Mara stared at her then shook her head. "No. I was hoping you would realize what I just said and understood it. It is cursed, it is in her profile. This isn't a memento or token of family...he spirit isn't in it or around it. She died to it...her malice died to it. I am not going to have you be number three " she said sternly. "Find your own sword... one that first you proper than taking those of the dead"

Melody hadn't expected Mara to outright decline, a look of pain before it turned to a hint of animosity. "Fine." she spoke simply and turned her head away. "...leukos.."
Leukos kept a stone face but still frowned. Looking to Mara, he didn't appear to contest the decision, nodded at Melody and wheeled her out of the room without a word.
Kae sighed, "So I have a question... Do you need a drinking partner?"

Mara looked over at Kae and sigh. "Yea... as soon as we figure out where we are going to hide the sword. Sister like Sister right?" she muttered and sighed tiredly. "Actually I better go hide it before she orders Zira to come take it or something. Kae tell me.... does the words cursed sword mean anything to you? like a warning or anything? " getting as headache from all of this. This was for her protection, not that she didn't want her to have the stupid sword but she always ended up with the bodies of the people it killed.

Kae nodded, "I would bet money that she would try." she commented, covering up Hexxis' body completely with the sheet and wheeled her to one of the cold chambers, completely used to this sort of thing. "Okay, so think about who you're asking... of course I would see it as a challenge.. but who knows what she sees it as." she answered, sliding the body in and closing the door, dusting her hands off reflexively and moved to the sink to wash her hands and walked over to Mara. "It's probably best you hide it. If she's anything like her sister, she'll end up in a cold chamber too." she spoke coldly but simply.

"Well you would see it as a challenge ..you are probably ideal to handle it too. She isn't and I know... follow Hexxis and Ashral into the cold box. Ugh remember we have to take some bone pieces " saying it now instead of when they were there. Melody wanted something to remember Hexxis by..that was one way. "Hey can you distract Zira for me? I'm really paranoid right now. I'll call you when i'm done and we can get those drinks?"

There was a slight grin that tugged at her lips. "I know, I know." she responded then quirked an amused eyebrow. "Of course. Have fun." she turned to move back to the cold chamber and Zira rose from shadows that pooled up on the floor next to Kae, her blue eyes shifted over to Mara, peeking through raspberry hair before looking to Kae and nodded, pulling the tray that held Hexxis back out halfway and then moving off to look for a specific utensil. Kae looked over to Mara and gave a small nod.

Mara wiggled her eyebrows at Kae and headed off with the sword. It will take her a while to find somewhere to hide it but she would. Then call Spectrum and go down the list from there.... wondering all the way nw if Ama was following her.

Leukos wheeled her back to the medical room and moved her to the edge of the bed. "Don't go against her." he spoke coldly out of nowhere.
She shot a glare at Leukos before it faded to a look of pain and she looked away. "I feel conflicted. I... I don't just want it... It's.. It's mine." she commented quietly. "But I don't want to disobey Mara... she's my mother.. and I don't want to end up like Hexxis."
Leukos showed a flicker of confusion. "It's not yours. It's Hexxis'. It killed Ashral. And it killed Hexxis. She's right, you'll be next if you take that sword. Just let it go." he pushed, his voice stern.
"You don't understand!" she exclaimed, looking at Leukos with tears in her eyes. "I feel empty... and the sword.. It calls to me."
"And that sounds completely okay enough to just want to have it? Take it even? Now I know you've gone insane." Alice's voice interrupted through Melody's lips.
"Says the same person who repeated disobeyed their mother on a whim of becoming complete. Don't you dare tell me anything, Alice! I'm not insane, it's what I feel."
Leukos' expression began to shift into a deeper worry as he watched Melody fight with Alice.
"It was for love, not for some stupid cursed sword that killed my family members. You chose to be with Mara and you'd risk that already just to have a damn sword that will literally end up through you?"
"Better I control how I die than running off like my sister to get killed by others... I'm sure she thought she was saving people too... only to get murdered and leave their sibling behind to wonder why. Why were you so damn selfish."
There was a growl from Melody's lip. "And you're being a naive child like her too, thinking that having a sword to complete you is going to bring you anything but destruction. At least my sacrifice did save people. Hexxis died for nothing." she hissed.
Leukos flared his hair. "Hey!"
"I am not a child!!" she exclaimed, coming to a shaky stand. "My actions will make a difference... I can be strong like Mara."
"I will have no part in your stupidity. You'll kill us both." she spoke bluntly.
"You don't have to!" she hissed back, pushing at Alice harder and the fracture in her soul deepened.
"Melody, stop!" he shouted in panic, watching the war exacerbate the cracks within her soul. "You're hurting yourself!"
"I don't care!" she shouted back. "This is not your fight. Either help me or leave!" there were tears in her eyes.
His eyes showed his pain as his voice became soft. "...melody.."
"GET OUT!" she screamed in anger.
Leukos hesitated, frowning and took a step back. He didn't want to leave, but she would not allow him to stay if he wouldn't help her. Feeling such a conflict, he slowly exited. Leaning against the door as soon as it closed and sliding down it into a sit and buried his face into his hands. '...what do i do...' 'Not much if she's so set in her ways. Just help keep her safe if she does decide to go for the sword..' Leukos sighed in distress. He had no idea how to help Melody without giving her the one thing he was sure would kill her.
Melody had building anger within her as she gritted her teeth and closed her eyes. Folding out her arms suddenly, metal wires lashed out, cutting deep gashes into the walls near the door, whipping about her, cutting her hair down to just below her jawline as she cried out and dropped to her knees into a sob.
Leukos heard her cry out and he couldn't stop himself from bolting up and running back into the room and lunged for her, despite the wires, despite the pain of their lashes as they cut past his clothes deep into his skin. Wincing, he pulled Melody into a tight embrace. "Melody.. stop... please... I can't bear to see you like this..."
Melody felt Leukos suddenly embrace her and the wires died down, trying to push away for a moment before she stopped and hugged him back slowly. She broke down into an endless stream of tears as she buried her face into his chest. "...I don't want to die..."
Leukos just held her tighter. "As long as I draw breath, I will fight to protect you. Just because I don't help you, doesn't mean that has changed." he assured, taking in a shaky breath. "Please don't take the sword. No matter what you think it will do, it is cursed, and it will only kill you in the end. So if you don't want to die, then give up on it. Mara wouldn't lie about it. She's worried about you, and so am I. We are both trying to protect you."
Melody nodded slowly. "...i'm sorry..." she mumbled. "...i don't want mara to hate me..."
"..then listen to her."
Melody nodded again.
Leukos picked her up into his arms and moved to lay her in the bed. "For now, just rest... take it one day at a time.. We'll make it through this." he commented, sitting down in the chair next to the bed as he slipped his hand into hers and laid his head on the edge of the pillow near hers.
Melody watched him, worry on her expression as she saw he was bleeding. She moved her head closer to his, resting her forehead against his and began to heal him. Closing her eyes, she eventually fell asleep.

