With her hands on her hips she chastised the flying eel like pae, "Pip is shy, you invaded their privacy without permission!" Really, it was completely rude of Koit!
If she thought about it naming the giggle bush without its permission either was on the rude side. However, one rude act at a time and it was his currently. There was work to be done as it was, "Alright lets get this wheel and storage house built!" There leave the giggle bush to have their space and back to work!
Fist in the air as cheer, Alma looked at the assembled group expectedly ready for them to hop to their tasks so she could get to work! There was a tower to build, something completely new, how was everyone not excited!?

Pelagious had been watching all this....drama go down from his post on the side of the bridge. Yes. Today was an exciting day, appearently. The wheel was damaged. That Alma had bossy issues. And this eel fellow seemed to be accosting a magical bush. Pelagious giggled at that implication like the natural born pervert he was.
Before there could be any more orders from the Alma, he leaned foward and shouted "Most owners of a bush tend to be a bit prickled when you try to invade it without their permission." Then he lost it as his own perverted logic hit him. Talking bushes were nothing compared with Venus day celebrations. Those damn things were down right dangerous. And people tended to accost other peoples bushes quite regularly.
It took him a moment, but he finally got himself under control. Only to turn toward Alma and ask "Shouldn't we figure out why the wheel broke first? If it was.....say..."he waved his hands and by association, his basket around in thought.
"A pae with ill intent? Wouldn't said pae just come back and do it again tomorrow?"
He pointed to ell boy "And no. If you've been to a Venus Day celebration? Unless it has a pointy stick or sharp teeth? It probably isn't more than a mild nuisance." He thought for a second before adding "Though they prolly make creams for those..." before loosing it in another giggle fit.
Two little eyes peeped out from in the bushes. "Why you try to bad touch me and tell nono jokes?" The little voice protested in a higher pitch. "Are you booger mens? DO I NEED TO CALL THE AUTHORITIES?" The branches trembled with energy. "You should be fixing the thing that I.... umm I mean... the little wingy fat things broke!!!"
There was a pause as if the voice was quietly reflecting. "How about glue? OR STICKS? OR MUD? OR SNOT? Eww nevermind not snot."

Koit earned a raised eyebrow for his concern, "Of course not, Pip is talking, not the bush. You were very naughty for invading their space without permission!" Talking bushes, that was just a silly idea, there was instead a tiny pae of some sort hiding, clearly.
Shaking her head, Alma insisted, "It doesn't matter how it was broken!" Putting her left arm up to form a bicep she placed her right hand on the flexed muscle declaring proudly, "Once I am done it won't be broken again!" Once the Venus day comment flew over her head, Pip caught her attention again.
"Don't worry, I'll fix it, no snot needed!" Or wanted, that was gross but living around all sorts of livestock gave new limits to grossed out. Right now, all she could see were bricks they weren't fetching and a tower that HAD to be built. Not building was starting to get her really antsy. If they didn't get moving she'd have to do it herself.
Oh heck with it, "Alright, lets get going we'll get this wheel fixed. Remember I need stone and help picking the wheel back up!" With that she turned and few right to the wheel attempting with all her might to get it back herself.
Large cloven hooves stomped the dirt, kicking up a lil cloud of dust as the trade cart from Sparks Hollow came to a near screeching halt. Well, it was a stomping hooves halt, really. The cargo shifted forward and one of the straps unhitched allowing the corner of the canvas to flap open. Thankfully, none of the goods fell off. Lucius hopped down from his seat and double-checked that everything was fine. "I think we're okay." The rope just wasn't on right. He let his gaze lay low as to not make eye contact with his travel companion and fellow Sparks trader. It was his fault he didn't secure it better.
"Why did the rams stop so suddenly?" He asked as he moved to check the yoke. The rams were okay, just spooked a little. After feeding them a little treat out of the last sack of dried grapes, he gave a hearty pat and and tossed the small pouch to his seat on the wagon. He leaned against the pack animal and crossed his arms and shook his head at what he saw ahead of him.
"What do you suppose is going on? Did we come at a bad time or something?" he asked of his partner, snark in his tone. "We might not be getting that wheat milled after all. Bye bye fresh-baked bread."

