       "That's up to you, little one." The woman looked down towards him. "How you use your ability is up to you. Some choose to ignore it, others use it to bring peace or closure among this world and the next." Perhaps he did remember some things about their earlier conversation. But it still wouldn't be wise to push it. When the subject of the gods was brought up, her interest was piqued. Weird? That's a rather odd way to put it. "Weird? I don't know if I'd put it like that.. Hmm.. Think of it this way," The goddess began. "When a mother cow gives birth to a calf, what happens immediately when the calf is born? It stands up on its own two feet. The mother only helps the calf up if it hasn't tried to move several seconds afterwords." An odd analogy, but she had a point. "In fact, the only thing the mother does during their time together is teach it how to survive. Most of its interactions and experiences are learned away from home. And eventually, that calf leaves the comfort of its mother and goes about its life like she never existed." Audra looked out the window once more. "Do you understand now? If the mother intervened when she wasn't suppose to throughout the infant's life, then that calf would never learn to fend for itself." She laid a soft hand on his shoulder. "The gods hear you, and they do love you, but the most they can do is guide you in the right direction and hope you'll take advantage of the chances they give you. If you overlook those chances, then you only have yourself to blame." A soft sigh escaped her lips.
"We can't do everything for you."

Would you know anything about a khakkara hidden somewhere on school grounds? It's a staff used by Zen Buddhist monks....
