Air Air blinked, surprised by Salem's words, and looked down at the ball with a thoughtful expression. "You have a point, but I'm not totally sure this one works like that." The Ditto-Clefable stared at the thing he held, weighing it between his hands as he passed it gently back and forth between them. "This one looks and feels different than the other one. Probably because it isn't the same sort of thing, don't you think?" He knew better than to expect an answer by now, so he simply allowed the question to fade into the realm of the rhetorical while Salem moved on, musing aloud about the situation.
Air held the ball in his hands and listened quietly, ears twitching pensively as he considered the claim the Gardevoir had made. It seemed possible that the explosion was planned, even for the purpose of planting the bombs. Yet at the same time... "So you think that explosion was a distraction so the Inkay could plant this?" Air frowned, accepting the bag from Paper as she voiced her question and Salem promptly breezed by it, taking the thought in stride. "But why would the bomb be in such a weird place then?" The Ditto opened the shoulder bag and nestled the orb inside it, frowning down at it as he pondered how best to carry the small thing. After a moment, he shrugged and slung the bag over his right wing, continuing his thought. "I mean, even if it had to be placed in a hurry, don't you think it would have been more...deliberate? It seems like she just shoved it in a place it wouldn't be seen. Unless she was targeting Remi, but if she wanted to do that wouldn't it make more sense to put it by her desk? It doesn't even look like this desk is used that often." Air gestured to the desk beside him, which had developed a light layer of dust, then shrugged. "But maybe you're right. I don't know how big the explosion would be if this thing went off--maybe it's big enough to wipe out the whole office on its own." Or maybe it wasn't a bomb at all--the whole situation was about as difficult to sort through as it could get.
Air mirrored Salem's sigh before the Gardevoir stood, taking charge of the situation once more. "It's probably for the best," the Ditto conceded, glancing over at his own sucker and picking it up, though he didn't have the stomach for it currently. He watched the exchange between Paper and Salem silently, a slight smile flickering across his face in response to the Psychic's humor--it made the situation seem less dire to see that careless smile, and that was a nice thing. Air waved after Paper, though she didn't look back to see it, and then he crossed the room to join Salem, considering his options. "Sure," he said, nodding in agreement. "I'm going to look around the hallway for a bit I think. See what I can learn about where the Inkay came from and where she went." He smiled as the Gardevoir departed ahead of him, waving back. "See you on the other side then."
When he arrived at the Carracosta's office, Salem would be greeted by the Dual Type in question pacing the floor, a small length of metal grasped tightly in her left flipper and another in her right. "...the stairs of all things, I mean really." She didn't notice Salem at all when the Gardevoir walked in, making her way over to the window and propping it open to glance outside. She held her metal at eye level and peered at the stairs that remained above and below with a sharp gaze before grunting and collecting them both in her right flipper. "It's not like I had other things to tend to, of course not." She closed the window with some force and turned to make her way across the room, only to stop short at the sight of Salem. A look of surprise mixed with uncertainty flashed across her face, and the turtle tilted her head at the Psychic curiously. "Something you need, Mister?" Her tone wasn't harsh, but it did have an edge to it. She thought she'd seen this Gardevoir around before, but she wasn't sure: more likely than not he was sent to check up on them after the incident, which meant he was some sort of manager or something from another department, so she'd seen him at a meeting or some such affair. She didn't want to deal with that bureaucracy nonsense right now--not when there was work to be done--but she knew it was necessary. Hopefully he wouldn't take long if that really was what he was here for--she had metals to test.