"Yeah, eel boy. Very rude." Agreed Pel, until what the fairy said hit his brain. A look of shock swept over features. "HEY!! Just cause your not evil doesn't mean you can be mean? It was only a joke!" He cried.
Snorting at this "Alma", he sighed and set down his stuff. "I'll help. Lord knows I could use some good karma after that last fiasco." He muttered the last bit. Before climbing over the side of the bridge and jumping into the water.
"Poor girl. You are strung tighter than a burglar at a law convention." He sighed. Grabbing his end of the wheel and attempting to push it up.
"Btw, magic bush? Thanks for the help..." pel said in the general direction of the threatening, talking bush.
Pushing against the wheel, the nymph hugged and groaned with exertion. The thing wasn't even trying to move! Flitting back just a hair to catch her breath, she saw the most beautiful thing. The other male joined in and was going to help! His words didn't make much sense earning a head tilt. "Huh?" Oh, thought gone as he touched the wheel.
Help! Darting forward again she attempted to force the wheel up with the two of them working but it wasn't enough. As she fluttered back this time, Alma kicked the wheel out of frustration, cheeks puffed up as another set of wheels started to turn.
"We have a cart, could tie the rope to the mules and get them to help out. What to use on the rope though..." Arms crossed, Alma tried valiantly to figure out how to use the mules without pulling the wheel out of the water, maybe move the team to the top of the water fall?
Glancing back to said team, she counted her mules and some rams...Wait rams? They didn't bring rams! Ah, there was a blue guy over there with another team of animals! Between the mules and the rams it should provide the push they needed to get the wheel back in place.
Looking to her helper she said, "Hold on a moment, we'll use the animals!" Flitting off like she pushed off something, Alma went soaring towards the fae, "Hiya! The wheel fell off and we need help getting it back on. Your team and mine could pull the wheel up and get it settled back while stones are gathered." The would be gathered, right? Oh she and the other could get it done if it came down to it.

Darius heard the strange bush and shook his head, "nono jokes? you are confusing you strange bush." He watched the bush watch them for just another moment before he too turned back to the problem at hand. He heard one pae call for stones and other items.
He moved closer to the wheel and the ones moving to fix it and away from the odd shaking bush "Hey I can manipulate soil... would that help in this task?" he questioned as he moved to grab a nearby rock.
The hooves of the rams made a continuous cloud of dust that hung in the air around the wagon, and the rhythmic stomping pace should have long since become monotonous and weary. And yet, shining blue eyes eagerly darted from one mundane item to the next along the journey as if each was the next most fascinating thing she'd ever seen. Eudora was leaning forward slightly with her palms on the edge of her seat when the rams suddenly halted. The forward momentum nearly had the dark Fae toppling head over heels if she hadn't instinctively tightened her grip and slammed her feet down on the floor to brace herself. Lucius was quicker to react to the cargo than she, but once she'd confirmed her own stability, she had hopped up on her knees in her seat to peer backward over the wagon between them to give a sigh of relief. "Oh, thank the Guardians. That could have been bad," she agreed.
While Lucius fed the rams their treat, she flitted up into the air and down on the other side of the animals, giving the closest one a fond scratch on the head behind his right horn. The commotion up ahead was clear, but before Eudora could respond to any of Lucius' questions (or display her utter dismay at the possibility of no warm, fresh-baked bread with honey waiting for them at the end of their trip as she'd been hoping for), a nymph came at them like a bolt of lightning from the sky. Eudora was only stunned into silence for a moment before an all too familiar feeling took hold of her.
"The wheel fell off?!? How did that happen? How could it? What about these stones? What are they for? How many do we need? What kind?" Her tone was light and filled with curiosity, her eyes fixating on whatever object at the moment was the subject of her questioning. After a bit, she seemed to catch herself, coughing into her hand. "Err, sorry, just...there seems to be a lot going on here." Turning to Lucius, she shrugged slightly and in a lower voice asked, "What do you think? Should we help? I mean...they're not my rams...but they seem to need our help. And I really would like to be able to have that bread when we get back." Eudora's earlier calm, if eager, traveling demeanor suddenly seemed anxious, distracted...as if she was struggling to keep from returning to her rapid-fire questioning practice until she got to the bottom of the mystery.

