User Image Hikaru couldn't help but smile when the Haka smiled. Hikaru loved to flatter people who appreciated his company. He was taught it was the right thing to do. Hikaru settled a little more into the comfy pillows and sipped the amber liquid silently. He had never had hot tea before, except when Akemi left little cups of it around the house, and it was still slightly warm. He murmured quietly, listening to Aya's smooth-as-silk voice slide through his ears.

His eyes fluttered back open at the sound of Aya's question. "No, business has been awfully slow as of late. There's another little fruit stand down the road from us that sells the fruit a little cheaper, but I swear it's not as fresh. The Amaya family has been in the fruit business for a long time, but it makes my mother angry that the business has been slow lately."

Hikaru absent-mindedly shook his head a bit before taking another sip of his tea. "That's why I was off in the streets today. Since business is more slow, either my mother or father run the shop. They say I end up quivering too much about how there's dust on the fruit. What can I say, I like being clean and the things around me to be clean." He wrap a free hand around his ponytail without thinking, running his fingers through it to make sure it was sleek, shiny, and free of tangles.

"How about you, Aya, do you get a lot of business at Towa No Hana?" Hikaru nodded at Aya.

He instead looked away, not feeling up to retelling the whole story to his new friend and instead shrugged.

"Yea, horrible, disgusting, disturbing. It's alright though, he's not around anymore..."

That statement may have seemed like a lie since the scars were fairly new looking. His ears perked as he heard Shi move, looking back at him getting up. His dull expression turned to apologetic, Enju moving to grab his hand, tugging him down forcefully but gently. He grinned lookign down at Shi's hand, playing with his fingers and petting them.

"Sorry, I didn't..mean to snap. It's just a touchy subject.."

User ImageShi felt Enju grab his hand and pull him back, a look of relief dawning on his face before he turned back to Enju. The look was gone immediately as he faced Enju.

For a long time, Enju just held his hand. A pink tinge touched Shi's cheek's because of all the scars across his hands and palm. They were all from working, of course. Still, he wished they were smoother, softer so that Enju could enjoy the texture of them more. It was such a personal touch that Shi leaned on Enju's shoulder affectionately.

Shi replied to Enju's apology by saying quietly, "I'm sorry that I brought the subject up... I didn't mean to cause you any grief..."

He sighed and relaxed, the other Gehaka's touch on his hand was almost like a massage. His eyes felt heavy suddenly, the bath warming him and the gentle Gehaka beside him putting him at ease. With effort, he kept them open, staring blankly across the hot spring.

Without warning, Shi mused, "Enju...? Do you ever think about what it would be like to... get married? Do you think we'll matter to the Haka who marries us?"

Somehow, Shi had lapsed into deep thoughts about his future. He seldom thought about his future and tried his best to live in the present. Worrying only brought trouble. He nuzzled Enju's shoulder, some of his hair slipping down the other's chest.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Enju was stroking his hand more out of habit. He usually did that to his own hands, fidgeting, but at that moment he was just apologizng silently. He played with his fingers, rubbing each marred finger, massaging them gently.

Enju shrugged, liking the weight on his shoulder, placing his head on Shi's for a second before laughing a bit. "No, it's alright, it doesn't bother me," he said softly, not really minding at all. Pursing his lips a bit, he rested his head on his again, sniffing at Shi's hair absently, it smelling of the same fresh water that surrounded them.

He joined Shi in silence, just taking in the secluded steaming pool. A smile danced on his face, vibrating a bit as he laughed soundlessly. "I hope we do...as long as I'm not married off to some horrible Haka I'll be fine," he whispered, sneering at the thought of being married to a Haka that would take his flower shop and garden away. He shivered slightly, the soft hair tickling his chest lightly.

"What do you think it'd be like?"

Aya offered with a smile in response to what Hikaru had just told him. Downing the tea in one gulp, the young Haka set his now empty cup on the table before reaching up to tuck a few loose strands of his hair behind his ear.

The flowers that he had purchased from the Towa No Hana should be able to last till he reached home later on. For now, the violet-eyed Haka was simply content to spend the next hour or so here. With a good cup of tea and interesting company, who could really complain..?

