Agnes walked into the library and was taken aback from the raucous. She looked at her watch frantically. I though this started in 2 hours! Then she noticed her watch had stopped working. Blast, I'm dreadfully late. She bustled over to where her club, the Expedition Club, was located. She hurriedly set up some posters, flyers, and an email sheet. In a manner of minutes students were flocking to her stall, berating her with questions and comments. This is a school I could get used too, she thought. Her eyes scanned the crowd, and liked what they saw: a wide diversity of young women pursuing education.
"This club will be about getting down and dirty into nature! Hopefully we can go on several hiking trips, and maybe a winter overnight trip. Please place your name on the email interest list if you would like to receive updates from me. Agnes pushed her hair back from her face and leaned forward on the table, showing slight cleavage. She had been talking to students nonstop since she set up. They really seemed to like the nature club idea.

evangelineXXX ►student || reserved and sweet  "Hi, Jade," Evie said. "I'm Evangeline, but you can call me Evie." she looked around and surveyed the clubs available. "I'm not in anything yet, but that might change soon... I don't know." She blinked again, then cursed herself. quit with the eye thing. you're going to make them pop out.
"Sorry if you don't like to talk about this, but I really like your hair. It looks great on you. I really envy those people who can rock colors!" Evie said with a quiet giggle. She took a breath and tried to calm her frayed nerves. So far, everyone had been nice, so there really wasn't any reason to worry.

On behalf of the faculty and staff, we welcome you in making a positive contribution in benefiting students on their academic journey. If you choose to stay on campus for Orientation and/or the academic school year, you have an optional, complementary housing location at Sacred Lily Dorm, Room 1-C. Below is information pertaining to the remaining Orientation schedule: Week 3 (07/31 - 08/07) ► Meet and Greet - Lotus's very own library will be hosting a Meet and Greet, where you can meet famous authors right within our walls! There will be beverages and light snacks provided, an open reading of poetry and short stories with autographs offered afterwards. In addition, the Book Club will be running a Food Drive, so bring in cans using your left-over meal plan money! All proceeds go towards the Food Drive, and is not for profit. Additionally, the Activity Fair will be continuing down the hall! Feel free to stop by and check in with your desired clubs and organizations. Week 4 (08/02 - 08/09) ► Bonfire - You heard right; located just south of campus will be a bonfire sponsored by Lotus Academy Woodworks in the Terrarium South Field. Food and drink will be provided, alcoholic beverages will be BYOB; please keep in mind that drinking will be supervised, and no minors may partake in alcoholic beverages. Talk with your peers and partake in Truth or Dare... if you dare! Arrive early to watch marching band practice some Homecoming classics! Week 5 (08/10 - 08/17) ► Lotus Bloom Festival - Grab your dress clothes, kimonos, Halloween costumes or whatever else you'd like to wear and enjoy the numerous activities offered at the Annual Lotus Bloom Festival! We have buffets from local catering restaurants, including some desserts made by our very own students! Learn how to make dumplings, let off a lantern in the night, watch fireworks, ride a farris wheel... it's all here! More information to come. Students are encouraged to volunteer for this event if desired. Before the Fall 2016 semester begins, we ask all faculty and staff be made available for Orientation, ongoing now. You may use this time period not only to supervise the activities, but also to register your classes through our online resource, Lotus Academia Board. Please read over all documents enclosed when registering, including the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Website Navigation Manual located on the front page. "Evie," Jade trailed off. "I like it! It suits you."
The compliment of her hair did not really come as a surprise; people tended to love or hate it. What surprised her the most was that a girl that appeared so humble enjoyed it. Clearly she had a lot to learn about her, and she shouldn't be so quick to judge her character. "Brunette is a color too," she joked.
Jade turned around to look at the booths behind her. She had lost sight of Jax, but assumed that she got caught up in the excitement of the Activity Fair. "Well, I'm a part of the Book Club, but..." Jade caught sight of a professor she hadn't seen before help set up a booth not far from them. She squinted to see the board the professor propped up on the table. "Expedition Club," she read aloud, then turned to Evie with a shrug. "Never heard of it. You wanna check it out?"

