Rescue: Runic Master class
A mass of people swimming down came with it's dangers, and Melvin turned to see the hunters being picked off one by one. The bad thing with underwater combat was that humans became sluggish targets while the Fear marine life just picked them off. For the experienced hunters, sheer power helped, but Melvin worried for the new members who might suddenly become fearful of the sea and risk hurting themselves and their equipment keeping them alive.
Spotting Terry, the Lifer swam over to the octopus' line of sight before Terry and swam across, causing the creature to turn it's eye and follow him out. It wasn't hard to distract them. He'd been diving in these waters so many times that it was just a matter of moving over to the kelp beds and moving it in there which he did so, mindful of the sentient kelp.
Moments later he returned. "Be careful out there. Get to the cave. We'll be heading in soon." He said, swimming past Terry to see who might need some help.

"Th-thank you," Terry managed to say as the senior Life hunter rescued him from what would be an undoubtedly unpleasant experience. He quickly headed for the cave as instructed, trying to pass of his shivers from the cold waters rather than the close encounter.

Kim looked at all those who helped her and waved her thanks. She really hadn't thought that a mermaid could be like that, but it was. She swam over and took another photo with the mermaid as it floated there. Then she swam over to her other friend Terry seeing how he was doing after his own fishy encounter. There really were more mermaids in the water than she had anticipated. HP: 35/40 Damage: na Charge: na

Bobbing in the water, Melvin swam above the opening of a rather large cave. The opening was ragged with sharp, stone-like stalactites and stalagmites. “Okay everyone. This is going to be a bit of a tight squeeze so everyone line up. This is the entrance we need. Don’t try any other openings or you will be left on your own outside of the group. Did a bit of testing on this one, but from the depth and length, we should all be able to fit in no problem once we get to the first stomach.”
“Just tuck your limbs in so the teeth don’t get you and wait for it to swallow. Alright? I’ll await you all inside.” He said rather cheerfully before moving to the mouth of the cave which turned out to be an actual mouth and went inside the dark opening - only for it to snap shut and close.
After a moment, it opened up once again awaiting the next diver.

The mouth is actually cold with sand on what appeared to be a sandy surface but soon shows itself to be disguised tongue. Roll 1d6. If you Roll EVEN, you take no damage. If you Roll ODD, your limbs are a bit too far out and you get nipped. Take -10 damage. Success! You are now in the first stomach. It’s dark so make sure your headlamps are on. The first stomach is a dark, warm chamber filled waist deep with liquid.

... wait a minute. Did Melvin actually use the words 'stomach', 'teeth' and 'swallow'? Like this cave was actually part of something that was alive?
Looks like Kyle was next so he took a deep breath and headed into the mouth of the cave, keeping his arms and legs tightly tucked in as Melvin had instructed for them to do to avoid the teeth. It was cold but he resisted the urge to lift his hands to rub at the goosebumps that had developed on his arms, waiting patiently for the mouth to swallow, the tongue pushing him like a morsel of food to deposit him into the stomach where Melvin was already waiting.

The stomach was dank, the walks expanding and contracting as dark-green liquid coats anything it touches. You can feel objects under your flippers that break into pieces as you tread. The ceiling drips and you can hear a muffled THUD THUD further off.
“Alright. This is the first stomach.” Melvin said from the back of the stomach, his helmets headlamp casting his face in a green shadow from the slime that coated him. “We need to move over to the next one to get to the mark. Walk down in a orderly fashion and try not to trash around too much. We don’t want to disturb the feeder fish in here. Just….keep as many of your limbs out of the bile.” He called out, turning to head down to a dripping sphincter at the end of the stomach.
“Alright. Shouldn’t be too hard. Just a bit of stimulus and you go right in. Be quick getting through. We don’t want this thing to get an upset stomach and send us out.” Pressing his hands into hole, he pressed his limbs in before bowing his head, slipping inside and out of view.
Quote: Feeder fish: The stomach is filled with bile feeder fish, and they see you as the ready to be digested. Roll 1d10. This is the amount of feeder fish that latch onto you. They do +2 damage each. (Ex: 1d10 = 6 / 6 feeder fish do 12 damage) Once they do damage, your character can pull them off and move through this stomach to the next.

How insane was this? Kim looked around and sighed. Who the heck WANTS to go into the mouth of something giant and likely able to digest them? She glanced at everyone else who seemed unwilling and sighed. First to die first to make others change their mind about the whole thing and run away?
Son of a.... She winced and silently cried out in pain. What the hell was she doing here? She should have ran away when she had the chance... Oh wait.. that is a hell no.. there seemed to be a good fight waiting for her at the end of this. There HAD to be, with so much current danger. Just let it go... let it go.. the wounds were not that bad..... yet...

