They were... almost a thing? Anguis blinked, wondering if he had heard that right or if it was just a joke. But no, she was completely serious and he hadn't misheard. "You were almost a thing? With Kursha?" He asked, still trying to wrap his mind around it. Suddenly, Forera calling him her boyfriend didn't seem like a sort of weird, over the top thing. Rude? Yes. But it wasn't just a random phrase thrown out now to try and hurt, it had history. It wasn't like her and him bickering.
Speaking of that, he cracked a smile at that. "Sometimes I just don't feel like biting back. Doesn't mean it hurts though," Anguis shrugged, he was used to it. It was their weird way of being affectionate. Like wrestling on the couch until it got onto the floor and eventually finished with one of them banging into the table. "It's a respectable thing though, but yeah I'm fine. This is all an act anyways, to get you to like me before the worse side comes out." He wiggled his fingers, hoping the joke was actually funny.
"I mean, he saved Rera," Anguis said, sliding down to talk to Luxara on the floor. He was already tall enough when normally talking, might as well keep the height as even as possible. "So there's at least something good in him. At least, that's what I think. Even if I never even see the dude." It was true he hadn't really seen him but well, he saved his sister so it was something at least.
Anguis gave a quiet hum, thinking as she talked about her night. "I'm sure the iniative won't hold it against you, I mean it's not like you knew he would do this and you fought against him," He said, thinking back to the fight. "I do agree you should have got him but hey, past is the past. We just gotta.. live with it and move on." Funny, considering he didn't do that but hey. Maybe she could learn from his shitty mistakes. It wasn't like she didn't have enough happen to her already, Luxara deserved something good for once.

"Yeahhhhhhh we sure started getting somewhere. The jig is up, the news is out, I have a personal history of kissing terrible people." She drew her knees up closer, wincing a little at Anguis's joke. "I've had experience with people seeming okay then being terrible, like the guy who, uh, shot me in the gut. Please warn me ahead of time if you're like that so I can skedaddle while I still can."
It was tough. It was all tough. So far, the bits she was feeding the tealblood hadn't bitten her in the a**. But there was plenty of time to change that.
Her voice was cracked, and evenly quiet. Mostly contemplative, now. "I think...saving one person doesn't negate putting someone else in danger. It's, like, 'oh well thank god he's not total scum'. I dunno. I have a lot to think about after what Kur did. Because Vul was always...weird. Kur was weird. And For...I dunno about For at this point, either." She let her chin nestle on her knees. "It's tough when people do shitty things and you're not sure if you can tell if they'll actually get better or not, like, if you can trust them in the really hard moments, especially after having the rug pulled out from under you..."
She gave Anguis a slanted look as he talked more, and how he was just...on her side? Reassuring her? His words were so nice. Hard to use to make things better at this point, but readable sentiment. He was trying. He was supportive. Without another word, she let herself lean on him, her head and shoulder on his buff arm.

Miache GahijiWith Keionx - Is that a.....puppy?"R-Reemus...?" he rasped, staring in shock. "Why did you--" he stopped himself and shook his head. No....that didn't matter now. Keionx and Reemus had both switched sides....but what mattered was that she needed help, better help than he could offer. He knew nothing about medicine of any sort and with his shaking hands he doubted he'd be able to offer proper assistance. "No....that doesn't matter. We had a bad run in with daywalkers. She took a bad injury in that mess earlier and still tried to save me from..." his brow furrowed as he held up his still chained wrists. He felt so defenseless already shackled. He'd been able to stave off daywalkers well enough, but not uninjured, and that had certainly not made it easy.
Miache gestured with his head in the direction of the orangeblood. "She needs help." His chains could wait. What was important was at least stopping the bleeding...if someone had medical experience to clean and dress her up that would be just dandy...but his hopes weren't high. Miache didn't know any rebels....being in enemy territory felt worrying. He couldn't believe how short-sighted he'd been, siding with rebels simply because they were barely wigglers....he prided himself in being intelligent....but that was a very stupid thing to do. He slowly went back to Kei's side and knelt down, frowning at the passed out troll. She still owed him answers.....she wasn't to die until then at least.

