It took Shun a moment to figure out what Chel was talking about here. He vaguely recalled what she was referring to. It had been early in the morning when he was jostled awake by one thing or another. As he played that over in his head, he just furrowed his brow a bit.
"You do not need to worry about it. I should be fine otherwise."

"Mm. I liked how relaxed y'looked. It'd be nice f'you could be like that more. Not sayin' t'change or nothin' just- looked peaceful."
She played with the straw in her cup before taking a sip from it. "M'gonna worry 'bout it even f'you tell me not to." She'd explained as much to him before.

Shun shifted in place a bit. He knew what had happened, though he wasn't entirely certain how to feel about it. It felt kind of... risky in a way.
"Relaxing... yes. But I probably should not be getting so relaxed all too often."
There was still a lot that could happen, and he didn't really think his apartment was even all that safe in the end. It was not as if he had magical wards or anything like that to safeguard the place. He wasn't even sure if stuff like that could be done in regular ashdown, or if it could be done at all in the first place.
Second answer was probably a 'yes'. It was just a matter of what it took. If someone had enough will to bypass the wards, they probably could as well.

Chel moved her head from side to side in debate. "S'hard t'feel relaxed with all the s**t goin' on yeah ... but should you- 'as a different question. I think y'should feel safe in yer own home f'you can."
She moved her straw up and down with a free hand. "Ros- Kaji'll be a good guard rat. Don't worry, she's got you." Chel gave a small smirk at the mental imagery.

Shun leaned back in his seat, keeping his arms crossed over his chest.
"It is not really home. I just happen to live there," he grumbled under his breath, "Also. Kaji is a ******** rat. She cannot be a very good guard for anything."

Chel let out a fake gasp. "Don't say that 'bout our precious Kaji. She's doin' her ********' damndest."
She shrugged. "S'New York still home t'you then?"

"What stuff you miss most?" she asked, curious about all of it. Shun never talked about his past; as much as she knew his mannerisms and preferences she knew next to nothing about his history.

Shun just grunted lowly, falling silent otherwise for awhile.
"Less and more bullshit all at the same time," he answered. It was a vague answer, but it seemed to work well enough for how he felt about it.

"Why don't you take a roadtrip up there fer a weekend?" she offered. "S'not that far an' you could prolly do it in a day or two."
She gave him a half smile. "You'd have t'take me with you though. I never been outside of Massachusetts."

The detective shook his head at that.
"No. Too much s**t to take care of here," he stated firmly. Taking a weekend out of Ashdown for something like that didn't really seem like it was worth it.
"If you really wanted to go, nothing really stopping you. Pretty sure there is a Megabus you could take."

"Mm. Yeah." Chel was oddly short with her response; she didn't want to admit that some part of leaving Ashdown scared her.
"You got anybody up there that misses you? Y'could at least go t'visit them."

Shun scoffed at that.
"Yeah right. There is no one for me back there," he muttered, shaking his head to himself. There were those who he was on fairly good terms with, yes. But it still wasn't really worth going out of his way to see them.

"No secret fiancee hm? Then I guess I still got a chance," Chel said with a snort. She leaned back on her chair with an arm over the side, growing more relaxed as they talked.
Thankfully that line of conversation was cut off as the waiter arrived with their plates of various ingredients and foods. He gave a short explanation of how to use the grill and how not to kill yourself on it, and then bid them a good day.

Shun gave her a sort of odd look for that comment. But their food arrived righ then and there. After looking around at the various platters and whatnot, he went ahead and started to toss some meats onto the grill. He seared the beef briefly before taking it back. The seafood bits he left on for longer, since that needed to actually be properly cooked.
Since it was now time to eat, he just fell silent to try and focus on his meal.
