'Oh good I'm glad I'm at the mercy of a coin toss' She responded with a deep sigh, taking a look over at Alice as she glared daggers at the cat. She had choices to make but why her?
She was told what they could do: kill the jabberwock, take the sword, and kill the red queen. But obviously the cat had something else in mind but what?
Nnnngh. She put her hand against her chin. Closed her eyes as she thought long and hard on what she could do. The problem was she had no idea why she was being told to do the things she was being told to do. All she had to do was get a Mask to escape. Ah!
'What use would be rules if you don't follow them?' She spoke back, wondering if she could, 'Not to mention its a little hard for me to do anything when I can't exactly communicate'

Alice rolled her eyes. "The rules were that you follow the rules of the Red Queen or she kills you. Which is still true. The rules haven't changed, cat. Quit confusing her!"
Ree laughed. "The rules are always changing, Alice. But you know that. That's why you still haven't gotten out. You're not allowed."
Alice gave a louder frustrated noise and moved forward to make a choice.
"No!" he hissed at Alice. "Syth must make this choice."
"Wh-what?! Why?! We could simply walk down either path, why does it matter?!" she practically yelled, getting frustrated.
Ree looked at Syth. "The rules are ever changing, but you are the author to your own story. You choose whether to follow the rules or to make your own. I am curious to know which you would choose. Unless you choose neither, the red queen would likely make a good hat out of you...." he laughed. "Tick tock, horned girl. The red queen is gaining on you..." the frown on the blank mask curved upward into a grin once more. "Tick tock tick tock tick tock TICK TOCK"
Alice looked between them and looked a little uncertain for once. The cat obviously wouldn't let her choose, and was waiting on Syth, and with the Red Queen so close, who knew what would happen. "...just pick one...it really doesn't matter..." she spoke quickly, still giving glaring glances at the cat that simply watched them.
"Actions speak louder than words, dear child." Ree warned and tilted his head a little.

'It'd be easier if I wasn't entirely useless' She responded back to the cat. Mentally groaning as she took a glance at Alice. Just pick one? Why did it not matter. Obviously they knew who had the mask. The red queen was the target and she was on her way. She would follow what she needed to do.
'Lets get that sword Alice. Then maybe you could wear that useless cat as a hat' She added with a sly smirk. Making her way away from the cat following the path towards the White Queen. Oh sure there was a dragon but there had to be a way past that right? She wasn't just being sent on her way into becoming a snack.
No, that'd be silly of course she isn't.

Alice sighed with relief when Syth just chose a path and began to walk. The red one. Not what she expected but all in all, they were moving, and that's all that mattered.
Ree purred softly. "Very interesting... making your own rules, I see.... Very interesting indeed. Tell the White Queen I say helloooo~" he cooed and vanished.
Alice rolled her eyes, thankful they didn't have to deal with the cat anymore. "That cat is so annoying... I can't wait to get out and never have to deal with his confusing metaphors and him stealing my things..." she mumbled begrudgingly. A white castle was becoming clear in the distance as they approached. "That's it, that's where the white queen is." she smiled, feeling a little hopeful for it all as she quickened her pace a little in excitement. Glancing back, she tried to find a not-so-awkward way of bringing it up again. ".....have we... met before?" she asked, leading back into what she had said something about seeing her again. "...or is it the person I remind you of..." there was a faint frown, honestly hoping that maybe she knew something of the past she had forgotten.

'I will' She spoke back out of habit as things began to kick off. A deeply long sigh escaping her as the cat vanished into thin air. Welp, they were alone again, and she was dead set on trying to get the sword from the White Queen.
Though, she nodded along with Alice's response. Yes, he was more annoying in here than he was out there but at least he didn't deal in confusing metaphors. Moving along as a white castle came into the distance, her eyes scanning over the horizon trying to see if there was some sort of large dragon anywhere around. If it was anywhere she'd want to avoid him as much as possible.
Yet, Alice's line of questioning caught her by surprise as she froze. Her face slowly turning to look at Alice as she paused in her thoughts. Gears spinning rapidly to come up with a response. 'Uhm, we. We kinda have?' She started off, biting her lip as she continued on 'I mean I've known you or at least someone who looks exactly like you for the last ten years. We uhm... got married, had some kids, and ended up separated because she followed her mother on some venture. Last I heard she died though I was able to speak to her on the outside.'
Her eyes turned to stare at the ground, 'I mean. I know you're not her. She was an adult on the outside' she tried to assure the doppleganger she wasn't about to fall head over heels for her just because she looked the part. She wasn't desperate.

Alice watched her carefully, a glimmer of hope in her eyes. Although, the information was quite startling to say the least. "..married...and kids?..." she then frowned. "...she died... I.... I see..." the glimmer of hope fading. "Is it possible...I am a spirit.... Or do you think I really am not the person you speak of.... I don't remember any of all that.... so... I don't know..." she sighed. She nodded in understanding and acceptance to the fact she likely wasn't the person that Syth knew. "I see... an adult. I don't... even know if I'm an adult or not.... I have been here so long."
As they got closer to the castle, it all seemed quiet. And no dragon in sigh it would seem. "Maybe its our lucky day and the dragon is out to lunch...." fiye Please roll a D20 in your response.

'I don't really know. The spirit I talked to still remembered.' She replied as she inched closer, eyes scanning back and forth to check whether or not it was safe to go on. 'For all I know there could be a version of me here just waiting to be discovered. For now though we should try getting back to the other side.' And with that she took a few steps. It was quiet enough and the road before her was empty. She sprinted forward, moving as fast as she could to try to cover any distance before something could show up and reveal itself while subjecting her to a most terrible fate.

