In truth she had simply walked a little slower than usual so that the maid could catch up quickly. Once in her room she scooped up her little white fluff ball and held him close. "Aldon and mother were so angry, but they made some very valid points. If the fact of me being with child got out it could cause a riot within the city and end up very dangerous for not just myself but the family as well. I know that with time they'll come around, they just need some time to let the news sink in and adjust. After all I must have given them quite the shock." She murmured to her little companion as well as to her darling friend, mostly trying to think out loud. "I think they still believe I'm just a child and have yet to finish growing up, which in a sense is probably true. The thing is though, I'm terrified about this whole thing too. I'm not married to Roland, I've never been a mother, and I'm the princess of a kingdom filled with tradition. I haven't got a clue how to raise a child, let alone what to expect while he or she is growing within my belly. Yes I was hoping that everyone would be supportive in this, but that was not the case. I just hope now that everyone calms down and the situation brings us all closer together as a family, instead of tearing us apart."

"That is a very mature of you to say." The head maid begins to say as she stays in place standing by the door. "I'm proud to hear you can see why your family is upset and that you're giving them the space to come to terms with the child growing inside of you. I also hoped that they would have been more enthusiastic about the news but what is done is done and we all can only move forward from here. I'm sure your brother Aldon and your mother are surely speaking on how to do just that, right now in Aldon's room." She then sighs, however, and walks to the princess to look at her with concerned eyes. "One thing I do want to say to you Athena is that you shouldn't call your child a mistake. The words everyone used in the dinning hall were strong, but don't let them make you forget that this child is a gift. I Don't want you feeling to depressed..."

Athena replied with a small smile, though it didn't stay long. Granted as she listened to her dear friend speak, she couldn't help biting her lip and nuzzling into her darling dog a little more. "I do hope that with some space they will come to terms with this, though I fear the conclusion they will come to in the end." She murmured with a soft sigh before putting Snowy down on the floor again. "This child is a mistake though, and one that I should have been more vigilant in preventing. That being said though, I am going to be giving Roland a child and hopefully marrying him as well. Certain steps just need to be taken in order for it to happen first, and then all should be well again." She cooed before breathing a sigh and looking at her friend once more. "I will try to keep my spirits up though, but the words of both mother and Aldon stung greatly and I fear Kaiden will not easily forgive either of them for standing against this situation...." She added, sniffling a little to regain control over her threatening tears. "Sarah, will you brew some more tea and just sit with me for a while? I feel that being alone right now would be unwise."

While Sarah did agree that her princess didn't follow the path of a proper lady she personally didn't see the major problem. Maybe it was because she felt that Roland would want to be with Athena so she didn't see the reason of getting upset. Maybe it was because she herself had sex before marriage and so she didn't want to call herself out on her own mistake. As her princess looked her in the eyes she could read the pain there in. It wasn't well hidden nor could it be mistaken but to help her friend put on a brave face the head maid would stay by her princess's side. "I'll have one of the other maids run down and fetch us some tea." Then, she kindly hugged her princess and told her, "I promise not to leave your side my princess." After letting go of Athena, Sarah peaks her head out the front door to see one of the other castle maids walking by. Sarah calls to her and luckily the maid she called out to was one of the girls who heard what happened in the dinning hall. Saraha asks that the maid make the morning tea as Sarah has written down in the cook book and also ask for a tea for herself. Before the other maid leaves Sarah reminds her of what the queen said; That anything mentioned about Athena's condition will be meet with severe consequences. It was when Sarah popped back in did she speak to her princess and sat on Athena's bed with a simple question. "Do you remember when you sneaked away from one of your lessons with your mother so that we could play in the garden?" She smiles softly at the memory. "My mother caught us rather quickly, and gave us a good talking about girls not playing with bows before taking us to your mother."

"I could handle a few minutes alone, but thank you for not leaving." She murmured as she returned the hug and then watched as Sarah asked another to fetch the tea. Once her dear friend was back in the room and sitting on her bed she couldn't help playing with Snowy a little. Hearing the question though, she laughed and nodded. "Yes I remember all too well. We were in a great deal of trouble for not being proper ladies. Granted after you were taken away by your mother, I ended up scolded even more for sneaking away from my lessons as well as being improper." She replied with a giggle before suddenly frowning and sighing heavily. "And now here I am in trouble for being completely improper and allowing my virtue to be taken by a rogue, only to end up with child and unmarried." She murmured.

