Anabel looked where Lily was indicating and nodded. "Yeah, I know them," she said, and then bit her lip. "You can go say hi if you like... I'm not really well-liked." Lily was a senshi, if she was remembering correctly, so she'd been out sick that day (so to speak). "And like I said, I'd rather not give up my seat."

Lily did seem to be hinting that they had something in common besides magical secret identities, however. "I'm sorry to hear you've been having a rough time. I know how that can be."

She trailed off - one of the overdressed weirdos had caught her eye. Anabel frowned severely. Something Lily had said was setting off alarm bells for her - it was Destiny City, indeed. "Over there," she whispered. "Purple shorts, color coordinated combat boots, and unseasonable hoodie. I think I've fought him before. You don't think..."

The train did seem to be awfully late.

"Oh, for ******** sake," said Anabel.

Caramel casually flipped a page in her magazine and then after a little bit flipped another one, however she wasn't really reading the contents.

To be honest she hated girly magazines like the one she had picked up and she kind of resented the money she had shelled out on buying it... But it at least seemed to be doing the trick.

Flip.

Flip.

And at least she wasn't feigning her boredom.

Flip.

Flip.

Although she did wish that it wasn't quite so warm because she was seriously sweltering and it was just as well that her mascara was of the waterproof variety because otherwise she was sure that it would have started running.

Flip.

Flip.

She could sense other Negaverse auras around her - the comforting wild dark strength of not one but two Generals and the strong, but not quite so strong strength of a few Captains. There had been auras that had felt about the same strength as hers - fellow Lieutenants.

Still no pesky White Moon auras though which was good - very good.

Although it did absolutely nothing for her boredom... And then she frowned as she spotted movement in the direction of the office in the form of what appeared to be an 'off-duty officer' and a kid.

Powered up as she was, however, she knew that they were both Captains.

She tried to watch them surreptitiously in between page flicks of the magazine, a slight frown on her face as a part of her wondered if the movement meant that further orders would shortly be forthcoming.

Aquamarine's eyes were trailing suspiciously after Jet and Aurostibite when Seraphinite made his approach. Leveling him with a firm glare, Aquamarine considered his choices—either play along like an idiot or cut the act short.

Considering his mood, Aquamarine didn't really want to do anything that would make him feel like more of an idiot than the Negaverse already made him feel.

“Cut the crap,” he said. He tightened the fold of his arms over his chest in his annoyance.

“Shouldn't you be off making sure Jet doesn't get himself into trouble?”

He felt a bit like a babysitter himself most days, which just made him even angrier about Jet's promotion. Why should Jet be rewarded when it was Aquamarine and Seraphinite who kept him from being seriously maimed or killed in his efforts to defeat as many Senshi and Knights as possible?

“Looks like he and Aurostibite aren't trying too hard not to bring attention to themselves,” he said, motioning with a jerk of his head toward the two Captains. “If anyone's going to blow our cover, it's going to be them.”

Paris was too distracted by her phone, Chris, and the prospect of witnessing a flash mod to notice that anyone looked even remotely suspicious. She bounced up onto her tiptoes to glance around the platform, but she saw nothing to indicate that the flash mod was about to start.

She did, however, catch sight of a familiar head of red curls. Paris threw her hand up in a spirited wave and said, “Look, it's Lily. Lily! Lily, over here!”

Bored with standing at the back of the platform, Paris stuck her phone into her purse and grabbed Chris by the arm to begin leading him in Lily's direction. Halfway across the distance between them, Paris remembered Chris's lack of memories and the potential awkwardness that might ensue without a quick explanation.

“Lily is Maia,” she whispered so no one around them could hear. “You might remember her. I think the two of you used to volunteer at the same animal shelter. Or at least you knew one another from somewhere when we were all at summer camp.”

Continuing her way through the crowd, Paris approached the bench where Lily was sitting with another girl.

“Hi, Lily! And... you look awfully familiar,” she said, eyeing the other girl but finding she couldn't quite place her. “I'm sorry, I don't think I remember your name. I've never really been good with names and faces.”

Quinn made his way onto the subway platform, carrying a small bundle of flowers. He was waiting for his girlfriend and her friend to get off the train, neither had any idea that he was waiting for them. As he stood in the oppressive heat of the platform he zoned out as he wondered how he had ended
up in this crowded hell, being jostled on all sides by the unwashed masses.

Earlier in the day everything was going great. He had the day off, everything was ready for school, he was off work, and he had a date to look forward to that night but things took a turn for the strange when he received a text from his girlfriend.

Quote:
Hey Quinn. Car had a flat. Mercy and I on subway. Will be late tonight.

