Juniper Wilcox (Unmasked) | 25/25 | Taking care of her Misfit boysThe masked Alois's departure had been impressive. Juniper was still very new to the whole magic thing and being able to will things to happen. It certainly wasn't something that was second nature for her to do, or see for that matter. "Good going!" She grinned at Hux, but his exhaustion was very pronounced as he let himself slide to the floor in a heap. It was odd to see a man so large appear so small. Despite his apparent exhaustion he was obviously not above throwing out compliments that caused a red flush to spread across the blonde's face. Well, a redder flush than the alcohol had created. She wasn't quite sure how to take the compliment since she'd never been very good at accepting them. "Uh. thanks." She said bashfully. "Really, I hope no one 'gets the axe'." She commented. glancing back to Alois. "But at least you're safe now. And I didn't think you were throwing yourself a pity party, so don't worry about that. It just looked like this world had been shitting on you to far too much and you needed a break. I hope the mask helps you though." She glanced over at Rabbit, who had made himself comfortable in the chair. Guess it's back tot he floor if I want to relax. She didn't mind much though. With the bottle in her hand half way empty she was certainly feeling good. Plus, the poor guy looked like he could use a comfy seat. Somehow it looked like Juniper had found herself a group of sad misfits. "Look, I don't really care about politics in this place. If things work out, they'll work out. I doubt that people are going to just stand by and just let someone get killed. I know a few of them here and how strongly they feel about people getting hurt because of magic and this world. I have faith things will work out. Hopefully the burning man, who I did have the...eh...pleasure of meeting, doesn't find himself on the bad end of something though. Really, I just would like to see everyone leave here in one piece." She shrugged and picked out a spot on the floor not to far from Hux, to make herself comfortable as she took another swig of her bottle. "This stuff is pretty good. A lot quicker than the wine." She grinned. "Hey, pop a squat somewhere. Get comfy." She remarked to Alois.

spidery alois || 25/25 || time to find some ice The newly-masked man bent and extended his wrist slowly to test the damage. Movements still caused a wince. He really needed to get to some ice before his skin cooked down into the meat. What was that, full thickness burn? He didn’t want any of it. Temperance would know that without trouble, and afterward lecture him for being irresponsible somehow. „Is Adoelle inhuman? I heard tell about zem looking for someone wis’ human ancestry, but Ezra will not allow a human to die. Zat leaves someone formerly human. Not zat I’m complaining if it’s Adoelle…“ Alois finished, and cast his gaze out the window to the fog-swamped beneath. Iridescence danced on the low-lying clouds and added an atmospheric brilliance to the scene.
Hearing Rabbit finally speak up from the depths of the couch coaxed a crooked smile out of Alois. „No, I don’t sink he’s dead. Out, but not dead.“ He knew not what Rabbit apologized for, but it wasn’t his business. Blackmail, he found, mattered very little to Ezra overall.
Temper slipped somewhat with Juniper’s next words. His fist tightened at his side, nails biting for purchase against anything before them. „You say zat, but it took getting my hand broken to spur zem into action. And what came of zat? I didn’t see ze end of it, but since no one’s running about screaming zat we haf’ to leaf’, I imagine Melany is still alif’e and well. Maybe you don’t realize it, or you’re not paying enough attention, but everyone here is still playing by zeir rules on zeir field. Do you really sink that leaves any of your people at an advantage? Nevermind.“ Alois dismissed the question immediately. „You’ll sink how you want.“
Again he rotated his wrist. Again he looked to Jun, who looked content to simply lounge in the spire. „I should find some ice. Maybe later. As you heard, I haf’ a few chores to do.“ With a sigh, he started toward the stairs.