Leukos waited until she was definitely fast asleep before exhaling softly and carefully letting go of her hand, and coming to a stand. Although he could just tell Mara telepathically, he still wanted to discuss some things and see if there was anything he could help with. Moving out, he went to look for Mara, after checking multiple places and coming up empty handed, he tried Mara's room, knocking gently. "Mara?" he called out through the door.

Mara nursed a glass as she stared across at an empty chair ".......think he's there?" she muttered taking another sip as she turned her gaze to Kae. "I still remember the ti-.... "she stopped and looked toward the door taking a deep breath "Come in!" she shouted back, making no move to get up, the voice sounded vaugly familiar and that was enough fro her.
Ametrine paced in front of the empty chair Mara had been staring at, a flicker of embarrassment in his light as Mara had been rambling about stupid mistakes he had done as a kid. He wasn't even so if she was doing that in an attempt for him to leave or to drunk to care.

Kae had the most amused look on her face as she nursed the bottle of wine in her hand, forgoing the glass completely. "Probably." she chuckled, taking another swig. Her attention was turned to the door as someone knocked.
Leukos entered the room and immediately spotted the pacing spirit looking slightly distressed. His vision flickered down to Mara and Kae and then the alcohol they were drinking. "....am i.. interrupting?"
Kae raised an eyebrow. "Not really. Want to drink?" she asked, holding up the wine bottle a little.
Leukos frowned. "Okay.." he moved forward and then looked to Kae in confusion. "What is it?" he asked, sitting down with them, a flicker of a concerned gaze to Ametrine.
Kae shook her head. "Ehh just drink it." she poured a glass and shoved it into his hands. "Oh... what did you come for?"
Leukos took a sip, an almost disgusted look on his face, scrunching only because the taste was not what he expected. But the look Kae gave him, he continued to drink it anyway. "Well, Melody told me that she feels empty and thinks the sword would complete that. She said it called to her... It has me concerned. She and Alice fought and that's what is fracturing her soul. In the end, I think I convinced her to let go of wanting the sword, but I don't know how long that will last if it's calling to her." he explained.

Mara sighed and moved to respond when Kae offered Leukos a drink. A faint smirk reached her lips as she sipped and watched the meta take his first sip, chuckling at the disgusted look on his face. "Welcome to the world of drunken times" she laughed leaning back, at least this was one way he differed from Tri. Tri would be disproving completely of what they were doing and be plotting to hide what bottles she had even as he admonished her.
She took another sip of her drink and made a face as everything turned sour with the mention of Melody. "I wouldn't be surprised if Cursed swords do that...Melody would have been the closest to its former host. It's not like we know because Muramusa family is pretty much deaddy de dead dead...dead? Unless Ashral told Ree something...good luck hunting him down about that" she snorted with quite a bit of anger.
"So Alice talked to her and you did to, good. If she talkes about it again... tell me. Who knows if it she is just obsessed with it or if it has done something to her braain. Oh hey....no...hahaha I almost told you where I hid it" loosening a little more information than usual.