It sucked since it would mean he would have less time with her. As he had stood in the art store staring at the text he realized that he could always take his car down to meet her and Mercy at the train station. The smile that broke across his face was wide and mischievous. What girl wouldn't love being saved from a long walk by being surprised by their boyfriend and his car. He quickly texted her back;

Quote:
Bummer. It sucks you are stuck taking the train but I makes the moment we meet that much more special. See you when you get there ^.^

He slipped his phone back in his pocket. He had a few stops to make before he would make it to the train station, he should have still beat it but it would be pushing it.

Quinn was broken from his thoughts as someone bumped into him from behind. "Watch it dude," he grumbled as he did a quick pocket check, everything was where it was meant to be. A phone check revealed the time, damn the train must be running late either that or I came to the wrong station. He grimaced at the idea and shot Delilah a quick text to verify his station was the station they were going to get off at.

Jessie's smile was bright and seemed to light up the space around her as she gratefully took the book back. "Thank you. It sent me on a not so merry chase across the platform." Her fingers absently ran across the cover discovering new scratches and dings across the raised lettering; 'Born in Ice' by 'Nora Roberts'. Since it had been a used book to begin with Jessie wasn't horribly heartbroken, not as much as she would have been if she had lost it completely, but she still was pretty steamed over the damage. "I can't believe how careless people are these days. Or is it a lack of personal space that make people think it's ok to just run into others making them drop their books." She huffed in anger, much like a petulant child, and glared at the milling crowd around them.

Doing her best to calm down, a pretty big feat for her right then, Jessie focused back on the boy who had returned her book. "Thank you very much again by the way." She paused and added after a moment of thought, "I already said that didn't I?" She shrugged and began to study the passengers waiting on the platform for the train... Trying to figure out who had originally sent her book flying.

It was hard to really tell but she could see a surprising amount of people in more clothing than what was necessary in such a hot location, "odd..." It was said softly but she spoke loudly as she voiced her observations. "Either those folks are cold and I've got a fever or those people are wearing too many layers. It's sweltering down here and I swear I think I see someone with like 12 layers." This was an exaggeration but considering the amount of layers she spotted a dozen could have been possible. "Oh my name is Jessie Haze by the way." She smiled absentmindedly, eyeing the crowd. "Seriously odd."

Forget it. I'm not waiting any longer. There's got to be something we can do from this side beyond stand around and wait for the White Moon to find us. Xenotime's response offered little consolation for the captain, as she loathed overriding another's orders. Aurostibite, who turned up to assist in the operation, seemed of differing opinion. Umber half-turned from Xenotime's side to watch him, and noted that he made a beeline for the office door.

"There's no reason for us to stand around. Covert is important, but there is cover in expedience. We can't draw this out forever." He imagined that the White Moon ran an inevitability game of finding them. Afterward, their paltry numbers would prove useless against the teeming swarms of them that arose with a single alert. He wanted to avoid it, certainly, but he wanted to make progress while doing so. The platform was loaded with civilians and perfectly usable starseeds - and most agents present possessed the ability to teleport. If they could stop and start the trains of their own volition... Wouldn't they be able to game the White Moon and their allies out of the subway?

The captain in scrubs started after his superior counterpart and caught up when the general discovered a locked, flimsy door labeled 'Employees Only'. While Jack - or Morgan, or Haüyne - held the lockpicking skills, Umber hadn't taken the time to learn. He was uncertain how prevalent such skills were among Negaverse agents. Instead he looked to Aurostibite to offer assistance - or look for an answer.

"I can kick it down. Unless you know how to pick locks." He glanced over shoulder toward the crowd. "A friend once showed me this subway. This is supposed to be the office for it. I don't know what we'll find inside. But standing around isn't doing us any good on collecting starseeds. There's no reason against pulling here."

HI HOW ARE YOU

The train ran late, and he loathed lateness.

Isaiah shifted from interest in the threesome of gorgeous women to concentration on precisely how late the subway ran compared to the LED readout displayed overhead. He hadn't heard the rush of air that signified its arrival. Already many people stood around looking every bit as impatient as the rest. City life bred impatience like a rat plague; he expected there would be incoming complaints in five minutes.

And he might join that crowd, considering that he might wind up late for a particularly pertinent arrangement he prepared. A few of the sweaty strangers caught his attention only mildly; he hadn't understood why anyone would wear sweatshirts in the midst of summer, especially when wearing black mesh proved caustically hot. They felt no breathability, undoubtedly.

Well, their loss.

Again Isaiah checked his transit app to no avail. The time still displayed 5:03, which was four minutes ago. Where the hell was the train?

Observation
The train whistled and screeched through its thick, black tunnel and roared by the platform at a blazing speed. Mottled streaks of color passed for windows and words while each car vanished as quickly as it came. The hiss of wind whistled by, dying to a dull moan until the subway train passed long out of earshot and far beyond its mandatory transit stop.

