 Daichi walked back into the living room, but paused when he noticed Kaoru didn’t have a plate. Maybe he wasn’t hungry? He was about to ask when Kaoru spoke. And the words stilled him... Guess they were going to talk first… He didn’t realize he was holding his breath as the words registered in his mind. Last night… they just touched. Okay, so they didn’t go all the way. For some reason Daichi felt a bit better… maybe deep down he wanted to remember their first time, if they ever… He shook his head of the thought. Kaoru made his assumption, and Daichi wasn’t sure he wanted to correct him. But as the male continued, saying that he had wanted it… that he would have turned Daichi away if he didn’t want it, and that he was sorry Daichi couldn’t have done the same, he realized Kaoru was probably going to eat himself up if Daichi didn’t at least try to explain. He sighed and slipped into the chair next to Kaoru. He grabbed his tea, thinking about how he should put his thoughts into words. “I’m a rather stubborn person… even drunk, it’s hard to make me do anything I don’t want to do…” He said softly, staring at his cup. He prayed Kaoru would understand and he wouldn’t have to say more. He took a sip as the silence built up between them. The tea was good, but with his racing heart and nerves, he wasn’t really focusing on the taste. “You should try to eat something…” He said as he set his cup down and grabbed his fork. He took his first bite and let the silence build again. But right now, the silence was too much. “I haven’t been avoiding you… not intentionally at least.” He said softly, thinking back to Kaoru words. “We just closed a really big deal on Friday. I’ve been working non-stop to make sure everything was on track…” He tried to explain, but he wasn’t sure his excuses were good enough anymore. Alex had told him he was working too hard… he probably could have left a few hours earlier each day and everything would have been fine... He sighed again. “It won’t happen again… I’ll make sure I’m home for dinner each night.” Daichi looked at Kaoru then. He was serious. Now that he had someone waiting for him at home, he needed to changed his work schedule. It meant delegating more work to his subordinates… but they were capable people… Daichi was just a workaholic… Daichi grew silent again. And again, the silence was deafening. “Why were you kneeling on the balcony?” he asked, hoping to get more answers to the string of questions that arose. He knew this was going to be a difficult topic. But he needed to know. He wasn’t sure he could help Kaoru if he was left in the dark regarding Kaoru’s abuse. “You said ‘her’… ‘don’t let ‘her’ hurt me’… your mother?” he asked, softly. He was trying to be gentle… his voice was soft and his tone wasn’t angry or demanding, just a bit concerned.

 Kaoru slumped in relief when Daichi said that he was stubborn enough, even when drunk, to not do anything he didn't want. Maybe he actually wanted to be touched? Maybe Daichi even found him a little attractive? probably not, he was drunk and horny and Kaoru was available. That had to be it. "i'm glad. at least i didn't ruin any chance of friendship." he finally looked up and gave Daichi a small smile. At the suggestion of his eating Kaoru shook his head a little, "Thank you, but i'm not hungry." his stomach still hurt. The man explained why he'd not been home and promised to be home each night. It made something warm up in his chest, but Kaoru knew how important work was for Daichi. "It's ok. I know how much your work means to you and I'm used to being alone. If you feel you are needed at work, then stay. i'll be alright." He smiled again and sipped at his tea, actually enjoying the silence. He'd developed his own slight headache from crying. His smile faded when the inevitable question was asked. Why were you kneeling on the balcony? Kaoru breathed slowly ask Daichi continued, pointing out what he had said while out there. He took a moment before he slowly nodded to Daichi's question. "I-" he started, but he had to clear his throat, "I was always a difficult child. I was unexpected and unwanted. My sister was nearly 16 when I was born and all ready to be at my father's side in the company. they had no need for another." He moved the tea cup between his hands, watching the liquid swirl rather than look at Daichi. "I was never good at anything. it didn't matter how much time mother spent teaching me. how many lessons she paid for, I never was good enough. It was only a matter of time before she became rightfully frustrated. Anyone would when dealing with constant failure." he scoffed softly and shook his head, "She didn't hit me often, just when I really upset her. She didn't leave any marks where they were visible, she was being kind enough to let me hide my shame, but I still didn't learn. When I started middle school there were mandatory swim lessons and she stopped hitting me. The teachers wouldn't understand. they would think she was being a bad mom, but I was the one being a bad kid. she came up with a different, way to punish me." Kaoru sighed and lifted the wrist with the red mark, "she would tie me to a post on the veranda. I would kneel there until she felt I'd learned my lesson...sometimes for days. that's why," he hesitated, but it was too late now, "On our wedding day? i was sick because i'd been punished for speaking out at the dinner. i was out there so long-" he shivered and shook his head, "I shouldn't have spoken out. I should have quietly made a request...or let you speak for yourself. and this morning, when I awoke, when i thought abut what i had done, what i thought i had done, i thought you were going to send me back. i thought, i hoped that if i punished myself you would forgive me. that you wouldn't send me back to-to her. she wouldn't need to hide the marks anymore. I know i'm stupid, i know i can't learn as well as i should. I would be dead before i learned to be a proper son." he felt his eyes well up again and looked down, "I'm sorry you are stuck with a failure like me."((OOC Kaoru, baby!! crying ))

