[Forge]
A Little mindless grunt left Forge as he weighed his work in his thoughts. It was less then he thought it was going to be, the soldiers must have not been using the equipment, or it was harder to damage the gear then he thought. Dark gray tail swept the air, taking in a slow breath, the Tah released a puff of smoke past the pipe in his maw. Seired and stubby whiskers flare outward and poked at the air around his sooty scared snoot. A dusty ear turned back as the gentle rumble of a purr caught his ear.
Raising a single brow, a ember lit eye slipped to the corner of his gaze. Usually, Forge wouldn't pay any mind to an others approach, but he had recognized the tone of the purr...that, and there wasn't a lot of b'alam let alone nans that would dare approach so relaxed and with a purr.
His dark ear perked and widened just a little to take in Yahui's soft spoken works.
"no, there is a lack of work." The Blacksmith rumbled in a gruffled low tone, his careful gaze narrow at the lack of work before him. The warriors were being too soft on the weapons. Shen commissioned him to make work, yet it wasn't being used! A huff left the blacksmith, before he turned his head to look back at the Nan. A single brow raised again, widening his squinted gaze ever so slightly as he realized he hadn't greeted the Nan back. A thoughtful register of his mishap, slipped over to the corner of his gaze as if searching for a way to start over the conversation, and move pass the hubris of his own ambition.
Looking back to the Nantil, a huff only left his nostrils and his head slowly shifted giving a greeting nod.
Hoping that would appease the temptress of talk....it was more then what she had gained the first time they met, it was at least filled with more respect...
Yahui, did get her paws dirty with coal, even when Forge said she wouldn't dare to do so...
[Jing Lung]
Jing Lung paused from her careful and regal walk as she hear that her own beloved concluded his meeting with the generals. Her maw remained posed as she was sure to make sure the young cub wouldn't trot pass her. Jing Lung was mindful of young Tenith, and her sight, but trusted the cub not to move past the gate of her paw steps.
A content and warm smile rested on Shen Lung as he spoke his softer words to her. She then waited for him, to follow at his side. Ears delightfully perked to his lure.
"As you lead, yours." The Empress answered gently letting her golden eyes rest his own strong and determined gaze.

Astoria: Seyriu was going to fall into her proper place but then something interesting began to take place. One of the masked Soldiers was dragging someone towards Shen and they looked a little rough for wear at that. The female being dragged was unmaked and unfamiliar to her. At least she didn't look too familiar at any rate. She remained where she stood, frozen in time because she felt as though this was going to be interesting to say the least. She couldn't have believed her ears, but she couldn't deny the words that had been said. She had caught her quickly, or at least as quickly as she could have. She had no idea the identity of the figures in the shadows but she was certain once this Nan was before Shen all would come to light. What had been said was treacherous, it was beyond anything she would have dared say to their Ruler. But there was mischeif afoot. How dare there be outsiders plotting against their lord. This would be known. She had intially knocked her out and had finally gotten her front legs bound so that she couldn't try to run away from her and was dragging her towards Shen. While she wasn't large by any means, Xia was strong. She laid the black and silver female at his feet. She bowed before him. "My Lord. I do not mean to intrude, but I caught this traitor trying to leave the city with information about you.... About our forces..." The swallowed. "They were going to tell someone outside the city." She knew what this would mean. She had been doing this for her family, to keep those she had cared for safe. She knew of the risks but she had never known that it would come to something like this. She had been knocked out cold but was now awake and looking up at Shen, at least that was who it had to be given the things she had heard about him. She was going to be strong no matter what. She could at least do that for her family. Silver gaze unmoving she didn't even know that her love was in the crowd behind them. She had no idea that half of her heart was here to witness any of this. She had never told him that she had gotten involved, that she was running information. It was a new thing, even since the cubs had grown she had gotten involved. So it hadn't been very long but she had gotten a steady connection and was moving decent information that would help the Pheonix Army overthrow Shen. She had just gotten the latest information about his personal life and some troop specifics. While she wasn't the only one who knew the info, she had just been caught. She had no idea how, she had been so careful. But apparently not careful enough it would seem. She gazed over towards the one that had taken her, it was a masked Nan, did she know that there was another life outside of the one they were living under Shens rule? She wondered if they knew. She looked back at Shen. She wasn't going to break, there was nothing he could do to get her to speak. @Thalion(edited)

