Student name: Oran Recipe:Cookie dough brownie pie Oran had been excited to finally reach the age where she could take baking for an elective. Ever since her dad died and she moved in with her brother she had taken over most of the cooking. Mostly because her brother got so absorbed into his classes and work that he forgot to eat.
The point was that she loved baking as much as she liked researching about magic. She had even picked out a recipe to try. Only Problem was that when she went to make the reciepe she had wanted to add a creative twist. When she had used white chocolate it had just came out disastrous. It was way to sweet, sweet enough that eating pure sugar would probably give you less of a tummy ache. However she wasn't going to allow this to stop her. She tried again only adding a little bit of caramel but using the darker chocolate. While still a tiny bit sweet it was lovely. She definitely couldn't wait to share it later.

71-80 Too much sugar! A Little Sweet but still edible.
Liath was excited to take another baking class last time he had pulled off flawless cookies. This time he was going to try something a little more difficult. Crembrule it was a sweet custard with caramelized sugar on top, it had to be cooked at the right temperature for the right amount of time to prevent from breaking. Pulling it out of the oven slowly he made quick work of putting it into a blast chiller for a few seconds, just long enough for it to set a little. The then sprinkled sugar on it and with a blow torch caramelize the sugar on top. He knew as soon as looking at it that the layer of sugar on the top was too thick and he had put too much. He hoped that wouldn't make it come out too bad. Trying it he admitted it was sweet but that was the point of desert right?

Oiche wasn’t sure what she was doing in baking class. Wait it was because well she sucked when it came to baking. She could probably burn water. However she wanted to get better because it was unfair to leave the cooking to her father all the time. She wasn’t sure pastries and sugary things were the way to start into but she never did do things half assed and after all who didn’t like desserts. She got a recipe and started baking things adding raspberry instead of caramel. Unfortunately what came out wasn’t edible by any means. Why was she experimenting all ready when this was the first attempt at really baking?
She wasn’t sure so she went back and followed the recipe making sure that her little twist was really really simple. This time it came out beautifully. She stared down at the cookies and smiled taking a bite of them. They even tasted pretty good too.

1-20 You found a recipe, but you diverged so much from the science of baking that your dessert didn't even resemble what you were trying to make. Good thing this isn't for grades ...
21-30 You had a mishap with the beaters, putting the setting up too high and the contents of your bowl were sent flying. Luckily there are enough ingredients left over to start again.
31-40 You burned the bottom of your dessert. Somehow. Some ... way ... you can eat around it, though!
40-50 You accidentally set your oven to the broil setting by mistake! Eek! The top looks golden brown, sure, but the inside is so underdone it's a little embarrassing ...
51-60 Your dessert came out perfectly!
61-70 The creative twist you decided to do didn't pan out ... so you try again with a different approach and it comes out beautifully!
71-80 You used a little too much sugar in your dessert, so it's a little bit too sweet ... but it's not inedible!
81-90 Meh. It's alright. Could be better.
91+ Absolutely amazing! You went above and beyond and really let your freak flag fly! Have you considered baking on a professional level?
Treat tried to make some Marshmellow treats he ended up burning the bottoms of them but luckily the tops still tasted good. He was pretty happy that they weren't a total disaster. His mind must not have been on his work, and he must have been thinking about Amber again since Treat loved making haunted hallows treats. He had made so many great treats. He fussed around for the rest of the class fussing with making other stuff. He made some little ghosts out of marshmallows and little candies stuck on and a little smiley face. Then he made little bats out of black licorice and chocolate.

