Chiara felt pretty good after having wailed on the lusus shelter for a bit, and she felt quite content to bring a lawnring chair, place it on said lawnring, and nap.

Sephos Arbola
Sephos was tired tonight. He hadn't slept well, having just come back from a brief stint in the woods, doing his chores, doing his work, taking care of his lusus and his home. Travel was hard, and it hurt.
It had nothing to do with the vaguely familiar blueblood, just his own exhaustion and weakness.
He was offered a break early, with the ability to resume 'later, when he was feeling more up to it.' He took it with some grudging gratitude.

Sephos ArbolaSephos probably shouldn't have started planting flowers on an empty stomach and travel-worn spirit, but he had the seeds and the soil and that was kind of what he did, generally. But after the first few scoops of digging and a plant tucked into the soil, he realized he was starting to see things that weren't there. Fortunately, he took care of himself fairly well generally, so it was a fast march to a recouparoon and some sopor slime. He could sleep, wake up, and get back to things. It would be fine. The whole "not feeling it" thing even stuck to Chiara as she tried to focus on her own personal projects. There was just something so uninteresting about having to repair a building she would never bother to use.

When he went back to work, he was just as lethargic as he'd been when he'd gone to sleep. He just couldn't bring himself to care that much, even about a greenhouse, even about where his feet went when he moved them. He wasn't feeling building, or walking, or - when he tripped and fell on his face - falling.
He got up and rubbed his scraggly beard. He was feeling like a wilted flower... what could be done?

Sephos ArbolaSephos didn't feel much better when he tried gardening as a cure to his lack of feeling. He tried water, and food, and neither helped much either. Finally, he gave up on working. Today was, apparently, just not a work day. Time was meaningless, so that would have been fine... except there was so much to do. He sat on a stone wall and considered his options. Finding none, he dedided to just... rest. Maybe it would help... Panili had been watching Chiara for nights now. To her delight, a right-minded acquaintance - one Sephos - had joined the Settlement to work. But, through the grape-vine (sometimes literally) she had heard of the Blueblood. She was curious. On one bright, breezy evening, the orangeblood made her way over to the older troll as she was working, tools in hand and smile on her face. "Ah, hello! I think I'm finally just meeting you formally. How have things been? I didn't get the chance to ask you earlier what brings you to our settlement, but I'm so thankful you're hear. Shmothma too!" She gestured to the large, frothing creature chewing on some grass nearby.

The blueblood said, nodding to the girl. "What can i do for you?"

Working on the settlement was actually pretty nice. She had some time away to think to herself, and, since she didn't really think anyone she knew would bother with this kind of community service anyway, she could disappear and be up to "devious plans", or so she said whenever someone asked. Yep, weeding, such a devious plan.

Apparently, an easy night was what he'd needed.
The next night saw him getting things together, literally and figuratively. Before he knew it, he was drinking sweet lemonade after working up a storm.
He stared at his callouses and aching hands, surprised at the change, but perhaps he should not have been. The air was different here, after all. Everything was different here. The plains were not the more urban places but, functionally, they as different from the forest as they were from the city. He should have expected that he would wilt and flounder when here for a while.
Life finds a way Maku had told him, Even a withered plant may bloom, given time and space to put down its roots.
Sephos didn't think he was rooted here, but he got the point.
