"Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere."

It was impressive how some humans could move in near silence. Be they ninjas, spies... or just collectors who'd learned the best way to acquire their favorite merchandise without alerting competitors. If Argyle turned around, he'd see what could only be classified as a nerd. Slicked-back hair, coke-bottle glasses, a buttoned-down shirt that didn't quite fit, and a man who hadn't learned what "personal space" was. He was very close to the young butler-- probably closer than was approriate. "Hiiiiii," he said again in that same breathy voice. "I'm l-l-looking for a CD... a vintage one, might not even work." He tilted his head to the side, panting heavily with nerves and exertion. Admittedly, this collector didn't like being in Ostglass; he was actually quite nervous and afraid. But he did what he must... for love. And love would lead the way.

"You're a fan of her too, right? The Princess of Pokemon?" He pulled out a poster from his backpack and brandished it at the boy. it bore a picture of a young woman clad in a rather cute spotted dress. The same idol that was on the CDs he'd found in the crater area of the island! It was a concidence of terrifying proportions. Well, almost as terrifying as the collector before him. "I saw an ad online that someone was coming to sell one of her CDs here... is it you? I can sense it... fans of her can always sense each other." There was an insane glint in his eyes; this was a desperate name. "Please... please give it to me. I can give you compensation... o-o-or I can make you do it." His hands went to his belt, resting on a Pokeball there. Unsurprisingly, there was a sticker of the aforementioned idol on the rim. "Is it you?"

Argyle would suppress a shudder at the man's arrival, but arch a brow at his....proposition. No that was a terrible word and shouldn't be used anywhere NEAR this man in the presence of someone under the age of consent. Not like anyone over the age was liable to.....never-mind. Still he wondered what sort of ability allowed one to sense CD's of all things. Wait....hadn't he....

A sly smile crossed the boy's lips as he turned around "Perhaps I am, and perhaps I'm not. That all depends on this so called compensation. Rare finds don't come cheaply after all" The boy said, shrewdly producing only one of the CD's in his hand, held carefully of course. Oh true he had two, and was more than willing to part with it, but when dealing with rabid fanboys you never revealed your entire hand.

">Better nerds than you have tried to make us do things sweatpants, and it did not end well for them<" Jekyll croaked pointedly.

Bio:The story of how Argyle met Jekyll is a bit of an odd one. After purchasing a bulk shipment of skin rejuvenating mud from Sinnoh's Great Marsh (Guarnteed to take twenty years off your appearance!), Mistress Rosevelt had set aside some time for a fully immersive experience with the product, during which she received quite the surprise. It would seem the mud had come with stowaway in the form of an egg. Unfortunately it was about this same time the egg decided to hatch, splattering the aristocratic woman with muck and eggshell. After a shriek and shrill cry for the nearest Argyle to attend her, Verde arrived and was immediately ordered to dispose of the creature, although not before cleaning up the mess it had created. Whispering a snide remark just below his breath, both Mistress and Argyle were in for a surprise when the newly born Croagunk began to snicker devilishly. It seemed the Poison-type had heard the boy, and shared his sense of humor. Amused by this fact the young Butler then went about the task of convincing Mistress Rosevelt that the Croagunk would be quite useful in his regular duties, allowing him to make the manor to "shine as radiantly as you do Mistress Rosevelt". Little more in the way of convincing was required on the boy's part, and so he obtained his first and for the time being only Pokemon.

Since then Jekyll has proven a good match for Argyle, frequently snickering at the boy's comments be they made aloud, or simply implied. Unlike Argyle however Jekyll does nothing to hide his wicked nature, frequently mocking others quite openly and then laughing about it. Though cruel he is not crude, and more than willingly to amuse himself by catching the enemy off guard.

The collector jumped back in surprise before leaning forward to once again be far too close to Argyle. His face was less than an inch away from Argyle's hand as he stared at the CD. Panting heavily, he gazed upon the CD as if enraptured. "The... t-t-the second EP!" he gasped breathily. He adjusted his glasses, staring. "Hrmm... but it looks a little cracked... dunno if it would even play." He held his pose for a minute more, looking as though he might bite off Argyle's hand, but pulled back. With great effort, he reached deep into his fanny pack, and pulled out a fistful of dollars. "Factoring in the condition of the item in question along with it's rarity... I can offer you User Image500. A-and if you don't accept..." The collector was doing his very best to look menancing, but given his demenor, he mostly looked like he was about to pass out. Still, a battle was a battle, and it wasn't like Argyle could get past him; they were packed into the aisles tightly.