Enju wasn't really sure what he was doing cooking, so he tried to make ginger snaps they didn't come out all that great and that was a little disappointing. Least he hadn't burnt the cookies maybe they were a little on the dry side when they should have turned out soft. Enju wanted to cry this shouldn't have been a big deal he had tried his best. He sighed and headed out of the baking class he would find something he was good at some time someday. Enju still needed to find something anything that he was good at. There had to be something.
Response: The timer went off and Nym quickly turned off the over, grabbing his mittens. Carefully, he pulled the cake out, setting it on the counter. It was going to come out perfectly. He just knew it. Grinning, he flipped it onto a towel… and found that it wouldn’t come out. Nym’s eyes narrowed. No… no. No! He had done everything perfectly! Grabbing a knife, he carefully carved around the edge to loosen it, shook the pan a bit.. and the cake finally plopped out.
Burnt on the bottom. Nym scowled, hand hitting the counter. He had forgottened to butter the bottom! He wanted to kick himself over that failure.
2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for rolling 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature 1 cup granulated sugar 1 large egg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Assorted candies, sprinkles, or colored sugars, for decorating (optional)
Directions
1. In large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. With an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. With mixer on low, gradually add flour mixture; beat until combined. Divide dough in half; flatten into disks. Wrap each in plastic; freeze until firm, at least 20 minutes, or place in a resealable plastic bag, and freeze up to 3 months (thaw in refrigerator overnight).
2. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line baking sheets with parchment. Remove one dough disk; let stand 5 to 10 minutes. Roll out 1/8 inch thick between two sheets of floured parchment, dusting dough with flour as needed. Cut shapes with cookie cutters. Using a spatula, transfer to prepared baking sheets. (If dough gets soft, chill 10 minutes.) Reroll scraps; cut shapes. Repeat with remaining dough.
3. Bake, rotating halfway through, until edges are golden, 10 to 18 minutes (depending on size). Cool completely on wire racks. To ice cookies, spread with the back of a spoon. Let the icing harden, about 20 minutes. Decorate as desired.
Fruit snack sugar cookies.
They were all Oz could think about when he was told he could mess with any recipe he wanted. Surely delicious strawberry gummies mixed with delicious buttery goodness would produce ultimate deliciousness? More importantly, Howard liked cookies of all shapes, sizes, and flavors. If he could make something the chimera enjoyed while also getting a decent grade for it, he'd be winning all around.
Oz got to work on the dough as soon as Laurel set them loose, and it wasn't long before it was cooling in the freezer and the baphomet was left with twenty minutes to kill. Half a minute later, his phone was out, concealed between bags of flour and sugar on the counter.

Oz smirked to himself as he rolled out the dough and garnished each cookie with an obscene number of crimson blobs. This had the potential to end in disaster, but it certainly was the most fun he'd had in this class all semester long.