Daichi wasn’t sure if Kaoru fully understood what he meant. But he didn’t seem as upset so maybe that was enough for now? Daichi himself wasn’t sure how he felt and he didn’t want to lead Kaoru on… So, he said nodding, just nodded. He also didn’t say anything when Kaoru said he wasn’t hungry. But he did pause when Kaoru spoke about his work. He shook his head a bit. “No, it’s not okay. I have someone waiting for me… least I can do is have dinner with you… and if I absolutely need to, I can work from home…” he said, taking another bite of his food. The medicine was kicking in and his head ache was subsiding. The food was also helping. Daichi remained silent as Kaoru spoke. At first, he would take a bite here and there. But about half way through, he couldn’t eat anymore. He couldn’t believe was he was hearing. He knew the other families always strived for their kids to excel, be the best in everything. But he was never aware of the extent they would go to make their kids be the best… or the extent parents would go to try and make their kids the ‘most desirable’ to be brides of the main house sons… It made him sick when Kaoru started to talk about his mother’s methods of punishment. No wonder Kaoru was so fearful about doing things wrong… he didn’t really believe he was useless, did he? He didn’t really think he was a terrible person and son just because he didn’t excel in a topic, did he? Daichi felt so angry… He leaned his elbow on the table and rest his chin in his hand, covering his mouth. He felt sick… He took a few moments to think. Daichi felt like he needed to correct Kaoru’s way of thinking. But he wasn’t sure how he could convince Kaoru when the male had been programmed from such a young age to believe he was useless and bad at everything. Maybe he could convince Kaoru to see a therapist… He sighed softly. “You’re mother was wrong…” he shook his head and shifted his body. “And what she did to you was criminal…” He turned and looked at Kaoru. “I’m sorry you had to endure that… I promise I will never send you back to that place…” he said seriously. He wasn’t sure Kaoru believed him… but even if he didn’t believe Daichi, Daichi planned on proving it to Kaoru, some way or another. Daichi reached out and put his hand on Kaoru’s shoulder. “Things will be different for you…. You might now believe me now… but I will never raise my hand in anger towards you…” He was serious! It was never going to happen. He gave Kaoru a small smile before he turned back to his plate and gathered up his dishes. He slipped out of his chair and went to the kitchen. He started doing his dishes. His mind was still whirling. “We should get out of the house today…” he said, hoping a change of scenery would help their moods. “You didn’t get to have pets or be around animals much growing up right? Want to go to the zoo?” he asked. He hoped it didn’t sound too childish…