Juniper Wilcox (Maskless) | 25/25 | Talking to Hux and RabbitEyes widened at Alois's outburst. It really shouldn't have been unexpected. Everyone had a limit they could handle before tempers flared or feelings were damaged, but Juniper hadn't been expecting it. Not at what she had said anyway. After all, she had no clue what had transpired downstairs. Didn't realize that the cigarette burn was much worse than it had appeared. Jun was, very much, naive about the world she was in and just dealing with things as they came. Maybe that made her idiotic to some, but it was working out for her so far. "Wait, Alois!" She called, trying to scramble back to her feet but her gown made it impossible to do quickly. Before she was even up, the man was gone and Juniper let herself flop back down onto the black tiled floor. "I didn't mean to piss him off." She remarked glancing over at Hux and Rabbit. "I had no idea that anything more had happened and that, somehow, some of the others were involved. I mean...I figured something had happened but...oh nevermind, I am not even making sense to myself right now." She sighed, and ran a hand through her hair. "At least he's safe now. I just hoped he manages not to get into anymore trouble." "I mean. I guess I can understand what he's saying. By being here we are all playing some stupid game." She took another swig of her drink before continuing. "But, I'd like to pretend I am at least making it a bit more difficult for whoever is pulling the strings." Though, deep down, Juniper felt that maybe she was just making things more difficult on herself. "What do you two think? Am I wrong to have given Alois my mask and put my faith in other people? I really just wanted to help."

Hux in a Dress - 25/25 - gettin' contemplative up in hurrHux sighed to himself. He watched Alois leave with mild interest, but said nothing to stop him. If he felt he was better off downstairs, than so be it. He glanced at Juniper as she spoke, then allowed his gaze to travel over to Rabbit; interested in reading his response to whatever she had to say. It was futile, however. He had buried himself quite thoroughly within the chair. "I think..." he murmured, finally, after giving himself a moment of contemplation once Juniper had finished saying what she felt needed to be said. "I think we've been here for a long, long time. A time long enough for us to not even be sure- really- how long we've been gone for. Rabbit, Alois, and I... maybe others, m'not sure." He rubbed his face wearily. His eyes felt like sandpaper and he wanted nothing more than to close them and rest, but he knew that'd be a fool's errand. There was no rest. Not here. "We were taken, against our will, and thrust into... this... without much say. Forced to do the bidding of whomever declared themselves our masters... and I think we're tired... and it's easier for some of us to just play their game, rather than fight it... and m'not so sure us doing anything will actually change the outcome of tonight, because what I've seen so far is that... well, They're always in control. Even when you think They're not." He pulled his knees to his chest and rested his forehead on top of them, eyes closed. "And m'not playin' they're game... but m'too tired to fight it... so maybe the others downstairs will find some sort of way out... or maybe they won't. It's all up to fate, I guess."

Chain-Smoking Rabbit Vaughn: 25/25, worrying "He pisses himself off," Rabbit finally replied. "I wouldn't worry about it. You were... nice." He had no mind for strategy, for wondering which play was the best one to make, and while he would never voice it around anyone but September, he had enjoyed a lot of his time here until tonight. He'd never had the kind of structure Father had given him, and when it was just them, just Bennett following orders to try and make Alois look bad, there were moments when it had been fun.
But none of that mattered now. Now his double had returned and there were people everywhere, so many angry people. And even though he had his very own mask, there was still a chance he was going to die.
A spike of fear slowly drove him to his feet, and he crossed shakily to where the other two sat. He could no longer be still now that the conversation had turned this way, but he didn't want to leave either, not when they were all crowded downstairs like roaches. "Can I have some of that?" he asked, pointing at Hux's bottle.

Juniper Wilcox | 25/25 | Trying to stay lightheartedJuniper sighed. "That really sucks and I hope you guys are able to get out of this mess. I can only imagine what this place can do to you if you're forced her against your will." She chugged down the last of the drink in her bottle and leaned back against the bookcase at her back. Rabbit's interjection made her smile softly though. "Thanks. I hope he can feel better about himself soon." Glancing over at the bottles, Juniper half crawled, half reached to them to grab herself another one before settling herself back against her chosen resting spot. By this point the alcohol was doing a good job of making the world seem fuzzy and she wanted to enjoy it. "Damn. We went down a dark path in conversation, didn't we. Sorry guys." She chuckled dryly. "How about we try to pick things up again." She pondered things for a moment, trying to come up with a topic. "Right. Well I don't know what else to talk about at the moment. Why not a game of some sort? Anyone have anything?"

