This was going to be so much fun! Vega felt like he hadn't REALLY gotten to do anything fun since he came to the academy. Sure, there were things to do, and he wasn't ever bored or unhappy, but he was finally going on a TRIP! And neither his brother or sister were coming. That was both frightening and exciting. He stashed his large bag under the bus, his satchel staying at his hip, before getting jostled around a little as he tried to get on. He had to wait his turn for a few people to push past him before he climbed onto the bus. It looked like most of the seats already had someone in them, so it looked like he was going to have to pick someone and sit by them.

He looked around, then spotted a fallen boy clutching his bag. Sure, why not? He walked over to him and smiled. "Anyone setting here?"

It had been a while since she'd ventured out like this. The last time she had gone on a trip was to the Forbidden Forest. And while the experience wasn't wholly pleasant, she hadn't really... minded the idea of never leaving the forest. She didn't have many friends, and being from the cache, she didn't have any family. All the friends she had, she had made on the trip. Well, hopefully this trip would be different. It wasn't supposed to be anything terrible (though she supposed last time, it wasn't supposed to be terrible either.)

After loading her bag under the bus, she climbed into the cab with everyone else and searched for a seat. Wait... Wait a moment. She spotted a familiar face. That couldn't be... could it? She took a few long strides to get closer. It was!

"Nadinia." She said pleasantly. "It's good to see you again. May I sit with you?"

User ImageThomas slithered up to the bus, a canvas backpack slung over one shoulder and both hands sitting in his vest pockets. So, here he was, about to return to the homeland... so to speak. His infamous grin twitched briefly on his face; it had been a while since he felt so unsettled. Glancing behind him for just a moment, he chuckled lightly and made his way onto the cart.

Glancing down the aisles, his multiple eyes passed over everyone who was seated. He recognised one or two from places he'd worked, but only in passing. His eyes barely passed over the children - honestly he was mainly on this trip to meet other chaperones and visit his hometown - but they focused on one or two individuals. Well, he was in for a long trip, he had plenty of time to mingle.
'May as well start at the front.' He thought with a smirk.

Noticing the two seated near the front, Tom oozed in front of them, resting an arm on the wall next to Arthur.
"What are two demons like you doing in a place like this? And at this hour..." He asked with a grin, the stitches over his mouth straining with the pressure. The tip of his tail swayed lightly behind him, the two eyes on his hips focused on one man each.

Khepri sat near the middle, she was currently so into a book she didn't really pay attention to what is going on around her. She squinted at her book as she reached into bag and pulled out some finger snacks. She likes to munch while she reads.
"Oh no" she let out as she fumbled the book and her snacks on her lap and the book went tumbling to the floor. "Now I lost my page" she said as she frowned.

User ImageWhen Cyril had expressed an interest in the proposed trip to the Swirling Sands Desert, his councilor had signed him up immediately. It had happened so fast, Cyril hadn't had a chance to object, not that he much wanted to. There were going to be some other nightmares from the Academy going, and some chaperones from the universities. His councilor had stressed that it would be a relatively small group, nothing to worry about. They’d even provided a helpful list of things to pack for the weekend trip and things he should likely carry in his bag for the bus. So he had packed, checked, checked again, and packed some more to make sure he had everything for the trip.

He’d stuffed his suitcase into the compartment, loitering until there wasn’t much of a crowd trying to get onto the bus. Six am was much too early for there to be this big a crowd. Fidgeting with his hands, Cyril hesitantly climbed the stairs, murmuring a quick hello to the pair of nightmares waiting up at the top. He quickly surveyed the bus, delighted to see an open pair of seats near the front.

Clutching his bag to him, the geist squeezed past an older nightmare, then slid into the seat, scooting until he could look out the window. His familiar, a blue and white cockatriel, was clinging to his hair. When Cyril had started packing for the trip, the critter had attached himself to him and refused to be left behind. He’d given in, though the multitude of Band-Aids on his fingers attested to how hard he had tried to leave him behind.

Bag: chapstick, scarf, phone, charger, external battery, small history book, pencil/pen, notebook, fidget toy, snack box, water, first aid kit

Iron was visibly grateful for the other demon being so willing to give up the spare seat, vocally giving a polite ' thank you' as he took the now vacant seat. He sat upright, and proper, as was heavily instilled into him. But sitting next to a stranger... he'd also have to rely on his proper etiquette teachings to help calm his nerves.