Air stood in the office for a few beats after Salem left, listening to the Gardevoir's footsteps getting further away as he stared down at his lollipop, lost in thought. For the first time, it occurred to the Ditto just how much weight was resting on his shoulders: his Team wasn't there to back him up, he was working with people he'd just met, he was searching a huge tower for bombs that could cause the demise of any or all of the Pokemon he'd met today, and he was alone. For a moment, the Ditto's head began to spin, and he leaned against Remi's desk, closing his eyes tightly and blocking out the many noises of the surrounding floor that teased at his ears. "It's okay. It's all going to be okay." Air whispered the words like a prayer, opening his eyes and reaching back to his bag to check on the orb. It was still there, traces of the Inkay's aura mingling with tendrils of his own around it. He had to find her--friend or foe she would have answers, and answers were the only thing that would keep them ahead of the Sableye. Straightening up, Air took a deep breath, eyes fixing on the trail that split outside the doorway. "I don't know who you are," he said aloud, voice low and solemn, "but I won't let you or that Sableye hurt anyone else." Pulling the wrapping off of his sucker, Air popped it in his mouth and was immediately surprised by the delicious fruity flavor that accompanied it: no wonder Remi was so fond of these candies if they were all this good. Smile on his face, Air tossed the wrapper to join its fellows in the trash, feeling more like himself again.
Air strode out of the room with renewed vigor, turning to follow the path to the right where it led. He moved quickly, circling the floor in good time and learning that the Inkay had been busy, entering no less than five of the offices, three of which had Pokemon in them when he passed. He did his best to avoid their notice, though he flashed a slight smile at Salem and Paper when he caught sight of them as he passed the offices they were in, regardless of whether they saw him or not. About halfway through his trek, Air spotted the door to the stairs, where the aura trail started and ended. Without hesitation, he pulled open the door and stepped into the stairwell, looking left and right to find the trail proceeded in both directions. The Ditto couldn't tell which way she'd come from and which way she'd gone, though he imagined Lux would've been able to if he were here. The pang of regret lasted only a moment before he shook it off, forcing himself to think positively: when he told Lux about this later he'd be so proud--that was something to look forward to. Stepping back inside, Air closed the door and crossed his arms, looking about the hallway for a moment longer before finishing his trek. He didn't stop until he found himself back outside Remi's office. That took care of the first part of his mission.
After a moment's consideration, Air turned around to check out some of the offices the Inkay had entered. There was one right next door, but there was another Pokemon in there--a Heliolisk who probably wouldn't just let him snoop around the office easily. The next office she'd entered was occupied too, though this time by the familiar form of Paper walking around within. Air waved at her as he passed and moved on, leaving her to her work as he entered the office next door, which was also illuminated by the Inkay's trail.
A quick look around this office revealed the identity of its owner, the brown and yellow blend of the Pawniard's aura scattered all around inside. Besides that, the place bore telltale signs of its owner--little cuts and nicks in its woodwork surely caused by the Dual Type's swords as he went about his daily tasks--but that wasn't the thing that Air was particularly concerned with. The Ditto-Clefable followed the trail doggedly, finding it snaked through the office wildly, much like the one left in Remi's office. "Why did you wander around so much?" Air murmured aloud, "Were you looking for something?" A possible answer to his question appeared moments later, as the trail brushed against the front of a file cabinet in the right-hand corner of the room. "Like a place to hide a bomb?" he said, voice quavering a bit in spite of himself. Pulling it open, Air braced himself for an explosion but was met with nothing more than the sight of a too-familiar green and white orb nestled between the files. The Ditto-Clefable bit his lip and pulled the sphere out, reaching back to open his bag and slide his find inside. There wouldn't be any leaving this floor until he'd followed the aura through each of the offices now--he'd be sure of that.
((As he examines the Inkay's aura, Air tracks her path and learns that she entered and exited the 6th floor using the stairs, and that her aura trails both up and down the stairwell. As he wanders the hallway, he discovers the Inkay entered five of the offices, not including the one where the explosion occurred. While he is following her aura through an office, Air discovers it belongs to the Pawniard and finds a green and white orb the size of a softball in the room's right-hand corner.)) Also, because I think we need it by this point, a layout of the offices. They circle around the inner staircase, and are listed below in order. Each subsequent number is to the right of the previous one, with Office 1 being to the right of Office 10. 1. Viann & Zahra & Ty are transitioning to Floor 14
The weather station. This floor is split into three main areas, which each take up a third of the floor, wrapped around the connection to the central stairwell: the general monitoring room, containing a number of charts and devices for making measurements and recording observations; the natural disaster room, where highly specialized equipment is kept for the purpose of prediction and first response to major weather emergencies; and the reference room where books on meteorology, astrology, and other related subjects can be found, as well as a constantly updated and highly specific reference detailing the current weather and predictions through the next seven days. A Castform can be found in the reference room and an Absol in the natural disaster room. The entrance from the stairs leads into the general monitoring room, the other two rooms can be accessed through doors leading from this room on the right and left sides of the room, but the natural disaster and reference rooms do not connect to the stairs directly. From the general monitoring room, you can progress to the 13th or 15th floor on foot.