alois scholz (masked) || 25/25 || being a douche “This way,“ he called to the others upon crowning the stairs. Tired though he was, he felt accomplishment creeping into his bones, his bloodstream. Already he considered the confrontation won by he and those he chose to associate with. „They’ve holed themselfs up in here, but it is no matter. There’s no other outlets from the ebony spire. A perfect place for their last stand, I suppose.“ He laughed, and pressed his second mask to lips thoughtfully. „I expect they’ll put up quite a fight.“
Encountering Alois on the stairs was something of a surprise, as was his willingness to hand over his mask when asked. He anticipated the struggles met when Alois was first taken, and yet he complied nicely. Would the others serve the same? He doubted it.
„And Huxtable, I would like a word with your lesser half before you get started. You don’t mind, do you? If it’s a bother…“
But they reached the zenith. There was no further time for him to chat amongst his recruits. „Ah, yes,“ he began while clasping hands together. „I believe there’s a few unspoken words between us. Perhaps these matters are better directed with a heavy hand?“ In closing, he held before him the constellation mask that Juniper bequeathed to Alois. Through its second set of eye holes he spotted the blonde. „I will only give you one pass, dear guest. Take your mask. It belongs not on the servants.“

Juniper Wilcox (Maskless)| 25/25 | Pissed and not budgingJuniper had just managed to get her new bottle open and taken a first swig when Alois re-entered. For a moment she thought it had been the Alois that had just left of his own accord, but it turned out to be the one that Hux had unceremoniously pushed out of the room. Now, this wouldn't have bothered her too much as she expected the three of them were able to take care of Alois but it seemed there were others tagging along. And this Alois had something that had not been given to him. "You b*****d. How dare you." She fumed as she stumbled to her feet, gown and alcohol making the process a bit tricky. "The only servants I see here are you, running off to do the bidding of those you consider your masters. And seeing as I didn't give that mask to you I would say you're slightly confused. The man I gave that to deserved it. I will gladly take it back so that I can return it to it's proper, new owner." She stormed over to him with purpose and reached out to snatch the mask back, all the while giving him as dirty of a look as she could. "You're all acting like a bunch of school yard bullies." She snapped.

Hux in a Suit - 25/25 - arriving on da scene with his beautiful arm candyHux moved up the stairs gracefully, his arm locked with Rabbit's as they glided towards the top in near perfect unison. He chuckled at Alois' eagerness, very obviously amused by the turn of events. "Do as you please, brother." He murmured simply, just before the door was opened. He cast a bemused glance in the Rabbit that was meant to be maskless' direction as Alois made his grand entrance, an odd smile curving Hux's features into something a bit more... hungry. Then he focused his attention onto his other half, looking slumped and defeated at the wall opposite of them. "It seems you've slighted the wrong Alois, you poor sap." He murmured, voice as smooth and velvety as the chair that stood tall at the center of the room. With that said, he leveled his gaze at Rabbit's twin, a frown suddenly tugging his grin downwards. "And you, Bennett Vaughan... such wasted potential. It really is a pity." His arm snaked around his Rabbit's waist and he pulled him closer, turning his head so that he could press a kiss to the smaller man's temple but never allowing his gaze to leave the real Rabbit's. His voice was a sultry murmur against the other Rabbit's skin. " This Rabbit is much more deserving of the life you so desperately cling to, don't you think?" He ignored the room's third and final inhabitant, considering her to be nothing more than a mere nuisance. He had no idea why she thought she could speak to them in such a way, but he was sure Alois would be quick to deal with it. Hux in a Dress - 25/25 - standing next to Juniper, hoping she'll think for herself and vamooseAt first, the true Hux didn't bother to move from his position against the shelves. He was too exhausted to fight, and he knew that. Knew where this would lead, should things turn violent. He ignored his counterparts words, much to the other Hux's mild amusement, and shifted his gaze to look at Juniper. Her back was to him, barely clothed chest puffed out in defiance. She was certainly a woman to be remembered, if nothing else. He lifted his large frame from the cold marble and closed the distance between him and her, gently resting his square-shaped palm on her delicate shoulder and pressing the pads of his fingers into her skin just so. A warning, and a farewell... should she actually listen. Which he knew from just the past couple hours that she wasn't the type to take anyone's advice but her own... though he still felt the need to try, because she didn't have to be here. She wasn't the one that required punishment. "You should leave, Juniper... take your mask to the other Alois, group with the rest downstairs... find a way out of this ordeal." He murmured to her before regarding Alois with a cold stare. "She's got nothing to do with this, does she? Let her by." He was in no position to give orders, but he did so anyway.