[ Shen Lung ]
The tag gently nudged his mate’s cheek with his own. They were a proud pair, perfectly reflecting the flames that burned within themselves and the mountains that they called their own. They were crowned in gold, blessed with grace and power- and she… ah, his greatest treasure. She was blessed in the same way that Tanith was- eyes that saw beyond. The golden nan foundling had become an easy addition to his growing family. Perhaps one day his natural cubs would look to her as a sister and a mentor. It could only strengthen them. He ensured that the little nan was in tow before leading his mate from the sparring sands- this was no place for a lady with paws as soft as hers, nor was it a place for a little one. A gasp from one of the soldiers tore his attention away from his course first. He couldn’t pick out whom, nor did he have time to study the faces of the gathered soldiers. In that moment following his speech, the silence only deepend. A nan’s voice broke that, casting her words like a rock against a sheet of glass.
He turned, eyes curious, then outraged.
A traitor? Forces? On the outside? He raised a lip, flashing a mouth full of fangs, and slowly turned to confront the situation. A black nan was bound by her front paws, still dazed from some sort of blow to her head. She looked…vaguely familiar to him, but he couldn’t place a name. Hadn’t she carved recently? Or had it been months prior? He had seen her markings…
“What’s this?” He growled, his eyes moving from the captive to the capturer. “Outside? Who could she possibly tell that would dare mettle in the affairs of this kingdom?” [Pelinore] The gasp had fallen from his maw the moment he’d caught sight of his beloved. She was dazed, still reeling from some violence, and bound by her paws. He took a step forward but froze, his entire body quaking. She’d been doing what?! But…but why? They had a life here… it wasn’t what he would have chosen, but they were proud fire-kin. They had a paw in the military- he could earn honor and prestige for his family, a heritage for his cubs. By the weaver, they had a litter waiting for them to return- who was watching them!?
Fear gripped him by the throat, strangling any protest that may have erupted. His cubs…his family….
He sought out her eyes, the rest of the world slowly fell away. Why…?

[Jing Lung]
The Dragon Queen let her eyes close peacefully as she felt the caring touch of her king, it was such sweet bliss to share such tender moments with her Emperor opening. It was founding proof to their tribesman he wasn't a 'monster' that the heathens on the boarder thought. He only took charge and did what must been done for them, the fire tribe as a whole.
A soft purr left Jing Lung and how he noticed Tenith, who would no doubt be a great sage one day. Cubs were the life and continued flame of their tribe. There was no doubt in the hopeful mother to be, that he was going to be a wonderful father....
There was a gasp. Instantly Jing Lung's ears perked and widened.
All thoughts of the future where taken away from her as a bound Nan was dragged to their paws. Elegant white and crimson tail flicked, and golden eyes narrowed on the Ebony Nantil that was before them. Her fine and slender chin rose with disgust at the Nan before them. As if fifth radiated off of her, and was threatening to swallow their elegant whole.
Golden eyes narrowed on the Nan, as her Emperor shared his own distastes with this accused traitor...
If what was claimed true, this Nan was lower then the ground she was laid on... Alabaster ears turned back as her king demanded answers.
Answers she could answer and knew were expected of her. Slowly the Nan lowered her head to the yellow cub beside her.
"Tenith, be still and watch carefully." Jing Lung spoke softly.
Taking a few careful steps Jing Lung released a sigh. Slowly and gracefully she lowered herself to the ground and in front of the accused nan, her sleek and graceful body turned to the side of the accused. The flat of her back faced the lower flame, she did not dare face the nan as equals, they were anything but.
However....
This was crucial, it was requested and needed. Letting her golden eyes close, Jing Lung took in a deep breath and slowly let it go. Letting her eyes open, she peered deeply into the black nan's eyes....
There was a young adult, barely cutting his adult fangs, standing beside a much larger, much more imposing figure. A tah wearing combat-tested armor shaped like a dragon's skull sat on his crown, shining in the low afternoon light. He had a dark set of eyes barely visible under the helm, a deep, gravely voice, and markings that resembled freshly broken volcanic soil. He stood silently, eyes narrowed, as he listened to the report being given to the younger tah beside him. The youth was small, but already his frame was beginning to show the start of a body well tested by the conditions of harsh training and a difficult terrain. He had a paroo perched on one shoulder, a crown of blue horns, and eyes like a cloudless sky narrowed in deep thought.
Nearby, another figure watched from the shadows. It could be felt that it was a nan, but the features were obscured by shadow and the speaker's eyes were focused on those in front of her rather than the curious spectators around her. In the distant a basket of idols lay next to a set of watchful family eyes....
In a instant Jing Lung blinked as her breath was taken sharply from her. For a moment her strange eyes remained fixed on the black nan, but they only seemed to stare through and past her.
Closing her gaze, Jing brought herself back to the moment with a slow shake of her head and maw.
"You are foolish flame." The Nan growled lowly to the dark traitor, in a quick movement Jing Lung rose to her paws and turned toward Shen Lung. There was a elegant yet sharp flick of her tail as she approached her mate.
She looked at him and only offered him a nod....