Kaoru shook his head when Daichi said what his mother had done was wrong. She had just been pushed to her limits by his failures. but he knew he wouldn't be able to change Daichi's mind. he watched the man take the half eaten food to the sink and felt it was his fault Daichi hadn't finished eating. he should have let the other finish before speaking to him. But he looked up at the suggestion of going out together and the zoo? Kaoru's class had gone to the zoo once, but he hadn't been allowed to go. he had staid home to practice for a piano recital. "I'd love to go-" he said, smiling as he stood and put his now cold tea down the drain. "I've never been, but I've seen pictures. Didn't they just open a penguin exhibit?" it had been the hot topic at his school. a lot of his classmates planned to go to the zoo together after their graduation. "what should I wear?" the pictures he'd seen from the zoo's website seemed to show people dressed casually, but he didn't know if Daichi would prefer them to wear more formal clothing. "We're allowed to bring food in, right? do you want me to make you a lunch?" he was getting a little excited, but quickly pulled himself back. He didn't want to seem over eager, "Thank you. I know this morning has been hard for you and offering to take me to the zoo is very kind. But if you would rather stay home, you did say you had a headache. we can go another time." he wanted to make sure Daichi was ok first.

Daichi smiled softly when he saw Kaoru brighten up from the offer. Okay, this was going to work. He could tell the male was excited. But he seemed to be nervous too… baby steps... “I haven’t been to the zoo in years. So I’m not sure what time of exhibits they have. But we can take our time and visit all of them” he said as he dried his dishes and put them away. When asked what they should wear, Daichi thought about it for a moment. “It’s going to be a bit warm… so something light a comfortable. There’ll be a lot of walking too so, wear comfortable shoes.” He said, thinking to himself about his own wardrobe. He’d wear something light a comfortable too. Maybe shorts, a t-shirt and his tennis shoes. Did he have an extra pair of sunglasses for Kaoru? Well, if he didn’t he could buy him a pair at the zoo. Daichi shook his head at the mention of a packed lunch. “We’ll have the full zoo experience. When we are hungry we’ll buy something there.” He said, smiling softly. But his smile was short lived. Daichi shook his head at Kaoru’s comment, reminding himself to take baby steps. He tried to smile again. “Kaoru, if I didn’t want to go, I wouldn’t have offered.” He explained. “My headache is subsiding, and I’ll bring meds just in case. He pause and smiled softly. “Now let’s go change so we can get going…” He said, gesturing the male to the bedroom. Daichi went to his closet and pulled out a pair of shorts. He laid them on his side of the bed and went back to the closet to find a tank top to go with it. He set the shirt next to his shorts and pulled out his tennis shoes. He was going very casual. Daichi waited until Kaoru was in the bathroom to change. He slipped quickly into his outfit and carried his shoes over to the front door. He grabbed his sunglasses, wallet, cell phone, and keys and slipped them into his various pockets. Soon they were in the car, driving away from the apartment and towards the zoo. It was about 30 minutes away. Daichi played the radio in the background as he drove with one hand on the wheel and the other resting out the window. “What exhibit do you want to see first?” He asked, smiling softly.

Kaoru smiled again when Daichi said he was feeling better and that he would take medicine as well just in case. "Casual, right." he followed Daichi into the bedroom and subtly watched what he chose before picking out his own outfit. He had to have a pair of shorts somewhere...Eventually he found a pair of dress shorts and a tee shirt to wear. He changed in the bathroom, they may have been naked together last night, but Daichi didn't remember and Kaoru was too embarrassed to change in front of him. He came out and found an old pair of running shoes from gym to wear. Soon they were in the car and he couldn't keep the smile from his face. "Where first?"He thought, trying to remember what was at the zoo and where everything was located, "maybe we should just choose left or right and go that direction first. I really don't know much about the zoo, I just heard my classmates talking about the penguins." He wondered for a moment if there was a chance they would run into any of his old classmates, but it had been a week since their graduation. he was sure they had already gone by now. "I do want to see the tigers. I know that much." he thought tigers were so graceful and beautiful, he couldn't wait to see one in real life. "What about you? is there a favorite part of the zoo or something you want to see?" he wanted to learn a little about Daichi as well. They were actually going to spend time together and Kaoru didn't want to miss this chance.

