The Bone Beetle looked curiously onward as the events unfolded around it. The man before him was a formidable warrior, to be sure. He was clearly taking this new baiter under his wing and hoping to show her the value of a good fight and training, and all that garbage. It was a good thing, of course, to help train your peers, but they had managed to walk into the wrong place at the wrong time, and if they thought that they were going to get out of this place with their lives, they were absolutely crazy. The Bone Beetle wasn't even in the mood for killing baiters anymore. He had been tired. That's why he came to the oasis in the first place! But these asshats had to come and ******** it all up. Well, the Bone Beetle wasn't going to worry too much about their mistakes. It was their funeral, and they would have to deal with the consequences of their actions. For now, it just had to worry about actually landing hits on the bastards. The half-naked man ducked and launched a defensive punch that shot the attack off target, as he had been doing regularly. Then, with the second attack that the Beetle launched toward it, the man actually jumped up and sat on the weapon that the beetle was using. He actually SAT on the spike that the Bone Beetle was trying to kill him with. Moments later, the Light Racer was zipping in to attack the man as well--blasting into him and attempting to attack his throat, though the half-naked man was able to actually avoid all of the attacks that the Light Racer was throwing at him. Using blasts of sand and other tricks to blind the thing. But, even as the man was using his flashy combat style to distract the Light Racer, the woman attacked, jumping back into the fray and swinging that sword at the Bone Beetle's torso. The A.I. narrowed its eyes and it slashed its spiked arm down to clash with the sword. It easily overpowered her strike, pushing it off to the side and nullifying the force with ease.
As the sands dropped and the dust cleared, Darka was standing there unharmed. He launched himself toward the Light Racer in all of the confusion and threw a strike towards the A.I.'s head, but the Bone Beetle had no time to look at whether or not he had landed the blow or not, instead, the Beetle just charged in, knowing that it had to land attacks on this p***k before it was too late. A Baiter could turn a fight around in no time--but this guy, they didn't even know all the tricks that he might have up his sleeve. He could be even more dangerous and unpredictable. The Bone Beetle charged in, cocking back the spiked arm and then hurling it forward, aiming to skewer the man through the throat. Before the Beetle could yank back the spike, however, it wasted no time in its second attack, throwing a vicious punch toward Darka's face immediately after stabbing with the opposite arm. This way, with the two quick successive strikes, the Bone Beetle was sure that the man would not be able to avoid all of the damage coming his way.

The Light Racer was confident of its skill, and given the man's performance so far in the battle, as time wore on, the Light Racer was almost positive that it could manage to land at least one hit on him and add to the damage that had started to build against him. However, even with the help of the Bone Beetle, the man was somehow able to get by without a single scratch this time. He expertly avoided the Bone Beetle's straightforward method of attacking, even riling up the enemy by sitting on his weapon and mocking him as he did so. If the Bone Beetle let that sort of thing get to him, he was going to end up dead...though, at the same time, they had very little to worry about at this point. The humans they were fighting, after all, were weak. They were fresh out of the academy weak, and they knew it just as well as the A.I. did. nobody was trying to fool themselves into believing that they were anything more than ants trying to escape the confines of futility. These ants could grow into something more bothersome, sure, but for now...ants they would remain. As the first attack came in toward Darka, the man was able to turn himself sideways and palm-strike the attack away from his throat--a smart move to be sure. The second attack was avoided just as cleverly, by slamming a hand into the dirt and exploding it upward to create a sand-screen. In the confusion, Darka was able to escape, and as the Light Racer attempted to attack the third time, the sand was still not fully cleared, and the man was able to maneuver away before the Light Racer's attack had the chance to land.
It was, however, a pointless attempt as the man threw another punch toward the Light Racer's head. They didn't seem to realize how outclassed they were, and it was about time that they were shown. The Light Racer took a sharp step backwards, lurching away from the man and letting the punch scoop through the air harmlessly before the Light Racer blasted into motion. The first target was the man's kneecap. The Light Racer shot a vicious punch toward the man's left kneecap, aiming to cripple him and keep him from moving around so fast in the future. The Light Racer just wanted to end this thing and move on. The Light Racer just wanted to relax for christ sakes. As soon as it had thrown the punch toward the man's knee, the Light Racer switched it up and the tail came lashing forward, over the Light Racer's shoulder and angled downward toward the man's shoulder. If it landed, it would stab deep down into the shoulder and hopefully make its way through to the man's heart. There was no time to dally--it was time to kill him and be done with it. The last strike was just as savage as the Light Racer jumped into the air and allowed its wings to carry it upward for a few meters before it turned around and dive-bombed back downward toward Darka, hoping to land a punch on the top of the man's head and crack his skull.