Kae laughed at his twisted face at the drink. "No different from when you were drinking coffee as a kid." she commented with a grin, taking a another swig of wine.
Leukos frowned. "I had very little choice if you all wanted to live..." he replied dryly then sighed, trying to take another sip before giving up and setting it down. "I agree. I think it's reaching out to her because it's the closest soul connection it has." His expression became cold as she mentioned Ree, having an obvious disdain for the idea of him. "We tried. She lashed out... quite literally." he turned his arms over to show the gashes in his coat. "She expressed a deep want to not go against you, it's the last thing she wants. So if at all, she goes for the sword, it may not be her thinking straight..or at all." He paused as Mara admitted she almost told him where she hid the sword and sighed. This stuff was.. making them act weird, and he wasn't sure he liked it.
"The sword whispers to people... tries to get a new owner. It's what it does. It's a cursed sword after all. Shoot, if she wanted any other sword, I have plenty.... Also, don't waste my alcohol."
Leukos exhaled in a slight reluctance. Taking up the glass, he took a sip then set it back down. Another glare from Kae made him pick it up and just hold it. "...So this is what you do behind closed doors." he commented, staring down at the glass. "..why?... it tastes terrible."
"Ehh, just wait until you're an adult and Vale gets older... You'll be asking for this bottle then." she snorted, finding it highly amusing that he was questioning it.
Leukos looked up to Ametrine. "...I have a feeling that's not the real reason... And I bet you don't even approve of this."

"Coffee eh. Surprised your as tall as you are, isn't that supposed to cut your growth rate or something?" She snorted as she took another sip, not caring how accurate or inaccurate she was as she blurted the first thing that came to mind. "Hm...should have made Tri drink it.... to tall " she laughed.
She took a breath and tried to focused back on the conversation. "She actually cares about what I think that much?" She looked surprised as she held the cup frowning as she looked down into it. "Hey you can see spirits...can you make it not try to go after Melody? I don't know... what if we put it in a box that is against Phasing? " she muttered swirling the liquid in her cup idly, again just blurting as things came to mind. "But it's cursed....maybe melt it down is best. The cursed puddle of metal ..just like Hexxis ring" she frowned. "Hexxis liked her cursed things, even her name "
Mara laughed a moment later "a bottle? Try two" she chuckled at the thought.
Ametrine ruffled his feathers, throwing some light as he watch them all, looking up in alarm when Leukos addressed him. He had forgotten already.
"No, I don't. They don't do it for the taste so much as the affect. Forgetting their worries and stressed for a day. In moderation ...sure, but Mara can over due it a lot to. Trisuri used to hide the bottles when she went to far, but she had moderated some since then at least. " he said with a sigh as he floated in front of Leukos. "If you don't want to drink it put it down and tell them. They push tell them that I will tell you all the stories I can still remember about Mara and our father " he said turning away to look at the other two with crossed arms, disapproving. "Fair turn"

"Ehh that's a myth." she snorted. "or hack at the knees..." she paused and laughed. "Before you say anything, I'm joking." Leaning back she sighed with a smile she barely carried. "My son was the same, he grew so fast. They both did..."
"She does." he quirked an eyebrow. "Neither sword has a spirit. So I don't know what else I can do." he sighed. "Melody is different... She's...not cursed."
"Hate to break it to you, but the whole damn family is cursed. Sorry not sorry."
Leukos made a frustrated noise. Looking to Ametrine he nodded and set down the glass. "You drink it, I don't want it." he spoke to Kae even if he didn't look at her. "In hindsight, neither of you should be drinking.. It's clouding your minds. Maybe I should hide the bottles like Tri..." he sighed, muttering under his breath. "I might still be interested in those stories about Mara and your father... Sounds like fun." he teased, even if his face barely showed it.
Kae was laughing uncontrollably by this point.

"Ha ha..ha" she made a face as she was reminded of Zeph and what they had down below. She sighed with the next words though, reminded of Ree. If she knew then what she knew now ..she might have tried to spend more time with them as kids.....maybe. Eh hehehe.
Mara looked over at Leukos having no idea about curses or what even to look for, just going along with what she saw in movies. There seem to be some bases in reality somehow. She started giggled that broke into laughter before she waved "sorry sorry, then we melt it. No more curse or at least no more stabbity curse " she started giggling again only to crack up at Kae's next words.
"Yea cursed to all be related " that time it was a lot harder to calm down.
"Aww Leukos! Come join us get drunk!" She grinned only for it to fade to a confused look before being followed by completely horrified. "You don't you dare and Ama I'm going to put you in a freaking bottle and use you as a nightlight for eternity! You hear that eternity!!" Still looking utterly horrified as she stared around and downed the rest of her drink. "I need more wine...."
Ametrine smirked slightly at them but looked at Leukos. "Good. You have to stand up to them sometimes. " he smiled.