Daichi just nodded when Kaoru suggested they just go left or right once they get there. There were different paths they could take, if Daichi remembered correctly. Each path took you by different habitats, so eventually you would see the entire zoo. Daichi rose an eyebrow and glanced over at the male with a smile when he mentioned the tigers. “Tigers, huh?” he asked, nodding slightly. “Well then, we’ll make sure to go by the tigers.” He turned his attention back to the road. It had been years since the last time he went to the zoo. He wondered how much the place had changed. His fingers strummed on the steering wheel as they stopped at a red light. “Hmm?” Daichi thought about Kaoru’s question. “I really like the panda exhibit.” He said, smiling, thinking back to the last time he visited the panda exhibit. “Last time I was there, they had a baby panda. He was just a ball of fluff next to his mom… it was adorable.” He said, feeling very nostalgic. Soon signs for the Zoo started to pop up. Daichi followed the signs for the parking lot. He paid the attendant for parking and he quickly parked the car. “Ready?” he asked, smiling softly as he unbuckled his seatbelt. He stepped out of the car and met Kaoru at the rear. He locked the car and they headed out of the parking structure towards the entrance. There were many families with children in tow, pulling at their parent’s hands to hurry. Excitement was in the air, children were giggling and happy, the sun was warm… beautiful day for a day at the zoo. They got in line to buy their tickets, and Daichi paid. Even if Kaoru offered to help pay, Daichi turned him down. Soon, tickets in hand, they headed to the gates and entered the Zoo. Daichi subtly watched Kaoru’s reaction from the corner of his eye. There were peacocks walking around, feathers out, showing off. They were beautiful. Some of the visitors were trying to get close enough to take pictures with the magnificent birds. “Want to take a picture with the peacock?” he asked, pulling his phone out and gesturing towards the birds.

Kaoru smiled, thinking about how cute a little panda would be. "I bet it really was adorable. I hope there is another one." he nodded when Daichi asked if he was ready and got out to meet the man at the back of the car. he looked around, seeing all of the families and smiled to himself as they walked up to buy tickets. He realized he didn't have any money, but Daichi paid without thought. Kaoru bit his lip, he felt bad that Daichi had to pay for everything. Maybe Kaoru should get a job? He didn't do anything during the day except clean, surely he could find something? He didn't want to be more of a burden than he already was. That thought was pulled away quickly as they walked into the zoo itself. Kaoru's eyes widened when he saw the peacocks. they were even more beautiful than the pictures he'd seen. When Daichi asked if he wanted to take a picture Kaoru shook his head, "i wouldn't know how to approach them and I don't want to frighten the poor things, but could we take pictures of them instead?" he got out his own phone and pulled up the camera. "I could take a picture of you with them, their tails match your eyes." he heard a loud roar and his eyes widened, "that was a lion!"He turned his head to the right, where it had come from. A sign read 'Welcome to the Safari'. "Can we go there first?" he asked, sounding just like the children all around them, but he didn't really notice. "T here's a map!" he hurried over and saw there were smaller maps they could take along with them. He happily grabbed one and looked it over while showing Daichi at the same time. "The zoo is so large! And there are so many animals! Is it really possible to see them all in one day?"

Daichi chuckled a bit when Kaoru refused to take a picture with the peacocks. He lifted his phone up and snapped a picture, but rose an eyebrow when Kaoru suggested he take a picture with the peacocks. “And what makes you think I know how to approach them without frightening them?” he asked, using Kaoru’s words against him. But he chuckled a bit, stepping away from Kaoru to walk over to the peacocks. The birds were so used to people they didn’t even notice Daichi as he stepped in closer. He was still a few feet away, but the peacock’s tail was fanned out behind him. Daichi slipped his phone and his hand in one of his pockets and paused to give Kaoru a chance to take a picture. Maybe if Daichi showed Kaoru it would be alright, Kaoru would open up a bit more, do things he wouldn’t normally do. Daichi turned his head towards the roar, then back to Kaoru. He smiled and walked back over to the male. “Sure.” He said, chuckling softly. He liked how excited Kaoru was getting. Kaoru ran to the map and Daichi followed behind him, at a much slower pace. He looked over Kaoru’s shoulder at the map, noticing a few new habitats he had never been to. Daichi looked down at the map Kaoru was holding. “I’m not sure. Let’s see how much we can see today. We can always come back.” He said, turning back towards the Safari zone. “Come on Kaoru, let’s go find the lions.” He said, smiling. He kept one hand in his pocket as they walked. He made sure to keep one eye on Kaoru as they walked. Last thing he wanted to was to lose the excited male in the zoo. It wasn’t hard to find the lions. Many people were surrounding the cage to get a look at the lion and lionesses. There were even a few cubs running around playing with a plastic ball. “Kaoru, look at the cubs.” He said with a smile, pointing the best he could in the direction of the cubs. Daichi pulled his phone out to take pictures. He was such to sneak in a few pictures of Kaoru when he wasn’t paying attention. Along the side of the cages were plaques with information about the different species. Daichi pretty much let Kaoru lead… he was enjoying Kaoru’s excitement. The safari zone was large. Daichi heard an elephant trumpet not too far away. He turned to see Kaoru’s reaction.