Paper She entered the empty office with a deep sigh and a heavy mind after a nervous shuffle to the left at the sight of the Heliolisk working in the office she were steps from entering in a haze. She lifted her paws to massage the temples beside her large ears and closed her eyes tightly before even considering engaging the next activity: looking for anything strange. Her blue eyes opened with slight reluctance to take in the office before her. One much like all the others, which was comforting to say the least. Actually it was... very neat. A half smile crossed the Audino's face, her anxiety still present though faded as she stepped further into the room. It was a nice room, it was, well, neat, yes but it was so intricate and she wanted to touch everything at least once. In a sense, she had an excuse to, but that wasn't proper. If she stayed focused, she could still be... semi proper and really, that's all that mattered in her mind. It wasn't like anyone was watching, but... still. The thought did cause Paper to lean back out the door and check both sides of the hall though, catching Air's back as the Clefable wandered the hall.
Her trek about the room started like the other before it, a healthy intake of both of what she could see from above the desks and from the ground below them... The carpet was soft to match the neat office, as though it'd never been walked upon before. The Audino sort of felt bad for being the one to push it in. Maybe the office wasn't used much? At least, it surely didn't have too active an occupant. She wondered where they could have been, who they were. She surveyed the desk decorated in various pens and notepads alike when she stood, their finely printed lettering laying claim to all of it present. A gesture to the room owner's name, probably? She stood there a moment to observe before glancing back at the door over her shoulder, then ripping a piece of notepaper for her own keeping. Onto the next thing. The Audino turned once more and worked her way back around the room, but more specifically, the back of it that she'd yet to check. There was a filing cabinet- drawers she'd yet to check. Paper looked the large metal structure up and down before beginning to go through the drawers, top to bottom. She was careful not to read anything- that wasn't right, she learned better than that and upon clearing them, the Audino stepped back to view the whole of the filing cabinet, tapping her paw against her cheek. Maybe this room was clear? Surely there weren't bombs in all of these rooms, that'd be absurd. She shrugged, turning away to make her way back out of the room again when she bit her lip, inclined to look back and with a sharp turn, she did. It was just so... full. Did she really look it over well enough? If she didn't and there was a bomb, it would be her fault if it went off. She could never forgive herself. Paper started from the top, once again looking the cabinet over, up and down. It wasn't fully against the wall despite being in the corner and, naturally that called for the curious tug to see what may have fell beside. That was when she caught it, the green and white orb identical to the one Air now carried. Another one- oh, gods it was another one. Her paws rose to her cuff her mouth, her eyes screwing shut as she exhaled deeply. It could have exploded, anyone who entered this room after her could have died and it would have been her fault.