Darka could feel the anger rising in the enemies around him. He could feel their frustration as he dodged and avoided their strikes. It was especially obvious when he had landed on the Bone Beetle's lance-like protrusion and mocked him. Of course he did not like that. But, at the end of the day, it was working. Mocking the Beetle got it riled up and then as it swung in to attack, it used anger-driven methods that Darka had already observed and prepared for. The Beetle would predictably get more aggressive, and then it would try to attack in a surprising way--and so Darka prepared himself for a shift in the approach of the Bone Beetle. It was not in the first attack, as the first attack followed the same formula as the rest of them, which meant that it would be coming in the second strike. The first attack that came, Darka merely responded in the same way that he had done the previous times and struck out with his bare fist, knocking aside the spike with ease. However, as he was knocking away the spike, the damn Beetle was already throwing a second attack. The punch was aimed to knock some sense into him--it would never have been strong enough, but it was obviously meant to talk to him--to make him uneasy and put all his attention back into the fight at hand. But even then, as the punch came forward, Darka was able to actually catch the punch inside of his own hand, grasping the Bone Beetles hand in his own and smiling at the enemy, "You know, you've got incredibly dry hands, friend. You need some work. Maybe dip them in that Oasis for a while and just relax. We could always call this battle a draw and come back to it another time, yeah?" The Beetle laughed as it hopped backwards and narrowed its eyes. <******** you, human. You should have thought more before coming here in the first place. You're not leaving here with your head."
As they spoke, the Light Racer was already blasting in, and the first strike, aiming a punch at Darka's kneecap, was flying toward him before he even knew what to do about it. Immediately he threw his weight backwards so that he would fall back on his a**, but he simultaneously threw his foot up in a kick that landed on the Light Racer's wrist and sent the punch flying off point and missing completely. The second attack, as Darka was getting back up to his feet was very shortly after, and the thing's tail went lashing through the air once again, aiming for his shoulder in an attempt to drive the tail downward and spear it into his heart. However, Darka was able to throw his body to the side once again, before he had even stood up. He tossed himself to the side and rolled over in the sand, getting out of the way of the Light Racer before finally getting fully to his feet before the Racer was flying back toward him. Darka had lost sight of it for a moment, but when he heard the beating of wings, he looked to the sky and saw the A.I. coming. Darka immediately jumped backwards--the A.I. missing once again, landing the punch on the sand instead of the man's head. However, Darka did not wait for the Light Racer to gain his bearings, as he knew that a swift counterattack was often the only way to deal with such quick enemies. He immediately kicked dirt into the air and then the dirt froze in mid air before a few motions from Darka's hands shaped the sand into a spike that he instantly shot forward toward the Light Racer's chest.

This was borderline suicidal and yet they continued. Why? Why would they do such a thing? It was good training and good for her to remember this sense of a**-whooping but why? They could run. Was it not about that? Was it about pride? Why did they not stop? They kept swinging and missing or ducking and getting stabbed. This was pointless, and yet she wouldn't stop swinging. This was real world nonsense, like graduating college all over again. The world was giving her another grim reminder of how weak she was. Darka was very impressive, a man who should join the fight for the B.A.I.T.O.R's and yet...SHe knew she couldn't convince him. She also felt dread that this man might not make it. She had doomed him for a mission. The bone beetle deflected her attack, of course it had. She was sent flying back and Darka charged in. "Noooo!" She shrieked as she flew across the sand. Her heart flew to her throat and for a moment, she went deaf. This was not typical deafness, more she couldn't hear over the sound of her own heart. The thumps were getting louder and she felt she might feint due to the spike in her breathing levels. Her visor glowed, showing her vitals and all she could do was panic. Move. Fight. Come on. What did you come here for? She thought as her body broke into a spazz. A panic attack in battle? How could she?
