Zaku took a deep breath, releasing some tension as Tri then spoke. His voice was almost a comfort from his own memories, just desperately clinging to something that wasn't his own voice and his own pain for what he had explained.

"Then why are you so focused on the governments instead to hurting Haven itself? "

What a priceless question. The big reason why they even wake up in the morning to fight the good fight. Why the government and not Haven? He swallowed hard and steadied his breath. "We tried that in the beginning. We would take down a Haven facility... And we would only find more and more. It was unbelievable how quickly they were able to build back up elsewhere and continue like nothing had stopped them in the first place. It took us longer than it should of for us to figure out they were secretly being largely funded by governments and politicians. That was when we shifted our attacks to key politicians. Anyone who had connections to Haven." he finally looked to Tri, finding his composure once more. He was stern but simply couldn't hide the pain in his eyes. "Some of those governments are just as guilty for allowing and even helping Haven to experiment on and systematically kill us. They honestly don't even have to hide it, we don't have the rights to stop Haven from continuing to do what they want to us." he watched Tri's face carefully for his reaction. His cold expression reminding him all too much of a certain demonic meta. No, Tri was different. Despite the similarities, their differences were also just as astonishing. Zaku kept a calm but strong expression about him, swinging the knife in his hand a bit.

Tri nodded slightly without a look of surprise, none of it was new to him other than the Renegades original attack target and the speed in which haven appeared to regenerate. Appeared because he doubt the original experiments would be so easily replicated elsewhere with different subjects or that they would have been able to save all their data from one moment to the next. Even finding subjects should be a problem since not all metas were that obvious, unless they didn't care who they grabbed.

A flicker of memory, a Haven representative in a meeting with some of the Norcrest brass, spotting him and asking to trade metas so he could experiment on him for his eyes and the ethereal feathers on his head. Mara's polite excuse and changing of the subject before blowing up in anger later that night. Yet they knew the thin line they walked but Melody and the others didn't. This was even more reason to return before they were transferred. There was no way he could get back into SIU's good graces short of bringing back Zaku...and it was tempting but in the long run pointless without Mara and even with Mara.. with everything that has happened he didn't think she would be in control if it did survived.

Now, Haven's funding that was something different. They likely picked those governments that didn't care or were more in line with their way of thinking. If they were smart or sneaky enough, there would be measures in place so that no matter who was in charge Haven would continue getting that funding.Fighting those that were dictatorships would be harder, but then those that were counsel... hm

"So this is you against Haven. To get to Haven you are against the leaders and government that support them. But which one are you currently fighting the politicians or the government?" he said quietly a flicker of curiosity as he watched the muse compose himself enough to continue. Zaku was strong even as he carried that air of sadness around him, it was very different than the person he knew. That one would have gotten angry the first time and left or worse froze him in place then left.

"You do understand that by killing off politician who have ties to Haven you are barely slowing them down if at all? Instead you are making it imperative that programs like Haven continue to be funded to defend against the rising threat of metas." he said quietly leaning against the side of the window as hte watched the knife swing then looked back up. Another difference, the other one would not have reacted like this after he tried to kill him.

Zaku read his expression so carefully, an intense stare on his face. The growing silence with the lack of emotion for the situation was starting to make him draw conclusions. Bad conclusions. Part of him was desperately begging for Tri to show even a flicker of emotion, something, anything to dispel his growing concern that he might secretly be from Haven.

He began to speak, and Zaku listened, waiting with bated breath for what input he had this time. Questions for more understanding on what he was doing. That was a good sign... he thought. "I might be a little overzealous to say both... I'm fighting it all, maybe a little too blindly." he reasoned, the answer was an earnest one. He forced a slight smile snorted lightly at himself. He was just as hardheaded as he was when he was a teen, wasn't he? '...I feel like I'm still disappointing you..'

