A hand lifted again to catch the tear at the corner of Autumn's eye. It is my time, you should not weep. Her other hands were not idle as they were weaving webbing into something. All things end. Just as you have yours, I have mine. She continued to weave with her hands. I have given of myself, felt so much ... A soft sigh. I am exhausted and that means my end.

"I wish I could've known you before. I feel like we might've gotten along," Autumn said, watching the weaving curiously. It was sad, in a way. But she was tired. Even Autumn could see that.
"What happens now?"

The webbing that she weaved was not unlock a bandage and it was lifted and held out to Autumn. You learn.

Autumn took the weaved webbing as it was offered, and held it delicately in her hands. She looked back up to the spider, waiting.
"Tell me what to do."

Another hand was lifted and then she was slicing a nail along another one of her arms. From wrist to elbow, thick ichor flowed. It was dark in color and sluggish. Cover it.

Autumn made a horrible squeak as she simultaneously intook air in sympathetic pain and let out a cry. Nonetheless, she was not going to argue with the creature. Quick as she could, she applied the web-bandage to her arm, holding it firmly in place.
"Please don't hurt yourself!" Autumn cried, lip trembling as the bandage stained with ichor. "I- I get that I'm supposed to learn something, but Jesus! That's- that's really ******** intense!"

This is nothing, she said simply. It truly was not. Another one of her hands pressed to Autumn's cheek. ... but that is the correct response. Press your hands against it, focus on it and on your desire to heal, to ease away the pain. The moment Autumn did as she was asked she would find herself experiencing a sensation of her own arm being sliced. There would be no injury to her arm but she would feel as if there were as well the continued weight of living the being in front of her. The acceptance of her fate, that it was her time. She would have to offer of herself to ease some of this pain and to heal the injury.

Unlike the emotional pain, this... actually hurt. Like the spider had sliced HER arm, and not the ichor-filled appendage. Autumn could almost feel the blood flowing, and bit hard on her lip to keep from whimpering. Instead, she focused. Focused on fighting away this pain, willing the injury to be gone. To give the spider just a bit more time, for this cut to disappear. It hurt... but she did as she was told.

It would ease, it would lessen, and as Autumn worked her way through the emotional and physical pain, the cut would heal. Soon there was no ichor, just dark flesh under bloody webbing. She smiled at Autumn, eased her hand away from her. Now look and see what you have done. This is my gift to you. I only hope that it will help you on the way to your own fate.

It was amazing. Autumn had seen the cut, she had felt it- and yet, it was like it had never been there at all. Autumn stared in awe at the healed arm for a moment, then looked back up to the spider with a sad smile.
"Thank you. For everything. I'm so glad we met, and... I'll do the best I can with this."

Of course.A tired smile. Would you hold my hand one more time? I think I would like to not not be alone.

Without another word, Autumn seamlessly took the creature's hand. It was not a feeling she had expected to understand... and yet. Her encounter with the burning man, her fear of Zac not getting her to safety in time... it was something she felt all too well. Autumn gently squeezed the hand in hers, as reassuringly as she possibly could, while still being careful and gentle.

Thank you.Then. ... and I am sorry that I had not met you sooner. That smile is there again, sad and wistful. Her hand in Autumn's turns cold slowly, the skin blackening and then cracking further. Eventually Autumn herself will start to feel it. Mutely. The weight of this being's journey. What she has done for countless centuries. That now she accepts her end with grace. Eventually her form cracks and crumbles. The spiders start crawling in from everywhere. They gather up the remains piece by piece and when they are done there is nothing left. Nothing but Autumn and this empty cavern underneath the ruined hospital.

She was gone before her very eyes. Autumn sniffed quietly, rubbing at her eyes. Too little, too late she had missed such an incredible being's life. She had been here for centuries, taking their pain. Easing their minds. It was... so incredible. And she was the only one who would ever know.
Autumn stood up, shakily, and looked around. As sad as it was... there wasn't much point in sticking around, now.
She looked for a way out.

There was warmth again at her neck, the same feeling of something being given and something being taken at the same time. Georg. The small spider that had hidden itself on her was there and it crawled it's way off of her to the place where the healer had been. It was larger than it had been previously, bigger than it's brethren. You.It could barely talk. You nice.