Pausing dramtically from the new workers, Alma whipped around to address the questions from Darius, "If you could stop the waterfall for a few minutes that would be grand. Other wise just find as many rocks as you can and put them over there." Her hand pointed to the spot on the opposite bank as the watermill where she planned the second part of her grand project. Anyone remembering their manners would check with the village leaders on if the second project was approved. There was no room in her little head for manners when there was a job to be done!
With an instant liking, Alma fired off her answers as quickly as they were tossed, "It did! It won't happen again once I am through!" Still didn't matter how it fell, builder's pride said it was because she didn't make it. "I will use the stones to fix the wheel! I need as many as can be found particularly the same type no limestone!" See this lady go it, asking the real questions!
Though that next one made no sense. Tossing her arms and legs out dramatically she added, "Of course you should help! Ms. Zofie always says it takes a village!" And really, there was a task to be done, why was everyone not jumping to do the task?
Chal looked at the bush, the way it talked reminded him of a child, perhaps a young relative playing in the bush, having some fun.
Chal's head dropped ever so slightly, hearing Alma repeat the same idea that he had suggested not that long ago. He knew that was just how Alma was, she got really excited about opportunities to build and use her gift to help others, it was something he loved about her. It didn't change the fact that it stung a little bit to be ignored her of all pae.
It didn't really matter whose idea it was as long as the project got done he supposed. He could give himself his own pat on the back for thinking of hitching the animals to the wheel to pull it out. It wasn't often that he was the one with the brilliant ideas.
There were plenty of pae that could help get the animals hooked up to the wheel, but no one had offered to get Alma any rocks yet, and they would need a bunch to meet her needs. "I'll go get some rocks." Chal responded, his tone unexpressive as he tried to conceal his feelings, not wanting to take any spotlight away from the female he loved.
Chal headed back on the trail, going the way that he and Alma had come from, passing by the ox pulled cart. He could probably find some rocks off the trail a little ways back, it may not be the closest place where he could get rocks, but he wasn't familiar enough to go looking closer.

Eudora's face flushed with warmth, but fortunately it wasn't visibly noticeable with her coloring. She hadn't meant for that inquiry to be overheard. She was still too keyed up about wanting to solve this mystery of what happened here to control the volume of her voice like she thought, apparently. Turning back to the nymph, she hurriedly offered, "I'm sorry; it's just, they're not my rams, so I can't just...give them to you. I could help with the stones though?"
After shooting a momentary glance back at Lucius, Eudora rose up to hover in the air. Were they really getting involved when they just arrived and barely knew what was going on yet? "Could you show me what you need? I'm no expert on rocks. What's limestone? Why don't we want it? Can you show me what it looks like so we don't get any by accident?"
Lucius smirked when Eudora seemed to have met her match with the rapid fire questions. This was an unexpected problem they'd not been prepared to handle. Though he supposed their trip wouldn't be all easy-going. But he'd counted on this stop being an easy one. He let out a deep breath and kept his grumble to himself. Why was everything breaking and why was he always called to fix it? 'Eh, yeah, I'll help get some rocks. But I'll unhitch the rams first from the cart. Eudora, you can use 'em as needed. Just don't go so far they injure themselves." He punctuated the last sentence with a wink and went to pull the pack animals free from the axle. Lucius handed the reigns to his traveling companion. "Here, take their dried fruits, they might need some coaxing."
After tossing the sack to Eudora, He fluttered his wings slowly to stretch them before he lifted off to search for rocks. He wasn't nearly as familiar with this town as others. He'd only ever come here get grain and seeds milled. That doesn't normally take one on a tour of the village. He considered that he'd never even met the village leaders. Maybe he's seen them in passing? He wouldn't recognize them as such. He went to what looked like the outskirts and found a few good sized rocks that he'd be able to carry without hurting himself. But they were heavy enough he couldn't fly any more than a foot off the ground.
He stopped when he came to the team trying to use the animals to pull the wheel, to rest a moment. He took a deep breath and flew up and over the river. Holy Guardians these were heavier than he considered. After setting them where the head of this operation had instructed, he wiped his brow. The rocks he spotted on this side of the river, upstream a short distance, made him shake his head and sigh. "Well, I suppose that's dumb luck," he muttered to himself.
With the help of the others, Lucius thought the pile looked big enough. Although he wasn't all that certain what the rocks were for. He hoped it was big enough at least. He glanced up to check the position sun, and shook his head. They were running late, and might not make it to the next stop before dark.
He flew over to the fae-hybrid construction boss, and winded slightly asked her if it was enough. "What are the rocks for, if I may ask? And is that enough?"