Paper's hands dropped to her sides as her eyes opened, and she proceeded to crouch down to get a better view of the orb, prodding it with her finger. It was wedged in there tightly. An Inkay couldn't have done this, right? ... She couldn't have placed off of these, they were so... tiny. They weren't really built to hold anything at all. Maybe there were more besides the Sableye and the Inkay? She stopped, examining the orb again before remembering Salem's words. Surely, it wouldn't explode without a cue, right? She bit her lip again, the soreness of the soft tissue becoming apparent as she reached for the orb again, held her breath, and pulled. She pulled it hard before stopping for a few seconds, as though that would 'lessen the increased likelihood of it exploding' before trying again with more force, twisting it carefully as she did until the Audino finally fell back against the rug with a soft grunt, her large fluffy tail breaking her fall. Orb in hand, Paper was back to her feet and dashing into the hall to find Air. The longer she held this, the more likely she felt at risk of dying suddenly and death was very, very bad. SalemHe entered the new office without a concern, no thought given to mayhaps announce his arrival, or request approval for entry. He would have started rambling something, upon being noticed waltzing it, but he was not. The Carracosta was distracted doing... something and that was fine. He preferred it that way- it made him all the less suspicious as he took advantage of the setting to eyeball the room from where he remained in the doorway. He looked for things that stood out. Colors of green and red he was so far familiar with in the muted white offices. The bombs were somewhat hidden from what they've found so far. Where would he hide one? The psychic rested his closed fist over his lips, his icy blue eyes turning about every few seconds in small snaps of motion over and under desks and any traces of drawers being ever so slightly open. His endeavor would come to an abrupt halt as the female's voice broke him from his trance, and the Gardevoir's eyes blinked wide as he turned his attention back to the Carracosta who was more than a little uncertain of his sudden being there. How did he make this simple? He wanted to get in and out quickly... "Ah, sorry. You seemed busy so I was just roaming my headspace while I waited. Actually, I'm here for a reason. Apparently Jarvick has been leaving some tools of his around and I've taken it upon myself to check around!" Straight and to the point even through his ever changing inflection. The Gardevoir's arm lowered as he began to pace about the room with little care of the dual type's possible disapproval otherwise. His attention was back to the floor and desks as he circled about the room, pausing occasionally to sort through drawers before he continued with a tone tinged of agitation: "Seriously, with all the explosions he's been causing lately... I even found one in Remi's room, could you imagine?" His speech was strangely clear despite the lollipop in his mouth-- as though the psychic had refined the skill to speak around it. It might as well had never existed, the stick bobbing between his lips aside as he continued on. "I haven't seen him at all today. Leave it to ghosts to master being covert, I guess." He paused, his eyes still low. "Sorry, that was a tangent. Have you seen anything out of the ordinary these last few hours?"
((While searching the office, Salem discerns that the windows are shut and the room is a bit cluttered--it seems the Carracosta makes good use of her office space. Many of the desks have varying assortments of piping, rocks, or metals atop them; while there are many things to be found here, everything seems to have been put in a deliberate place, and the drawers contain files or tools that have similarly specific placement. It is only upon turning his gaze upward that Salem spots a green and white orb the size of a softball atop a file cabinet in the front left-hand corner of the room, tucked into the place where the walls meet so it won't roll away; at his height, Salem has to be standing across the room from the cabinet to see the orb--the file cabinet being eight feet tall.)) ViannThe Meowstic's expression softened as it became apparent Ty would stick by them, at least relatively. It was all he asked for really-- staying within sensible range at least, so they could hear or see each other at all times. Assist one another if need be. "You can run off when we find 'im, not like I care, but for now we dunno what we're gonna find. We dunno if he has friends." Though, now that he was looking for it, Viann couldn't sense anything particularly strange within his range... unless they were all Dark types, which wasn't impossible, but unlikely unless it was an attack knowing the tower's primary overseer was a psychic. Maybe the Sableye really was alone. Not like he'd need much help when he can traverse shadows.
As the Pancham reversed his grip, Viann glanced back at Zahra with a bob of his head toward the the direction he was tugged in in gesture to follow along- or at least that it was okay to proceed now. He didn't think this was going to be remotely as easy as Ty appeared to, but truly, he hoped it would be. He wanted to get this over with, he regret visiting now of all times to survey the land... but it was what it was, and now their help was needed. The feline crossed his arms and simply nodded at Ty as he went into the security room, though he himself had other intentions and made his way to the stairway with slow steps. Not like they all needed to be in there and we wanted to get on as quickly as possible. He walked down halfway carefully before pausing to eye the steps with a passing thought. Viann's arms uncrossed; one of which lingered against the wall as he turned to continue his way down while Ty possibly tore apart the security room.
The 14th floor was... not entirely what he'd expected. Viann stopped at the base of the stairs in a sudden stillness, his eyes moving about to observe the walls around him before edging into the corridor. He'd wait for the other(s) to catch up so they could approach accordingly. It didn't seem as though they were bound to split up.

