he embarrassed himself. He felt warm and a bit fluttery and he hadn't really felt like this in a long, long, time. Sure he'd had some flings here and there since coming back to DC but while those were fun they were hollow. There wasn't anything but pleasure behind them. With Almandine in his arms? He what was there yet, everything was still too new, but there was something. "Alma..." When the other pulled back from the kiss he gently prodded his side. "You said you learn fast but damn. Have to be careful or you're going to get me all tied up in knots."

He liked the shortening of his name; Almandine still felt like too much of a mouthful for anyone to say, and there was something about the way that it sounded rolling off of Arachne's tongue that made Almandine feel fluttery and happy.
Happy. It was a foreign, unexplained, completely unknown sensation. But it was what was curling in his stomach, expanding in his chest, and Almandine wanted to feel it for longer, wanted to explore this curious, pleasing thing that he'd never had a chance to before.
His eyes were still closed. Almandine's fingers slid out of Arachne's hair and down across his jaw before both arms slowly unwound and curled between them, bent between both of their chests. His hands were resting on Arachne's shoulders.
"Does that mean it's that time of night where..." His voice was a little unsteady. Almandine opened his eyes and looked at Arachne, slightly dazed. "...where you have to go..?"

"Unfortunately I do have to go eventually." He didn't really want to, not without taking Almandine with him but he knew that wasn't possible. He couldnt just bring a corrupt Senshi home no matter how much he wanted to. That ead dangerous no matter if he thought Almandine wasn't going to hurt him. Ignoring the fluttering in his chest he caught one of Almandines hands, bringing it up so he could press a kiss to the other mans knuckles. "How about we meet again in a week? I can bring the knight who changed sides so you can talk to him. That sound good?" A week seemed like a long time to go without seeing Alma but he needed time to get his own stupid self from jumping into things and Alma needed time to think. He didn't want what they were doing, any of it, to just be a spur of the moment reaction. He wanted, needed, it to be something else after all the other carp in his life.

A look of disappointment flitted across Almandine's face at the idea that Arachne would have to leave. A part of him knew that they couldn't really stay like this the entire night; their relative positions on each side of the war combined with the late hour was reason enough not to.
But it didn't mean that he liked it.
Almandine's eyes fluttered as Arachne kissed his knuckles, fingers flexing slightly in his grasp. He felt warm and safe here on Arachne's lap; like he actually belonged in this small place they had created. "Yes," he said, after considering it. "Yes, that sounds reasonable."
There was a pause, and then Almandine admitted softly, hesitantly, "I don't...want you to go."

"Trust me darling, I don't want to go either." He brushed their noses together gently before carefully nudging Almandine off his lap so they could both stand up. Arachne didn't let go of Almandine, at least not yet. It still felt good to have the other senshi close despite knowing they had to split up for the evening. Taking a deep breath Arachne brushed a light kiss against Almandine's lips before slowly letting go. "Same time next week. I'll bring my friend and you can ask him any questions you come up with between now and then."
