As the queen changed direction again to fly straight up, Grenth beats his wings quickly to follow, noticing that there were others ahead of him but... he was still keeping up. He was just... saving his strength. Strategy! Yes.

Stars above seemed to glimmer, singing some silent song to the dragons below. The moons were the only possible illumination for them now, but even that seemed not enough. Only Uridith's voice and smell and the sound of her wings in the air told Kraketh where she was as he twisted and turned to follow. As surely as the Dawn Sisters shine in the sky at dawn on both continents, and at dusk in the south, we will keep following! He started to beat his wings harder, now actively trying to catch up. The time for lagging and biding was over, he was determined to be the one to catch the queen.
Somehow, he wasn't sure how, Jacomus found the ability to walk straight and with the usual confidence and swagger he'd charmed many a person with in various sea holds. He'd only just made it to a chair when his legs finally gave out, the displeasure at such a weakness of his knees quickly shuffled from mind as he focused on the woman. Why did she seem familiar to him? Somewhere in his mind, he concluded that he'd probably seen her in passing at some point in the past, before he'd turned to piracy out of boredom.
Avroth roared, no time for fancy words now, his body burned with desire, adrenaline and the effort of keeping up. He struggled to maintain his position among the leading males, dropping behind. A lesser male might give up but Avroth wasn't lesser, he was average, so he kept flying, up and up

It took almost all Uridith's strength to force herself to the height she felt most apt. From this high the weyr and hold, or what of them was visible, glittered as small and faintly as the stars above. Night had taken the sky in full by then, darkness blanketing the world below and leaving her and her flock the lone vibrant specks to be seen. Her nearly vertical ascent slowed, slowed, and halted as the gold twisted, corkscrewing upwards to stop, hung like a star and utterly still for one, two, ten beats of her paired hearts. It was almost time to turn back towards the weyr, almost time to make her choice...but not yet.
Her flight might not have been rife with acrobatic twists, or full of dangerous terrain challenges the chase off those males not worth her time, but it had done its job over the nearly full candlemark that had already passed. As she hovered among the males she was deciding. Picking and choosing those that had won her interest, and those not worth her time. Her eyes whirled deep purple, and silent she remained, though her intensity was unmistakable. Her wings worked, pumping the thinner air to hold her position, forcing the males to duck and weave around her, and jockey for nearness and the focus of her stare...
T'at and V'kenti were soon not alone with the goldrider, as R'yer stumbled in a moment later. Gold flights inevitably drew a larger interest than green ones, and Lestenna took some pride in having properly prepared. There were chairs in plenty, so that the dazed and confused and half-merged-with-their-dragon men could wait within easy reach of their goal (and hopefully be kept out of much trouble in the process). S'del (poor young fellow--Lestenna did not show it on her face, but she did wonder if it wasn't perhaps his first gold flight--looked ready to fly at the other fellows) came next and she kept an especially watchful eye to be sure he found his seat without any hassle. S'kint's offer to play his violin drew a raised eyebrow. Loroth was doing very well, true, but to imagine the man still held the faculties to play anything remotely approaching a song? She lifted a hand to dismiss his offer, though not unkindly. There were more important things to focus his attentions on.
Jacomus caught her eye the second he swaggered (or was it staggered?) in. Something about him screamed of familiarity, but she knew by heart the names and faces of every bronzerider in the weyr. It was indeed bronze overlaying the man as he dropped to sit, but none she knew to be native. He would bear watching...and perhaps not in the way most present were hoping to have her attentions.
The penultimate round, darlings! Everyone's wings must be aching now, and by lurking so high up where they must work harder to stay aloft, Uridith isn't making it any easier. Of course there's no shame in dropping out before you fall out, but you've come this far, haven't you?
*Dragons who did not roll for a round received a 0 for that round. †Dragons that were only rolled, and not RP'd, receive half their rolled score for that round.
Males roll wits + stamina! It's almost your last chance to show off for the pretty gold lady, but it's sooo hard to focus when you're this tired, isn't it?
Round Four will last until SUNDAY, April 30th!

S'del managed to find a seat. He'd never participated in a gold flight before, though this was the first time he'd ever been asked to sit. He fidgeted, wanting to get closer, wanting to reach out and touch but he held back. He would refrain. It wasn't his choice, after all -- it was Letenna-Uridith's It would be up to the gold, and like Kindeth, he couldn't help but hope.
Kindeth, for his part, strained. He tried to hover, but instead found himself circling. It was easier than straining against the thin air. He wanted to get in closer, to ensure Uridith would see him, but didn't dare. It was her choice, after all, and he hoped upon hope he'd be the one.
He was getting tired though, wor down. His young wings were strong but he wasn't quite as experienced or muscled as some of the other bronzes and browns. But surely his stamina would make up for that right? And his earnest desire? He was a good bronze -- surely Uridith could see that!