Even the transit attendants looked unquestioningly puzzled, and started toward the office doors to check in on the central computers.

Mass radio from General Brimstone
Good evening, Agents -

I understand that it's fairly hot with those disguises over your uniforms! If we were in danger of Order discovery, they would've sensed us by now - try to cool down by removing your disguises for a while. Just be careful! You never know what kind of civilians are lurking around here...

Other generals have my leave for taking starseeds right now. Subordinate officers should take this moment to observe how the highest ranks of the Negaverse can take a starseed stealthily. Take notes if you can! This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity! Quizzes will be handed out after the operation! Hoho... just kidding.

-muffled coughing-

So, that's about all I have for you right now. Remember to defend the transit office if the White Moon show up! Can't let them in there to jam up our patches to the mainframe!

Brimstone out!

Sorry about the drag to the start! I am trying to correct course here to keep things on track (hurr) and interesting. At this point I would like to announce that Negaverse agents are free to shed their disguises as it is swelteringly hot in the subway and they might be tempting heat stroke otherwise~ Additionally, anti-Negaverse characters are free to start recognizing agents to move the plot along!

All agents (not just generals) are also able to pull starseeds as they see fit without needing to roll. The goal here is to grab them while you can!

Another important goal is to start the rolling minigame process as soon as possible. This applies to the train threads, in which there's a fixed point of usefulness.

For anti-Negaverse characters, anyone who is remotely familiar with transit systems as a character will know that the train should have stopped at their platform. They are free to notice that it went by! Additionally, they can eavesdrop on the attendants to find out that's not how any of this works, and can encroach on the office door. The attendants will be unlocking the doors on my next post if no one busts in (but feel free to bust in, it's totally cool)!

Cinnabar gripped the hand that met hers, giving a firm squeeze in return before she released it.

"Maybe I'll see you two around. Don't be shy saying hi if you do." She said as she shifted backwards, raising a hand in fare well. Jarias was given a grin as well before she turned and left the two to their flirting, long legs eating up the concrete.

Any other time, she would have stayed... Not one, but two women to flirt with would have been a lot of fun, but it was pointless tonight. Those two, if everything went right, wouldn't make it out of this place alive... it was pointless to get to know them. She didn't need the distraction and already the Negaverse was calling. The general's voice came from her communicator and Cinnabar shifted course, heading for the outside of the crowd and a more sheltered place to drop her glamour.

If Levi couldn't recognize a Negaverse operation by now, he was pretty sure that he did not deserve to continue living in this city. There were too many people in overdone costumes around - hiding a powered uniform under normal clothes wasn't easy, he could sympathize with that, but dressing in bulky clothes in summer was just. A dead giveaway.

Oh well, maybe he could help, because the better he got in with the Negaverse, the smoother his life would go. Or, at least, so he figured.

He didn't bother powering up - not yet, when it would only attract attention. Instead, he snuck over to the "employees only" door, in time to hear a very familiar voice request a lockpick. Yep, that was Umber, and this was definitely a Negaverse operation.

"I can," he said, and he sort of prayed that Umber would vouch for him since he knew him in both forms, because he had no idea who the other officers present were, and he was pretty sure that an interruption from a random civilian would not be looked kindly upon. "I have a kit, actually." Because you never knew when you'd have to break into a place. Sometimes your own place. It was in the bottom of his bag, and he extracted it - at a glance, it looked like any other grooming kit or similar.

"You know, if you don't mind the help."

Jarias nodded. "Look forward to seeing you again Ariel!" As the tallest of their trio headed off, Jarias took the time to appreciate the figure heading off. Long legs, nice a**. Ariel was....awesome.

Aitana was too, and she was left alone with her original intended conversation buddy. Even if the girl seemed a bit skeptical of her. The thick accent didn't help Jarias's fondness already. Something about accents made her feel like they were taking her off to a faraway place.

"I use to do a little volleyball. My forte was basketball though. Something about being taller then most of the girls." She laughed and then nodded, "You miss the competition? The thrill of the fight?" Her eyes didn't mean to draw away from Aitana, but the numerous people in trench coats or large jackets was...weird.

"Wow, the train is sure taking its time getting here. Do you think we should ask?"

Lily frowned when Anabel said she wasn't really well liked, then shook her head. "I'm sure people like you fine." Then she blushed and looked embarassed, "oh yes, you did say that."

She smiled, "thank you. Things are getting better now, but its been quite a journey."

She grinned when Paris seemed to notice her and called out to her. She waved as Paris approached, but her wave was cut short as Anabel pointed out guy in purple shorts outing him as a negaverser. She frowned training her eyes on him about to ask her if she was sure when Paris and Chris made it over to them.