He looked down to the knife and then closed his eyes, his smile only growing but not by much. "You know.. I feel like if our alliances had been different, we could have made an effective team... done something truly great..." he sighed, opening his eyes, looking away in thought. After a few moments, he sighed heavily once more and shifted on the bed. He tossed the knife down onto the mattress and came to a stand, sweeping back his open shirt to put his hands in his pocket. Tilting his head in a bit of intrigue laced within his stern but determined look, he spoke calmly, "So what would you suggest... I'm all ears." he genuinely asked. With such a question, surely Tri had some answer for it, some other option to back up why he'd even comment on it. Zaku was curious to know what that would be, still trying to exhaust any means he could to find a way before choosing more violence and, ultimately, war.

Something changed. Tri touched the wall behind him with his wings but stayed the same, watching Zaku's gaze boarder on I might attack/pounce in their intensity. It was something he learned to watch out for from Ree then realized the same gaze could be seen in some animals as well. What brought this on he wasn't sure, and it wasn't under Zaku tried to smile that he relaxed a bit himself as well.

"Alliance" he repeated a bit blandly. "I think you might need to recheck the definition of that one. I think both sides need to know they are in one first" he said reaching up to touch his own cheek absently but still making a point. Alliance? is that what he thought? if so everything started to make a bit more sense now.

"So what would you suggest... I'm all ears."

Only to drop it completely in the next moment as surprise and disbelief broke through the none caring facade he had on. Leaving him to widen his eyes a bit and stare at the muse in shock. Was he actually asking for suggestions?...from him?!

He looked searchingly at the blue gaze, trying to understand only to be left with the feeling he should start expecting Zaku just to be unpredictable. Against his better judgment he closed his eyes and shook his head, opening them to look at Zaku as if he was still there. "Fine.." he said quietly, regaining some of his composure again as he focused on the question and what he had mentioned before.

"If what you say is true, then Haven's funding is likely pulled through the acceptance of different measures likely enacted years ago. Which is why killing politicians hasn't done anything other than to stop new measures from being added. " he looked intently at Zaku. "As well as making them fear you. That is -not- what you want." he lifted his head slightly. " If I were in your shoes I would be more focused on attacking haven facilities. A few here or there and saving those that can be saved. Using those who are willing to paint a picture of what Haven actually is. Just a killing ground for those that are mentally perturb hidden under the name of science. " a flicker of disgust "If there were no measures enacted, than to bring all of that to light. Show how those politicians who has ties to Haven benefit personally from it." a flicker of darkness. "Show the human the metas that are barely indistinguishable from them and even the Magicians among them. To the non-humans those metas that imitate the near extinct pure-races and the most common ones. Pull back your voice... let their voices be heard instead" he motioned slightly to the cracked but living crystal now easily seen on Zaku's chest .

"If I were you I would inspire the humans, gain their pity and their support to go against their own governments, instead of trying to unite them against you" he lowered his hand a slight frown on his face as his eyes grew a brighter silver. Mara or Ree would have been better in this position. They would have known how to manipulate this to a better degree he was just ...blunt.

Zaku shifted his eyes a bit as he nitpicked his use of the word alliance. He had picked up the wrong meaning behind his words but it wasn't much of a problem since Tri didn't seem upset by it, only seeming to correct him. That was fine.

He watched as Tri's expression flooded through. Surprise on his face as Zaku had left the floor open to him, his own expression still standing ground on his face. He agreed to saying his mind, and Zaku smirked invitingly. It wasn't until Tri started in and Zaku really listened to what he felt they should be doing, Zaku's expression dropped into one of concern and contemplation before looking at Tri in almost complete disbelief, his own shock painted on his face. The more Tri talked, the more a faint smile started in on Zaku's face, slowly it faded into a wide excited grin. Even though Tri was frowning, Zaku was grinning from ear to ear as he tensed in an almost playful enthusiasm. "That's brilliant!" he exclaimed, moving immediately toward Tri. "That's amazing, I could... kiss your magnificent face!!" he reached up as though he was actually about to do just that in all they excitement in his mind, but retracted his hands quickly before making it close enough to touch him. Zaku bit his lip, still grinning then turned on his heel quickly and moved to his nightstand, pulling open a journal and a pen, beginning to write down what he said. "I know... I shouldn't be so happy about such a grim topic.. but your words.. your idea is a really good one.." as he finished jotting down a few notes, he looked up to Tri with a genuine and almost awkward smile. "...thank you..."