"A bit, yeah." The Carracosta said, making her way over to the desk and setting down her iron bars atop it. She crossed her flippers, arching an eyebrow at the mention of the Gardevoir's reason. "Tools, really?" She shook her head, huffing a sigh. "Honestly hasn't he done enough for one day? Wasn't even supposed to be in today and now all this." She gestured to nothing in particular. Honestly, did the ghost want to get himself in trouble?
The turtle stood post beside her desk, watching the Gardevoir rummage through her office without amusement. "If you told me what you were talking about I might be able to give you a hand, Mister." She replied to his comment about her coworker. "You mean he left somethin' explosive in Remi's office?" That didn't sound like Jarvick at all--he was so possessive of his damn chemicals, wouldn't even let her get within five feet of them. She'd often thought it would be fun to steal one when he was out, just to mess with his head, but he kept the things under lock and key. "...guy really must be losing his head."
He continued weaving through the room, eyes scanning everything in a way that made her feel a little peculiar, like she was watching something she shouldn't be seeing, but soon after he stopped and addressed her again. "Well yeah, it's strange that he's here and blowing holes in things." The Carracosta rolled her eyes. "Like I said, he wasn't even supposed to be in at all. Was talking to me just yesterday about how he was going out of town today to test some nastier combinations." She would've liked to have gone with, but her workload wouldn't permit it, and now he'd gone and made it worse. "S'pose he forgot something, slipped up and some things got mixed that shouldn't have and boom." The turtle shrugged. "What's weirder is that he hasn't shown up yet--last time he was real quick to fess up. And it's pretty 'out of the ordinary' that you're here and telling me he's been leaving his things scattered. Sounds nothing like him." She stared the Gardevoir down with a steady look. "So, I'm wondering. What department are you from, huh? Should I be concerned about Jarvick, or should I be concerned about you?"Air Air was on a mission. The Ditto-Clefable had an identifying factor now and he intended to use it to the best of his ability: he'd have every bomb on this floor in no time--the Inkay would lead him right to them. His two orbs nestled securely in the messenger back hung on his wings, Air turned to make his way back out to the hallway, determination in his gaze, but that expression quickly shifted to one of confusion as he spotted Paper run by outside, quickly followed by the realization of the glimpse of green he'd seen in the Audino's hands.
"Paper!" Air did his best to keep his voice low, stage-whispering the Normal Type's name as he hurried to the door, looking down the hallway to the left, where he'd seen her heading. "Paper!" he hissed again, though hopefully she'd heard him the first time and was headed back to him. Air himself would hurry to close the distance between them, taking the orb from her quickly with one hand and taking her hand with the other. "In here." he whispered, pulling her into the office nearby so they could talk, only after he'd confirmed the Inkay's aura didn't stray into it.
He let the Audino go when they were inside, and pulled the bag from his wings to carefully open in and place the third orb within, beside its brothers. "I found another one too," he said, chagrined. "This one was in the office to our right," he said, gesturing with his head, "That office belonged to the Pawniard from before. And this bomb, well..." The Ditto looked at Paper forlornly. "It pretty much had to have been the Inkay who put it there." Air sighed and closed up the bag, replacing it on his back with a slight twinge of wariness as he realized the sheer amount of firepower he was holding right now: if even one of them went off, they all would, and he most certainly wouldn't survive it. Laughing nervously, Air turned to his companion. "W-Where'd you find yours?" he said, doing his best to sound cheerful.
((Upon entering the office, Air and Paper can see that its walls and desks are covered in sketches. This office seems to belong to a designer or architect, as the sketches depict variously detailed drawings of rooms, buildings, machines, and other devices with shorthand notes about the functions of various parts, commentary on potential color schemes, and other such details in their margins.)) Venari Ty
"That's true." For Ty, it was annoying to be dragged down by weaker individuals but he had committed to his path and he would follow it through. It was a man's job to take care of people that were being threatened, so he was going to. Or rather, it wasn't that he actually held any ill will towards Zahra or Viann, since unlike Salem they weren't crazy assholes, it was just unpleasant to have to guard them. That was that and this was this. So when Viann made a point, he could reasonably enough accept it. There could be two, or more. That was possible... wasn't likely but it could be. Sableye usually worked on their own for their dumb pranks, but this wasn't really a usual prank either. There might be more lurking here or there or somewhere. If he ran into multiple, he'd have to take one out in a hurry... probably by dropkicking it or something. They really sucked at keeping their balance if you hit them really hard in the face. Most things did, but Sableye were extra bad at it. Probably.
