Shun also still had the pendant. It was probably one of the lingering remnants of the old cage that still remained. He was kind of surprised it still worked, really.
Making his way to the car, he silently went on back in, waiting for Chel to do the same.

Chel was quieter; still chattered about how she and Chris had decorated the apartment, but nothing particularly heavy or requiring Shun's participation. She just needed to fill the silence.
The drive back followed similar suit, although Chel spent most of it with her face pressed against the tiny heat dispenser. She really needed better clothes for the cold.
"Thanks fer doin' that," she told him as they arrived back at the apartment. "You can think of yer Christmas present as payment f'it makes it easier."

Once they were back at the apartment, Shun let out a breath and started to get out of the car. He just shrugged lightly at Chel. Payment works, he supposed. Even if all he did was effectively be a chauffer for the time being.
"Yeah, yeah..."

Chel raised an eyebrow. "What, d'you not want it?" she asked with a quirked smile as she walked up the stairs to the third floor where Shun's apartment waited. "'Cause I actually can't return this one."
When they reached the top she waited for Shun to open the door. "I'll take the tea now though, damn."

Now that had Shun raising his brow. He really didn't have any idea of what she was planning on giving him. So he just shook his head to himself, took off his boots, then went to get some hot tea made. It was nice and warm inside of the apartment; a stark difference to the weather outside right now.

Chel snickered and kicked off her shoes for the moment. It took some rustling through her bag, but she eventualyl pulled out a plain looking card. It wasn't wrapped and there was no endearing card attached to it. It had the name of Shun's gym in big bold letters, followed by a barcode and various logos.
She sauntered over to him and knocked into his side, holding up the card for him. "S'yer gym membership. S'paid for 2017."

Looking down at the card, it took Shun a moment to realize just what it was he had been handed. Blinking, he soon found himself staring at Chel.
"Are you crazy?" he asked.
This could not have been cheap for her. He wasn't sure how much she was making at that 7-11 but his guess that it probably wasn't that much more than what was minimum wage.

Chel had to think about that for a moment but then she snorted and pointed a figer at him (thankfully no snapping or nerf darts to the face) with an "ayyy" kind of gesture.
Her laughter died and she leaned over the counter next to where he was preparing the hot water.
"Go on a date with me, Grumpy." She said it casually, leaning over again to watch his reaction. It was bound to be interesting.

Shun furrowed his brow at that.
"A date...?"

"I will have to pass on that," Shun answered as he set the cups of tea into the coffee table.

She couldn't say this hadn't been a possibility.
"How come?"

Shun closed his eyes, "Because I am not interested in dating."
Dating typically had certain implications attached to it, he felt.
"Why not ask Jack?"