Kaoru was happy to take a picture of Daichi with the peacocks. The man looked so much better than he did anyways. They looked at a few of the smaller exhibits while on the way to the lions, but once there Kaoru stood stunned. He nodded when Daichi pointed out the cubs. "they're beautiful," he said softly, smiling as they played with the ball. "Oh!" he laughed as one jumped on top of the ball only for it to roll over and the cub to land on his face. "Did you see?" he asked, looking to Daichi with a grin. "I should-" he got out his own phone and took a video of the cubs playing. "So cute! are all baby cats like this?" he asked as he put his phone away. "Daichi, have you spent much time around animals?" he moved closer to the glass wall when a family moved away. One of the cubs got curious and came over to play with some grass waiving in the wind near them. "Hello little guy-" Kaoru crouched down, but the sound of an elephant trumpeting made him look up. "What do I do? I want to stay and watch them, but I want to see the other animals too." He looked at the cub a little sadly before standing, "Let's go now before we end up here all day." he was pretty sure he'd be happy to do so, too.

Daichi laughed as he watched the cubs play with the plastic ball. The poor baby landed right on his face. Daichi nodded to Kaoru as he snapped a few pictures on his phone. “I’m not sure if its true for all cats, but house cats do stuff like that… at least kittens do.” He said, speaking loud enough to be heard over the excited children. Daichi shrugged at Kaoru’s next question. “I’ve had a cat, couple of fish… in primary school we would take trips to zoos and aquariums…” He answered, trying to think of more. “I’ve always wanted a dog though…” he smiled at the thought. “But I’m not home enough to take care of it… well, I wasn’t home enough…before…” he shrugged again. He was going to change his working hours… so maybe a dog would be doable now… But Kaoru would be home a lot more that Daichi would be… he would have to be okay with it too… maybe he could bring it up to Kaoru later. Daichi snapped a picture of Kaoru and the cub. He slipped his phone back into his pocket before Kaoru could notice. Daichi smiled, chuckling a bit at Kaoru’s reluctance. “We still have a lot of zoo to cover…” he urged, trying to encourage Kaoru to leave the adorable cubs to see something new. Daichi laughed softly again when Kaoru finally moved away and they head towards the elephant habitat. The enclosure was huge, giving the massive creatures plenty of room to roam around. Three large grey beasts stood in the middle of the enclosure, using their trunks to drink. Daichi moved over to one of the plaques and read the information. “It says here, elephants eat away where from 200 to 600 pounds of food a day.” He said out loud, a bit surprised. “Apparently, they have an endless appetite.” He chuckled softly and looked back over to the elephants. Daichi pulled out the map to see where they were and which direction they should go next. “Hey, want to go to the Asian exhibits next?” he asked, pointing to the panda exhibit, which was one zone over. Kaoru also wanted to see the tigers, which were on the way to the panda exhibit. Daichi was having fun, watching Kaoru, sneaking in pictures, exploring the zoo with him… maybe this forced situation wouldn’t be so bad? Daichi pushed down the thought and focused on the day before him. No point in thinking about the maybes…