Alexin had wanted to stay and help Keoinx in the battle against the daywalkers. The undead. It would have been the right thing to do but. Well, Splitch had had other opinions - and by opinions, we mean actions. And by actions, we mean screeching like an undead themself and swooping in and carrying Alexin off away from them. Despite the young blueblood first struggling phsyically, then pleading and yelling at his lusus in equal turn, the two heads were in perfect agreement - growing or not, Alexin was still a child. And this was no place for children. Heck, if it hadn't been for the fact that Keoinx was obviously a capable fighter and was seemingly determined to take down the undead, they might have snatched her up to. Well, that and frankly, they were still pretty wrecked from the fight earlier. They'd waited, worried, by the exit of the village for a long time - but it had been a busy night, and in the end, Alexin had fallen asleep, cocooned by his lusus. When they woke, they immediately started looking for Keoinx - or Miache (it had been Miache, right? It had looked like him....older and bigger, but Alexin remembered the other troll vaguely....). It was difficult to find anyone he recognised though, with the general hustle and bustle as the rebels explored the abandoned village. But eventually persistence paid off and he saw a large yellowblooded troll standing next to...no. Surely that couldn't be Miache, with all that....DIRT on him? But that wasn't the point. Alexin rushed up to Miache, completely ignoring politeness and almost desperately spoke. "Keoinx - where is she, is she okay? Where is she!?"

"If you've only kissed one person I'm not entirely sure it counts as a history, unless there's other, terrible trolls I haven't learned yet," Anguis murmured, hiding his surprise. They had kissed? Kursha was even more of an a*****e than he had known, which was honestly surprising. But that was then and this was now, past all that. He winced though as his joke missed his mark. He hadn't realized Kursha had done the exact same. "I'm not, honest. Nothing here to hide, seeing how you've already seen me at my worst. I swear, I normally don't bleed that often."
He listened as she talked, fingers running through the chain belt on his pants. She had a point, even if it wasn't what he wanted to hear. "That's true, I guess. I mean, we both have different views of what just happened. But are Kursha and Vulpin the same sort of weird? Like. Well," Anguis paused, fingers stopping as he rummaged for the words he wanted, "Do they give the same vibe, I guess? I just.. don't know a lot about him." His fingers began moving again, metal soothing under his touch. "Rera, well. I don't think you'll take anything I say about her since she's my sis and all, but I believe in her. She's done some bad stuff but I think... I think she's going the right way. Trying to fix it. But I get what you mean, that issue with trust. There's nothing you can really do to fix that."
He tensed at first when he felt Luxara on his arm, then relaxed as he realized she was just leaning on him. For moment he just savored the silence, the odd feeling of peace before finally saying "At least the only way we can go from this is up. Unless somehow this can get worse, which honestly, I don't think it can."

"Blossmom can try digging with his beak but he's still hurt." Cerpin answered with a pained look in his eyes at the wound in his lusus's wing. He wasn't going to mope over the issue but the young troll knew it had been intended for him. It was his lusus's job to keep him safe but that didn't mean he had to like the consequences. The trio walked and waded through the dark murky swamps as Tevini tried to make some small talk. Food, huh? If only he knew anything about wildlife, specifically what was dangerous!
"Once it's safe to leave, I'll bring some stuff back here maybe. Food and bandages, to build up a reserve." He mumbled mostly to himself but partially to Rasali. "The stuff growing around here looks disgusting to eat. I doubt it'd keep the village going for long." It would do for tonight (if they could find anything) but the journal had made it clear they needed stuff brought back from the outside to survive. He glanced at Tevini as she nervously walked beside him. What had happened to her while they'd been apart? She looked much worse for the wear than he did though that could've just been lifestyle differences.
"Y'know, you rebels are a lot different than I'd imagined. I thought you all were crazy savages or something from the propaganda." He hadn't expected them to shelter and save him there in the tunnels, a bunch of teens willing to take them along on a fight to freedom. Nor had he expected Forera to vouch for him so strongly to save him from Aerona. Or Rasali to spare the two children. These were looking like real normal trolls to him which relieved him to some extent. They were fierce but reasonable which were two qualities he respected in another troll.
"I don't understand much about you guys and your cause but I like the way you do things. I'd like to be a part of it... if you'd let me." It was a pretty risky commitment but Cerpin was willing to gamble if the prize was good. He dreamed of going to space first and foremost but this group had helped him survive the night and he wanted to repay them with the resources he had. Along the way he would learn more about them and see if it was worth sticking around long term. Betrayal didn't interest him, though he knew Rasali would never believe him, as he was incredibly displeased with the Royalists' treatment of him and Tevini. They'd basically tossed the children and their lusii in as a buffer of bodies for the Rebels to have to cut through to reach Kursha the sniper. He had no interest helping them again in any form.