Introductions were normal and easy, he could do that no problem! Extending a hand, he too followed the appropriate protocol, "It is a pleasure to meet you, Arthur. I am Iron." the mention of the trip to be made his bashful smile wriggle a little into a slightly more anxious position, "Yes, though I am a little nervous as well. I have not traveled all that much. What of you?" his eyes only spared a small flicker towards the remaining portions of the bus that were getting increasingly filled... it was going to be quite loud, wasn't it...?

His attention was pulled again when another voice pointed right at him, and Arthur, made his eyes draw up to meet the hallowed naga, causing his brows to raise ever so slightly at the clearly unique appearance. But his mothers had taught him well to conceal ones surprise when it came to cordial interactions. Managing his collected smile, he replied calmly, "We are here for the trip, as I take it you are as well?" the question was found a bit strange to Iron, as he was sure that it was quite clear to why they were all there.... but he wasn't the brightest when it came to social interactions and cues... he was still learning!

User Image Aedus smiled as Niamh sat down with him, he had wanted to visit her when she was recovering but it hadn't been allowed so he had lost her for months as she recovered and then he was busy with his familiars and his fears that she would blame him for what happened to her. Wondering if he had cursed her life forever because he couldn't save her. It should have been him not her that suffered this fate. Sweet kind Nimah should have had a charmed life not this. He nodded "Yes I came on this trip for the familiars and you? Familiars too?" Aedus remembered the day he gave Nimah a crocobee his most precious gift he had ever given to another. "It has been a long time.." He wasn't sure if he should ask, so many thing. He wanted to ask if she hated him, instead he asked "How have you been?"

User Image Leto had taken to staring out the window to wait for the the vechile to start when suddenly he was being addressed. Turning his head to look at them he blinked... that was a lot of red. He briefly wondered if it was their favorite color or they where wearing it just to match. However he really needed to answer so he would just have to ponder random thoughts later.

"No. Feel free to take it if you want." Leto replied softly. He knew eventually it was only a matter of time until he got a seat partner. However should he also introduce himself. It wasn't like they where going to go six hours with out speaking. Oh he was getting nervous and rambling. He'd just give out his name later if they did talk.

Vega smiled as he waited for the other kid to say something. He felt a little nervous that he was taking so long to answer. Was he waiting for someone? He wondered if he should just move on... but then he said it was ok. "Thanks!" He scooted himself into the seat beside the fallen.

Leto wouldn't have to wait long for Vega to start talking. "I'm Vega." he held his hand out to the other kid, though it would be a sort of awkward handshake. "Gee, there sure are a lot of people on this trip, aren't there? I've never gone on a trip like this before, have you?"

Arthur took Iron's hand with a broad smile and gave it a casual shake. He nodded politely while his riding companion spoke. Arthur tilted his head just a slight as he contemplated the return question. "Hm, I guess I haven't much either. I was born and raised in Asphodel then simply moved closer to Grendel." He scoffed at his own lack of travel and shook his head. "I guess this will be both our first tastes of adventure," Arthur commented with a sparkle of excitement in his eyes.

Since Arthur had been subtly watching everyone walk on from his spot so the Naga's presence didn't surprise him at all. What did surprise him was that the stranger had attempted what sounded like a flirt and it failed on Iron. His seat buddy's response, however, earned a suppressed chuckle from Arthur. He bit his lip from smiling too hard as he looked up at the Naga. "We were actually just discussing that this is both of ours first adventures. We're quiet excited. How are you doing this morning?"

Jacintha had decided to go on this trip to attempt to whined down from her busy everyday life as a senior at the academy. She was going to be finishing school soon and after that going to school for business, and all of that had been causing her to get a little out of wack for all of her teachers. Her normal hyper active attention span had only gotten worse the more she tried to do, and many of her teachers were at times begging her to stay seated and not start messing with things as they tried to teach the class. Her discovery of fidget spheres had helped a bit, but she probably should get away from everything for a bit in order to calm herself down.

As she got on the bus, music player on and headphones (earbuds to be precise) in her ears as she listened to her favorite band, she thought of how much she would of loved to have Caron go on this trip with her, but he had been busy with school and felt he didn't have the time to do. Jacintha knew he would do great things with his life, but she wasn't so sure now about herself. All she knew was she wanted to become a merchant, but she didn't know what she wanted to sell or to whom. She barely even knew about the world around her, finding that evident as she looked though a book on the location they were going to. Along with the book however she had brought a few other items, dried fruit snacks to snack on, her fidget sphere, a notebook and writing utensils to jot anything about this trip on, a camera to show Caron what she saw, a magic powered fan, and two change of clothes to help her deal with the weather that would be there, whether it got hot or cold. She may seem like a super hyper imp who wouldn't like to plan, but she did like being prepared to some degree.