"Hi," she said in a rushed sort of way frowning and giving Paris and Chris a look. She didnt bother waiting for Anabel to give her name, "Over there, the guy in the purple. Anabel says he's a nega. Oh wait, what's he doing ..."

Wither sat up breifly before hunching over and listening to the command given. He was grateful to here that he could get rid of the stupid hoodie and get to work. He was sick of sitting around hot. He didn't bother trying to be very secretive about it. It was hot as hell and who would really pay attention to him shedding a layer.

It was done in a quick motion and he sighed audibly before frowning as the person sitting next to him started to stare. He turned and frowned, "I happen not to like to sweat." He picked at the other shirt, "surely you'd rid yourself of a hoodie to."

The other looked annoyed, but a second later, he had his starseed plucked and Wither let him slump back in the chair and tutted at him. "Oh dear looks like you overheated."

He got up and walked off to find another victim. He felt invigorated, empowered, and definitely ready for action.

Xe flashed her captain a heartfelt apologetic smile as her shoulders came up in a small shrug. If this had been her mission, she would have had orders for him, but at the moment they were to obey whatever the current active general was dictating to them. Xenotime might not have been a fan of bowing to other's desires, but she was a good soldier.

Fortunately, relief came as a voice sounded over their communication crystals. The general took no time in removing the hoodie and letting it fall, forgotten, against the wall as she stepped away from it. Umber had followed Aurostibite, though she slid a hand along one of his arms as she passed him, pulling his hood back with a delighted grin before slipping easily through the crowd still gawking at where the train had just come rushing past them.

She spotted Cinnabar, though not like that was ever a difficult task. Even wearing glamour, the woman was an amazon. Xe dipped her head towards the other general, smiling at her, but did not linger.

Her target was in front of her, a young woman standing on her own. Quiet as a cat, the agent slipped up behind her, and lifted a hand to hover over her back. The slid in was effortless, the snatch of the starseed within lightening quick. She was stepping back and away from the poor civilian before her knees had even hit the platform floor, whistling softly under her breath as she tucked the little gem into her hip pouch.

Basketball was a very funny word when mixed with her accent, but it didn't stop her from saying it, giving a vigorous nod of approval as Jarias shared her sport of choice. "Ahhh basketball is not bad. Very good for tall ones, yes." She laughed a little mildly ending in a grin as a hand reached up to scratch the back of her head. She of course thought her sport was the best, but basketball was plenty physical and exciting too. Certainly better then boring sports like say.. baseball.

"I very much like competing. I almost got to go to tryouts for the women's national volleyball league but..." She shrugged, seeming to lose that bit of amusement she had just a moment before.

The shift in conversation was a welcome distraction. "It is taking forever. Maybe is broke? Would be good to know." If she was going to have to hoof it to the capital building or hitch hike there it was better she knew as soon as possible. Stepping up to her tip toes, giving her an even higher boost above the crowd she looked around, searching for someone who looked like they might know what was going on.

Ahhh, she could hear it coming! The telltale sound of wheels on the track could be heard as the train neared, and Aurora's eyes focused on the tunnel expectantly. And they followed after it as it didn't stop, simply zooming by at full speed. That... she was certain this was one of the main stops. Why in the world hadn't the train stopped?

Lips purses, eyes full of confusion she glanced down to her watch, and then up at where the train should have been again in exasperation. Only as her eyes traveled she could have sworn she saw a familiar face. (She was oblivious to the fact that there were actually quite a few familiar faces among the very crowded station.

Tall... black hair.. Her eyes squinted, trying to make sure the she was at least half way certain that the girl was who she thought she would. Stepping closer, hand lifting up in the motion of a mild wave, she called out softly. "Winterlynn?" It was a unique enough name, if the girl didn't turn to it then Aurora would just fade back with an embarrassed smile.

She heard the sounds indicating a train, could hear it on the track, and as it came she expected to see it start to slow before coming to a stop, so they could board and she could be on her way home. Instead however it continued and it was at such a speed it had no intention of stopping. it was only by luck that she managed to catch sight of the number on the back of the train as he continued on and out of sight.

That was the train...why had it passed. Confusion filled her pale eyes before she heard her name being called and turned. her eyes landing on a figure she'd seen before - one which was familiar. "Aurora." She called out raising a hand. "That was the right train, I saw the number on it." She called while approaching the other slowly. What was going on? Surely another train would come which they could board instead? Or this one would back up? Could trains even back up?

She really wasn't sure if it could back up but perhaps a different train and someone who worked here would tell them a mistake had been made and another one was on the way that would get them instead? She really hadn't a clue how transit worked as she had never used public transit.