Chain-Smoking Rabbit Vaughn: 25/25, shitting himself The bottle was almost to his lips when he heard Alois's double on the stairs and his heart took a manic leap into his throat. Of course he would come back. Sitting around here had been idiotic in hindsight, but Rabbit's mind had been on other things. Those things returned to the forefront of his thoughts when he saw his other self glide into the tower—spine straighter, teeth whiter, skin smoother than his had ever been. Thankfully, he was nowhere near as distracted as Melany's creature had left him, though he did take a long blink when that other Hux kissed his double's temple, just so he wouldn't have to see it. His disgust grew as long as he concentrated on that emotion, his anger sharpening the longer they stood there. Rabbit remained silent, only expressing his disdain for their presence in a lull between taunts. He threw his bottle past Juniper and Hux, smiling very faintly as it shattered at the creatures' feet. That had been a mistake, but it had felt really, really good.
"It's my life, not the life, so no. I don't."Green and Gold Rabbit Vaughn: 25/25, playing along and copping exactly six feels Rabbit was firmly of the mind that everything would work out, that he was the superior being and that in the end, he would receive the life that was meant for him. He appreciated what those who served Melany provided every so often, but much like mayonnaise, too much of it was ******** disgusting. Lingering amongst the humans while perched on the lap of his evening's entertainment had been a much more worthwhile activity than whatever this would turn out to be.
"Give me your mask, and this will all end," he lied, slipping his arm around Hux's waist. "Be brave, for once in your life."

alois scholz (masked) || 25/25 || holding his weave “Enough posturing.“ He released the mask easily, his touch feather-light on the encrusted marvel he held, and she claimed what was hers in the beginning. The girl prattled, but he gave her claims little heed. Most guests from the banal culture of Ashdown mewled pitifully about human rights and equality and other inane garbage that he cared little for. They were in his reality now, where Alois was little more than property to him, and the pair only meant as much as Ezra valued them. Did she consider what her words would earn? He wondered in their brief gap of silence.
„Rabbit,“ he started, his attention quick to catch on the man who tried to pretend the scene was not amiss. „Do as he says. Surrender your mask now or I will ask Melany myself to consider Alois a tithe. That goes for everyone in this room who doesn’t wear a mask.“ It may go against Father’s wishes, but he will understand. He often does.
With the mask now slipped from his grasp, Alois strode slowly toward the giant in the room. Heeled boots struck the floor in derision. He paused near the bookshelf, where Hux melted to his right, and feigned interest in one of the many tomes before him. A hand slipped down, clawed fingers reaching, and seized the elaborate orchestra of hair on Hux’s head in an iron grip. He wrenched the man forward with the brunt of his strength to wholesale move the man’s body away from the wall. He maintained a tight grip in the thick locks while his gaze fell to Thorne, the maked Hux, and his arm candy. „I’m afraid he isn’t compelled. Listen,“ he commanded as he himself bristled, and the murmurs of thoughts or feelings or memories became known to him then. He looked toward the ceiling. „There’s ample ammunition above us. All you need to do is reach. This one will break. They always do.“
Lastly, he focused his attention on Thorne. „Alexander. What say you about the girl? She aided the one who wronged your mistress. Should she, then, shoulder the debt that Alois must pay? Or shall we leave her as a guest? I long for your opinion.“