"I guess old habits die hard. Eh, Athena?" Sarah tried hiding her smile behind one of her small hands but her grin was too tickled by Athena's naughty habits. "I wonder if Roland was also a little trouble maker when he was a child." The head maid openly thinks aloud to change the subject matter a little and get Athena's mind moving differently. Hopefully. "Have you two swapped stories of the past? I wonder if the Queen of Bellris has some stories to share." Sarah teases. "Oh, that's right! Since they've changed their form of government Hysteria isn't a queen anymore, is she?"

"As if you are one to talk. I'm sure you've managed to seduce my brother at least once already, correct?" She teased, not knowing that there was truth to her words. Of course she smiled a little more at the idea of Roland being a troublemaker, but she shook her head. "Perhaps he was, but I've not heard any stories about his childhood. Granted we tended not to talk about such things while together. In truth I think we only spoke of our childhood once in passing, though we were also hiding our station from one another at the time." She murmured before biting her lip and giving a slight nod. "Yes that is case. Upon becoming a republic the queen would loose her title and become a councilwoman. Of course she would still be royal by blood, but her power would be cut in half I think."

"A-as if I did! Your brother seduced me! With his sweet words and tender eyes..." She found her heart beating faster when she spoke of Kaiden to Athena and there she knows her truly dose love him. She sort of always has since she was little but now it was completely obvious to her that she'd lay Dow her life for him if she had to. That makes the fact he's always on patrol so much more difficult to bare nowadays. Sarah was to keep conversation going with the princess which made it easier for her to not have her own mind stay on troubling thoughts. "That must be an unpleasant feeling for Lady Hysteria, to lose absolute power just like that. Now that she shares power with others I hope she knows about teamwork. That can be an issue for many royals, as history has shown us." Snowy gives a sudden bark but was rather restrained about it. It wasn't like the little fellow was hurt but more like a bark to bring attention to something. Not bringing attention to it for now Sarah continues speaking. "I can't help but wonder how it is you came to fall in love with Roland, Athena. I mean, it sounds as though you both didn't share much about each other's personal life. I guess you could say that I'm curious as to what it is that draws you to him. What made you fall in love with a man you hardly know my princess?" And then a maid comes knocking at the door, teas ready on a tray and Snowy barking again to let the girls know company has arrived.

"You mean to say that you and Kaiden?" She asked in disbelief, never having thought her own brother would go against traditions. Granted it made her feel a little better about her own mistake. As she listens to Sarah she couldn't help giving a shrug. "I would think she already knew about the shift in power before choosing to make Bellris a republic, though as you said it must have been unpleasant for her to loose her title." She said agreeing with her friend a little before hushing Snowy as he gave a bark. Naturally she smiled warmly as the question of her falling love with Roland came up. "Well we have talked of ourselves a little, just not our childhoods. We've mostly spoken of out beliefs and how our countries looked. It was almost as if we were just a simple boy and girl happily telling another about their love of their home. I think the fates had a hand in our story though. After all I had travelled to Lionis as a peasant a year ago thinking that I would never see the rogue that had shown himself during our time with the Princess Rose, rest her soul where ever she is. Next thing I knew we had run into one another again, and then he woke us in the stables. After that we simply couldn't remain apart long, and even began writing letters to one another after the flood that had happened before the all out war." She replied in a soft tone with a warm smile still on her face. "Of course the flood was our first night together and fate deemed it too soon for conception. Perhaps they weren't certain of Roland's safe return or our love for each other." She added before biting her lip as Snowy barked once again, hearing the knock this time. "Enter!"

