"You swim still though right? And carve the thingys," she tried to draw a squiggly rune in the air with her finger.
"Well I'm not. That's a terrible way to look at the world. Just because Lawr did it?"
She fished her phone out and started flicking through screens and then finding what she wanted, began doodling with her fingertip on her screen.

"I can look at it however I want. If you want to be all roses and rainbows, then go ahead. I'm not changing my viewpoint." He frowned and paused. "Runics are just work. It's hardly appreciated as art. Swimming isn't a art. It's a sport."

"I wasn't saying they were art. I was saying they were unique skills that still contributed, even if they aren't drawing." Melody crossed her arms and then crossed her legs in the opposite direction.
"At least my viewpoint doesn't have me fantasizing about mass carnage and death."

"HAH!" the sharp laugh came suddenly and was just as quickly silenced.
"No." She turned to him, finally staring at him. "You are missing out. You are missing all the opportunities for things to get better by assuming they wont. By not even trying."

"Too tired to try. I like this more. It feels more stable." He gave up drawing and exited the program and looked out into the ocean. His eyes narrowed as he tried to make out anything.

Melody turned over her phone for Melvin to see a smiling stick figure with blonde styled hair surrounded by other smiling stick figures, some with figure-8 boobs and others without. "Too tired for maybe that someday?"

She frowned deeply at him. "Let me know how that works out for you cause it's definitely a turn off. Y'know, being a whiny emo kid and all." She glanced back at the water.
"You should just dye your hair black and call it a day." Then went quiet again.

"Hair dye ruins your hair. I like blonde and if I do any drastic image changes then I'd come off as someone going off of a hard breakup like so many teenage girls who cut their hair and change their clothes."
He started to make nest little lines of runic symbols.
"Though I've debated cutting my hair."
