GunSniper:
Kyle stopped in front of a large rock with a hollowing in it just enough for the cub to fit into. Though Ajax would be hunting in his own, Kyle would be sure to watch. Whether Ajax noticed the distant shadow or not. For now, all seemed well. Thankfully the cub did not have a mouth as big as his ambitions. To the point. Kyle liked that. It made for a very good soldier if he could keep it up. "That will be yours." Kyle gestures to the rock with a flick of his tail.

Ajax's long tail shifted behind him as he listened to Kyle's words. His head tilted a little, it was more then he expected, he might enjoyed the little nook. "Thank you." The cub spoke looking from the hovel to Kyle. His dark tail shifted behind him. Large ears remained perked to Kyle, waiting for more. His eyes held a deep expantancy. The young cub wanted to know all that he could, and become as strong as he possibly could be.

Kyle watched the cub in silence while the cub watched him expectedly. No questions. Good. He wanted to be guided. "Tend to your wounds. Be ready to hunt when the shadow of your rock touches the rock west of you." Roughly an hour. Without time for a response Kyle left the cub to do as instructed. Well, left the immediate area. He still looked close enough to keep a visual on the little one. Despite the amazing performance, trust had not yet been earned.

Ajax watch Kyle just as quietly. He could tell that his teacher wasn't much of a talker. That was okay. Crucible hadn't been either.
"Yes, Tah." Ajax spoke firmly as his guide left him to do as he was told. Turning toward the rock made 'room', Ajax's tail swayed behind him, thoughtfully and curiously.
Moving to the entrance of his hole. The cub reared up and with claws extended scrapped and dug his claws into the rock. Stretching his body as he did, he claimed the hovel as his own. As well as made sure his claws were still sharp for the hunt. If there was any expectancy that were greater then his own, held by his teacher-they cub was determined to surpass them. he had to be ready.
As Ajax was satisfied with the sharpness of his claws. The cub turned around and started to tend to cleaning and his large paws. Tending to the sores as best as he could. The rest time would have to take care off

Kyle watched from a distance, a black dot barely visible across the vents spewing land. Inwardly he allowed himself to be amused at the cub's priority list. Mark first. It wasn't a bad choice, in face Kyle would have done the same thing before moving on to another task. There were many caves like that one, but that one was his. There would be time to wait, but Kyle insisted on watching while he stood on hot ground. It was still a skill he wished to hone. He knew his paws were not as calloused at the ones who invented this training. Just as the cub, he was determined.

Chewing and licking at his paws, Ajax's dark tail shifted behind him as he sat at the entrance of his hovel. All the while he kept an close eye on his shadow. Though as it slowly drifted by, the Cub wondered if he was to go on his hunt alone, or not. Going over what was instructed, in his thoughts, it seem as if he would be alone-which was okay. However, it was slightly confusing, considering it would be his first time and Kyle said: 'Be ready'.
Either way, he had a sneaking suspicion he was being watched and would continue to be. He learned that from Crucible, all good teachers keep their students under careful watch.
Setting his large paw down, the Cub strighted and stretched out his neck as well as his back in the sit, long slinder tail shifted and wrapped around his paws. All that was left to do, was to wait for time to hurry up

Kyle had implied that the cub was to hunt alone. His first or not. Kyle wanted to see how he would work it out. He would watch. This was how Kyle had to learned to hunt. No one taught or watched him do it. He figured it out... he had to. Or else die in starvation. That is what he learned. This cub, though young, will learn the same lesson. Though, Kyle inwardly wondered if he should intervene if the cub could not learn to hint on his own. He grunted. Soft. That thought was too soft. Still, he was smaller that he was when he learned. Kyle huffed and shook his head. Fine! He wouldn't let he cub starve! But he had to see if the cub could figure it out first.

Waiting for the shadow to crawl across the steamed rock, Ajax remained still and poised as he went over his thoughts. Preparing, and steadying them. He took time's slow pace to his advantage as he went over everything he was taught before this moment. Ajax had been hunting before, but never alone. It wasn't impossible for the cub, he was more then confident that he could get the task done. He had to eat, and he loved to eat...so he would eat. Failure was not a option.
Letting his eyes open, Ajax's dark orbs looked to see where his shadow had gotten to. Ears perked forward, finally. Straightening to his large paws. Stretching his back, the cub then reached out to work his front paws; as he did long claws elongated and grasped at the ground. Flexing his tail in a upward curl, the cub straightened once more. Sniffing the air, Ajax started to make his way from the den. He moved his large paws quickly to help temper the heat.