It didn't take her long to figure out where she wanted to sit, giving off an excited smile when she saw what appeared to be an anxious junior all alone. Containing her excitement the best she could, the imp went over to them and took off her headphones, the sound of the band she was listening to coming out a bit ", Hello, may I sit by you today? I don't have anyone here that I know as of yet."

Items brought in Bag: music player, earbuds, book on Swirling Sands, fidget sphere, dried fruit snacks, notebook, writing utensils, camera, magically powered fan, warm and cold weather change of clothes

User ImageThomas' grin widened at the first demon's response; so he was one of those literal types, huh? Fun. "You got me there," He said casually, waving his hand idly with a half-shrug. Turning his eyes to the other demon, Tom nodded slightly as his grin spread. "First adventure? Going a bit far for that, ain't you?" He oozed, his tail going from a sway to slight flicks, "Don't want to start somewhere... closer?" His grin had faded slightly as his eyes shifted to the door. Was it too late to leave?

Sighing, he looked back to the blue demon once more, though the eyes on his hips hovered over the other one.
"How am I doing?" He repeated, his grin playing over his face again. "Usually when I see this hour, it's from the other direction. Can't say I'm all that fond of waking up so early, but the view's nice," He commented, his gaze shifting to the first demon he'd spoken to. He doubted Sir Straight-and-proper would notice this one either but it was in his nature to slip them in.

User ImageHe surveyed the area around the bus. Not many nightmares left to get on the bus. . .unless there were some latecomers. Hopefully there would be room for everyone and he wouldn’t have to si--!!

He was startled mid-thought as someone piped up from beside him. His luminescent patches flared and he jumped, jerking his head around to see who had spoken. “O-oh, um, yeah, you can sit next to me if you want,” his voice faded as he spoke and he unconsciously toyed with the edge of his shirt. “Lemme just, get these out of the way for you,” his voice was on the softer side, but still audible. He hoped. He snagged his bag out of the seat, plopping it gently between his legs instead.

“I’m Cyril,” he introduced himself with a hesitantly outstretched hand. “D-don’t mind Dacre, he can be a bit. . . troublesome.” As if to completely contradict his words, the small cockatriel was peacefully dozing on top of his head. Just barely above the murmuring of other students, he could faintly hear the music.

User Image Frit had been running late, and she was not happy about it. She saw the buss start up, its lack of horses always a wonder to her, and sped up her running, determined not to miss this exciting opportunity. The nightmare made it, and leaned against the side of the buss, panting. She should probably get out more, and do things like run, to get in shape, but that would take time away from her true love, her experiments. The nightmare caught her breath and stood up straight, eyeing the other kids around the buss. It was a surprising mix of ages, with seniors, juniors, and freshlings all excitedly awaiting the destination.

She scanned the buss, noticing all the empty seats. It had looked like a normal school buss, or as normal as Nightmare Academy school-buses always looked, and she found a seat next to a particular looking fay. "This seat taken?" The girl asked, indicating the seat next to the other junior. As she moved to take the seat she noticed the book in the other's hands, and inquired, "Good book?"

It was reassuring, in a way, knowing that someone else was here and not as seasoned an adventurer as he was. Iron had started getting used to, and realizing, that he'd had a very uneventful life compared to most others... so he felt rather behind in most aspects he now encountered. But it was nice to know that there might be others out there like himself.

Smiling a little more at Arthur, he was prepared to comment on the matter, but kept feeling those eyes from the naga on him. It was hard not to notice, especially when in the corner of his own gaze he could see the hip ones squared right onto him. Coupled with the hallows good point, Iron let his gaze drop bashfully to his lap, "Well... I'd like to gain more knowledge and information of the Swirling Sands if I can. I... know someone from there." his voice was a little quieter as his mind became filled with all things Ama. If there was a chance to get closer to the pretty neko, the demon would take it!

However... he had noticed the sluggishness to a few individuals, making his gaze shift between Arthur and Tom. "Perhaps we will stop somewhere along the trip for coffee." he suggested. As a morning person... he didn't share their same plight, but as one who struggled to stay up past midnight--especially when bogged down with work--Iron knew the magical wonders that coffee could provide.
