When I was 6, I slipped on the stage wearing my gingerbread costume in Hansel and Gretel XD
Um... I perform at a small theater with a stage that is low enough to the ground that you can jump off. So I normally wear sneakers to rehearsal, but one day I wore jazz shoes and jumped off. Ouch. No shock absorption. *died* And I already had some blisters crying
Now, actual accidents... pieces of the back drop started falling off... the mics stopped working... um... lots of things.

This is another funny little accident from Beauty and the Beast:
Halfway through the opening song "Belle" Lefou and Gaston come on. You hear a gunshot and then Lefou runs onstage with a sack (followed by Gaston); in our production, a mechanism released a stuffed bird and Lefou had to catch it in his sack, after which he would deliver the line, "Wow, you never miss a shot Gaston! You're the greatest hunter in the whole world!"
All the techies would watch this part with considerable apprehension every night because the release mechanism was really picky. One night, it didn't release the bird and I could see across the stage to where my friend was frantically pushing the button to get it to go, but it still didn't work. After a pause, Lefou just went on and said the line, "Wow, you never miss a shot Gaston!" The crowd laughed along thinking that was the joke! So I guess it turned out fine.

You had a fancy mechanism to launch the bird? We just had someone chuck it out from backstage (usually it was Darin, the director/Beast). Our duck was fun, cause it was actually a dog toy from Target. When you squeezed it, it made a sound that was almost, but not quite, entirely unlike a duck's quack.

I've had to be evacuated due to threat of fire twice.
The first time some piece of equipment heated up backstage and set off the fire alarm. If there had been a fire we all would have died as not everyone knew how to get out and the firefighters never showed up. We were doing Les Mis and we were all joking that as we stood outside the theatre at 8pm in costume that we looked like "the amish setting fire to things.
The second time was when my drama club rehersed in our brand new auditorium and the lights were brand new as well. They had some type of grease on them or soemthing that started heating up and smoking. So we all freaked out pretty bad, but nothing too awful happened.

That was the original plan, but we have a robotics genius; he designed a remote-control mechanism for both the bird and the rose's petals, which glowed/wilted/dropped on command. 3nodding He's my hero.

That's pretty sweet about the rose. I have no idea what we did for ours. I never saw it. I have a video of the show, perhaps I should watch it one of these days.... Anyway, Yay for robotics when they work. Like our confetti cannons. At the very end, during the finale, when we hit that final chord ("...Beauty and the Beast. AhhhhAhhhAAaaaa!) the confetti cannons went off.....usually. Some nights only 1 went off. Hehe. Everyone loves changing out of their costumes and pulling confetti out of their bosoms. xd Poor Barb had to sweep up the confetti after every show and stuff it back in the cannons. You can imagine how much fun that can be in an outdoor theatre.

Gah, confetti nightmare! eek Although that does sound like a cool effect...I don't fancy being the one to pick it all up, but it sounds awesome.
We had ISSUES with our smoke machines. We used two during the prologue and one at the end of the battle scene for all the Beast's transformations. Aside from all of us getting second-hand-smoke cancer some day, they were so effing finicky! I'm NEVER going to use those again. (watch, I'll have to use them for my current show)

Oh god smoke machines. Boy does that bring back memories. Brigadoon, summer of '02. When the show first starts it's supposed to be a bit foggy....yeahh....Lets just say some nights Tony got a little fog-happy. The first part of the show was really effin misty. Which was always fun, considering how dangerous our set was, with all the ramps and tree stumps...that was a fun set.
Heh. If there's one smell from the theatre I'll never forget, it's the smell of fog. xp Oh, the dreaded hiss of a fog machine.

Plus everyone goes panicky when the don't work. xp But yeah, they smell like someone set fire to rubber or something. I DEFINITELY don't miss that particular delicate fragrance.

We had a girl who was supposed to be playing a dancer/prostitute dancing on a table and the guy she was singing to was supposed to pick her up and carry her off but he dropped her XD The next night she fell down the stair while ascending out staircase.
We had another actress during a different show run into a stage weight back stage and break at least one toe. Needless to say, we put glow-in-the-dark tape on all our stage weights after that.
We had another kid completely drop our sound board ><
I've stepped in paint multiple times andtracked it all over the set/room I'm painting in as well....
Appernerly all the theatre geeks I know are really accident prone eek
