Now that Leon thought about it, the unown around here seemed to be quite low level in general. Maybe he should take this opportunity to train some of his other pokemon, since Inari had already gotten so strong. He started to rummage through his things, deciding that Ren, as the weakest pokemon he owned, could use some experience. Even if the fox had only likely been used for contests before by his previous owner. Leon paused to look over at Zero as he asked a question, approaching Inari. "I found her in my attic, actually. She must have gotten in somehow from the woods around my house. Their natural habitat is forests, I believe." Leon answered, then released Ren from his ball so that he could put him into one of the gs balls he had.
Ren blinked as he was released, confused. What kind of dirty, dank place was this? He stared up at Leon, who had a shiny golden ball in his hand. The fox was then sucked into that ball, then let out again. He felt good about having such a luxurious ball now, but why was he out? Surely, Leon didn't want him to do any dirty work, did he? "Ren, I know you are accustomed to contests and all, but I figured we'd do some training." Leon told the navy blue vulpix. Ren huffed, disgusted at being told to train, but he supposed that he'd give it a try, since it was Leon. After all, the man could groom him after for all the trouble.
Inari watched as Zero got closer, until she finally yipped, jumping forward to sniff at Zero. Her nose poked around the outside of his jacket, not being shy at all. The Ruunyx circled him, inspecting him while making small, curious sounds. Her shadow went back to somewhat normal, thought it moved unnaturally.
While Inari was preoccupied, three unown showed up one by one, and Leon directed Ren to use heatwave on each of them. The unown all went down and were captured with ease.

The young man hummed quietly at Leon's response, before Inari started to approach him on her own, seemingly curious about him as well. Nevermoor tried not to attract attention to herself, trying to keep Zero's shadow as normal as possible, but there were some distortions that she simply couldn't suppress. "I see... Well, they do seem pretty unique," He reached a hand out for the little fox to sniff. "I don't think I've really seen another one before." He glanced back to see if Leon was even listening, or if he chose to ignore him in favor of the pokemon he wanted to teach.
Meanwhile, more Unown arrived, sadly none of which were of new letters. Nova made quick work of them, while Yin simply hovered around the two men, curious to see if she could stir something up between them.

Inari was more than happy to sniff at Zero's outstretched hand, tails swaying behind her as her wet nose brushed against the male's hand. "Yeah, the Gekkit line does seem pretty unique. She's a fairy/dark type now." Leon commented, reciting the information he knew from the pokedex. Since Ren seemed to have figured out what to do, Leon pulled out his pokedex, curious about more information about this recent evolution. "It's not surprising if you haven't really seen one before. They typically live in places far away from humans, like deep thick forests and caves. Sometimes ruins." he added, reading more about Ruunyx.
Inari was still interested in the white haired male. Particularly his long green jacket. As she circled him, she shoved her snout into one of his coat pockets, sniffing curiously. Meanwhile, Ren was quite disgusted with the job that was given to him. Using his moves like this was so exhausting, and this place was so dusty. Not to mention, these unown were so weird, always staring with one big, unblinking eye. He managed to take down three more unown, Leon catching the one shaped like an I.
"Huh..." Leon muttered, looking over more information about Ruunyx. The pokedex entry was quite interesting, but he wasn't sure if that was actually something depicting an actual capability of the pokemon, or if it was just a myth. He glanced up at the screen to look over to the five-tailed fox, noticing she seemed to have decided to invade Zero's pocket space. "Inari, get your nose out of there." he instructed. The fox's ears perked and swiveled slightly and she gave a muffled bark before obeying, pulling her face out of Zero's pocket. Instead, her attention went immediately to Zero's shadow, jumping around it and scratching at the floor with a paw.

Zero listened to the older male's explanation, still interested in Inari's new form. He chuckled a bit at the fox's excitement, slipping his hand across her head and down to her back while Leon read straight from the pokedex. "I see. That certainly makes sense, it does seem like there's always pokemon in places we haven't looked yet..." He mused, before the fox suddenly started to get around him, and shoved her snout into his pockets. "Hey, get out of there!"
The young man tried to push the fox away, gently at least, but curiosity was clearly stronger than his pushes, as it took a command from Leon to get her to stop. Letting out a breath, Zero rose up from his crouched position and looked about, catching sight of the Unown being battled by his pokemon. He didn't notice the little fox scratching at his shadow, or his shadow snapping this way and that to avoid the big fox's playful curiosity. "...So you told Isis these things can grant wishes?" He finally asked, watching the third of a trio come tumbling to the earth.

Inari greatly enjoyed the pets that she got. Kai had taught her it was a very good thing to get pet. She didn't seem to understand that young man was pushing her away rather than petting when she had her face in his pocket, so she didn't budge until she heard Leon's demand. Once she was free, she was very interested in Zero's shadow. It was squirming to try to avoid her, but she didn't give up. The Ruunyx barked, pouncing on the shadow, all five tails jabbing down in an attempt to snag the hidden darkrai and drag it out to play.
Meanwhile, Leon glanced over to Ren, who was doing a lot better than expected against the unown. He had sort of expected the pampered pokemon to give up by now, but he still took down unown as ordered. Leon ended up throwing a ball at two of the downed unown, resembling a question mark and an exclamation mark.
Leon's attention was dragged back to Zero as he questioned him. "Yeah. That's been the rumor in these parts for as long as I could remember. Besides, she did want to get back into training, so even if it isn't true, it's still worth it, right?" the lifeguard replied, eventually motioning to his pokemon to keep up as he continued moving down the hall.