[ Shen Lung ]
He watched, golden eyes narrowed, as his mate performed her strange art. It would be the first time his tribe would witness their empress’ abilities- and perhaps this was as good a time as any to unveil her power- and the power that his adopted nan would soon come to grow into. He had been puzzled at first, mortified, then mystified. She saw the past through the eyes of those she reached out to in this fashion. He had put her to the test- asking her to reveal to him the day that he first opened his eyes. She had recited everything, down to the finest detail, without any bias or assumptions. It was, in all measures, the power to see into the eyes of another’s past.
If this nan was a traitor, nothing but lies would pass her lips. On the other paw, if she was innocent then his beloved would have the only way to truly set things right. Perhaps this was a misunderstanding. Perhaps she had encountered someone on the border that was a newly-woven…
He watched in silence, reserving judgement, until his nan rose. Gravely, she nodded, confirming the words of his soldier.
“….what did you see?” He asked quietly, his voice like thunder on a dark horizon. “Tell me. No-“, he looked past the prisoner to the curious onlookers. “….tell us…what crime this nan has committed against her family.”

She had never known the powers that the Empress held, not until this moment. She had never even heard rumors about it before so watching everything unfold like it was made her stand in awe. How would anyone be able to stand against them, especially if she was able to see what has been seen before.
Were there other traitors in their midst? Could she do that to every single soul here? The endless posibilities that raced through her mind. Though she said nothing and just continued to watch. [Xia] She watched as Shen turned and stared at not only herself but at her captive as well. "I am not certain my leige, I only know what I heard." She said taking a step back as the Empress walked forward. What was about to happen? This was new to her. [Iokaste] She would stand strong no matter what, there wasn't anything they could do in order to get her to speak. As Shen approached and stared down at her with a look of disgust she never waivered in her silence. She knew well enough the dangers of what she had been doing, while she had never thought it would come to this, it had.
It was clear that the Nan that had taken her hadn't heard much, but just enough to implicate her. Not only that but she had seen her at some point. If the others she had been talking to had been seen it would have been known already, so their identities were safe. That much was clear. At least for now.
When the Empress stepped forward she stared at her and almost smiled. What was she going to do? And then she did what she did and took what she took. She had felt as though something was inside her concience, but it wasn't for long. What was that? She had never heard of such beings, and yet here she stood.
How were they able to do such a thing. What had she seen? She refused to show her fear. She had nothing. At least that is what she would believe.
When the Nan stepped away she took a moment to gaze out towards the faces that were gathered. As she went to look away a familiar pair of eyes made her stop and she did her best not to react. It was her mate and she felt like her stomach was full of rocks.
Everything was going to be okay. They were going to be fine. @Thalion(edited)

