It would take an almost hilariously short time before Nim would encounter her first Pokemon, though it would be difficult to tell at first. So well was it adapted to it's natural environment, the Ice-type blended in with the snow to the point of being nearly invisible! What one couldn't ignore however was the near constant sniffling and a loud "SNUCK". It's fur slick from melted snow, and maybe a bit of snot in the front, ears twitching as it shivered, a Cubchoo was sitting alone on a rock. As it turned to face Nim upon noticing her, the large frozen 'snot-bulb' hanging from it's nose would swing. The Pokemon cried with glee upon seeing her....actually it seemed like it had been outright crying till a second ago. Sniffling more, the Pokemon would stand up and spread it's arms as it ran towards her. Aww, it wanted a huuuuuuuug!

In the Garden of Monsters
Sol raised a curious brow. Well this was oddly unprompted. Usually people threw a fit and tried to beat him up after he'd sold them something. was why he tended to book it before they could find out what was wrong with whatever he sold them. Still he'd gotten a few bruises in the past....though he never lost a cent. "Well one good shock deserves another. Umbra, use Thunderpunch!" The boy ordered with a snap of his fingers.
Umbra's eyes glowed brightly, his limbs creaking as his a rapid ticking sound echoed from his chest. He was to be thrust into battle once more! ">I am no Doc, I am how you get there<" The Gollet announced, slamming his fists together. As he charged forward he'd swing one arm, sparks building around his fist. When he got closer he'd bring it down like a hammer; looked like he was going to play Whack-a-Bunnelby!
Starter Pokemon: Golett Name & Level: Umbra, Lv 3 [Temperament] Brave Bio: Shaped from clay and given life centuries ago, this Golett was created with a singular purpose: to serve the people of his homeland. In times of peace that meant simple feats of strength, hauling limber and iron. In times of war...acts far more grim in nature. His last images of a world long lost to the sands of time, were of his comrades and redness of flame. Then....darkness.
When he rose again it was to the shattered ruins of what once was, and the broken forms of other Golett. He wandered the remains of the castle for a time, but departed before long. There was no point in protecting a land which had been forgotten by the ages, and so he went in search of a new "purpose". It was this same search that would lead him to the tunnels beneath Roshan City. A veritable maze, the tunnels see frequent use by smugglers and those of less than legal enterprises. It was here that he encountered Sol, and where he found purpose once more. Dubbed "Umbra" by the boy, he once more found himself with a home and people to serve; but in his ticking "heart" he knew it was only a matter of time before he once more graced the battlefield.
Witches flying on broomsticks was a myth you know, a myth! That's the explanation for why Altair would give if asked why he had never practiced it, and why all he could do was shut his eyes and hold on tightly to his hat as he dropped in to places unknown.

Trafalgar Vince Olympius X Mood: Happy Battle Information: N/A
Trafalgar and Trust observed the scene that had abruptly occurred ahead of them. He wanted to help the little Bounsweet. "Isn't it a little dangerous for such a little Pokemon, like you to be here?" Trafalgar asked the fruit Pokemon. He pushed the Pokemon until it plopped completely into the bush. He got a spontaneous idea, "Bounsweet, why don't you come with me? I'll protect you!" he offered to the sweet Pokemon.
See that was the inherit problem with not understanding what a Pokemon was saying. Sure you could understand that it was trying to hide, but it was easy to forget that the Pokemon was fleeing in terror from something worth hiding from.
Thick pincers loaded with barbs would snap together as the insect ran forward, branches snapping as it charged recklessly. Within moments Trafalgar would be faced with a wild eyed, hungry looking Pinsir. Eyes darting, it would search out the Bounsweet...and when it didn't manage to spot it, those eyes would level on the boy right in front of it. With the Bounsweet nowhere to be found it seemed Trafalgar was now on the menu!
Yet this was no Pokemon defenders it's territory, this was a beast on the hunt. There would be no warning as the Pinsir lunged for the young student. If Trafalgar didn't act fast he was in serious trouble! Caught in a classic Vicegrip!
[Roll 1D20 to try and evade the Pinsir or call a Pokemon to defend you! Also rolling.]
Trafalgar was in quite a predicament...this was honestly quite horrible. A giant bug Pokemon was literally lunging for him at this very moment. No time for anything else, Trafalgar needed to DODGE this attack. He leaped out of the way, hoping fate would be on his side, and he would be able to dodge this attack. He had entered himself in quite a unfortunate situation but he had to see it through...hopefully he would be able to.
Sadly the boy was not faster thant he bug, and within seconds he'd be caught in those vice like pincers. They'd slowly squeeze his body, barbs tearing against skin; yet as it was only just starting it was like a hug compared to what was going to happen if this managed to continue!
"Aaaaahhhh!" Trafalgar would yell out in pain as he was caught between the Pinsir's pincers. He kicked against the bug, trying to slip away freely. This was bad. He needed to get free and now!
Kicking frantically, the boy would manage to catch the Pinsir in the eye. Hurt but not damaged, the insect would release it's grip on the child and drop him. He was free, but he'd have to think fast, and act even faster before it recovered. Little doubt she wasn't going to take the slight sitting down. He was still very much on the menu!