NPCs - R'yer and Bronze Korvath
Korvath was feelnig the strain of the flight, his regular training didn't typiclaly include flying at wush altitude and it was taking its toll. Also he had realised that his earlier stunt was now costing him as his already sore shoulder joints were now aching steadily, a regular throb with each downstroke of his wings. Nevertheless, he was stubbun and he pushed onwards, determinedly tailing the gold and her escort of bronze and brown bodyguards.
Avroth was tiring but he fought through the screaming in his wings and lungs, if he could last a Thread fall, he would see this flight through, perhaps even win his prize. His eyed whirled purple with faint flashes of red as he jostled for position among the gathered males, silently urging Uridith to choose him, even if he was only average.
R'Kesh groaned as he slowly rose from his drunken stupor, his head throbbing, he almost started to stumble out of his Weyr towards the Goldrider, but Avroth pleaded him to stay, why not have another drink? Anything to keep him away from his Uridith's rider and taint his chances now he was so close. R'Kesh grunted and headed down into the kitchens instead, looking for stronger things to drink, maybe something to eat while he was there.

His strong wing beats allowed him to pass the other dragons as he continued to climb. Focused fully upon the task before him, Gareth had managed to close back in on Uridith and some of the closer males as they reached the chosen altitude. He watched Uridith as she paused there in the sky, her eyes watching and scanning every male body as they began to move around her. A deep bugle of his own formed from within his chest and echoed out, a call towards her as he began to move around her. Eyes were a rolling purple with flashes of red as he kept his position, daring some of the other males to try and take his place near the lovely queen.
Lovely Uridith... His deep voice reached out to her as he curled and flew a bit closer to her, daring the wrath of some of the other males. No matter the outcome of this flight, know that my wings yearn to embrace and carry you.
A'dras had opened his eyes some at Gareth's words, hearing something beyond the flight lust that clouded the brain. It seemed that his Branwyn's Delyth had competition in this young queen. He chuckled softly to himself, hearing the weyr's door opening. He sat up on the bed, swinging his legs over and standing up. He moved to the opening of the bedroom and stood watching Branwyn place things away, as she had not noticed him there yet.
As he reached the high altitude, Kraketh let out a nearly-singing bugel to Uridith. His own eyes whirled with shades of deep purple and blue, and for a moment he twisted and flew around, intent to avoid collision with one of the other bronzes or even one of the browns. But his beating wings soon stilled, beyond the odd beat to keep him aloft, as he went gliding around in a gentle circle, tilting and moving to weave in and out of the others. His eyes, though, remained on Uridith. Somewhere deep in his mind, he was tempted to ask her to choose him, so he could keep J'mus in a Weyr, even for a little while, but the power of instinct kept him from saying anything other than Beautiful as the sunrise over the seas.
Shifting in his seat, Jacomus leaned forward, scooting to the edge as he rested his elbows on his knees. His eyes remained on Lestenna, as much as his dragon's eyes remained upon her dragon. He swore he could see a flash of half-recognition, much like he'd felt, but it was lost in the mix of seeing through his dragon's eyes as much as his own. How, he wondered loosely, would this night end? With him bound to the Weyr, or with him fleeing in haste at dawn? He wasn't stupid enough to take an exhausted dragon anywhere, after all.

NPC V'Kenti & bronze Takarath
Takarath had wanted to stay ahead of everyone. To show Her that he would the best. Of course that meant that he often had to keep readjustin his course as he would overshoot his target. He was working twice as hard as he needed to so he hoped he would be able to finish as strong as he had been doing so far. Choose me. He willed silently. Don't give up, he willed just as much and just as quietly to himself.

Loroth nudged his rider. He was doing fine on his own, he didn't need S'kint to try and impress the human too. S'kint for his part was thankful that she said no as he though he had been though this many times, he wasn't sure he could manage much in the way of song this time.
Loroth knew he was falling back, but then it wasn't about being the fastest all the time, sometimes it was about being the most dynamic. So now that the flight had gone on for a while, he began putting even more acrobatics into his flight. With a neat little wing flip he followed along easily.
What say you, fair star, how shall tonight end for us all?

T'at and Brown Nessuth
The earlier exhaustion seemed to be left behind as Nessuth spurred himself upwards and onwards, bolstered by T'at's own drive to win. He could feel His, his aches and pains become Nessuth's own, balmed only by the emotions coursing through them both, Crying in need and delight, he bugled again, thrumming himself up and towards her. HER. He wanted her.
Grenth was getting tired by this point, but the young brown male was determined not to give up. He followed the queen as she rose higher into the night sky, chasing the golden star among the coldly burning farther away points of light. Though he may not be up the highest of all the males still in the chase, he was still gamely holding on. Perhaps just by steady persistence he could catch the golden jewel's eye...?

T'nor and Bronze Tarenoth
Tarenoth was waning, for some reason his wings were aching and he began to fall behind. He was better than this, HE COULD DO THIS. Still he did his best to impress the gold with what strength and determination that he had.