It was probably a good thing that Aya had already swallowed his tea or he might have choked on said liquid amidst the good-natured laughter that next erupted forth from him at Hikaru's question. He? The owner of the Towa No Hana?

Oh yes... Aya had considered the option of obtaining ownership of the shop many a time but that was in the distant past. These days, he simply had not the time to invest his efforts in yet another shop given that he already had his hands tied up with the family business.

"Oh no... I'm afraid that you've made a mistake Hikaru. I'm not the owner of the Towa No Hana..."

User Image Shi felt the comfortable weight of Enju's head on top of his... he wasn't used to this kind of treatment. It was almost affectionate. Of course, he had never been treated this way by his mother or his mother's Gehakas. They usually ignored him and always thought he was in the way.

He could feel Enju's cheeks tightening into a smile atop his mass of tangled, long hair. A smile spread over his face too as Enju began to laugh. "I hope the Haka I marry isn't really petty... wanting to be carried around as if their feet were too fragile to walk themselves... and I don't think I'd like an abusive one..."

Shi winced openly, thinking how soon he could come to an end in the hands of an abusive master. He shivered a bit, wiping all traces of the thought from his mind.

"What being married would be like?" Shi asked curiously, bringing himself back into the conversation. He grinned again, one side of his grin quirking into a half-smirk. "I should think it would be terribly similar to marrying your own mother..." He bit his lower lip and snickered. "Could you imagine?"

He got up, put his hands on his waist and squeezed his wings in against his back. He pooched his lips out in a fake pout and made his voice all whiney as he mocked his mother. (Of course, he would never do this in his mother's presence, but he's not present is he?) "Shizuka! Bring me my tea! Shizuka, stand up straight so everyone will think you're worth something! Shizuka, don't be such a clutz!"

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Enju had a very large family but he was lucky that some of them were as sweet and caring as they were. He wasn't allowed affection, in order to be groomed into a fighter, but a few of his mother's Gehaka had grown fond of him and showed him.

Enju swished his legs around in the water, finally siting up and snickering at the thought of trucking a Haka around on his back. "That would be horrible," he laughed, pulling himself off the rocks to let the water crash over his head. He watched Shi amused, swimming back a bit to get a better view of his impression of his mother. He shook his head, chuckling hard. "No, I couldn't imagine at all," he muttered, grinning as he folded his arms and stood up a bit on the rocks himself.

"Enju, why haven't you been practicing you stance? Enju, get me more tea. Enju get me this, Enju get me that, whine, whine, whine, nag, nag, nag," he finished with a mischevious smrirk, his voice low and slow and his posture slumped lazily.

User ImageHikaru almost slapped himself with embarrassment. He had had a ditzy moment. He blushed a deep red and put a hand over his face. "M'sorry... I really must have misunderstood!" He tried to laugh a little, but it was an odd effort and he buried his face in his cup. He was enjoying the company of a nice Haka for once. His mother had been the only one he had ever known, and really, it was almost amazing to see one better tempered. Hikaru's vision of a Haka had been jaded so badly that he almost didn't want to be around them, but Aya was different.

"So then... what do you do when you're not buying flowers?" He knew it was a very personal question to ask a Haka, but all his questions so far had been answered without difficulty.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Seeing that Aya's cup was empty, the Fujimiya clan Haka's Gehaka escort refilled it almost immediately without further delay just as it was expected of him back at the Fujimiya residence. The violet-eyed Haka tilted his head some towards said Gehaka for the gesture, slim fingers already wrapping themselves around the steaming hot cup so as to bring it up to his lips which were curved in an amused smile at the moment.

His mother had always been kind and gentle to everyone who had the rare opportunity to be in his presence. In fact, it was only when his mother was out of the house that he had witnessed him put on a facade of aloofness and apathy in order to disguise the true personality that was hidden beneath. He had been taught that that was a necessary self-preservation act in order to keep other Hakas or power-hungry figures from taking advantage of him.

Having taken over all of his mother's previous duties since his death, Fujimiya Aya was merely acting in accordance to his mother's footsteps. It was a side of him that he had inherited from his mother other than his violet orbs afterall.

"Well... I run the Tsuki No Hana jewelry shop. Visit the nearby gardens when I have time to spare..."

