Aww, man... The hunter didn't have the heart to be impatient with such questions, nor did he want to break his heart. "W-where is your home?" Jason asked. "I'll see if I can get a portal set up." He'd have to ask around, get permissions, but surely it wouldn't that unreasonable a request, right? There was also the growling suspicion that there was something going on here that he felt he should know, but the answer still alluded him.

"I'm not sure," he began, "I think-"
- He suddenly stopped talking, staring at a point directly behind Jason, backing up quite rapidly. "Behind yo-"
And that is when a massive black mass very similar to an octopus tentacle poured out of the gate, grabbed Jason by the waist, and pulled him into the portal.
It was difficult to explain where Jason was, other than between, not quite in Halloween, not quite on Deus, as the thing curled around and around him, pure malevolence. It felt like Fear, but it felt old, older than anything Jason had experienced, and it shook him like a rag doll.
YOU HAVE THE KEY. For a minute it felt like it dragged Jason into thick water, it felt like he couldn't breathe, it felt like he was drowning. YOU ARE THE TRAITOR.

Jason saw him back away, and only had enough time to turn his head to see something large and black wrap it's slimy tentacle around his waist, and dragged him away. " RUN-" He screamed, before he was pulled through. The moon had no idea where he was. He couldn't feel the distinct pressure that came over him when he was in halloween, but it didn't feel like he was on the island anymore. Nor did he know what had him, the creature unlike anything he had known before, as if it had existed long before the concept of FEAR itself had. He shook in terror as he was wrapped more and more, thrown around like he was nothing, struggling in vain to get away from this thing. Then it spoke about a key. the blue key! It knew it had the blue key! Jason wanted to know more about what the key even was, opening his mouth to speak but instead inhaled that felt like water, choking on the substance. His frantic struggling grew weaker. "I don't understand!" He choked out a response. "What is...Why do I..."

DESTROY THE KEY.
If Jason had a second, he might have realized it was not speaking in actual words but just thought patterns created into images, thoughts. Whatever had wrapped around his waist was branching into tinier hands, each of them splitting into razor-sharp teeth. They began to curl along his skin, scraping against it at first-
- And then biting down so sharp, it felt like his flesh had been punctured by a thousand needles. The sensation crept through him, as if someone was meticulously picking through his flesh-
- It felt like he had died, and for a moment he did-
- Just a quick, brief moment before his mind began to scream and his heart pound madly, lungs struggling as something repelled his assailant and from the darkness formed a mirror.
Hurry, it whispered, just faintly enough. Hurry.
The mirror turned to face him, just slightly, and there was someone waving from the other side.

How the thing was communicating was barely registered over the more pressing issues, such as his lack of air and the black thing was splitting into many little hands and also the fact he was being told to destroy what he felt was a symbol of protection, the very thing that had kept the hunters safe. He didn't even understand it, so how could he destroy it? It was serving a purpose but what it was remained unclear. Jason couldn't dwell on this as the tiny hands were now tiny sharp teeth and were scrapping along his skin. He tenses in knowing what was going to happen- The pain that flashed through his being was excruciating. Every inch of himself was being pierced by those tiny teeth. He couldn't even scream, he didn't have the energy too, his consciousness fading away. For a moment, he thought he was dying, and perhaps thought it wouldn't be so bad, just to get away from this darkness, this pain- Then he was screaming, screaming at the top of his lungs, thrashing with renewed vigor. The coils were retreating and giving him room to move. Jason had no idea what was going on but something was forming in front of him, the darkness changing in a mirror that floated close by. A small voice urged him to hurry, and every inch of him rose to obey the simple command, He didn't want to die, not here, not anywhere. Adrenaline pulsed in his veins, arms pushed at his restraints as he swam towards the mirror, squinting at the figure waving to him trying to figure out who it was.

The figure was impossible to make out, there were too many shadows, and as Jason swam close, they reached out, hand grabbing him, and pulled him through, just as thousands of sharp teeth smashed against the edges of the mirror and scraped their teeth against the surface again and again.
"You're safe," said the reflection, and it indeed was a perfect reflection of Jason, every single trait copied like a mirror would be, "You can stay here now."
He could feel himself drifting away from the primordial thing and then he was back in the house, safe, unhurt, not bleeding. He brushed his coat down and summoned his weapon briefly to make sure it worked before splitting his face into a big smile.
It might have taken the real Jason a little longer to realize that he was no longer in control of his own body. poke mattix "REVERSE" Jason - take every personality trait Jason has and flip it, this is his reverse version (which you will now be rping UNTIL THE REAL JASON IS SAVED). The only time the real Jason has a chance to communicate to anyone is if the reverse version looks at a mirror and you see his reflection (the real one) - You are also free to rp this reverse version with whomever you'd like

Reaching out to grab the hand, Jason collapsed on the other side, shaking and sobbing from almost dying and having been eating by a thousand tiny mouths. He could still hear them trying to devour him through the glass, the hunter glancing over his shoulder and shuddering at the sight.
He looked forward, wiping his eyes on his coat sleeve, and looked up to see a perfect version of himself.
He was starting to lose track of how many times he had faced himself before. Regardless he was just happy to be safe, and let himself be carried away from this horrid place, back to the house which wasn't as safe as he'd preferred but shadowlings were much better then tentacles of darkness. He went through the motions, fixing his coat, making sure zanth was fine, cracking a big smile...
...Wait a sec.
Something was very wrong here...
