Rep rubbed his temples. "I dunno. I told him to go do it. I don't know if he ******** took anyone with him. BUDDY system for ******** sake, when will they figure that s**t out?!"

He wanted to go out himself after them and murder every ******** last one of them for touching such a helpless little trainee ********. Rodney wouldn't hurt a fly, he probably wouldn't hurt a ******** horseman either. He couldn't go through, he knew, he had to stay here and make sure the systems stayed up and keep an eye on everyone else. It made him feel sick to be so tethered away from combat, but this was where they needed to get back home and it would be fine.

He sighed "I cannae go." and he knew Harrison would know why. "Can you go?" and it was obvious that even asking pained him a lot. Harrison was tough though, he was really tough and he'd be as good a person as any to send. "Take that slimeball Lawrence if you want, and Melvin. They seemed invested, maybe it'll help. Just watch your ******** back."

He moved to rummage in a box and hand over three headsets. "And take these, please. I don't..." he reached out and took Harrison's hand and squeezed it earnestly. "..just... don't get ******** hurt. Those War ******** almost killed me as a trainee, I won't let it happen to someone else."

"Ligaya" Jason repeated, and added as a way of being nice. "It sounds lovely." At least she didn't look offended when he replied, which hopefully meant he had been able to bluff his way through whatever it was she had said.

"N-nope, I'm good with it." Of course it was stinking hot and uncomfortable, but he would live through it. He kept his eyes open for any signs of danger, or any strange rustling which meant something was about to jump out at them (while also trying to figure out what 'nanman' meant.

Thankfully nothing did, and for all his nervousness he was quick to patrol the arena, finding nothing out of the ordinary. He then slowed his pace to catch up to Joy. "F-find anything?" He queried.

Peyton had shoved him playfully out of the bed when the call had come, but had left before he'd managed to slodge his sluggish, overgrown body out of the bed, into the shower, and into some clothes. Packing had taken less time than the shower, since he was wide-awake, and after shoving some food into his mouth, Andy made his way to the portal. He hadn't advanced much in half a year, but he'd been steadily improving his skills under Pey, Jordy, and Gale - so while still a trainee, Andy was pretty confident that he wouldn't die right out the gate. Plus, Rex wouldn't let him go - truly, the symbiotic relationship between a Boy and his Dog.

Plus, he had new friends, his beloved brother...and his not-quite-but-sort-of girlfriend. Peyton was amazing, and if she was still a bit 'gun-shy' to name what they shared, he understood. She'd had some really difficult things in her past and Andy respected her boundaries as much as an over-exuberant pup could (meaning, when he ran into them, he stopped - but sometimes he had to be told).

Upon arrival, Andy immediately began to sweat. Denim might have been a good protector for his legs, but the stonewashed material was thick and already stifling; as was his uniform jacket. Sure, he'd checked the info from Rep's text and prepared accordingly, but it was still murderous with the wet heat of the jungle weighing heavily on his body. Rex whined and surged forward at all the new smells and sights - the jungle was amazing to the undead canine and he certainly didn't mind the heat.

Looking around, he saw faces he knew - faces he didn't know so well, and he saw that there was a lot of hustle going on. Ought to get going, see what needs to be done. But first, he was gonna check in with Pey, let her know he'd arrived. Shifting his pack to be slightly more comfortable, the sun trainee hunter made his way to his sort-of-girlfriend.

Does Joy see anything? Wasn't that just the one million dollar question here. Part of her feels like it's just paranoia but another part of her feels worried because this is a jungle and there could be wild animals. In the end, she shook her head at Jason's question, "How about you?"

Nothing at eye-level, but she was a short trainee and so it was probably a good idea to look up at the canopy too. As she waited for Jason's response, she started scanning the trees.

"N-no, I d-don't see anything." For it being a jungle, there was a surprising lack of visible snakes, which Jason was thankful for. That didn't mean there wasn't any around, he was sure there were ones hidden, but even he didn't want to raise a alarm for a snake.

He'd just..keep away from it. Far, far away. And keep Joy away from it too of course.

As the shorter trainee looked skyward, so did he, half prepared for something to now fall on his head. When nothing did he sighed in relief.

"N-nothing up there..."

Distracting from the highest canopy, Joy and Jason heard a sound low in the trees ahead of them, a rustle of movement and a flash of feathers as someone leapt past, a prone white coated form slung over their shoulder. They paused for a heartbeat, furious eyes settling on the two other hunters, as if furious to be interrupted. “Deal with them Adia.” He says briskly to someone behind him with a turn of his head and leaps quickly away into the higher branches.

Obediently dropping down in front of the two hunters was a lean and muscular woman with brilliant dyed hair and wings at her hips, dressed in a jaguar skin and carrying a short blade. She turned on them, crouched low with a hiss of exhaled air before leaping into the attack.

As they left Joy and Jason behind, Rodney was carried off up into the treetops and into the horseman camp itself by Artax. Placed in one of the rooms constructed and reinforced in the high canopy, chains were prepared to shackle him to the wall.