Thorne (Masked) | | 25/25 | | Smad (TM)
Thorne had retreated to the Plum Parlor following his encounter with Chris, only to be found again by the masked Alois. His eyes had only flicked to him in an echo of interest and hunger, and he'd followed soundlessly, every part of him powerful and lupine. He played the part he always had seamlessly. Apart from the scant words he bled for Alois, he was in every single way the same.
But inside he was rotting.
The blonds dare hung around his throat like a noose or a promise. Something far worse.
Mother, mother, he thought cruelly, Look, I've fallen from grace.
Chris had unmade him. He was now nothing. A terrible and impossible thing. So he followed Alois wordlessly, because he was a dog on a chain and so what if another hand tugged while Melany played with her food? The Spire was not anything strange or uninhabitable and it remained as boring and anticlimactic as when he had left it last time to travel to the Ivory Hall.
Two beasts now stood in there. Two rabbits. A girl with stars sparkling on her dress. A snake. Him.
He crushed in through the brittle tension of the room last, sliding the door shut behind him. Not slamming. There was too much anger in him and he didn't intend to announce it to the world until there was a place to release it. His mask felt heavy, heavy, heavy.
Dare, he'd said. Chris's words rang out through his head. A bullet into a closed chamber. He was leaned against one of the rooms many walls, staring out into the black abyssal night. A dog barely at attention. Oh, but Alois would have it if he pleased.
His head turned slowly as he was addressed, and he let himself fall back into the familiar violence lurking just beneath the surface of this exchange. He cocked his head to one side, the soft lullaby sound of his mask echoing, echoing. The murmurs around him whispered. The giants looked infuriatingly at home.
"Oh, but she is a guest and that is poor manners, Alois," he said softly, a blade held between his teeth and on his tongue, "If my mistress decides her fate should have my hands on it, I will wait on that order myself. But until then, let her run. Let her hide. They are only scared little mice. What could she do in the end?"
He pushed away from the wall. He was more graceful than ever in moments before the kill. He stepped on a bottle and the ugly noise of it shattering sliced through the room.
"I'm bored, Beast," he said to the Hux that he had disturbed earlier, the broken one that had sobbed himself to pieces in his lonely little chair, "Will you roar at me again?"