By the time the thoughts had been carried through to their reasonable conclusion, Ty had already finished looking through the office. Things were way too neat and the Sableye wasn't there, or didn't seem to be there anyways, so there was no point in wasting more time. There was no time to waste, no point in wasting it, and also he needed to track down that Sableye, sock him in the face and drag him off to the authorities or whatever. That meant searching the tower from top to bottom as quickly and effectively as possible, which unquestionably meant sprinting right past Viann instead of taking a break for polite chatter. He would call back as he went, telling Viann to "Come on!" even as he went straight into the general monitoring room, looked around, and then peeled off quickly towards the right. He checked under any tables, desks and chairs as he went in order to cast a keen eye over the shadows for slight disturbances, though he didn't slow down a whole lot to do it. He would easily be the first to reach the adjoined reference room where he would pause his search only briefly to get the Castform's attention. "Hey, have you seen a Sableye come through here?"
Zahra, and Viann, would probably be close enough behind him and pending the Castform's response he would be quick to continue his search and then likely zip down towards the 13th floor. But that would be then and this was now.

ZahraZahra followed Viann’s lead without hesitation, floating gracefully above the steps as she craned her neck to see ahead of the delicate-featured feline. She was close behind him as they allowed the Pancham to lead, nervously taking note of the personality clash between the two males. Where Viann was cautious and tactful, Ty was headstrong and hasty. She had a feeling that she herself fell somewhere between the them but that did not make her an ideal mediator. She could only be grateful that they seemed able to work things out between themselves.
When the Meowstic halted at the foot of the steps, Zahra simply slipped past him into the more open expanse of the room. Her dark eyes scanned the walls and ceiling as she floated higher, hoping that the better vantage point would bring anything dangerous into view. She glanced over the scant furniture in the General Monitoring Room, looking for anything out of place at the tops of nearby shelves and cabinets.
The Pancham continued into the room to their left, entering the Reference Room with a blunt and rapid greeting to the room’s single occupant. She marveled briefly at his confidence in spite of the situation, but glanced down to Viann still near to her. She gestured somewhat subtly after Ty, wondering if they should follow up behind him, but eventually decided that she should at least spare a quick glance for the neighbouring Disaster Room in their initial sweep. She was more nervous at the idea of turning their backs to the Sableye that might lay in wait just behind them.
Floating briefly in the doorway, her eyes met those of the Absol standing stock-still in the center of the room. Complicated equipment lined the walls with flashing lights, and a mess of papers had been scattered across the floor from the shaking of the tower. ”Everything okay in here?” she asked the Absol, her words rushed but not unkind. She broke eye contact long enough to properly survey the room from where she hovered at the door.
[[ Zahra followed through the Reference Room and is now glancing over the Disaster Room. Feel free to let me know/edit something out if I got something wrong. ]](( Darky ))

Upon Ty's entrance, he would find the Castform hovering over a book that rested open on the table. "Too centralized for that..." She murmured, eyes glued to a paragraph preceded by the heading 7. Looking up from the text, her eyes lit on the Pancham and widened with surprise. "I didn't hear that we'd be having visitors today," she said absently, staring at the panda as though she'd seen a ghost. "And you're the second one too..." She hovered down to his eye level, gazing at him quietly. "I haven't seen a Sableye no, did you two get separated?" She laughed lightly. "This room isn't really intended for the general public," she told him, looking pointedly toward the door. "We can figure this out back in the main area, come on."