“Give it water if it needs it.” Artax growled. “No one is to kill it. Hurt it but not kill it, we need it, for now. Strip it of all possessions, they use objects to draw their weapons as far as we are aware” And with that, he returned to his duties and left Rodney to the mercy of the others, confident his orders would be obeyed. The hunters would come to them, they would compromise themselves.

Left with the horsemen on guard, Rodney was stripped of his clothes and possessions and dressed only in a very simple tattered loincloth (provided not for his benefit but for the benefit of the horsemen who protested against having to look at a disgusting human too closely) His possessions were all confiscated and taken elsewhere.

This done, he was provided as an entertaining oddity for any other horsemen interested in having a look at him or to try and exact some information from him however they saw fit. All would be watched carefully by the guards to adhere to Artax' commands.

Lawrence, oblivious to the issues unfolding in the camp, had gotten on with organising the medical tent's inventory and when he was done, headed out to check up on Melvin who he'd seen arrive.

He found the other man without too much trouble thanks to his distinctive hair colour and waved him over. "Didn't think you'd actually come." he said. "Not to a boring old mission like this. I guess you can use your runic mastery skills a little when we find treasure." and he couldn't help the way his eyes lit up at the idea of treasure.

[IMAGE COMING WHEN IM HOME FROM WORK, IT IS A MAYAN IDOL. IMAGINATION.]

Close to the ruins, there was a grating of stone and a room opened up, dark, dusty and ominous. Inside a small idol glowed brightly.

Quote:
Match the number rolled in this post by rolling 1d10 and you can claim the idol. Its worth 10 base HP to the faction that grabs it. (doubled for horsemen under the current status)

Melody arrived through the portal not too long after the others. She curiously explored her surroundings which were a lot more... Simple... Than she had expected.

She passed a tent just in time to hear the word "treasure". She froze in her tracks and leaned over curiously. The voice was very familiar and she lingered in hopes of juicy details. When none were forthcoming, she decided to be more direct.

She entered the tent with a broad smile on her face, "what's this I hear about treasure?"

Tracking a horsemen was a terrible idea, wandering through the camp she had only gotten a rough idea of where the Horsemen where when she arrived. She’d gotten her gear and barely a sense of orientation before the leader Artax and another women Horsemen left the camp. She took the chance and followed after them trailing far behind.

It was a shame, wings where cheating, she couldn’t possibly keep up once they took to the trees and instead was left to wander on foot in the direction she last saw them heading. She never even noticed Artax setting a trap and stealing another Hunter away, for her it had been a slow slog through the jungle on floor wrapped in the black cloak looted from Mark way back before the students had once attacked the Island with the aid of Horsemen. How the tables had turned as she wandered farther from the Horsemen camp.

Finally breaking out of the brush she saw it, two figures in familiar white coats and a Horsemen looming before them. “Well, I’m probably dead either way,”

Sprinting from the bush she got a leg up form a rock leaping behind the Horsemen before bashing the bone buckler on her left arm against their back before she retaliated knocking Sammy aside with a solid blow leaving her in the dirt beside the hunters.

“You all might want to call more friends,” the zombie ghoul grunted as she stood up eyes burning with frustration, beside the hunters facing towards Adia, “And quickly.”

When Rodney finally stirred back into consciousness, the first thing he knew was that he wasn't dead. His chest ached too much for that. There was a different ache, a sick, separated one. And his clothes... his clothes...!

He tried to stand, but met resistance. They'd tied him up. They hadn't killed him. Why hadn't they just killed him?

Without the long sleeves, high collars, thick fabric, Rodney had surprisingly strong arms and shoulders. His hands were rough, his skin and hair both pale. Religious tattoos covered his left and right forearms in full color (an angel on the right, a devil on the left), and the Last Supper was depicted in loving detail across his chest (which was also in good shape). He had a lot of light, old scars, but none over the tattoos.

"Hello?" he asked weakly.

Keep it together,
Seven responded, but their voice was uncharacteristically faint.

Rodney reached out for Seven mentally, wanting him closer, but...

I can't, Seven said, The assholes jumped us. Just uh, give me little while to smooth things over, they'll regret it.

Xala had heard about this fun little party in an exotic location and decided what they needed most was catering.

Also, she was on the lookout for some really great ingredients.

She hadn't had much luck so far, but she thought that a temple might be stocked with something tempting. Mostly it was dust. Dust and spiders.

Harrison was skeptical. He rubbed the back of his neck. "I guess. I dunno if the guy's worth splitting up the group over. I know you're supposed to be looking after him, but..."

Melvin glanced to see Lawr waving him over, and setting down a hammer for others to use, he got up and headed over. "Well, off island is still off island." While he thought Lawr was off island for a similar reason, though Melvin did fail to mention he was also here to watch over Lawr, he seemed to have another motive. "Treasure? Lawr, I - "

And that's when Melody popped up, seeming just as interested in the silly idea.

Taking off his glasses to rub his face down with a handkerchief, he shook his head. "This is a mission. I don't get what lead you to believe there is any unfound treasure."

TO which he glanced back at Lawr. "I only came here for the one I already found." To which he smiled. "Don't tell me you want to go wandering into the jungle alone."