[Tanith] The golden cub flinched as her teacher Jing Lung had touched her side. She still feared her own powers, and the only time they ever seem to come is when someone touched her or she touched them. The fact that she could glimpse into another past was quite scary for the young cub. She could not control it and to her it really did not seem right to pry into another’s past without consent.
Small ears shifting as she listened to her teacher’s words. Truthfully she wanted to stay it had been a while since she had traveled far upon the grounds she wanted to know her surroundings a bit more, and she was quite interested in the smells that surrounded them. There were so many of them, many she did not know. That however was not the only things she could sense so many spirits about, which made her wonder how many were actually here. Tanith could not count them, for her attention was currently on Jing.
Keeping her maw shut she had no right to argue with her generous teacher. Without word she complied to Jing’s request. Keeping her head down she moved one paw in front of another up until another commotion started. Her ears shifted behind her stopping in mid step as Jing and Lord Shen were called back. She remained within gate of Jing.
“Yes, Lady Jing” Lifting her head up from its position she spoke softly in return. They were her first words since she had arrived on the training grounds, and the only words she was needed to speak.
Watching her teacher closely both her with bad vision and her other senses, one day perhaps she would be able to do so. Use her powers when she wanted not when they wanted to appear. Lord Shen’s words rang out pulling her out of her own concentration. Ears shifting onto her teacher she waited like everyone else to hear what she had saw.

Jing Lung released a soft breath as her lover spoke his request. She knew that he was going to, and just as always the Nan strightened herself, and gave her mate one last look before she closed her eyes.
"She has spoken with the traitor, Volga. Meet with another with-in our tribe, a dark pelted Nantlil with green eyes. She has shared our secrets and our numbers, as well as tactics." The sage spoke simply and basically, not going into great detail of what she saw but the jist of it-that prove her guilt or innocents. She paused and let out a breath.
"...and shared news of your emperor's woven to those woven of fire on the boarder, that hide in the obsidian sea." The nan spoke painly but let her eyes slowly open to look at her Yolilizti. Letting out a breath she looked to Shen, there was more she wished to discuss with him. However, it wasn't anything that the flock needed to know. It was the burden of leadership...

[Yahui] stared briefly at the equipment he looked over and frowned a bit. They all looked hardly used. Such a pity fo such talent to be wasted. She knew he had worked hard for each piece here and to see them so poorly abuse... Her tail twitched faintly to the side. "My apologies." Her red eyes shifted to the warriors resuming their training and noting them focusing on sparring more with each other than with the tools that Shen had presumably asked Forge to create for them. Her silver brows furrowed a bit before she moved a bit closer and settled into a proper sit.
"If you'd like, Tah Forge... I could talk to the commanders about using the tools more." she seemed to purr softly and wrapped her gradient tail about her paws. "I realize you had worked hard to make these and it's upsetting to see them lacking the ability to appear used if at all." She looked to her paws briefly before flicking a tan ear in his direction. Red eyes quickly following. "Speaking of working hard... How is the ore we brought back fairing you? Working well with your projects, I hope?" It seemed other actions were beginning to unfold and draw forth attention and soon her ears shifted as eyes landed on a Tah in the sparring grounds that appeared frightened and confused. She noted calmly how he tried to hide it then turned her head to follow his gaze. She saw the bound Nan and tilted her head, starting to rise to all four paws. "My apologies, Forge. I'll..." she flicked her tail in irritation. "We'll continue our talk later." she promised in a near whisper and then quickly trotted over towards Shen and his bonded. She stood nearby to the pair and watched as Jing Lung worked her magic, using a gift she herself had only heard rumors of.
Ebony tinted lips parted softly at the accusations as they poured carefully from Nan Jing's lips. They quickly shut, not wanting to interfere just yet, but she did turn her head, setting her crimson gaze upon the Tah she'd noticed to react briefly. She wondered his connection but thought it best to approach the Tah at a later time. Now would be too obvious and all cards had to be played carefully. Her eyes shifted back towards Tah Shen, wondering how he'd handle the situation.

[Kyle] Kyle had only managed to turn about half-way before a new event broke out. Once more everything tensed. He turned about to face the soldier and the traitor. From the corner of his eye he caught sight of a confused Pelinore, as if a ghost b'alam had swiped him across the maw. Wasn't the black nan -his-? Kyle's eyes narrowed a moment, he would have to question his soldier later. Until than he turned his attention to the Empress and their Emperor. The news unfolding was not in their favor. Volga? The former emperor's personal bodyguard, alive? The warrior had vanished almost as instantly as their emperor. Kyle felt deep to his core that petty training was now over, it was time to prepare. This black Nan was the herald of that.