The frown slowly faded as Tri blinked and tilted his head very slightly, dumbfounded. They hadn't thought of this before? Was Zaku so alone even if he was surrounded/

Confusion and no small amount of embarrassment cross his face as he watched Zaku moved to him with a genuine happy grin on his face. He attempted to take a step back only to realize he had trapped himself against the wall and only phaseing would help, which was his original getaway plan if Zaku called for backup.

Taking a soft breath he felt his heart speed up but held his ground ready to phase back if needed. Eyes narrowed and wings lifting in warning as Zaku got closer but the muse already seem to realize his error.

The thought to reform his weapon didn't even cross his mind until Zaku had turned away and even then it was just an after thought as he lowered his wings again, observing as the muse pulled out a notebook and started jotting down things.

"I ...." he shook his head, not even sure why his words had made him so happy, he was expecting to be shot down, not be told it was possible. Did this make hm a traitor?

It took him a few seconds to actually think about that...but no? If Zaku followed that course of action there would be less people in the cross fire.. more discussions and words hopefully. It would not be something fast ..it might take one or two human generations before things changed. "It won't be fast" he muttered as if realizing he should at least try to explain that to him. "They are to afraid...might take a generation or two or a miracle" he let out a sigh, trying to regain the composure he had moments before Zaku's excitement pulled him out of it.

"I need to leave" feeling the need again to warn him encase...he had a question? darn it why didn't Zaku just fit a pattern, why was he warning him? . His eyes narrowed again waiting tensing encase he had to fight again, it wasn't dinner but that didn't seem to be a good idea any more.

Zaku smiled at Tri with a softened expression. "It doesn't have to be. Change doesn't happen overnight, but a step in the right direction is still a step. Metas need something. Something to unite them with the humans. This is probably it. Just for humans to see us. The real us underneath all the powers and the terrible things they've done to us." he nodded, understanding that it would be short of a miracle to kick up change so quickly. But he was never one to give up. "We have a lot of time to our lives... so patience is something we can afford." he agreed.

As soon as Tri mentioned leaving, Zaku's smile completely dropped. s**t, he had almost completely forgotten that they were enemies. He had been so caught up in his own excitement that he had almost considered him some kind of ally. Regret and an odd sense of sadness. He sighed, "You are free to leave whenever you want." he walked over to the window, opening the curtain and the window itself as he looked around. The coast was clear as it seemed not even Moira was outside anymore. "...Are you sure?" he asked, instantly regretting even asking. "If you find Mara... tell her I'm sorry. Even though I doubt she'd listen, especially after all the grief I've caused her." he frowned, looking genuinely distressed by what happened to her as he motioned to the window. "My door will always be open if you change your mind...... Goodbye, Tri....... And thanks again."

"...Are you sure?"

Tri's answering glare should be answer enough . Even so, he understood the opportunity he was giving up. If he stayed he could maybe help shift the Renegades away from their current path, especially after Zaku's agreement with his idea. It wasn't so violent as what they were doing before, might even work. It was tempting, but not if he didn't know where and how Mara, Ree, Hexxis and the others were. It was selfish but he didn't care.

"My door will always be open if you change your mind.......Goodbye, Tri.....And thanks again."

He gave Zaku an unreadable look but slowly nodded once and Shadow jumped out of the house at max distance. If Cord follow well...Zaku had just told him he could leave...just leave....and the offer to return. Stupid muse....stupid Shadow Arc.

Zaku returned the nod and as soon as he jumped he heard a shriek from the living room. He walked over to the door, opening it. "Don't pursue. Let him go." he commanded. She yelled out questioningly and then died down. Zaku sighed, moving back to the bed and he threw the journal back into the drawer haphazardly. He picked up the mp3 player and put on the earphones. He closed his eyes and just submerged himself in the classical violin pieces he had been listening to. It was usually somewhat of a comfort, but right now it only produced a solemn look on his face as he sat on the edge of the bed and burried his face into his hands. "...I'm such an idiot..."
