"I'm aware of that, making my father understand is another story." He understood part of his protectiveness but it did make having a life hard. "I ... wanted to actually be able to spend time with you without someone watching us. I wouldn't have been able to do that with them along." When he finished off the biscuit he picked up his tea again. "And I am sure Aldara will have fun exploring everything as well."

"I don't know about that. There are a few places here that only I have access to as the Knight of Mag Mell. I'm sure we could have spent some time without the watchful gaze of anyone else." He smirked softly, lightly teasing the other man as he finally reached for a biscuit to nibble on himself. "That said," he held up the cookie as he made a gesture with his hand, "it will be nice to not have to make excuses or find ways to slip you away from anyone other than the Lady Corvus and I'm sure that she will be enjoying her freedom enough to let you enjoy your quiet as well."

Jinyue nodded, smiling softly. "It will nice to just get to enjoy myself while getting to spend time with you. No hiding or pretending or having to sneak around." Getting to steal Arlen into his room had been nice but it would be better without having to act like it needed to be some secret thing. He was looking forward to having the other man to himself. "She might not appreciate it as much as I do but she'll enjoy it."

They chatted idly together over tea before falling into a comfortable silence. He couldn't help but watch the other man as he relaxed, committing the little changes in the way Jinyue looked as the light shifted across him to memory. Silly, really, that the Senshi of Lanterns had only just arrived and he was already thinking of how he wanted to remember him when he was gone. Arlen shifted in his seat as restlessness kicked in, rising to his feet soon after. He extended a hand to the other man, smile on his lips. "Would you like me to show you to your room?"

He had almost expected the silence to get awkward but it hadn't. It was comfortable being with Arlen even if they weren't doing anything. The whole aura of the island seemed to wrap around this place and make a little pocket of calm he didn't want to ever leave. Jinyue had been absorbed in the calm quiet that Arlen's question startled him slightly. "Oh, yes ...I didn't mean to keep you here so long."

"You didn't-- You weren't." His brow furrowed slightly as he shifted the hand he had offered to the other man, bringing it up to gently brush a strand of hair back behind Jinyue's ear. "I could easily just keep you here, but I caught that last yawn and I would be a terrible host if I didn't at least show you where you can rest if you need to. Will you allow me to take you there, Jin?"

"I wasn't yawning." His nose scrunched slightly as he looked up at Arlen. Reaching up he caught the knights hand, lacing their fingers together, as he stood. He was a bit tired but he hadn't wanted to mention anything in the event that it cut their time together shorter. Without really thinking he leaned in and brushed a chaste kiss against Arlen's lips, cheeks flushing as he leaned back and realized what he did. "I'd like to see my room, yes."

His breath caught as he felt the other man's lips touch his and he froze, not wanting to startle his companion if he moved. When Jinyue rocked back he leaned forward, brushing his lips to the senshi's temple. He was smiling as he rocked back, eyes lingering on Jinyue's face before he turned to lead the other man away from his 'study'. Their path lead down away from the hall towards a quiet, private section reserved for the knight's personal guests. He lead Jinyue towards a larger bungalow overlooking the sea. "They've put you and Aldara in the same space, but the rooms are on opposite sides. Yours has the better view." He smirked softly as he nudged the other man towards the steps leading up towards the door. "Your things should have been delivered by now, and I did make sure that they put you in one of the bungalows with a private bath."

He was surprised at the returned kiss but didn't comment, instead trying to make his blush go away. "You know she might tease you about that if she finds out." He laughed softly as he carefully climbed the stairs for the bungalow. "Probably something about playing favorites and making sure I get the best of everything."He nudged the door to the bungalow open, glad to see that their bags had indeed been delivered.

"What makes you think that her view isn't going to be the best for her?" His brow quirked, light smirk on his lips as he leaned against the banister. "I'll leave you to get settled and leave word with one of the acolytes to check on you to see what you decide about joining us in the hall for dinner or having your meal sent up here."

He smiled, looking back over at Arlen while pulling another robe out of his pack. "Thank you Arlen. For all of this." He didn't know if he deserved all of it but he was going to enjoy his little vacation. It felt good to get away from home again, better that it wasn't for work, and he was going to soak in the feeling of Mag Mell as long as he could.