Argyle would lift his arched brow further. It wasn't much really, but beggars couldn't be choosers. Besides it was still more than he had, and there was always opportunity to use the second CD in alternative transactions. Or maybe to annoy someone. Both could be worth while if properly timed.

Giving a curt nod of his head, Argyle would hold out the CD "DeaL" He would of course refrain from the customary handshake. No telling WHAT this guy had done with those recently.

Jekyll would of course hold out a hand in order to accept payment. With a toxic slime coated body, he didn't exactly care what he made contact with most days.

"Ohmigosh!" The collector's eyes lit up from behind the thick glass of his spectacles. "Y-you're really going to...? Oh man, oh man!" As if worried Argyle would change his mind, the collector snatched the CD out as quickly as he could, clutching it to his chest. He wrapped his arms around the CD, humming a merry little tune and apparently unaware that he was cracking the CD further. For a moment, he was lost in blissful contentment... before realizing he probably needed to pay the piper. "R-right... here you go." He placed the wad of money in the Croagunk's hand before waddling away, disappearing into the thick aisles.

[Argyle gained 500 Pokedollars!]

It was a victory! But not a victory he'd be able to savor for long... unbeknownst to him, an Abra had been watching the exchange. She'd been uncertain if she should interrupt, but it seemed the little moppet had things under control. Which meant... DIVEBOMB! The Abra leapt from her perch, landing right on Argyle's head. In a flicker of stars and white light, he'd disappear...

In a flash Argyle went from dusting sand of a young lady, to sweeping a bunch of feathers through the air. Obviously nobody had ever bothered to teach the Abras proper etiquette when abducting someone. Actually was there proper etiquette for such a scenario? He'd need to look into this....a Butler need always conduct himself properly after all.

Well he supposed since he was back in this store....the name of which he couldn't be bothered to recall...he might as well acquire...whatever it was he was here for. It would come to him. If all else failed he could probbly just mention the name of the man who would sent him. Seeing as this was Academy business it seemed unlikely he was the first such person to wander in here.

"I-is that..." Apparently, Argyle was simply a magnet for some of the more... enthusiastic members of the Pokemon community. He'd be face with another nerd, this one female. Short and chubby, with thick glasses, and a mess of dirty blonde hair back in a braid, she was staring at Argyle, dumbstruck. Or rather, something of his-- Jekyll. "A non-shiny Croagunk! Oh man, I've only seen those in books! You we gotta fight, I need to see one in combat." Not giving the trainer a time to respond, she released a Pokemon... a shiny.

In a burst of sparkles, a Chespin landed on the floor. She spun in a circle, showing off for her perceived audience. She was one of the most beautiful creatures in the world, after all~ How lucky these plain youths were to get to gaze upon her ruddy beauty! For she could even light up the drabbest stage. The cheeky grass-type winked up at Argyle as she struck what she viewed as a "battle-ready" pose-- balanced on one foot, the other point out behind her, and her arms spread wide.

Argyle arched a brow at the latest arrival on the scene. My he did attract the weird ones didn't he....both person and Pokemon. Reaching up to scratch his hair and then smooth it out, the boy would shrug, Well he had been dissatisfied with how his last two confrontations had ended, so he supposed he'd asked for this in a way. Though the reason for the conflict sounded absurd, the boy would gesture for his Croagunk to get down before bowing "I'd be delighted."

">Oh sure you get to talk to the girl and I get stuck with the russet rat<" The Croagunk complained as he dropped to the floor. Giving his opponent a once over, the frog would cross his arms, his expression screaming 'unimpressed'. ">Would you mind sparkling a little less? You're hard enough to look at without the glitter bomb.<"

"O-oh!" The girl stared Argyle, surprised at his decorum. Right, trainers were supposed to introduce themselves! She straightened her posture, causing her back to crack in the surprise. With a somewhat nervous grin, she'd remark, "You can call me the Not-Shiny Collector! And good luck in the fight!"

>'Cause you're going need it,< the Chespin remarked, giving Jekyll a wink. She tittered, a laugh about as glittery as her own body. >Oh my... playing hard to get, are we? Don't be shy, darling~ There's enough room in my heart to sparkle for you too.< She'd spin and pull back, leaping away from the Croagunk as she enticed him closer.