Blythe had only glanced over the schedule briefly when he had received it in the mail, choosing to travel to the school before taking any further actions. Already resigned to the fate of accepting a public school position, the young teaching graduate was quite surprised to receive his acceptance letter in the mail. He didn't recall the interview going so well, especially when he had so much difficulty getting his mic and camera to work properly.
He hastily unpacked his bags, shoving clothes into drawers and hanging coats in the provided closets of the Sacred Lily Dorm, reminiscing about his first few years at uni. He reminded himself that he wasn't back at his alma mater but at a private all-girl's academy where he would soon be teaching the finer points of English literature. He dug through his messenger bag to retrieve the orientation schedule, ruffling his hair as he figured out where he was expected. "Lotus Bloom Festival..." He donned a less travel-rumpled blazer before making his way toward the library.
Maneuvering past young girls in halloween costumes and kimonos and keeping his flabbergasted stares as short as humanly possible, he made it through to the library where the various booths were set up and waiting. He couldn't quite recall if he was heading the Creative Writing Club or the Book Club, but the Book Club display was positioned quite close to the entrance, so he deposited his bag and pretended to know what he was doing. He called to a passing gaggle of girls, "Would you be interested in joining the Book Club this year? We have quite a line-up of books to read that you won't want to miss." Did that sound desperate? He leaned back against the table, the cardboard posters wobbling but luckily remaining in place. He eyed the booth beside his; the Expedition Club, the poster read. He waved to the older woman, then felt like an idiot for it, so turned to his posters to evaluate last year's reading list. "Nothing published in the last 50 years. What a snore fest."

Dr. Agnes WallaceXXXX ┗━━━━━━━━━┛XX ►Professor / Assertive yet gentle ► A lull in the crowd allowed for Agnes to look around. She locked eyes with another professor located near the Book Club. Well isn't he devilishly handsome? He'll be breaking hearts, for sure. Reminds me of my days at college. The other girls were always pining after some new young academic. She sigh, heavily, nostalgia heavy on her breath. Suddenly, he waved, and then obviously felt awkward and went about straightening his stall. Agnes chuckled, he'll get the hang of this soon. After a moments consideration, she approached the young man and extended a worn hand.
"Hello, I'm Dr. Agnes Wallace, science professor. I'm new to this school, but not the area. I could show you some local places if you're interested." Agnes oozed confidence with her old age, and gripped his hand tightly. Ever since college she had no interest in men, but this one faintly reminded her of her brother.
Agnes glanced over her shoulder at her booth. Two girls were approaching. "Sorry for the quick chat, but I must attend to my booth. Excuse me. " As Agnes swayed back to her stall, she seamlessly adjusted her shirt and hair, placing it all back to it's windswept yet manicured place.
"Hi there ladies! Would you like to join the Expedition Club? Based on the amount of people we get, we can do larger events and projects." Agnes nodded while speaking, swishing her hair all around. She eyed the girl's blue hair, but admired it. This girl will be interesting, but this other one. Timid, she could benefit from some outdoor learning.
"My name is Dr. Wallace, what are your names and years?"

TIME SKIP EFFECTIVE NOW
AUGUST 20 - SEPTEMBER 30;;► Lotus Bloom Festival - Grab your dress clothes, kimonos, Halloween costumes or whatever else you'd like to wear and enjoy the numerous activities offered at the Annual Lotus Bloom Festival! There is a bonfire in the central area where you can make s'mores and other tasty treats. We have buffets from local catering restaurants, including some desserts made by our very own students! Learn how to make dumplings, let off a lantern in the night, watch fireworks, ride a farris wheel... it's all here!
More information to come. Students are encouraged to volunteer for this event if desired.

Jade was excited for the Lotus Bloom Festival to kick off. Although she wanted to keep her gruff persona so that the other students see her as weak prey, she couldn't help but get dressed up for the occasion. She remembered seeing something in the Academy email regarding letting go of lanterns in the night, and she couldn't wait. Jade slipped on her favorite black leather jacket, shielding a wrinkle-free white blouse and her only pair of skinny jeans without rips or tears. She had to wear her lucky black combat boots, and slipped them on with ease.
To her surprise, Jax was nowhere in sight. She hadn't been in the dorm all day, but Jade figured she would have returned by now. She's probably just at the library, Jade convinced herself. I'll probably see her at the festival.
Jade slipped a side bag over her shoulders and ran out of the door, nearly forgetting to lock it behind her. The events were about to start, and she didn't want to miss a minute of it! The food, the sites, the rides, everything; she couldn't wait.
