She smiled. Of course he would. How many sea snails would he bring her, she wondered?
"I haven't been out on the sea properly. I mean, I still see some nice fish here and there, but not many. I've got mostly crabs and brown blobby fish near me. Oh, and snails. Barnacles." She happily tangled her fingers in his.
"You're not seeing any other girls, are you?" Not that she would exactly call this 'seeing.'

"No. What other girls, I don't even notice, I'm usually concentrating on fishing or finding you." Blobby fish huh, they sounded disgusting. He would be okay with crabs as long as they were not on him, but her blob fish sounded ugly and he was not apt to have one close to him ever. He liked barnacles they waved at you when they were feeding, it was cute. "You arn't seeing any other men?" He didn't think she would but still.

"No, of course not," she said, smiling up at him. "I don't want to either. I just thought that I should check."
All she knew of courting came from nobility, who were very formal and open about it, or from the other slaves, who were more desperate and secretive. This didn't seem to be either of these things, and she wasn't even sure she'd call it 'courting,' but it was something like it. She wouldn't trade it for the world, not even for a fancy noble boy like the ones she used to fantasize over saving her. That wasn't how the world worked but this, apparently, was

Theriar hummed and wiggled until his head was in her lap and his feet hanging off the edge of the couch. "Trelly, you are the pearl of my life, without you I would just be an empty oyster shell." He gazed up into her gorgeous orange eyes. "Thank you, for everything, I wouldn't have turned into the first ice/alk fisherman in Matori without you, I wouldn't be as happy either." He reached up and threaded a gentle hand through her long dark hair. Soft as silk, he had always liked how it flowed down her back and fanned out in the water.

Trelenwy smiled and began to stroke Theriar's hair. She only dared to touch his antenna once, as they may well be too sensitive for such a thing. She couldn't stop herself from just one gentle stroke, though. She smiled when he spoke and caressed his cheek.
"We were always something," she insisted, "but together we are better." She felt the same way about him, after all! She did rather like being compared to a pearl, though.
She shook her head. "Perhaps this was how it was meant to be."

"I think it is meant to be." he said amiably. Cupping her check in one hand. She was a rare find in a cruel world. He wanted to be with her for forever. He twitched feeler invitationally, "They don't hurt, go ahead and touch if your curious." He turned so he wasn't staring at her, letting her explore him as was her want. Trying not to purr in contentment.

"Okay,"she said with a smile. In fact, she might think that Theriar even liked having them touched. Maybe it was like having someone rub your back, except they were growing out of the top of your head! She turned to his feelers, stroking them with her palms and the back of her hands, sometimes just a finger, sometimes stroking them like a cat's tail. She was smiling contentedly the whole time.

Time Warp! Theriar tapped on Trel's door, holding two fishing rods and a smile on his face. Today was a gorgeous day, a perfect day for fishing, he had packed food, water, bait, some sweet things he had found at the market and a few small presents for Trelenwy like a leather bracelet and a journal that he thought would suit her. She could cataglog her progress with the farm and look gorgeous as ever doing it. He checked the knotting on the hooks while he waited for her to appear and tried not to fidget too much, one must give his lady some time as it was not proper to rush.

Trelenwy didn't have all too much getting-ready to do. She combed her fingers through her hair and tied it up as she approached the door. It could be anyone, she supposed, but there was one person who she definitely hoped it would be. Still, her expression was vacant and perhaps a little peevish until she realized that it was in fact Theriar. She smiled and looked over all of the things he was carrying.
"Were you fishing?" she asked. He seemed to have some kind of picnic with him.

"No not yet, I was wondering if maybe you wanted to come with me? You know make a day of it, leisurely fishing on the ocean, watching wildlife, eating food, stuff like that?" He hoped to all the gods that she said yes, he was so excited about the whole concept, being with his best friend and fesh and having fun without worry for once, whatever he caught on this trip was a bonus and could feed them. "I brought lots of food, so of course I need someone to help me eat it," he waggled his eyebrows at her.

"Oh!" She eyed the things he carried and shrugged. 'Sure! I know how to row a boat. You don't need to borrow mine, do you?" Not that she didn't want to share, she just knew Theriar had his own, and if it was gone something bad had happened and she'd have to go help him get a new one. Then again, he just might not have been able to carry it all this way if carrying was what he did. Maybe she'd even find a few oysters out there! With that in mind, she turned around and began going through her closet, looking for her net. When she had it she came back to the doorway. It was just a little wooden thing, but it would keep the oysters safe and alive if she did find them.

He grinned hugely, "Nope! We can take mine, to celebrate my slightly bigger boat, I up sized not too long ago with the profits I managed to pull in." It had a sail so less rowing, and he had practiced with it for quite a while to get the hang of it. All in the name in embarassing himself as little as possible in front of her, a little was okay but loosing the mast was not. "Shes all set, if there is anything you need grab it, if not then let sail!" He said enthusiastically.

"You did? Congratulations! Your new job is going well then, I think?"
She stepped out of the doorway and closed it behind her. A latch on the outside could easily be flipped, but it was still there as a deterrent and she flipped it closed. Maybe some day she'd be able to afford one with a proper lock and key! She certainly didn't want to lose any more product to thieves.
"I've never been in a sail boat before," she said as she admired the vessel that had been pulled into her little stretch of beach. It was a real beauty.

"I had a few good hauls in a row and upgraded, now I can get a little more product to market, after I took some time learning how to run the silly thing." He grinned and patted the wood affectionately. "It beats rowing when the wind is up I tell you." He was happy with the progress he had made and now he could take his lady out and not be all sweaty and stinky at the same time! He put the food in and clambered up offering her a hand in before unfurling the sail and letting the wind nudge them gently off the beach. "A lovely day at sea."

Trelenwy probably didn't need his hand, but she took it anyway and stepped carefully into the boat. It was quite an upgrade, wasn't it? She admired the tight seams and the full sail and smiled. Finally her gaze returned to Thorn.
"I'll be your first mate," she said, sitting down aaway from the sail. "The only problem is that I have no idea what to do!" She gazed off at the blue expanse, sighed, and smiled. Who would have thought that her life would go this way?
