This would actually make a good workout. The water provided a weight, and it used similar muscles to when he'd pull up traps or carts. "Sounds like a plan." Though it was relaxing rowing. The rhythmic sounds of the sticks hitting the water, the feel of his muscles working, and the sight of a pretty girl in close proximity to him.
After a few more meters passed, he pulled his stick back into the boat. "Boats are...pretty neat." He murmured while peering over to the depths. Typically he'd be flying over it, or in it. Being above but still and so close was a whole new vantage point for him.

Monroe also pulled her oar into the boat and set it down as she laid back and tried to get as comfy as one could in a wooden boat. The shore was distant enough that it felt like they were the only two pae in the entire world. The way the water rocked the boat was so gentle and relaxing and the sounds were soothing as well. "Yeah, it's pretty amazing to be out here like this." Her muscles stung a little, but otherwise they were just floating, it was so much more relaxing to sit in a boat than it was to swim in the water or fly above it. The girl laughed, "I'm glad we did this." She kind of wanted to get back to shore before they got in trouble, but at the same time she didn't want to move.... Ever.

Taking a cue from his guide, the male settled down as well to stare up at the blue sky. The gentle movement of the boat was almost like a rocking motion. Like when he was a baby. Pix wasn't really that bad of a mother. She'd always pay attention to him when he cried.
"Same." A content sigh. "You know, you are one cool girl." He'd definitely make it a point to visit her whenever he came into the village.

Monroe shook her head and laughed. She was hardly 'cool', in fact she was normally pretty boring. This little adventurous streak was inspired by wanting to show this boy around and then deciding that neither one of them had ever been on a boat. "You can only say that because you haven't met any other girls." Off in there own world, and blissfully unaware of the small gathering that was occurring on the shores that they had stolen the boat from. A voice, though distant, traveled fairly clearly across the water, "Monroe!" It was distant enough that the female dismissed it as her imagination.

"Well...Yes, but I believe even if I had I'd still think you're cool." The teen grinned toothily, totally caught. Just a little longer, and he'd suggest they'd go back. Just...a little longer.
Did he just hear Monroe's name? Nah...maybe? Nah. They were all alone out here!

Monroe smiled shyly. "Well thanks. But I wouldn't have done any of this if you hadn't wandered into the village this morning."
The sound of Monroe's name grew louder as multiple voices joined in the chorus. It finally got to the point where she sat straight up in the boat and looked over at the shore to see all the pae gathered there. "Oh no..." She said. She squinted her eyes to try and identify who all was on shore. "Oh no..." She repeated as she identified her dad. "Uhm... I think it's time to start paddling." Monroe sighed as she picked up her oar.

"Well, I hope I'm not a bad influence." He lifted his head to grin at her.
That WAS her name! As she sat up, so did the angel to peer across to the shore. "Oh...oops." Wincing, he picked up his paddle to start the rowing back. "I hope this won't get you into too much trouble..."

Monroe's eyes widened, she hadn't even realized that she had basically called him a bad influence, that wasn't nice. "Well... No. It was still my idea. If anything I'm the bad influence. "
Monroe began paddling with Saber, going much slower this time. Not only were her arms tired, but she was also putting off her inevitable doom. "Uhm... No I'm probably going to be in big trouble. I'm going to take the blame though... And you should let me. I'll probably only get grounded or extra chores or something. There's no reason to drag you into it." Monroe said looking at the boy now. Her punishment would be bad, but it wasn't like they would kick her out of the village or anything, she wasn't certain that Saber could get off that easily unless she took the heat for it.

"So...since we both think we're the bad influence, I say we're both equally to blame." He wasn't particularly looking forward though to reaching shore. They...did not look happy.
"And you taking all the blame? Wouldn't feel right. What kind of friend would I be if I did that?" He flashed a reassuring smile. "I'm a guest. It takes a lot to be mad at guests. I'll be fine with some heat."

"Okay, maybe we're both equally to blame, but as far as they're concerned..." Monroe motioned to the shore with her head as she continued to row the boat. "No, you can't say anything!" She urged him. "I mean maybe they won't do anything, but they can't ground you or give you more chores, so if they do something it could be bad." Monroe shook her head. "And if they're not going to do anything anyways, you might as well not say anything and it will be just the same." That sounded like sound logic to her. She just didn't want to have to never see him again if her dad went all psycho or something.

He still didn't like the thought of her taking all the blame. But she was insistent...and she knew the villagers most. She'd know how they would react and weight the outcomes. "Alright...alright...but I owe you one."
They were almost to shore now. He looked up at the none-to-happy faces of the villagers. "Hey guys...I didn't need to meet everyone."

"I'll accept that," Monroe agreed, as long as he didn't take any of the blame, that way she knew they could see each other again. He was her friend now, so that meant they had to see more of eachother. As they approached the shore, Monroe could hardly look, this was absolutely the most embarassing thing that had ever happened to her. When they were almost there, several pae jumped into the water to pull the boat the rest of the way to shore. And there was her dad standing over her. She had never really seen him angry before, it wasn't a look that suited him well. Dysmas was as embarrassed as Monroe was, if not more. As the chief's son, there was a certain manner in which they were supposed to conduct themselves, and having his daughter steal a boat was not part of this manner. Dysmas did not recognize the boy, if he had been a member of the village, Dysmas would have at the very least recognized him. He didn't even know what to say right now, especially with quite a few looking on. Monroe didn't give him a chance to speak up, she knew she needed to start talking, and quick. "I'm sorry Dad, no one was using it, and the other boats were already gone for the day, so I thought it would be okay if I showed... Saber... What it was like to go out on the water." Monroe spoke quickly, not giving anyone else the chance to interrupt her. She hopped off the boat, looking back at Saber. Normally, she would have offered him a hand to help him out of the boat, but thought it was better not to under the present circumstances. "Monroe..." He needed to speak very carefully, contain his anger, and be careful of his words. "You've never been out on a boat... This was an incredibly dangerous and reckless thing you have done, on top of the trouble you have caused for the village." His voice sounded tense, but overall he did a good job keeping things collected. Dysmas turned to Saber, "You might want to head home... Monroe won't be coming back out tonight." Dysmas turned back to Monroe again. "Home." He said sternly, waiting for her to take her leave before following her. "Bye..." She said solemnly to Saber. She hoped that he came back and that this hadn't scared him off. He did say that he owed her though, so there was still hope.
