"Will Lucas's business offices ever be done?" Wil shook and shook and closed his eyes and weaved on his feet like a reed in the wind, turning the 8 Ball finally over and waiting for the message to float up and appear. He grimaced suddenly, "Euuuurrrrggghhh- My sources say no." Wil then fished in his nearby lunch bag and fished out one of Nasir's pastries, "Consolation prize? Maybe you're right... it's all bunk right?" He grinned. chrystali im a professional about my 8balling

A certain older gentleman in a blue suit was just recovering from whatever Jeremiah had whispered to him that turned the tips of his ears pink. He was seen gesturing though, first to Aleksy's booth, then to Cid's table (though in that case mostly the window display behind him down the street but the group there was fairly distracting). It was always a good time setting Jeremiah off on trouble makers though.

Pale eyes watched the other with a quiet sort of interest, the little sway Wil performed earning a good humored smile again. One couldn't say the man didn't put on a performance. The answer, however, earned a heartfelt belly laugh from Lucas, shaking his head, shoulders trembling with the irony of it all. His words spilled over with the laughter threading through them, "But you may be right, and then what's bunk but big business, really?" He grinned, unsurprised but amused. It was worth the laughter, at least. At the sight of the pastry, however, he lifted his good hand in gentle refusal. "That man," he indicated Nasir with a lift of his bearded chin, "has seen what I eat, and he'd probably beat me with the pastry if I accepted." No, he wouldn't, but it was funny to think so. "But hey - if you're right, maybe I'll be here next year as your sidekick."

Chester didn't have much use for couture. He did possess an abundance of nostalgia for Ashdown's frequent community gatherings however, and tended to at least make an appearance at everything from Earth Day tree plantings to the Pac-Man and Tetris competitions that sprung up around the games' anniversaries.
He generally didn't speak to anyone as he wove through the crowd, and today was no different. With Mother's Day approaching, he was on the lookout for his customary bouquet, so it wasn't a surprise when he ended up near the booth representing Pocket Full of Posies. A woman was already speaking to the owner, someone from the salon if he recalled correctly. It didn't really matter much anyway. He was just there to observe. It was a shame that he was so ill equipped for stealth.Quote: i'm not sure how much time i'm going to have to tag, so i'm just going to have him go from booth to booth like a creeper :B

"Aleksey!" a maybe familiar voice came from the crowds, someone had discovered flower crowns were a thing. Zac wanted one. "Aleksey! I'm sorry! Do you have any uh...." Zac hesitated as he caught up. "Uh... do you...have any flower crowns left?" He grinned, fishing for bills in his pocket.

Asiya blinked when she heard the humming. It was a catchy little tune, whoever was doing it. Catchy enough to cause the young woman to pause and look for the source of the sound. When she couldn't find it, she stepped away from the stall she was at, and then went looking for it. Surely, it had be coming from someone near by?
"What a pretty tune..."

Nasir blinked, hummed a bit, and then leaned to touch his fingers against Wil's shoulder, letting them close in the fabric. It distracted him from saying anything about how Lucas should just take the pastry. He baked it - that meant it would be good for him, obviously.

There were a smattering of wildflowers and the crowns Zac had shown up to request, but nothing he could purchase now, not if he didn't want it to wilt before the 8th. Chester stepped away from the booth, already anticipating a snack when he heard it, an echoing hum coming from everywhere and nowhere. It lifted the hairs at the back of his neck as he tried to move to a less populated spot, casting suspicious glances at everyone he passed.

Tooly was morosely wandering around the stalls, poking through the offerings here and there. Fashion Week was fine and dandy and all, and the raffle prize was a temptation (she wasn't about to say no to more makeup supplies) but she wished there was an event that catered to her particular skill set. Just imagining it picked Tooly's spirits up. Like a... a zombie run! Or a comic convention! She'd be rolling in the freelance work, and she could make several videos per day, post them up to her channel- Oh, yeah. Her channel. Dammit all! She'd decided to come down her to forget about the brouhaha for a bit. "Well, no surprise there, Tooly!" she muttered to herself. "You've been sleep, eating, and breathing the channel for the past few years. Not like you're going to completely forget it over daisy crowns and... humming?" Tooly paused, headed tilted as she tried to get a read on the oddly directionless music.

Lucas, too, heard the sound. When Wil turned to try and locate the sound, he did as well, frowning slightly. In his experience, low hums were a warning. A bad warning.

Others seemed to have picked up on the humming, too.
She was glad she wasn't the only one.
"Any idea on where it's coming from?"
In an attempt to possibly see better, Asiya stood up on her tip-toes.
Maybe it would help?
Nope.
It didn't help -- all she could see were the backs & shoulders of other people. Curse her short height!