Aya offered tentatively as a thoughtful expression crossed his face at the same instant. Truth be told, this was probably the first time that someone was asking him such a question. Something regarding his way of life which he had never really given much thought to but rather merely acted upon unquestioningly the entire time.

User ImageShi smiled back, lowering slowly into the water again. He chuckled lightly as he felt the water caressing his every curve. It felt hotter now that he'd been in the cool air. It was nearing late afternoon and the air was starting to n** more than it had when he first arrived at the hot spring. He sat on his knees and sighed, the water lapping at his chin while the rest of him was submerged. He sighed contemplatively.

"It's a wonder we're not prunes right now... we've been in here so long," Shi thought aloud. He wondered if Enju had any free time, he would very much enjoy showing his new friend where he worked, his mother's workshop, the Xang Zou (sp) river as it ran lazily by his home. "Enju, do you have time to come with me elsewhere? I mean, I know you're busy working here, but if you have some free time..."

He stared down at his pale skin, which was distorted in the water, but still shone brightly. He blushed a little, more that he was inviting Enju somewhere than for some rational reason. He rarely asked anyone to accompany him anywhere. Actually, he was usually a loner, and an antisocial one at that.

Enju sighed loudly, a relaxed and sleepy sigh. "We have been in here long. I can come with you. I work late at night into the morning so I have my days free." He sat up, swimming back over to Shi's side.

He pulled himself over to Shi, hands on either side of the pale Gehaka and heaving himself up so he was nose to nose with him as he spoke. "I'd love to see where your work," he said, a smirk on his face, dropping as he began drifting back towards where their clothes were. He was getting a bit drowsy anyway, and a good walk somewhere was just what he needed at the moment.

User ImageShizuka smiled again as he was lifted out of the water, rubbing his nose against Enju's as they were nose to nose. His eyes shone excitedly as he anxiously awaited bringing Enju to his workshop. He quickly swam back to his clothes and jumped out of the spring. He shook himself and flapped his wings to create a breeze so that he could dry quicker so they could leave. He was practically quaking with excitement. He was finally going to bring someone to see where he worked and spent his time!

"Erm... Enju? Where did you put my pants?" he asked, his brows furrowing as he finally got dry. He started pulling his hair back to tie it again as he searched for his dark green pants. He smirked and looked mischieviously at his fellow Gehaka. "You hid them didn't you? You're a foul (sp) little pants theif!"

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Enju stepped onto the rocks and ambled over to his clothes. He grabbed a towel he had, rubbing his hair dry, becoming a charming mess on his head. He smirked, resuming drying himself off. "Hm, maybe I might've," he snickered, pulling on his own, the towel draped across his neck.

"I don't seem to remember where I left them," he said, looking skywards in thought, still smiling slyly. He wasn't joking though, forgetting where he had thrown them in their little tussle. He walked over to Shi, taking the other towel he had brought and wrapping it around Shi's hips. Before he could do anything, he picked up Shi and held him up, thinking at this height, he could spot the pants around the edge of the pool or around. "See them anywhere?"
PostPosted: Wed Apr 05, 2006 6:07 am

User ImageShizuka wasn't quite convinced with Enju's answer and started shivering slighly as the late day air touched his slightly damp skin. Shi wasn't facing Enju when he wrapped the towel about his waist and tensed a little, then tucked the towel in so that it would stay on. Then Shi was suddenly lifted into the air!

He gasped and clambered (sp) to retain his balance, all the while the towel slipping away. He looked about, trying his best to find his misplaced pants. He hoped that he wouldn't have to walk through town in only a towel and his bare skin. (Though it might win him more attention from the Hakas. xp )

Finally, on a tree branch hanging near the spring, he spotted them! "Over there! On the tree. If you keep me boosted and walk over I can probably reach them..."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Enju gulped at the close contact, eyes slitted as he grinned and walked waveringly over to the tree. The sight would have been pretty comical for anyone who saw them. Thankfully, no gehaka usually came out to the back pool and the haka didn't know about it, with the exception of his mother.

Once Shi got his clothes he set him down, resting his hands on his neck and stretching. The warm water had relaxed everything and he was feeling good. He licked his lips, nearing the water's edge and sipping some froma seperate pool near the waterfall, made like a water fountain, fresh cold water continually flowing through it.