Kaoru watched the elephants but all he could really think of is something he'd read about how their used to be elephants trained to kill people by stepping on them. Sometimes the death was quick, and they would step on the head straight away. Sometimes not. They were beautiful and interesting, but he couldn't get that image out of his head when he'd read it and it came back now he was seeing the animals for themselves. No thanks. "Asian?" Kaoru looked at the map and nodded, "yes, let's go there. you wanted to see the pandas, right? i hope they have a cub this time too. I read they have a hard time having babies in captivity, though. Maybe we can get lucky." he saw the tigers were on the way and all thoughts of medieval execution techniques left his mind, "Can we stop by the tigers on the way? sorry, I know you want to see the pandas, but it's the same direction." he didn't want to seem selfish for going to what he wanted first. Daichi didn't seem to mind, though. "You said you had a cat, what was it's name?" and Daichi said he wanted a dog but wasn't home enough. maybe Kaoru could figure out a way to surprise him with one. he was home, so he could take care of it and then Daichi could have something he'd always wanted but hadn't been able to get. "What kind of dogs do you like? big, small?" he asked as they walked. "Maybe a silky black one to match your hair." he teased softly as they rounded a corner to the tiger exhibit. there were two, one pacing back and forth along the fence and another lounging in the shade next to a pond that was fed by stream going down a small mountain of rocks that the tigers could climb and lay on. "Look at them-" he whispered as he got closer, "they're so beautiful!" without thinking, he reached out and took Daichi's hand pulling him a little closer to himself as well as the glass wall. "I hated The Jungle Book as a kid because the tiger was the bad guy. I liked everything else, just not that." he smiled at Daichi, happy for the first time in longer than he could think of. "you're amazing, I planned to spend the day on the var-," he caught himself, "porch, repenting for last night and yet here we are seeing such amazing creatures...thank you." he quickly pressed a kiss to the side of Daichi's mouth, but blushed as he quickly pulled away. Though gay couples were not uncommon anymore, he didn't think Daichi would want people to think of him as that. "Should we see the pandas now?" he asked softly.

Kaoru seemed rather quiet while they watched the elephants… maybe he didn’t like elephants? Daichi nodded when Kaoru spoke, pointing to the panda exhibit in the zone over. “Yes, that is true. But I heard that there was a huge increase in cubs this year!” He said, a bit more excited than he had planned. Daichi nodded again when Kaoru mentioned the tigers. “Ya, it’s on the way so it makes sense to stop by them.” He said as he folded up the map again. They started to walk towards the tigers, taking their time, glancing at some of the other exhibits as they walked and talked. “My older brother named her Butters… She was a creamed colored short hair.” He answered, smiling softly at the memory. “She loved being cuddled and pet. And she was an excellent mouse hunter.” He added. Daichi took a moment to look at one of the bird exhibits before he answered Kaoru’s next question. “I actually like smaller dogs better. I think the smaller they are the cuter they get. It’s like having a permanent puppy.” He laughed a bit at his explanation. But all attention turned to the tigers as they rounded the corner. They were pretty impressive. And the look of awe on Kaoru’s face was priceless. Daichi was glad he thought of this. He really liked seeing Kaoru so happy. Daichi stared down at their conjoined hands for a moment before he smiled softly. He stepped in closer to Kaoru, and found that he didn’t hate the closeness. While Daichi didn’t want a wife, maybe, just maybe, he wouldn’t mind a lover? He shook his head slightly and turned his attention to Kaoru. He smiled softly and looked at the tigers. He imagined a small Kaoru getting upset over a cartoon movie. But his smile faded into a soft frown as Kaoru continued to speak. He turned to say something, to try and correct Kaoru’s thinking. But before he could, Kaoru had leaned up and pressed a kiss to the side of his lips. Daichi was taken aback by the action for a moment. He was silent for a moment as his mind tried to register. But in the end, he just smiled softly and looked back at the tigers. “Let’s take a few pictures first?” he suggested, pulling out his phone. He snapped a few pictures of the tigers before he got an idea. “Kaoru, come here.” He flipped the camera on his phone and leaned down a bit so he could take a picture of the two of them. He had to lean in pretty close to get a good picture. “There. I’ll send it to you later.” He said with a smile as he straightened back up. It was a short walk to the panda exhibit. Daichi smiled when he saw his favorite black and white mammal. Attention was drawn in to one of the trees. Daichi followed the tree up and smiled brightly before he put his hand on Kaoru’s shoulder and pointed up. “Look Kaoru, up in the tree.” He said, excitedly. Up in the tree, wedged between a trunk and a branch, was a panda cub. The mother panda was at the base of the tree, eating bamboo. “Aren’t they cute?” he asked, pulling Kaoru with him as he snagged a spot at the railing. The exhibit was pretty busy, so he slipped Kaoru in front of him and he stood behind him, rather close because of the crowd. “Should we take another picture?” he asked, rather close to Kaoru’s ear. He had no ulterior motives, but he didn’t realize how his actions could be misinterpreted. Maybe he subconsciously wanted to be misinterpreted.