"Charmed I'm sure" Argyle stated dryly, his voice hinting at a bit of skepticism. Not-Shiny Collector? Didn't that technically make her a perfectly normal trainer?....and wasn't this incredibly contradictory to the Pokemon she was using against him? It was like if he walked into the room calling himself the Not-Butler and then proceeded to clean and wait on the nobles.

Jekyll on the otherhand would be too busy staring at their competition, arms crossed as he looked from the Chespin to it's trainer. Back and forth...back and forth. After several minutes of this the Croagunk would actually turn his back on the competition and remark ">Can I fight the trainer instead? At least then I'd have something worth looking at.<"

"Jekyll, use Mud-slap" Would be Argyle's reply. He couldn't understand Jekyll of course, but he could see the Croagunk wasn't a fan of getting near the Chespin. This wouldn't be tat effective mind, but it had other advantages.

">Also good!<" The Croagunk responded, visibly perking up the idea. Bending over the Poison-type would lick the floor, followed by a series of unpleasant sounds as he drew something up from some organ deep inside of himself. Swishing it around in his mouth for a moment after, Jekyll would spit a large oozing glob of pure horror into his hand. Then, grinning from cheek sack to cheek sack would declare ">Hold still<" And lob the gunk it what would likely be a slap to the Chespin's pride....if it hit.

The girl's eyes lit up; she'd completely missed the sarcasm in Argyle's voice. He seemed like a nice trainer, particularly for one in Ostglass! She'd give him a good, honorable fight. "Next, use Spikes!"

>Oh, my~< There was an odd, breathy note to the Chespin's voice. >Of course a handsome frog like you is good with his tongue!< She'd someone completely missed that he'd attacked her... or rather, the attack missed her entirely. She threw her head back, bringing her hand to her mouth, and laughed. >I shall prepare our dance floor!< she trilled, giving another spin, and throwing even more sparkles in the air! Wait. No. Those were glittery little Spikes.

">You worry me....<" Jekyll croaked as he quirked his bulging eyes. He was almost concerned how this Chespin would have taken his ooze if it HAD hit her in the face.

Argyle in the meantime was massaging his brow. He didn't know what this Chespin was saying, but he could tell by that laugh of her's that he was probably better off for it. "Jekyll, give this thing a headache before I get one" An odd sounding order, but one which made perfect sense to the Croagunk.

">Oh goodie~<" Jekyll croaked, perking up yet again as he began bounding forward ">Time to see if your skull is as thick as it seems!<" The next second he would shoot forward on his springy limbs, aiming to strike her across the brow with his own. It was time for a Headbutt!

(17-1)+(15-11) = 20 DMG! Chespin is at 2 HP! Chespin flinched!

The Not-Shiny Collector cringed; Jekyll's attack landed good and hard. Her Chespin couldn't help flinching in pain, which left her open for another assault. Still, this was a battle, and she knew the risks! Besides, it wouldn't do any good to be salty. "N-nice hit!" she complimented Argyle before turning her attention to the Chespin. "Just try and protect yourself, okay?"

>Ohohoho... running all cold and hot, aren't you?< Even with her head in her paws and almost doubled-over, the Chespin's playful nature couldn't be held back. She gave him a playful wink, and decided to go with the pain. Rolling off her toes, she curled into a ball and did her best to roll away.

Yet as the Chespin rolled away, Argyle and Jekyll saw something their opponent did not. An almost predatory grin would spread across the child's features as he looked to Jekyll "Two points. Five if you can get it off the shelf."

">Will you give me seven if I can hit the lights?<" Jekyll asked, practically bouncing as he looked back at his trainer. For a brief second the grin of boy and Pokemon matched perfectly, and the next....Jekyll was off!

Racing up to his opponent, the Croagunk would swing his leg back as he prepared for the kickoff. This was it, a kick to Astonish the crowd!

(13-12)+(15-11) = 5 DMG! Chespin is at -3 HP!

The Not-Shiny Collector whistled, clearly impressed. "Wow, that was awesome! Non-shiny Pokemon are truly superior, aren't they?" She looked down at her Chespin sadly, kneeling and scooping her up. To her credit, she didn't look disappointed; it might have been a short battle, but she'd gotten to see a not-shiny in action! She dug around in her purse, scooping out a fistful of coins and placing them next to Argyle. "Here you go! Have fun in Ostglass, mister." And with that, she was off, leaving the Longinus child to continue further.

Argyle gains 101 Gold!

Jekyll gains a boosted 152 EXP! 284/175 -> 109/200! Jekyll is level 7!
