Akkira came to the booth fully expecting to be able to goof off with Sascha for a bit, instead it was a totally different troll. She could only hear him as he critiqued the children and helped them all out. Akkira meanwhile thought that maybe these kids could do with a lesson by a professional.
But, did not even bother messing with the karaoke machine at all and instead pulled out the old beat up guitar she'd brought with her from it's even more beat up case. She positioned the mic so that she could play and sing at the same time without worrying about the mic and began singing.
The song itself was definitely familiar, but only in lyrics. Everything else was her own. When she finally finished she grinned at the judge that had come up to her. "I have a better Idea, these squeakers sound like they're having a little trouble, why don't we do a little show to give them an idea of what they need to do, what do you say?"
This time. Okay this time he could do it. An Alternian Slam Poet needed backbone, right? That was like, half the freaking slam poetry right there. Backbone. Had to grow it. Okay.
Keep in mind everything told to him by that yellow fellow from yesterday. Have fun with it. Have fun, and he'd be just fine... so he did! Mahmud instead chose a more contemporary song and while he didn't know the lyrics so well as the melody, in his opinion he did pretty darn well!
And whoever this person was, they liked it too! Mahmud beamed when complimented on his energy, but... wait. What? "Spittle? What's spittle?" For a moment he stood there confused... until he saw Fellah wipe stuff off his face. SPIT. OH GOG HE SPAT ALL OVER THE JUDGE.
"... e... eee.... eeeeeeeeee S-SORRY" Mahmud couldn't help it, he had to get out of there then. Right then! It was just like Karaoke at the club all over again! All he did was make a fool of himself! Without further word he dropped the microphone on the ground and dashed off the stage, presumably somewhere shady to hide and recover from the embarrassment

Kaldru wasn't really sure what kept him coming back; he'd thought it was the desire to see if he could find Sascha and bother him for more information about how awesome he was (or, if he was really lucky, get the yellowblood to hover him around again), yet when he saw the redblood at the judging stage he still found himself waiting in line for a turn. There was something enjoyable about getting up on stage and warbling some mountain song or other he'd picked up in his wandering, and while he wasn't exactly getting any standing ovations, he wasn't so self conscious that his failures leeched the fun out of his attempts, either.
Such it was that he found himself clambering back onstage and dusting his kilt off before offering his biggest grin to the judge of the day. He was still woefully incompetent when it came to any form of celebrity, but he did at least note that she matched a lot - all? - of the merch for the booth. There was little time to contemplate that, though, as he didn't exactly have a lot of time onstage ...
Odette blows you a kiss as you leave. You must have left quite the impression. (+2)
Remembering what the judge the night before told him, Kaldru decided on a song he really enjoyed; it was a simple thing, but something he often sang to himself while working on something quite intense. He was surprised, and even felt his cheeks flush a little as he hopped down from the stage.
Had he actually performed well? He grinned in his flustered embarrassment, offering the starlet a sweeping bow along with a giggle.
Eostre saw Odette in the booth, and had to come by again. Although Aandes gave her a scathing review, it didn't matter really if she was good at singing. She wanted to see the redblood starlet, the real star of the booth. She sang a familiar tune for Odette, and ended with a smile. Even if it was a stock reply, it made her a little happy. She had more than potential!
"It's great to see you again, Odette," Eostre offered after her performance, giving the redblood a quick wink before she moved aside for the next performer.
Due to there not being much going on at her own booth, Akkira decided to visit the starlight booth. It was one of the few that she honestly enjoyed very deeply. Still, she wasn't sure she was fond of tonights judge.
She wasn't exactly feeling the song that night, but sang her heart out anyway with dance to match. When she was done with her bit she shrugged at odette's comment. "Couldn't tell you," Everything she'd gotten was based on how cheap it was.
Theatrical -- You give 'em the ole razzle-dazzle. Multiply the points you receive from the judge by 2 if you receive
Pol returned once again to the booth just to be disappointed. Whoever heard her say that would probably sneer at her or something, as tonight's judge was no other than Odette Cygnet. See, the proble with Polair was that she wanted to prove that she could. So no matter how much she pushed herself, she wasn't quite feeling it. The whole thing, she just wasn't feeling it which in turn made her performances sound like a monotonous speech.
Being called brave didn't ease things either. She wasn't brave. Polair wasn't trying to be brave. So with that she left, determined to do this right.
"Ahh-" Wander wasn't one for karaoke. In fact, getting the nerve to come back to the booth at all? A bit nerve-wracking. Or, really, terrifying. But she had heard through the grapevine that Odette was judging. The young orangeblood couldn't perform for anyone else yet, but maybe she could try to do it for Odette... Maybe that would be a nice surprise?
As she stood in line, she couldn't stop shaking. Or fidgeting. Or snapping little fireworks. It was distracting to some, so she tried to stop. But it was so hard. This was a bad idea...
But Sonnie could do it. And Cynril could run a booth. Couldn't she do this much?
Soon it was her turn to drag herself up to the stage. She had to keep breathing. The music started playing, and Wander started singing along. "The spell you'e got on me...is like magic~" She snapped out some fireworks, on purpose this time. Before she knew it, she was doing some moves to the song, incorporating pyrotechnics, and not even stuttering once.
It helped that she really liked the song. It helped that it was Odette.
At the end, Wander was sweating bullets. She bowed and made her exit. She was like a robot, stiffly stomping off.
That didn't stop her from seeing the blown kiss.
Ah.... Maybe her efforts weren't half bad.....

Style: Familiar
As Hawkin continued his skating tour through Bloodfest, the young tealblood spotted a booth with speakers. Yes, the speakers spoke to him before anything glitzy, though he definitely recognized the judge. He was a city troll, who DIDN'T know Odette Cygnet? The tealblood hopped up on stage, his bass in hand (what was the point of singing without some sick bass?) After a while fiddling around to find a jack to plug his bass guitar in, he started to jam hard. The boy seemed to be far more interested in his instrument than his vocals, however, he picked a very familiar song so it wasn't hard to keep up with his riffs. Once he finished the jam sesh he glanced over at the redblooded starlet gushing praise at him. "Right on, thanks celeb dudette," he said with a grin. If he were more expressive he would be displaying just how pleased he was with the fact that Odette rhymed hella good with dudette.

Ⅱ Autumn Vikare
Theatrical: Final Round!
Autumn had become accustomed to failure at this point. Even so, that did not make Odette's response any less bitter. The yellowblood swallowed down the pain of humiliation and rejection. She had thought that out of all the judges Odette would be the most understanding. If she had expected to hear words of encouragement, she thought for sure they would have come from a fellow member of the Phoenix Initiative. Instead she had heard them from a complete stranger. Had the yellowblood been merely indulging her? The thought hurt almost as much Odette's betrayal.
Autumn did not move from the stage. Her shoulders sagged and her wings drooped as the last of her confidence deflated. She cast her gaze down and aside. There was an uncomfortable pause before she spoke. “... How did you do it?” she asked. She no longer cared to keep up appearances. Never mind that Odette was a celebrity, and Autumn but a nameless fan. She felt lost, aimless, and did not have Byakko here to guide her. She might not have known Odette the star, but she did know Odette of the Phoenix Initiative.
Despite her resolve, tears began to stream down her cheeks.