A miracle occurred, Alma had stuck around long enough to hear the fae agree to help and even agree to the plans of action. Looking between the two for a few more moments, she directed her comment to the lady fae, "Thank you! I'll send the mules up with you. We'll tie rope to both sides of the wheel and the animals will be able to work together to lift it. Once it's in place they'll earn a nice rest!" Chal was prefect to help with this part. The animals seemed to like him the best.
Turning around she took off again making a bee-line right for Chal. Arms wide and smile beaming she called to him, "Chal! Will you help the nice lady up stream? They will let us use their rams, with our animals we'll be able to easily get the wheel up!" Not a moment to spare, Alma placed one hand on Chal's shoulder since there wasn't a second for any further act of affection. Oh no, she needed to get things built!
In the cart she fetched two small rocks and lots of fiber rope. One section went to Chal while the other was looped on her shoulder.
From there it was off to Eudora like a shot. Catching up with the lady, Alma offered the second section of rope and held two rocks up. The lighter limestone she said, "This is the bad rock, it doesn't do well with water. Anything else that doesn't crumble is good rock!" Suddenly, her shoulders straightened and her eyes went wider. Not wasting a moment she turned around and went right for the other side of the water from the mill. Placing the lime stone at one end, she wrote in angle script "Bad rock" with and 'X'.
This was a great idea!
Next she flew to the center of what would be the storehouse in the design to place one of the good rocks. Traveling with them kept her busier and a little calmer.
Back to the respectable pile Lucius brought, Alma informed him, "I am going to rock around the water wheel on this side and build a counter on the other side. That way the wheel won't have anywhere to go and can't fall!" She made a 'heh heh' sound and a respectable super hero pose.
From there she gathered a few of the best Lucius brought as offering to the building. Using her powers she fixed the edges transforming them into a traditional brick shape. Once three were completed, the nymph moved back to the mill house just a bit slower. Additional guardian gifted skill allowed the bricks to meld together holding firm without mortar or drying time.
Turning around with pride she said, "Never enough brick but great start!" It was enough for a simple structure on its own, just enough to keep the wheel safe but grander plans existed for a store house of sorts.

Two little eyes examined the rock that was decidedly bad. "Ooooooooooooh, rock got in twoooouble!!!" the voice sang out tauntingly. "HEY LADY!!! I HAVE ROCKS TOO!!!!" Little pebbles starting pinging out of the bushes toward Alma. "Can I help???" It was all the little one could do not to run out and take over. There was still the possibility of getting in trouble for causing the ruckus or, worse, getting assaulted by one of those unsavory adults from earlier. "I wanna heeeeeeeeeeeeeelp," the voice squeak/whined.