Trafalgar had a great idea...at least he hoped it was. Quickly after having been freed from the Pinsir's grasps...he reached into his bag and took out the "??? Salad". Maybe this is what the professor had prepared it for....a Poisonous salad ready to get rid of the enemy at a moments notice! Trafalgar placed the salad in front of the Pokemon. It didn't look like a herbivore......but...he believed in his professor's abilities.
This time, it wasn't the pilot who'd throw out the student out of the 'copter; rather, the bird with kick the witch good and hard. Fortunately, there would be a massive and oddly fluffy snowbank waiting for Altair when he landed. He'd come out at the top of Everlast Summit, the tallest mountain on the island and one of the highest points on the island. It was up to him to make his way down and see where things were.

The Pinsir would click it's pincers in anger, mandibles wriggling....until a certain delectable aroma hit it's....scent sensory....things. How exactly did a Pinsir smell? Either way it would look from the child to the salad and back again. A moment's hesitation, and then with gusto it would devour the salad. Perhaps a little too much. Despite the fact it was eating a salad, the Bug-type would tear into and consume it with a viciousness that was...unsettling to say the least.
Once the morsel was eaten the Pinsir would toss aside the plastic container...damaged beyond repair, but amazingly uneaten...and stagger off down the path. Either it was off to search for more food...or a good place to nap.
The danger past the Bounsweet would come out of hiding to greet the boy ">Thank you Mist....<" Suddenly it's words would stop as an all too familiar scent hit it's nose. Taking small steps, the Grass-type would approach the plastic container and what little flecks of the Salad remained. For a moment it would stare in silence, yet with each second the horror on it's features would grow. ">You....YOU MONSTER!!!!!<" The Bounsweet cried before it ran off down the path, tears streaking it's face. Trafalgar hadn't known...how could he?...but that had been Chef Lux's special 'Bounsweet and Oddish Salad'.
Well at least the Pinsir wasn't trying to eat him anymore right?

Nim hadn't even notice the Cubchoo at first... she'd wondered if perhaps Eins was ill. Could ghosts even get sick? But the location of the noises would give the Cubchoo away. For a moment, all she could do is stare. But with a horrified shriek, she took of running at top speed. Why were all Pokemon so disgusting?!
Eins, for her part, had been considering hugging the Cubchoo to help out... but her loyalty was to Nim first and foremost, so she followed.
[[Rolling for evade!]] [1/10]
Starter Pokemon: Mimikyu [F] Name & Level: Eins, Level 3 [Temperament] Lonely Bio: Eins spent most of her pre-capture time haunting a candy store and sneaking free lollipops into the pockets of screaming children. She'd have been content to stay that way but for the will of the cult. Indeed, she was actually caught by Nim's sponsor, and given to the girl in an attempt to give her a step up when it came to fighting. The sponsor also has a slightly better sense of humor than Nim-- giving a Mimikyu a Mimikyu! No one could count on Nim's dislike of Pokémon being quite as... intense as it was, for the girl can barely stand to look at her starter. Nim couldn't even name the creature properly, just giving it a number for a name. For her part, Eins isn't too fussed; humans are strange, and she'll melt her trainer's heart one way or another... possibly by giving it a heart attack, but still. ((13+5)-10)+(11-6) = 13 DMG! Bunnelby is at 1 HP!
The Bunnelby was knocked backwards flat on his rump. He shook himself off, climbing awkwardly to his feet. Narrowing his eyes, he switched his whiskers, grumbling. /I'll have you know,/ he panted, /that this means waaaaaaaar./ Hissing as terrifying as a bunny rabbit could (which wasn't very), he launched himself forward with an Iron Head.

Cold, but thankfully not dead. Altair thanked the stars above for blessing him with this convenient mound of snow. After a quick assessment of himself to make sure nothing was lost on the way down, he brought his cloak over the front and tied it shut. That would at least take care of the warmth issue, now as for the mission...
Well, it wouldn't be a test of strength if it wasn't difficult. Altair moved forward into the snowy expanse, hoping his instincts wouldn't lead him down an unlucky path.