She would discourage any further efforts on Ty's behalf to probe into the reference room further, but from the looks of things that wouldn't be a major concern. Nothing seemed out of place and from the sound of it no one unfamiliar to the Castform had entered this room. But there was the matter of the second visitor she'd mentioned.
When Zahra entered the disaster room she would be greeted by a sudden turn of the Absol who spoke over her words. "Calliope did you--" His words died in his throat when he saw the unfamiliar Togetic looking back at him uncertainly. With an uncomfortable cough, the Absol raised a paw to push back the fur that had fallen over his eye, pushing a pair of glasses up his nose. "Forgive me, I thought you were someone else." He sounded somewhat disappointed. "Anyway, if you'll come with me? We're not supposed to let visitors in here. Awful lot of that today." The latter comment was uttered as an afterthought, but he was already moving toward Zahra, attempting to usher the Togetic back outside. Before he could however, something would catch her ear: beneath the hum of the machines Zahra could hear a soft, steady beeping coming from somewhere inside.
Back out in the general monitoring room, things looked fine on the surface--from the rapid (though-efficient) searching of the room as they went to its opposite entrances they would find nothing of particular consequence in their paths. There were, however, three things that could be searched in greater depth: the main monitor--a vast computer at the far side of the room blocking off the windows, displaying data about the current weather, the file cabinets--a set of closed cabinets lining the wall outside the reference room, probably filled with overflow papers from the looks of it, and the machines, a collection of bulky devices that are probably used to record information about the weather.
((I'll make this pretty later probably))

The two groups worked hard to assemble the clues and evacuate the area. It was a grueling process, searching for explosives and the antagonist who'd placed them, but it was met with success: over time, a peculiar pattern began to emerge.
There was a common story being told by the Tower workers: a lost Inkay had come by some time that morning, claiming to be searching for the police outpost. Air was quick to report that the aura of this Inkay went through many of the rooms of the tower--and all of the rooms the Inkay had entered had bombs within. Curiously, almost all of the areas with bombs were work offices, though a number of the workers were absent that day and all of them, the group would learn, were Pokemon who worked day hours only, leaving by 5 in the evening. The offices only held green bombs that appeared to be haphazardly discarded, put in places not optimal for explosions but where they likely wouldn't be seen. The consensus, in the end, was that they were likely intended to cause a diversion, rather than harm or destroy anything or anyone.
As for the Sableye, the Guild members would track him to the library of records. The groups met in the middle after following traces of him--Air's group followed a faint aura trail and Viann's group followed the man himself, encountering him in the stairwell and making hot pursuit. They found themselves led to the library, where a soft, ticking sound permeated the air. There were blue bombs, like the red and green ones, placed all throughout the room, stuck to the walls with some strange adhesive, and these ones were clearly on a timer. After they'd entered the room, seeking the ghost and to handle the bombs, the Sableye emerged from the shadows at the door.
"Well, it seems we've reached the end." His voice was mirthless--if anything it was a bit disappointed. "I hoped this would be more fruitful, but it can't be helped." He shook his head. "We'll meet again, perhaps. I'll even give you a head start." Two yellow bombs were in his hands, and he tossed them to the air, where they crackled and burst with an enormous noise and huge clouds of smoke--without ear plugs, no Pokemon would have been able to withstand the sonic shock. When they recovered, he was gone and they were still surrounded by active explosives. Even if they pursued him, his traces were gone, lost to the shadows, once more. Those who stayed behind would be in the much less fortunate position of seeing the room light up with a familiar current that shot up the metal shelves. And then the everything exploded into fire and paper.
In the aftermath, the injuries sustained were mostly minor. Those remaining in the room were safe thanks to Air's quick, protective actions, and those who had left would only face the need to run from shrapnel and a newly unstable structure. Thanks to their efforts, and the Tower's tactful architecture, the building still stood, and no civilians saw harm, but a woeful number of records had been lost. There were several documents destroyed and presumably some missing, though it was hard to tell which was which. In the end, there would be a lot of assembling fragments of burnt papers, trying to determine what records had been taken, if any. The Guildmasters would be informed about the problem quickly, and a meeting would be held promptly, but only after the six Guild members involved had given their report and were dismissed.