At the appointed time, the shadow was not where it had been. In fact it seems to have faded away and was nowhere to be found. Kyle had moved, but still remained watchful if the cub. What would he do next? The cub had to find and track the food on his own. However, Kyle would be ready to step in if needed. There had been harmadillios in the area, not at this time of day, but they were known to be unpredictable at times. A heard of bork were known to roam the cooler side of the land and peck at the dry patches of rough grass. Those were easy pickings. They hardly put up any fight.

(Spooked 1-50 unnoticed)
Claws out, Ajax continued away from the den to find the surface so he could begin his hunt. Ear's forward and senses sharp, Ajax could feel another tah near by, but slowly the feeling faded as he moved further away from the den. Keeping his trot, Ajax easily moved away from the training area to find some game. Tail shifted behind him, as his awkward body wobbled with the thunder of his heavy large paws.
It was later in the day, so he knew from his group hunts that on the other side of the mountain some game was usually about searching for lunch. It wasn't long before the Cub found the less dryer lands, his darker pelt was easier to find among the grass so Ajax knew he had to be more stealthy and stick to the shadows. His New Teacher and Crucible were dark in color, so they knew the struggle as well. He had learned some hints from Crucible to aid in his hunt.
In wasn't long before the scent of prey came to Ajax and his senses drew him closer to the pleasant feather like smells. Ears forward, his body lowered to the ground found the shadow of a nearby rock. Hunching close to the wall, Ajax made his large cub body as small as possible. His sense told him the feathered stocky prey was nearby. He could smell and hear them...
Dark eyes remained focused and searched among the patches of grass and rock. The cub remained still....
Ears twitched as he noticed more movement among a patch of grass....
*Borks are uneasy and alert, but still continue to feed.*

Kyle continue to watch the young cub. However this time, he made sure to stay far enough away that he himself could not since the cubs spirit. Unfortunately with the dark built, the cub was easy to spot. Kyle himself, but the dark built, had to be careful with how he hid himself. It was a school that he had time to hone. His armor catching the sunlight do not help his stealth any. Not that he normally wanted to be stealthy. Hunting was another story, however, Kyle was perfectly fine hunting animals that would attack him first. Using his obvious position as an advantage. The cub, the cub would have to find another way. He was too small to take on large predators. At least, that was the appearance. This one had a mission. This one had the ambition to do what it wanted, or at least try. Kyle like that. He could see a lot of himself in this cub. As a much younger self. Kyle never was a cub. He woke as an adult, never being able to enjoy the innocence of childhood.

(Spooked - Calm)
**The Borks calm slightly, but still remained alert**
Ajax's whiskers flare slightly, as his dark eyes remind wide open and focused on his slightly hidden pray. He could see the creatures feathers and the waggles on the top of their head; pausing and bobbing as they tried to remain alert and look for their own food at the same time.
Slowly Ajax slipped his paws together as he remained to be a black dot in the shadow, his tail shifted and stilled behind him. Taking in a quiet breath, he stilled his excitedly raised mane.
Patience.
He wanted to impress and please his teacher, he did not want to mess this up. Ajax was determined to show he was worth training, and he was skilled.
Ajax figured he could out run the borks and take them easily, however-he wanted to try at a clean and quick harvest. If he needed to chase them down. He would, but as of now-he had the advantage of time..

Uneasy 10-20 calm
The borks start to relax but are still cautious
Taking in a slow breath, Ajax turned his ear as he heard the nearby shifting of grass being bushed by incoming wind. It was a telling sign that he had to make his move quickly. Very quietly his back paws shifted under his crouch.
If he didn't manage to nab a bork on his first go, he did get a second chance to chase them down.
Ajax was confident with his speed, borks were not the swiftest of runners.
Dark tail shifted behind him, and in a instant Ajax paws sprang into action. Claws out, eyes focused they locked on his prey.

GunSniper:
Kyle took note of the young Cubs quick action. The change of wind would not have bode well for the little one, he needed to act. How refreshing to see that he had. Kyle narrowed his eyes on the target, and watch the prey carefully. By now he was used to their patterns. As with anything with a will there was some amount of random, but these species seem to follow a type of pattern while the fled. Kyle wondered if the cup could pick that up while on the field. Truly, it was easier for someone on the outside to see almost every pattern. But without that overhead view it could be tricky.
Still Kyle ready himself to move forward if need be. Only if need be.
