The Silver Labyrinth continued to show just how odd of a place it was, nevermind the various kinds of enviornments within it. One had to wonder what kind of place this really was, though the room Amaranth and Gale just entered came off as weird, even by the labyrinth's standards. Seeing all of the gears in the room, she wondered if this maybe controlled some of the other rooms in some way. "Huh?" A cursory glance would reveal that while the gears were turning, some of them had a slot where nothing was there and a pile of them were just sitting against one of the walls. Was someone just lazy in here? Or was it some kind of puzzle? She hoped to find an answer as she diverted her attention to the spare gears and went to get one of them.

Making sure the gears were in place first, Amaranth and Gale would move through the door leading out, hoping the next might be a little safer. Maybe. Hopefully. Probably not.

There wasn't a moment's pause between Salamence's roar and its swooping in with a Fly attack, practically cutting Gale with its wings on the way through. To say it was enraged was a massive understatement, and though Amaranth was a little more mentally prepared, she couldn't say the same for witnessing a surprisingly deep cut across her Pokemon's chest. Another attack like that, and she feared that Gale collapsing would actually be a preferable outcome compared to the more likely one. Despite the pain she was in, however, the Pidgeotto would try her best to stay in the fight. Without waiting for a command, she'd go straight into a harsh Twister to try and throw Salamence back.

"Careful, Gale!" Amaranth shouted, unable to think of anything but the possibility that Gale might not make it out of this fight alive. And that it'd be her fault for bringing her here in the first place. "It's not worth it!" Unfortunately, all she could do was watch in fear, looking at the Silver Key in hand. She was making sure to book it to the Silver Shop after this, hoping Hedj would have something useful in there.

Despite her concerns, however, her Pidgeotto opted to keep fighting. As Salamence crashed into another of the pillars, it'd suddenly turn its gaze to Gale and glare before ascending and diving straight down, driving them both to the ground with as harsh a Dragon Rush as it could manage. A crater would be left from the impact, followed by a hole as Salamence tried to drive Gale further and further into the ground. The seconds to follow felt like an eternity as Salemence flew back out, glaring at Amaranth until it saw a fist emerge from the shadows, ready to claim the battle-weary Pidgeotto for good.

It saw it last time, too, but thought nothing of it. Now, it could see that it was going after its enemies, finishing a fight that it could've done on its own. A loud Roar would be heard to force Golurk to fully emerge, followed by Salamence rushing in to Bite it. This wasn't the Golurk's fight as far as it cared, and kindly asking it to leave wasn't the sort of thing to cross the mind of any angry dragon. Golurk would brace itself to take the hit, followed by the ghostly statue moving to punch Salamence with all its might. Amaranth would watch in silence at the whole thing, slowly moving to the hole in the ground to get Gale out. Despite her poor shape, she seemed to be hanging on.

"Maybe we should get out of here while they're... fighting...?" Her thoughts would trail off as Golurk retreated into the shadows, the ghost waiting for a better time to finish the job. Salamence would resume its deathly glare at her and Gale afterward, but rather than continue the fight, it'd breathe a Flamethrower at Amaranth's face before flying off. This battle was botched, and it was angrier that someone butted in than it was at them. So it'd let them go for now, dropping a few Silver Tokens in the process. Next time, luck might not be on their side. Suffice to say, there wasn't a word said as Amaranth coughed and patted out the flames before moving to the exit. Putting the Silver Key into the odd lock, she'd soon find herself heading into the Silver Shop...

Leaving the shop, Amaranth and Gale would see what looked like ancient ruins. Various carvings were on every wall that they could see, none of which could be discerned easily. With no idea of what they could mean, they'd decide to start going to the next room, only for a swarm of Unown to circle the two and unleash their Hidden Power upon the hapless pair...

A stroke of good fortune would seem to come to Amaranth for once, seeing a nearly empty room, but a familiar sight.

"Wait, aren't you...? How'd you get all the way here?" She asked, seeing the Delibird as it came over. At least, she thought it was the one she saw before. They all kinda looked the same, and it didn't say or do anything to suggest it was or wasn't the same one. She'd kneel down as it took out a present and went about its business, leaving her to open it and see what might be inside.

By now, Amaranth was convinced that the labyrinth was beginning to play a cruel joke on her and Gale. They'd find theirselves back in the room lined with massive stone statues, one of them absent as the Golurk remained hidden. "This can't be happening, right?" She asked herself, looking at her Pidgeotto and opting to turn around. She only managed to move a few feet before a stone fist slammed down in front of her, another of the statues revealing itself to be sentient.

"Okay, it's happening!" Jumping back for her own safety, she'd watch Gale get swatted by the Golurk's other arm. The one hunting them remained in the shadows, deciding to leave matters to the one attacking them for now. Unlike the one before it, though, it already knew that trying to attack its more nimble opponent would be a lesson in futility, let alone that said opponent attacking it would be the same. The last time they were in there showed this Golurk that much. Being more savvy for it, it'd go to try and crush Amaranth with Hammer Arm. Taking out the trainer would likely be as effective, it figured, though it was confused. Didn't she have a Pidgey last time? How did it evolve so quickly?

Right now, the answer wasn't one that mattered. Amaranth would quickly move out of the way to avoid the attack, desperately trying to keep her cool as Gale tried to cut at it with Air Slash. Much like the last Golurk before it, however, the attack didn't seem to do anything of note aside from making it flinch slightly. Assured that it'd have no issues taking them down later after such a weak attack, just as with the previous Golurk, it'd take a different route. Harming itself to inflict a Curse upon the two, it'd disappear into the shadows soon after. In fact, it'd join the other Golurk, both of them ensuring that sooner or later, Amaranth and Gale would fall.

With both of them feeling like they were going to be watched for some time to come, they'd just try and go to the next room. Even if they got to the end of the floor, they had the feeling that their lives might not be lasting terribly longer if either Golurk had anything to say about it. A few Silver Tokens would be found and stashed, perhaps an attempt at trying to still have a fighting chance against the growing dangers.

Fears aside, Amaranth couldn't say she was expecting a room quite like the one she had managed to enter. Velvet cushions were scattered around the room, and the draperies over the walls gave the room a royal sort of vibe. A couple of chairs and a couch were around too, as well as a velvet bed reserved for pets. Finally, there was the pièce de résistance, a wall-sized painting of... a purple Persian? It didn't look like any Persian she knew of, anyway. Maybe it was from Alola or something.

A light meow could be heard soon after, Amaranth looking down to see the same sort of Persian sitting nearby and looking up. These two seemed friendly enough, it thought. Or, maybe that was Amaranth's hopes. Trying to keep her fears at bay, she knelt down and went to pet the Alolan Persian, hoping that maybe that was why it came near them.