Is it worth it? Was it all worth it? I'm going to die on my first mission...I'm...I'm going to die. I...I died a long time ago. She thought to herself as her visor filled with the image of the A.I she had gained in the academy. And what took that young girls place will never die. She thought as an old image of her childlike self came into play. The panic began to die down. her vitals started to become more stable and she rose from the sand. They all came for Darka, the stupid light racer. She wanted that creature's speed. She wanted to move like the wind and strike like lightning...No, she wanted to strike like light itself. She took off, dashing among the sands. Sand flew everywhere, her own storm as she went to block the light racers stab. She aimed to block the stab, slashing at the tail when it came at Darka. She was still shaking, her vitals spiking in all different directions. "We aren't going out like this Darka!" She yelled as she went to parry the stab at Darka's heart. When it dive bombed, she jumped forward, jumping up to meet the creature with a slash. "I'm not leaving without one of you getting cut!" She yelled as she met the light racer mid way. She knew it wasn't going to go well...She knew and yet she smiled. Maybe it would throw the A.I off...Maybe she had thrown herself off. It didn't matter. She had made her choice. It was time to see how it went.

Turn 4
The Bone Beetle had to admit--this was getting a little tiresome. It wasn't going to let it slow it down yet, but soon enough...well, it wouldn't be able to help it. The man was dancing around them like a fool, and the woman was...well, she was trying her damn best. She wasn't able to land any hits, so for now the A.I. really didn't have a reason to worry about her all too much. But, as the Bone Beetle had attacked the man, he had actually managed to not only dodge the first strike with his usual, strange, punches, but he had managed to actually catch the Bone Beetle's fist, fully. The man was able to just snatch it out of the air and stop it like it was nothing...was the Bone Beetle really this weak? It worried it that it was so damn incapable of dealing damage to this man, and it was beginning to infuriate it to a degree. It could imagine that the Light Racer was feeling a very similar frustration after having all of her attacks blocked as well. The man commented on the Bone Beetles dry hands, and it spat venom back at the man. He was being a ******** joker in the middle of a battle...who had time to jest in the middle of a damn battle for your life? There was, however, no time to try to figure this man out. He needed to end him, not get to know him. If he wanted to jest and act the fool while they were battling like this, then that was his own prerogative. As the Light Racer unleashed her flurry of blows, she was denied by the man, having him relatively easily deflect those blows, and then he launched into action, utilizing his control over the sands to shape a spike that he launched toward the Light Racer's chest.
It was going to be a hell of a fight--the Bone Beetle wondered just how much longer it would last, at the end of the day. It wouldn't be long. The enemies just wouldn't be able to hold up their defenses--though, the Bone Beetle had to admit that they had put up a pretty good attempt. The Bone Beetle then launched itself into the fray--knowing that it couldn't merely stand around watching all day. It entered from Slypner's side, aiming to swing in from the woman's blind spot. She was the baiter here--she was the one who was being escorted on this mission. Sure, the other one was the dangerous one, but she was an easier target. They had been focusing on the man, but they needed to focus on the woman first--eliminate her and then move on to the man afterward, when he had no support. The Bone Beetle blasted forward, moving directly for Slypner and stabbing his bone-like spear toward her ribs, attempting to drive it through her and destroy her internal organs. Immediately after, it swung itself around the front of the woman, crouching low and pushing up from the ground, jumping into an uppercut into the woman's stomach--hoping that it would land clean. It then stopped and swung the spike hard at her legs, trying to sweep them out from under her, though this movement would do little to no actual damage, afterward it would then drive its spear down in a rapid stab to try to pierce her on the way down from the trip. All in all, the woman was slow and full of openings, the Bone Beetle did not need to plan all of its movements, it instead just released strike after strike toward her. She would know what it was to fight the A.I. She would know what it was to know fear.