Hux in a Dress - 25/25 - 'bout to take a beating prob poor baby, maskless Hux remained silent as he is forced to his knees by Alois' superior strength. He dutifully ignored the claws his hair, mouth set in a grim line and dark irises empty of any emotion except perhaps a bit of anger, simmering at the edges. When he is taunted by the otherbeings, he offers nothing more than a defiant stare at his counterpart and the rest. When a bottle is shattered, the pieces skid across the floor. They cut into Hux's dress and slice against his knees but, again, he makes no sound. The majority of his hair had fallen from the up-do Adoelle so carefully magicked into place before the start of the night's events and Alois' grip remained strong in his thick mane. He doesn't say anything to Thorne or to Alois or even to his double. Instead, he just waits. Hux in a Suit - 25/25 - amused, masked, ready for the fun to begin Hux, masked and tucked comfortably into a tailor-made suit looked especially put together in the face of his disheveled twin. He smirked at the bits of blood that had begun to stain the dress-wearing Hux's knees. "Does it hurt, brother?" He asked with a grim smile. He offered his Rabbit one last kiss- a quick grab of his chin and press of their lips- before he disconnected himself from the other and crossed the liquor-drenched floor. The dark brown liquid, somehow, moved around his feet so that his shoes wouldn't ruin. "Though you and I both know physical pain is nothing in comparison to the sort of pain that blossoms at the back of your mind, whenever you're reminded of what you let slip from your grasp." He grinned, wickedly. "Your memories aren't just floating in the spire," he said, then gave his own temple a quick tap. "They're here, too." He moved to touch the edge of Hux's jaw and dragged his nail across the hard edge of bone. They glared at each other, then the masked Hux drew his hand back and swept it across the maskless Hux's cheek with a sharp crack. "You're pathetic." He stated, with a frown as he flexed the fingers of the offending hand. "Gretta drowned herself to get away from you." He laughed. "All the signs were there and you ignored them. You ignored her even when she begged you for help. And now..." Hux looked smug. "Well, I suppose I should take it easy on you... since you're in mourning... shall I show you, the memory of when your nieces and nephew found out about your sister? Oh, how they cried. They looked exactly as you are now, broken... empty... pitiful." Hux grinned from beneath his mask, finding joy in the way the original Hux gaped at him while struggling to put the words in the right place within his head. "And do you know what I told them? I told them it was their fault she died. Oh, you should have seen the hate in Keighley's eyes when her siblings heard that come from your- or rather, my, mouth. I don't think she'll ever be able to forgive you." "M-Margaery?" Hux croaked, eyes wet and blood dribbling from the split in his lip. The other Hux laughed. "Oh, don't be so naiive Huxtable. You knew she wouldn't make it. Don't pretend you didn't." He gripped the broken Hux's chin between his thumb and forefinger, forced the man to meet his wild, hungry gaze. "Maybe, though, she'd have made it... if you'd been there for her, like she'd always been there for you. Instead, though, you spent your time getting drunk- bringing whomever you wished home and putting them to bed only to kick them out the next morning. Oh, her final days were so stressful! She saw you dissolve into alcoholism, just like your father. And on her deathbed? She still cried for you, even after all the hardship I'd put her through. But you didn't come. Not until she was pale, just as pale as Gretta, and gone." The masked Hux cackled, and the other broke. He transformed into a hysterical mass of raw emotion. He shoved towards the masked Hux but was kept at bay by the hand still twisted in his hair. He howled and growled and he broke over and over again, barely human in his sorrow... in his rage.

Juniper Wilcox | 25/25 | Trying to free Hux from AloisJuniper glared daggers at Alois as he relinquished the mask and walked right past her as if she didn't deserve his regard. "You know nothing about me to go and say I am posturing." She ground out through clenched teeth. Hux's obvious worry for her safety was endearing, but Juniper wasn't the sort to run off and save her own skin to let others deal with a mess. No, when she felt strongly about something, she stood her ground, and right now, she was damn certain that these people, these copies were being complete and utter assholes. "I appreciate your worry, but I am not going to just run off on you and Rabbit and leave you alone with this assholes." As Rabbit stood up for himself and tossed a bottle, Juniper smiled at the man. "Good for you, Rabbit. Don't let them bully you. That mask is yours to keep." Alois was then making his advances on poor Hux. “HEY! Leave him alone!” She yelled almost missing ALois’s comment about the murmurs up above. She had seen them, knew they were there, but had no real interest in touching them since she knew what they could do to someone who did. She had no idea the importance they held to Hux though. "Why don't you stop treating them like they aren't even living, feeling beings! Jesus, you'd think they are nothing more than cattle with the way you talk about them. Besides, you’re the copies. You’re the ones that shouldn’t even exist, am I right?” Thorne’s appearance to the ‘party’ cause Juniper to pause and give him a look. Yep. He was the one who had been up here when she first came in. The one who had been dumped from the chair unceremoniously. His response to the masked Alois about her made her wonder how much she could get away with with this guest title she had. By this point though, the Hux copy joined into the horrible scene and some things became a bit clearer about the murmurs. Those were far from her priority as her nails dug into the palms of her hand with her clenched fists. This was all so wrong. So. WRONG. Why were they allowed to do this? Why was nothing be done? What the hell had happened here to make someone just allow others to walk all over them?! Not to mention, for others to think they could?! Nope. Nope. Nope. Seeing Hux break was the final straw for Juniper. In a flurry of anger and bitterness, she charged over to Alois and pulled back a fist to set it sailing at the man’s face.