Kaoru blushed as Daichi leaned in close for the picture. he smiled, but he was looking at his husband, not the camera. Maybe the kiss had been a good thing? Maybe Daichi didn't mind being close to him? They left the tigers and walked to the panda exhibit, thinking that over, but he was quickly distracted when he saw the cub. "Oh my-" he whispered as Daichi got them closer. "it's so tiny!" at first he didn't notice the closeness of the man behind him, but when Daichi whispered in his ear a chill ran up his back. His breath caught as he felt a now familiar warmth in his stomach, "I would like that," he whispered back, "In a minute." he gathered his courage and leaned back those few centimeters between them, touching his back to Daichi's front. "is-is this ok?" he asked. His entire back felt so warm! he never really was touched in a good way and this? this felt really good. "we should take that picture," he said, but he didn't want to move away from Daichi's warmth. He took out his own phone to bide for time and took a picture of the mama and baby before reluctantly turning around. Only to realize that being front to front made their closeness that much worse. He flushed clear up to his ear as he looked up at Daichi, their faces only a breath apart. "um-the photo," he said, his eyes on the other man's lips. he was remembering last night. Remembering his first kiss and how amazing it had been and wanting that again. Kaoru licked his lips and swallowed before clearing his throat, "shall we?" he asked, holding his phone up lamely.

Daichi didn’t think much about their closeness or his tone. He was too focused on the pandas, snapping a few pictures with his camera. He felt Kaoru lean back, but he didn’t move away. He saw no reason to. The area was a bit crowded, but they found a good spot against the gate and Daichi wasn’t about to risk losing their spot until they were ready to leave. It was Kaoru’s words that made him think their closeness was strange. He looked at the back of Kaoru’s head for a moment confused before he nodded. “Ya, it’s fine.” He said softly. Still slightly confused, he just shook his head softly and took another picture of the panda as it started to play with a blue crate. Kaoru spoke again and Daichi started to wrap his arms around the male to snap a photo. But then Kaoru turned around, and their closeness hit Daichi like a ton of bricks. They were really close! Just a few inches separated them. Daichi studied Kaoru’s face as it turned beet red. Blue eyes studied brown before moving down Kaoru’s chin line to his lips. He had the sudden urge to kiss the male in front of him. Did they kiss last night? Had Kaoru enjoyed it? Damn it! Daichi wanted to remember. Daichi was pulled from his thoughts by Kaoru’s words. His blue eyes darted back up and he tried to smile softly. Hopefully his staring hadn’t been too noticeable. “Ya, here…” He put his hand on Kaoru’s shoulder and spun him back around so he was facing the panda exhibit and had his back to Daichi’s chest. His arms wrapped around Kaoru and he held his phone out in front of them. He leaned his head in next to Kaoru’s, totally invading the male’s personal space. “Say cheese.” He said before he smiled and his thumb snapped the picture. Daichi dropped his arms and stood tall again, looking down at his phone. He smiled. “Good picture.” He said, turning the camera to show Kaoru. Daichi then slipped the phone into his back pocket and hooked his thumb in a belt loop. “I’m getting hungry, want to go find a place to eat?” he asked. (OOC: Want to start skipping ahead?)