As the Light Racer swooped in for its attacks, it met heavy resistance from the man who it was assaulting--finding that the man was far more capable than she had realized in the beginning of their fight. He was quite the warrior for a man who wasn't even a baiter. As the Light Racer blasted in and struck toward the man's knee, toward his shoulder, flying around him and unleashing blow after blow, he was able to step around her, dodging and hurling his body this way and that to avoid the attacks. But, this time it was going to be different. This time it didn't matter if the man was able to dodge all of the attacks--because they could take away the only way that he had to truly defeat the A.I.. If he was not a baiter, he would not be able to continue their fight if the baiter was dead...how had they been so stupid as to not think of this earlier? But there was little precious time to waste on thinking about it as Darka was launching into a full-blown attack, firing the spike of sand toward it, but as he did this, the Light Racer blinked to the side, flashing in an instant as the man attacked and avoiding the blow cleanly. Then, as it had finished avoiding the man's strike, the female baiter zoomed in toward it, cutting down at the chest of the Light Racer, though the A.I. merely swung its fist down and clobbered the blow to the side, treating the blade as if Slypner had been swinging a wet sock at it.
To be honest, the Light Racer felt almost stupid having the Bone Beetle think of it first--attacking the woman before worrying about this difficult man--as the Beetle was actually targeting the woman before she could do anything. If he was going to target the woman, the Light Racer knew it would have to keep the man busy--if he was kept busy, he wouldn't be able to stop them from taking the girl out. The Light Racer leapt to life, streaming toward Darka as soon as it had finished blocking Slypner's attack. "He's not going to be able to protect her...this is our battle--our victory." The first strike was a clawed swipe aimed for his throat--hoping to cut it open and bleed the man dry in an instant. But as it flew past, it turned on a dime, flying back toward the man's rear and shooting its tail forward toward the man's heart--aiming to drive the tail through his back and chest and right out the front of him. But, it did not wait to see the result before it continued its assault, cocking back its fist and shooting a savage punch toward the back of the man's head. It was time for the two A.I. to get a little peace and quiet. It was time for them to rest at their oasis, and for these pesky humans to leave them to it. It was no longer time to drag this battle out. They were going to win it, and they were going to do it right away.

Darka watched with relative horror as the b*****d Light Racer was able to completely avoid its attack once again--he couldn't hit the buggers. They were just too much more overwhelmingly powerful than they were. They just couldn't win...he could see that now as they fought. Darka had been selfish to try to fight these brutes alongside the new baiter. She had likely just gotten out of her entrance, and she was being thrown, unprepared into a battle that was far too difficult for her to come out on top of. But...that was okay...it wasn't her fault. It was his fault for agreeing to take her here...it was his fault for not thinking ahead better and being prepared for the fight that he would face. It was not only her who was too weak, but he was also too weak to face these enemies. They, together, were not strong enough to gain the information that he desired--the reports he wanted to create on the wandering oasis...they would have to wait. He knew of small aspects, but he had no solid proof--it was nothing her could replicate or explain to people properly. He would have to capture the device that had created this oasis--the thing that generated it would have to be captured so that he could prove what it was--why it did what it did. With this, he would be able to complete his investigation. However, first, he had to survive this encounter, and after that, he would have to come back again some other time--when he was strong enough to face the horrors that he now knew might await him there.
He knew it was real--that was all that mattered. He knew that this place he had envisioned for years was truly, honestly, real. He grinned as he looked to Slypner, but as he looked to her, the Light Racer flashed in toward him. He tried to block it, but he was too slow at lifting his arms and the beast cut across his neck with its claws. It opened his neck easily, blood beginning to cascade from the wound--the p***k had missed the main artery, but the blood still poured from his neck. As it came back in for its second attack toward his back, Darka immediately slammed his foot into the sand and shooting it up behind him, creating a wall that caught the thing's strike with its tail before it could reach him. Darka desperately wanted to get to Slypner, knowing that the Bone Beetle was headed toward her, but he could do nothing. "Be careful, Slypner! I'm sorry, I can't get to you! I think, sadly, we've lost this one...I am sorry I wasn't better equipped for this mission. I shouldn't have brought you into this...but...it's been damn fun." He shouted with a laugh as he rolled away from the wall that had blocked the Light Racer's attacks. "I told you that I couldn't stay when things got too crazy...if they did...because I am not a baiter. I don't get to respawn. Well...let's hope that it doesn't come to that, yeah?" He stated with a smirk, determination in his eyes. He would not run like this...he would stay and defend as long as he could. He immediately ran forward and slammed his fist into the wall he had raised, shattering the stone and sending the pieces flying through the air toward the Light Racer--hoping one of them might hit the b*****d.