March 2018
Username: Delicate Rose Bud Student Name: Marie Stage: Junior
Response: Thankfully for Marie, she and her mother baked all the time together back in the Swirling Sands. They tried new pastries and desserts all the time, but her favorite treat to make is macarons. It is difficult to get them just right, but Marie had practiced countless times, so when the assignment was given, it was almost second nature to create them. She usually stuck to more traditional flavors such as vanilla, chocolate, raspberry, and pistachio, but really wanted to step out of the box. In favor of the spring season coming around, she decided to make flower-inspired macarons. Her dainty rose and lavender confections couldn't have turned out better, and she was incredibly pleased with the end product.
Response: Score 56 (51-60 Your dessert came out perfectly!) recipe With his disaster with music he wanted to find something that he was good at. Arinas always talked about deserts and the litch hybrid was pretty good at them. Muninn wanted more things in common with his friend and so he figured trying out baking might be good.
He found a recipe that he switched the flaky sea salt on the top to white chocolate curls as his twist as normally it was just a bit too salty when his mother made it. Weirdly enough it actually came out really good. Way better than he was expecting. He didn’t think baking would be a new hobby or a big thing in his life but it was nice to have something work.
Response: 31-40 You burned the bottom of your dessert. Somehow. Some ... way ... you can eat around it, though! Reciepe Seraph was just having a really off day. First he fails out of music class and then when he had tried baking he had somehow managed to burn the bottom of his pops which was weird considering he didn’t use the stove or oven or anything that could burn them. Ah well it was passing and you could eat around the weird burnt part. Ugh he was just going to go home and curl up with some manga. On a happier note at least switching the nuts from pecans to cashews went well?
Out of all the elective that Kobe could have picked, he was pretty pleased with this class. Baking was always fun and not to mention, delicious! Besides, maybe he could give someone he liked baked goods to really show them how he felt! Using the internet, Kobe selected an interesting recipe... A chocolate chip cookie pie recipe! He loved pie and loved cookies, so surely a cookie pie would be delicious.
He gathered all his materials and measured everything out perfectly so it was ready when needed. He did his best to follow the recipe but some of it sounded like he would make it way too sweet. So instead of using sweetened chocolate, he used unsweetened, hoping it would fix the issue. Everything was looking good so far and the dough was perfect! So he slid in the baking sheet with the two pie tins on it and closed the oven door. After setting a timer, he began to clean up his station. It didn't take too long to clean up and he had almost finished cleaning all the dishes when the timer went off.
Kobe checked on the cookie pies, deeming them done as he pulled them out and turned off the oven. It was hard to let them cool but he did. He distracted himself with the rest of the dishes then moved to cut into his perfectly baked cookie pie. He finally took a bite and practically purred with how well it came out! This was totally an A! With a smile, Kobe sat back and enjoyed his dessert.
Jaret stared at his recipe. He was never really good at baking... or cooking for that matter. He ran his fingers through his hair before washing his hands. He then got all the ingredients out to start mixing everything together. He tried his best to follow his recipe but obviously didn't pay enough attention. He didn't understand that some ingredients needed to be added before others so he sorta just... threw all the ingredients into a bowl and mixed it all up.
Once it was finished, he looked at the goopy mess of a cheese cake. He sighed, looking through the recipe again. What had he done wrong? Jaret looked it over again and again until he finally realized his mistake... Order. There was more of a science to cooking than he thought... and man did he underestimate this whole baking thing. Maybe is would be wise to buy a cake for Favvy, rather than make one... especially if it looked like this...
61-70 The creative twist you decided to do didn't pan out ... so you try again with a different approach and it comes out beautifully!
Response:
Lilja was excited about being able to bake anything she wanted in class today. She planned on doing cinnamon twists as her baked goodie! She smiled brightly, putting her hair up before washing her hands. Next, she grabbed everything the recipe called for and measured everything out for efficiency purposes. She was in the zone, adding stuff together to make the dough. She tried to twirl them like in the pictures but it looked questionable... so she made little twisted mini hearts. After baking them in the oven, she carefully pulled them out. They looked like little cinnamon heart twists and they were beautiful!
With a smile, she finished the last touches then moved around the room to share them with everyone, hoping they would like it. Once she was finished passing them out, she worked on cleaning up what was left of the dishing and putting the rest of the ingredients away. She knew exactly what she was going to make Hunter when she got home! Not to mention, maybe Crispin would be mildly impressed by her obviously amazing baking skills! She was curious if she even had all the ingredients that she needed... Guess it was time to text Hunter a list!
Crispin loved making yummy things...food was one of his favorite things. After going over a variety of recipes, Crispin settled for making Oreo Cheesecake Truffles. While they were somewhat simple, if executed properly they would be a perfect gift. Crispin had wanted to find a way of making something nice for his twin, and Lilja along with his Pack! What better way to share your appreciation for another then making dessert for them? He quickly set about gathering ingredients as the recipe called for. Squinting at the directions, he wondered if he'd be able to make them or not.
There was only one way to find out.
Humming pleasantly, the energetic boy moved around the practice kitchen with a wide smile on his face. Moving from one task to the next, Crispin realized while not only delicious, it was surprisingly both fun and relaxing to fuss around in the kitchen. Normally he had the most fun out on the field..but this wasn't bad at all. By the time everything came together, and a few sample trials had..Crispin began to gather up several of the cooled truffles and slip them into little thin cloth pouches to distribute. They had all come out so nicely! He couldn't wait to see his friends and brothers faces!
Prompt: 21-30 - You had a mishap with the beaters, putting the setting up too high and the contents of your bowl were sent flying. Luckily there are enough ingredients left over to start again.
Response: Quentin was excited about cooking class. Working with baking would be fun, it was something he could make for not only his family but Aendre as well. The thought made the young baphomet smile shyly as he gathered up his ingredients. Finding a recipe to follow, he scanned over and began preparing the needed ingredients. When it came time to mix everything together, Quentin wasn't expecting the beaters to whirl to life so quickly. He had mistakenly turned it to the highest setting as he contemplated what to do next with the recipe. The contents went flying all over. Embarrassed he sheepishly cleaned up the mess, and thankfully was able to gather up more ingredients to start over. This time he made sure to start on a lower setting, gradually introducing the mixture together.
