There was shame. So much shame. While she didn't give up Corey's name exactly---so Sergei would have to go through the hassle of actually locating the right person once he got there---she still felt bad. She had given up a wee bit of information.
Burning shame. At least her cheeks weren't quite as red, and she could breathe a bit better. She wanted to melt in her chair, especially after that look he had.
That darn smug look that made her stomach flutter---
Olga pressed her hands into her face and held them there for a long while, making a sound that passed for an acknowledgement to check the roast. She also wanted to shoot back that
he wasn't her dad and couldn't tell her to finish homework before she left---she was an adult--- But she also felt like the fact he told her that she better finish her homework before leaving was kinda nice.
Maybe he cared.