She excuses herself and was about to leave when Snowy began whining, giving a sad look to Sarah. "Oh, I forgot about Snowy. I'm sorry to bother you but could you make breakfast for the princess's dog?" The maid agreed and off she went to fetch the food for Snowy; An apology from Sarah to Snowy shortly after with loving petting behind the ear. While pouring the tea from the teapot to the cup Sarah sighed and explained. "I believe the reason Kaiden is more on your side than the others is because he understands the feeling of what happened between you and Roland. I...also understand the amazing feeling of giving into ones love...and that's a reason I stood up for you." Blush. A girl's admittance of a woman's desire was an embarrassing thing. The talk of Hysteria was interesting, but not as much as the girl talk over romance. Sarah hands Athena her cup before taking her own, different flavored, tea and taking a seat beside her lady. "I can kind of understand how you came to love him. Hearing it sounds like its something from a book, where fate continues to push two noble hearts into each others arms only to test their love through threat of war..." Sarah the slightly recalls her father for a moment and is swept away with Athena's story and her own mother's tale of love. "It sounds romantic to have a whirlwind of love sweep you off your feet but such men are something to worry about. Men like Roland, like your brother, like my own father... They have a tendency to brave the dangers of the world more than others. Do you think he's trustworthy and mature enough to settle down willingly?"

Hearing her dear friend finally answer her question, she couldn't help blushing deeply. "I never would have thought Kaiden would go against traditions like that. I mean I'm happy you both are so in love, but I hadn't once thought... " She murmured a little shocked, though clearly happy. At the mention of her story being romantic she giggled and nodded. "Yes I suppose in a way it is romantic, though maybe a little odd. I mean think about it, a prince from another kingdom falling in love with a silly princess like me." She said with a smirk. When Sarah questioned Roalnd's character though she sighed. "Well he did write me back after I wrote him to tell him of the situation. In it he said that he wanted me by his side as his wife so that we could raise our child together. In fact one of the things we had both agreed upon before the war, was that we wanted nothing more than to grow old together, watching our children and grandchild thrive in lands." She cooed.

 xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Elentiya Drosselmeyer Elentiya stood outside the princesses door, her frail body shaking slightly as she looked at the handle, she was scared to knock or even try opening the door, but she wanted to talk to Athena about Aldon, she wanted to talk to her about what she had overheard. She took a deep breath, shaking her loose blonde hair. No! She needed to suck it up! She was going to be queen soon and if she didn't learn how to be more assertive along with her kindness she would only end up as a pushover...and if she ended up in Queen Valeska's situation, as a dowager queen, how would she ever be respected. Taking a deep breath Elentiya raised her hand and knocked on the door to signal that she was coming in before she twisted the handle and opened the door a crack "Princess Athena?" she asked, her voice timid "Is it okay if I can talk to you?" she asked. $1000ec

"U-um of course your highness. I hope you don't mind if Sarah remains in the room with us, she and I have been friends since childhood and are enjoying a cup of tea together. You're welcome to join of course." She murmured while getting up and moving towards the door. "What is it you wish to speak about?" She asked starting to feel her nerves flare, wondering if she would end up scolded by the soon to be queen of her kingdom. Not to mention the simple fact that Elentiya was the Emperor's daughter and could easily spill the beans about her situation if she knew about it any way. With all the 'what if's' in the air at the moment she wasn't wanting to get her hopes up too high, only to have them dashed yet again.

KING Aldon" Elentiya quickly corrected herself "I'm supposed to be married to him soon and I'm not sure what to think...as you are his sister I was hoping to gain some insight into who he is...?" the sentence trailed off as a question "Is he a nice person?" she whispered softly, her shoulders trembling slightly as she asked the question. "When away from ear shot of the people, it's alright to just call him Aldon." She murmured while following Elentiya back over to the table and taking her seat again. "Aldon is a wonderful person, he just takes a little getting used to at times. The easiest way to tell what he's feeling is to usually look in his eyes. He tends to hide his feelings most of the time." She said babbling a little. "To give an example of just how nice he is; Aldon refused to hear anything about Kaiden or myself marrying either your brother or sister. He said that he'd be the only one to marry into the Emperors family and that he would choose the daughter he felt would rule by his side with fairness and kindness. You were that choice." She said hoping to put things into a little perspective for the princess. Naturally she poured a cup of tea for her soon to be sister-in-law before sipping on her own.