Alice nodded in understanding. There was a soft chuckle. "....Not that I've ever seen, and I've met pretty much everyone in Wonderland. Never met anyone that looks anything like you." she gave a soft reassuring smile.
The moment they entered the castle, it was clear it was barren, almost like an empty chapel or church. At the alter, a woman in an all white dress and blonde hair with purple wings was chained to the wall, her mouth was taped over. Right in front of her was a light silver dragon with blue eyes that perked up as the doors open. A loud roar as it got up defensively and appeared to immediately gun for Alice, trying to smack them away with it's tail.
The girl chained to the wall woke up and the fear in her eyes was deep as she tried to call out but the tape across her mouth would not allow it. She was already crying. Her own blue eyes so familiar to Syth, she'd definitely met her before, the sweet and kind Sonnet from her upbringing. She was pleading with her eyes but her words were lost beneath restraint as she struggled to get free to no avail.
Alice pushed Syth out of the way of the lashing tail and backed up as the tail landed with a violent thud between them. Eyes darting, she saw a sword stuck down into rubble near Sonnet. "There. Get the sword! We can kill the dragon with it!" It appeared to be a normal sword, but a weapon was a weapon especially when pitted up against such a monstrous beast.
The dragon roared again and charged at Alice.

Well, at she was felt reassured that she was unique beyond the horn on her forehead. Exhaling deeply as they pressed within the castle, finding it to be completely barren. Its inhabitants were entirely gone and the decor was as plain as could possibly be.
Her vision was soon met by a woman up at an altar. Her mouth was taped over and she was chained against the wall but her appearance was familiar. Trying to remember faces from a decade ago seemed to be the reoccurring theme and in all honestly, she couldn't recall her name. Still, she was protected by a large dragon she could only assume to be the Jabberwock, and luckily for her it was charging straight at them.
Though it turned out she was a little slow, either that or dopple-Alice cared more about the stranger from another world more so than herself. Now on the ground, she forced to kick herself back up with any momentum she could muster. Pushing her body up towards the chained girl just as Alice called out the sword. Excitement struck her body as she sprinted forward, reaching out to grab it.
Once her hands laid on the hilt and she drew it up, she found herself cursing the normalcy of the blade. If this was the sword she was told to look for it definitely wasn't made out of destiny. Still a weapon was a weapon, and she intended to make use of it. Moving towards Sonnet with the blade in tow, she brought the sword against the chains. Attempting to break the latest doppleganger free and hopefully have someone that could help deal with the dragon rather than act as bait.

"Wh-what are you doing?! There's kind of a dragon attacking us!" she shouted in panic as the dragon grabbed Alice in its claws. "A-ahh!" she cried out as she struggled in its grasp. The dragon roared and opened its large maws, ready to rip the poor girl in two.
Sonnet was pleading louder, muffled by the tape as one chain broke upon impact, freeing one hand but her other was still chained. She reached up to pull the tape off. "Th-the other chain! Please!!" she cried out, hoping Syth would completely free her.

'If this works we can just run aw-' And before she could get the second chain undone Alice was already in trouble. Cursing up a storm inside her head as she launched herself at the dragon. Being unable to completely free Sonnet or even speak to her she hoped the girl would just keep a low profile as she worked to distract the dragon.
The large, terrifying, silver dragon that was poised to rip Alice. Swinging the broad end of the sword against the Dragon's scales, intending to grab its attention long for Alice to try something else. Scanning the Dragon's body, trying to check to see if there were already any existing wounds on the Dragon she could try to exploit.

"W-wait!" Sonnet called out, reaching out for Syth but was not close enough to stop her, only able to watch her run off to stop the dragon.
The sword smacked against the scales and that's all it took for the dragon to whip its head away from the attention of Alice, a large hiss as it turned to Syth but didn't let go of Alice. She was struggling against the silver dragon, trying to get it to let go of her, punching it, she yelped softly. "Is this thing made of actual silver, what the hell?!" Looking to Syth, she clenched her teeth. "Stab it in the chest!"

'Oh you want me to get underneath it!?' She cried out in response to Alice's stratagem. Her feet slowly walking backwards as cogs inside of her head began to turn, Sonnet's voice echoing in her head.
Why would she tell her to wait!? This dragon was about to eat Alice and here she was telling her to wait. Then again she had been here chained and bound. If the dragon was hell bent on eating Alice then she wouldn't be alive. What if...
What if the dragon was only protecting her?
'How about you try distracting it for another minute' She commanded as she ran off yet again. Her sword raised as she slashed down on the remaining chain holding Sonnet down. Hoping that Alice would have the kind of senses required to not end up torn in half.

Alice gave a frustrated and surprised huff. "Wh-what?" she watched Syth run off again. "Oh sure, I'll just delight myself to being a distracting tasteful snack!" she exclaimed with exasperation then started trying to punch the dragon to very little avail as it directed its attention back on Alice with a roar.
Sonnet looked to Syth as she came back. "...break the other chain! Quick!" she insisted, already pulling at it in her own desperate attempt to break it herself."Please hurry!"

'I promise it will only be a moment!' She responded back to Alice as she began to strike repeatedly at the chain. Using the edge to hit the chain repeatedly until finally the metal gave in with a loud snap. Hoping that she hadn't ruined the sword in her attempt as she looked at Sonnet.
'Okay she's free. Can you yell at her to do something or run away?' She asked as she began making her way back towards the Jabberwock. Could they escape without this thing following them? Surely that would be a lot easier rather than trying to strike its underbelly and risk getting torn to ribbons.