So much.. gooshy body parts. The way the walls.. no that is right walls, moved was creepy. There was too much of the green acidic bile around to have to dodge and.. wait, did Melvin say feeder fish? After this was over she was going to really HATE fish with a passion. Good thing she didn't have any pet fish.
Double checking her head lamp to ensure it wouldn't flicker she sighed and followed behind. Glancing back she noticed at as of yet no one else was following. Not a huge surprise, she wouldn't be following either if she was truely sane.
The real issue was the damned feeder fish.. though only three came at her, there was no doubt in her mind that if she lingered it would get much worse. Tossing the annoying buggers off she sighed and pressed through the sphincter moving along.
She had to be insane, there was no other explanation. "Melvin, if this keeps up.. someone may melt, there is so much acid.."
She glanced back again hoping Terry was doing okay. Heck she wished she was doing okay... those nips were getting irritated with all this, salt water.

Melvin's lamp bobbed in the dark before he turned around to smile back. "Oh I've already tested the stomachs. As long as we don't stay in this stomach long, we will be fine and we won't be going further to the more hazardous fluids. It is not suitable for out suits without risking corrosion. We aren't going further. Hear that?"
Looking up, the gurgling and moving liquids of the room were drowned out but a muffled THU-DUM THU-DUM."
Melvin moved closer. "You holding up okay?"

Kimberly lifted her hand, then dropped it realizing she was not able to push any strands back. She sighed and gave a bit of a nod. "Yeah, a bit beaten and battered but I am still on my feet so I am good to go." Her view is always that if she can move, she is in good form. With a bit of a wince she looked around hearing the thumping sound. "s**t, is that the heart?" The idea of being near the beating heart of a living creature was a bit daunting. It was also thrilling, so close, killing with one good strike.. ah.. Oops, better not let that bleed through and people see, they would lock her up somewhere. The sun hunter trainee kept forgetting that she was not supposed to be killing EVERYTHING she came across, just what she was told to. "Okay so not going to the deeper more melty s**t, keeping to the surface layers.. Good to hear. So any clue just how much deeper we go to finish this?"

Joy's eyes widened from in her helmet when Melvin told them where they were going into next. There was no second-guessing or questioning what they were supposed to be doing. It sounded intriguing and the familiar adrenaline rush that Joy had come to love was there.
So when her turn came, she did as instructed. And of course, being one of the shorter hunters on the island didn't hurt her chances of coming out unscathed either.

Terry, meanwhile, was poker faced to the maximum level because on the inside he was screaming and flailing about like a certain green muppet. It was only because Kim ventured in and that it was Melvin telling them to do so that he forced himself to go through with it. His apprehension (and apparently height), however, held him back and caused him to get hurt.
He wasn't able to keep himself from yelping in pain, though he sounded more like a puppy that had just been kicked rather than someone who'd been bitten by an underwater creature.
The things he did for his senpai. And to not appear like a total wuss in front of Kim.

Upon emerging in the stomach, Joy had no problem vocalizing her disgust, "Yaaaaaak!" She wasn't entirely familiar with the digestive tract but this was still gross. Especially since it was not human. That just upped the ick factor quite a bit. Because of this, she moved quickly and managed to deal with the pair of feeder fish that latched onto her.

"Help. Help. Help." Came Terry's monotone cry, giving just the slightest lilt to indicate the utter panic he found himself in. There were a lot of fish that swarmed him, something his weapon felt completely threatened by, given her own aquatic nature.
GO AWAY! THIS IS MY HOST!! MINE MINE MINE!!!!!!
Unfortunately, it wasn't doing any good for Terry to free himself from the school and was looking like he was going to become fish food at this rate.

Kim would have known that yelp anywhere. She pressed back through the sphincter of the aquatic creature and swamp past Joy, giving her a high five before moving to Terry. She thought she attracted killer fish, he was swarmed. "Whoa, calm down T Man, I'll get the last off your back." Prying the fish off carefully she grabbed his arm gently. "Stay close, you have some small bite marks in the suit but nothing bad.". She favored him with a smile before leading him to, and hopefully through the gross sphincter. "Just like the Pinocchio level of Kingdom Hearts."

Melvin pointed up. "Just gotta go up. We're just a messy incision away. Just...." He paused, looking at the slime that was thick around their legs. "....just.....try to not make any sudden moves."
Terry's voice cried over the headsets and before he could react, Kim was out through, making Melvin slightly concerned that all this movement back and forth through stomachs was going to give enough of a stomach ache to cause immediate "evacuation" of it's occupants.
"You guys alright? Do you need bandages?" Not that they all didn't have runic bandages in their kit. "We're almost there. Just one chamber left." He said, trying to sound encouraging before he paused again and looked behind him in the dark murk with concern.
Probably best not to mention that to them right now and just wait for them to get here. Yes. No need to be worried.

Occupied with a clasp on his equipment, Noah had lagged behind the group. He swam down, following the cluster of people; unfortunately, something else noticed him, and the swirl of water as its claws passed dangerously near his shoulder made him summon Laz automatically. HUNGRY, the weapon said, and Noah managed not to shudder. This was no time to get distracted. Quote: 5.) A mermaid notices you and they are not the pretty Ariel type. Aggravated, they use their claws to swipe at you. HP20. Auto -5 damage.