Zero's gaze rested squarely on Leon, paying little mind to the pokemon dealing with the Unown, and the fox pawing at his shadow. "I guess so. I can't help but have my doubts that something that convenient might exist." He mused, glancing back to check if any of the psychics defeated were new. None, it'd seem, the young man letting out a small sigh as Yin lightly kicks one of the fainted pokemon across the room. "...So what is your wish, then? If the story happens to be true."
Zero starts to follow out into the hall as Leon prepares to leave, only to find his body locked in place, limbs shifting and snapping into new positions as Inari's tails jab into his shadow. Nevermoor, still within and manipulating the darkness behind him, starts to fight against the string-like tails, shaking and twisting around to try shaking the little fox off, bringing the young man's body right along, two seperate forces shifting the control of his body around.

Ren continued to take down more unown, the only one not encountered before was one shaped like an X, which Leon caught. Leon continued to walk ahead, withholding a sigh at Zero's response. It wasn't a myth of 'convenience'. Something is bound to happen if you gather all of the unown, whether it's a wish or something else. "Haven't you ever heard if you tell someone your wish, it won't come true?" Leon commented. Of course, that wasn't really a belief he held, but he'd gladly use the excuse not to talk about it to Zero.
As they continued walking, Inari was discovering her knack for puppeteering. In trying to pull out the darkrai to play with, she ended up in control of Zero's movements. The Ruunyx yipped and growled a bit, pulling her tails this way and that, causing Zero's limbs to flail around. Leon noticed a lack of footsteps behind him, and as much as he didn't really like Zero's company, he stopped to look back. "Are you coming or wh-" he said, then cut himself off at the sight of Zero flailing uncontrollably. "Um. what?" the lifeguard raised a brow in confusion. Was this Ruunyx or something else? Either way, Leon turned back around to rejoin Zero, trying to figure it out.

The young man let out a breath as the lifeguard did little to pretend that they had much in the way of a friendly relationship, trying to keep a few steps ahead of him despite how they both saw that just turning away could get them separated. He hardly believed that the thing at the end of their little hunt had something as grand as a wish waiting for them, but if nothing else, he felt it couldn't hurt to find out what the two who came for that very thing wanted. "...Fair enough," he simply said, moving to keep pace as the taller male tried to walk ahead. "I'm sure it's better to keep selfish desires close to your heart." He thought aloud, referring more to himself than he was to Leon, but did little to clarify that.
As Inari jabbed the silver-haired trainer's shadow, Zero's body contorted uncomfortably, all of the young man's might doing nothing to help him fight against the fox's curious pulling. "I think Inari's stumbled upon something very unfortunate," he groaned out, trying his best to pull free of the fox's string-like tails, glaring daggers at Yin as she giggled quietly at his plight, pretending to be keeping all her attention on the Unown flying at them.

It was none of Zero's business what he would wish for if such a thing existed, and he felt indignant that he'd be assumed as selfish just for not sharing. Not that he had any idea that that wasn't what Zero had meant at all in his statement.

At least it wasn't like they were fast enough to strike first. Which was a relief. Leon caught the two of the three that he hadn't already collected, then turned his attention to Zero since the other male had fallen behind for some reason.

As much as Nova would've loved to assist her trainer, the cosmic Gardevoir was far too preoccupied dealing with the Unown coming their way. One after another, she blasted the small psychic-types out of the sky, and noticed some of the uncaught ones left in their wake had begun to float off as they regained consciousness. Yin, on the other hand, didn't seem like she had any intention on lending a helping hand. She just snickered at the boy's predicament, and kept to her post checking each of the pokemon coming their way, catching any variants that her trainer had yet to obtain.

After a while, it seemed some of those defeated and left lying on the floor decided they wanted a rematch. Nova turned about to look behind them only to find a sudden rush from a trio they'd already fought before, and quickly went about shooting them down before they could cause trouble. Nova seemed to start backing away closer to her trainer as the Unown came less and less from her side of the hall, only a handful rushing to strike at any given time. With the flow leaning more towards Nevermoor, the Mega Gardevoir expected to be able to assist her trainer soon enough, but until they completely stopped coming, she adeptly shot each and every one down, leaving Yin to swipe any new variants that they had yet to capture.

With one final, heavy blast of pink energy, the last Unown attacking Nova fell to the ground. The astral Gardevoir let out a breath as she stepped back, moving closer to her trainer before glancing over to Nevermoor. It didn't seem she needed any help on her end--The psychics throwing themselves into the two endlessly, seemingly uncaring as they're blasted out of the sky and swatted away like flies.

With one end of the hallway solidly blocked off by Nova's defense, the Unown seemed to flood the other side, hoping to potentially break through. Unfortunately for them, Nevermoor was more than ready to meet each of them, knocking down one after another in quick succession. Yin almost didn't notice as a new shape joined the crowd of the forms already captured, causing her to momentarily scramble for her ball in order to catch the small psychic before it got lost amongst the fainted bodies littering the floor.