[ Shen Lung ] Shen's ears rolled back slowly and the storm that had been gathering in his voice slowly passed over his expression. Volga... the turn-tail that had failed the tribe once in allowing the original Magi to desert them... he'd defied Shen when he had stepped up- and for what reason? He didn't like his methods? Fine sort he was, casting blame when he himself had been too much a coward to take the throne and guide his sisters and brothers. The throne had sat empty and the tribe had been sucked dry of its morale. The fire had gone out of them...they'd been abandoned. Perhaps the old body-guard was content sitting on his paws waiting for the Magi to return, but Shen wouldn't suffer a long life of watching the light die in his kin's eyes. If he had to get his paws a little messy to pull his people together and back up to their paws- so be it. If he had to blind an upstart to open the eyes of everyone else- it was a price he was willing to pay.
And now...this.
"So... Volga seeks to take power for himself?" Shen asked, half confused and half infuriated. What? Let him do all the work then come back in, claws blazing, to take the throne for himself? The filthy upstart...
He reached a paw out and gently lifted the chin of the traitor, his baleful eyes boring down on her.
"So you've found some friends on our borders...you're so willing to pull our legs out from under us just as we've found our footing? Do you want to see this tribe as it was!? As ash and mere embers of what could become a pillar of light?"
He squeezed his claws out, just brushing the nan's skin.
"....Dearest-", he glanced back to his mate. "Get the little ones out of here. Their future doesn't need this stain on it."
He glanced up as Kyle addressed him, his eyes thoughtful. "No. Not a scouting party- a hunting party. I want this weed pulled up before it can take root and seed." [ Pelinore ] The tah's limbs trembled as he held himself firmly in place, though his haunted expression could have been easily confused for shock at such a treachery. He had eyes only for his other half who now, quite literally, had her life in the claws of their emperor. Why had she taken such a risk? What could Volga possibly do for them now? Shen had been right...no one had taken the throne once the Magi had left. They fell into idle tasks, hanging their heads. The other tribes boasted wise Magi, leading their tribes forward and building culture...and what did they have?
Did she know something he didn't? His heart tightened. Surely, there was a reason.
/Oh weaver, please..../

[Yahui] rolled her ears back softly. While she understood the reason for his brash reasoning and methods, she also didn't necessarily see a reason behind so much bloodshed... Her ears perked forward a bit, turning crimson gaze to the Nan that had dragged the accused into their sight. Eyes narrowed only slightly as tail flicked up in curiousity.
"If I may..." she started, not really waiting on confirmation on whether she could or couldn't intervene. She stepped up beside Shen and kept her eyes dead on the masked Nan. "You. Nan. You said you caught this one leaving the city to relay information. This much has obviously been verified..." she noted, casting a small greatful glance at the Nan Jing. Her eyes then returned to masked one, staring quizically at those gold eyes. "How did you come to know the reason behind her leaving? How did you discover what this Nan was really up to?"
She wasn't accusing the Masked Nan of betrayal as well, but merely seeking information to fill in a few missing holes. If she had an informant, that would likely be information that they'd definitely need to know.

