Tired, she lunches to stand over the jerboa and hope to defend from there. The fox snaps viciously at any given opportunity, and it's fast speed makes hitting it difficult. She rears for another kick and can see that she's made it tired and angry now. The jerboa is first priority, she concludes, and stands her ground, rearing up again with determination. She takes a deep breath and rears again, not even bothering to stop and think of her weakening limbs. It pays off and she crashes through the fox's head with a sudden impeccable precision. She huffs and puffs as the strange form bursts into a puff of smoke, and she gasps and jumps back in shock. She shifts to check on the jerboa and be sure that it is safe, and is proud of herself. She concludes that it's time to go. There was no way it could stay here, and no way she could abandon it and have it be safe. A defenseless animal at the base of a tree was just not going to be feasible. She found herself a rather large leaf, and piled it up with sticks to make a makeshift nest, but she's so frazzled by the encounter she stands still for a long while, staring at the ground where the puff of smoke vanished. She snaps out of it and concludes that they won't get anywhere if she continues to be stuck in place with shock. She forces herself and travels with the jerboa on the leaf for a while. She is still shaken a little, however, and backs a little bit to see if she can spot any hint that the beast was still there. She doesn't see anything, and she's disappointed in herself for her paranoid lack of progress. She glances back at the jerboa and sighs apologetically. Her antsiness seems to have crept into the poor creature, too. She calms it down as best she can, and hopes that she can bring herself to be less afraid for traveling. The path here isn't safe, and she can feel a presence. She glances at her bitten up legs and concludes backing out and going around would be a better course of action, and she warily glances around her as she backs away from the unsafe position. The jerboa is concerned for why she is so nervous, and once she's sure they're out of harms way again, she simply turns back to calm the creature down. It has no idea they aren't very far from starting course, but at the very least they're safe, and she's taking her time. They don't travel far, but with a loud sigh of relief, Fowl notices there's a delicious little minty plant that is used to cure wounds off the side of the path. She happily snags it up in her mouth and swallows it. Hopefully she can find something to make a sling for a few of the jerboa's wounds, and is almost disappointed it couldn't be shared this go. She finds another herb around where they'd originally started from, and gobbles it up for some more healing. Why hadn't she looked here before heading off to begin with?