She listened as words were spoken and cubs were asked to be removed. Was this going to be another one of those moments that someone gets their eyes ripped out? She had remembered Ables death as well, but she wasn't sure if this would come to that. But with Shen you never knew. Flicking her tail behind her she scanned the crowd for any familiar faces. She was familiar with Kyle, her Leader, but she was looking for.... Someone she knew. Or was at least somewhat acquainted to.
Not seeing anyone she figured she'd go with Kyle.
She moved over to where he stood, which wasn't too far away. She had always wanted to talk to him more but had never gotten around to it. Not that right now was a good time to start talking. She at least wanted to be closer so that she could perhaps nab his ear for a time after, if even to talk about the events they were witnessing and about to witness.(edited) [Iokaste]
She gazed up at him as he lifted her chin but said nothing, she barely winced when his claws just barely poked at the skin under her jaw. She had nothing to say to him, plus she knew there wasn't anything she could say that would change the outcome of the events that had led her here.
Maybe she should have involved him more, but no. That would have put him at risk, it was one of the reasons she told none of them. She never discussed any of it with any of them. He hadn't known, he wasn't even aware she was part of this. As far as he knew she was a neutral bystander just happy to have her Yolilizti back from training and keeping the family taken care of.
He never knew of her moonlighting as an informent. She would never had risked him getting questioned and she was even more glad now. If they knew she was mated to him he would certainly be questioned, maybe even looked into by the Empress. But she would see nothing buy loyalty behind those eyes of his. He was loyal to the cause of Shen, at least as loyal as he could be without being a true supporter.
That was one of the reasons she had loved him. He was a good Tah. She wished in this moment he wasn't here. She knew what was going to come. She assumed something terrible, though she had always expected the worst anyway.
She turned her gaze back to the ground, making it look as though she were just staring at nothing, but she was staring at him. She pleaded at him with her eyes to forgive her, to forgive himself. He was not to blame. She hoped he knew that. @Thalion(edited) [Xia]
When she was questioned by Yahui she looked at her from behind her golden mask. "I overheard the last part of a conversation but before I got there the members had dispersed so I trailed her down and caught her before she was able to leave." That was really it, she had been at the right place, at the right time. There had been nothing more to it than that. @Seruta(edited)

[ Shen Lung ] He withdrew his paw only to swipe it across the bonds that held the traitor's paws. There was no where for her to run, the field was full of his soldiers, each one of them ready to stop her if she attempted to make an escape. It would be beyond foolish for her to even consider it an option, but there was no glory in bearing down on a bound nan. It was downright pathetic. "Save your breath, Yahui, this one would have defended herself if she was innocent- isn't that right?"
He took a step back and squared his shoulders. "I'll say this once- and only once. You stand charged with treason, confirmed in your guilt by the empress herself. You can choose to surrender information now and retain one scrap of your dignity, or you can remain silent and face retribution."
He jerked his horns towards the nearby soldier. "You dishonor not only yourself, but your brothers and sisters here. Each one of is working our claws to bloody stubs to salvage this tribe and pull it from the rubble...and you would crush us with this little act of betrayal. Explain yourself- and choose your words with care." [ Pelinore ] He blinked roughly, perhaps more than was strictly nessicary. The look she offered him damn near broke his heart. She had a second life outside of their family, she had risked so much...but it didn't make sense. She knew what was on the line, she had seen what Shen had done to those that defied him...and was it worth it? They were living comfortably. Their cubs were safe, they were happy, and their first litter had grown into handsome young adults. They were old enough to start training themselves- and not one of them was unhappy here.
As Shen freed her paws his heart leapt, only to plummet a heartbeat later. What in Weaver's name was he doing? Was he going to let her go...?

[Liang Zhou] Though the fiery coated Tah held his attentive stance like a good little soldier, the frown on his face clearly broadcast his confusion at this new turn of events. Why in the world would someone betray the Emperor and this grand new world they were working so hard to create? Did she not see the grand vision? How all the hard work would be worth it? What reason could she have for not wanting that? It perplexed him beyond belief and he couldn't fathom a reasonable answer to the questions that passed through his mind.(edited) One could feel the tension building as the situation escalated. It didn't take a genius to realize that something was going to happen. Clearly this betrayal couldn't go unanswered for. Even Liang Zhou realized that much. But what about these strangers outside the city? What was their purpose in all this? Why would anyone oppose the revival of the great Fire Tribe? Upon hearing his General speak up about sending scouts to investigate, Liang subconsciously straightened up, ears perking with interest. He was already curious about what sorts could possibly oppose the Emperor. Perhaps this was his chance to do more for the cause! He said nothing to interrupt, of course, but listened with interest as Shen considered the idea and suggested a hunting party over a scouting venture. Okay, yes, different but...he'd been training with Kyle's unit for some time now. He could handle that too, right? The implication of a hunt seemed more direct than mere scouting at least. No wandering aimlessly around the outside of the city. Find the target, do what must be done. Yes, he could do that. Wrapped up in his thoughts, he'd missed the glances being aimed in Pelinore's direction and continued watching the interrogation of the Nan, waiting until he could volunteer to aide the cause with the proposed hunting party.