Keionx Rutace Is somehow not deadThe vest helped more than would be expected for a mere garnment, making it easier for breath to reach her irritated and injured lungs. The bandages at her stomach were orange stained and clearly useless, but they helped enough to keep her breathing, even if her skin was starting to feel alarmingly clammy, and her face was pale and drawn. As if in response to Alexins voice – which was not impossible, though unlikely – she moaned weakly, her eyes remaining closed as she flickered, briefly into semiconciousness. There was, she was also vaguely aware, another voice, a large shape, before she slipped back into unconciousness, her current blood supply not enough to support full conciousness.

This hive was filled with shelves, boxes, and other types of storage. Baskets and sacks hung from the ceiling and were piled in stacks in the corner. Another community building rather than a home, an old rope ladder leading up to a second block above suggested even more of the same motif. Everything was empty, and there were no hints to what had been kept in here apart from a few sheets of paper that had been stapled to one wall. Exposure to the elements had left them all but illegible, and only one or two words could still be made out. A touch would be all that was necessary to turn the paper into nothing but dust and flakes. Stock Li ......................edical supplie

After the night Rasali had had she was perfectly happy to give the children a chance to catch each other up. It also gave her an opportunity to further read the two trolls. The more she hung around them, the easier it was to accept they were well-intentioned. Naïve, as pupas were, but unlikely to betray her group without a damn good reason. Considering they were all equally isolated, it was safe to assume they were all in this together. Rasali looked over her newly-appointed troops. Two kids, a tortoise and a bird. Well… It could be worse? Technically? Rasali smiled weakly. ”I’m sure there are shovels or at least something shovel-shaped lying around… Scuttle should do nicely for transport purposes. As for food, well, while there’s no accounting for taste, I do know what water plants are edible at the very least. Thank you Papa for that one.” Rasali nodded, sounding surer of her plan as she thought of it. ”Granted if you’d like to bring snacks to the next Phoenix Initiative rally, I’m not gonna complain.” Rasali grinned at Cerpin. However, she let her joke fade as Cerpin continued to speak seriously. She couldn’t blame him. s**t had been heavy as of late. Rasali sighed. ”Yeah. Government sure does love their propaganda… Glad you’re taking the time to come to your own conclusions… Whether or not that was what you intended from the get-go. I know it’s a hell of a lot harder to go your own way than just going along with the highblood thing. It’s appreciated.” Rasali offered Cerpin a more genuine smile. ”Well! When it comes down to it, the decision-making comes down to Byakko and the rest of the senior members! Still, if you’re looking to make a good impression, helping me out with this sopor thing is a dang good place to start.” Rasali rolled her shoulders. She was tired, but ready to go. Thankfully the rest of the trolls lurking around the village hadn’t been slacking off while Rasali was talking. The layout and leftover supplies of the location were already being recorded. It might have been eerie as s**t, but the swamp was shaping up to be a pretty sweet base. If they had access to their own well of sopor slime, well, then things might just start looking up for the old Phoenix Initiative. Rasali rapped her knuckles against the trunk of one of the central treehives as she stabbed a note to the tree with a sharp stick she’d found. The note was crude, but informative, indicating where Rasali, Tevini, and Cerpin were heading and when to expect them back. ”Ready to go whenever you guys are!” Rasali called to the kids.

"Who are the other senior members?" Tevini asked curiously, wondering if she'd run into any of them during the madness of the night. The young girl led the group away from the village as they began to search the swamp for any sign of food (that Rasali could examine) or for a blockaded tunnel. It was boring and yet tense at the same time. Just a lot of swamp that looked similar to the swamp they had just passed. Yet, with the conflict between Royalists and Rebels unresolved they had to stay on guard and try not to be detected. Her nerves were going to be frayed by the time they returned to the village.
"Is Byakko..." Normal, she'd wanted to ask. It seemed tactless even as she tried to find a way to reword the question. Still, the leader of the Rebels being a mutantblood was kind of a big deal! Tevini had not initially come to the events of the night with the plan of joining the Phoenix Initiative so she felt a bit hesitant at how to proceed once they returned with the sopor. The fact of the matter was that they were in an extremely risky situation and she felt out of options. For now she'd go along with things and hope to get a chance to talk with Cerpin later. It was weird to think of needing to consult with her 'team' when she was so used to being alone with Scuttle. Now her decisions had the potential to affect another troll.
"... what are her plans?" It seemed safer to ask about the goals of the Rebels instead. The trio continued to trek through the muck with shadows and doubts plaguing their wearied heads. The question had a second inquiry layered underneath it as well- how did Rasali think the Rebel group might respond to tonight's ambush?

As soon as she entered the new hive, Detecive Serpen was on the case! Trying to keep a lighthearted attitude instead of a grumpy one, the tealblood trudged into the unknown room, inspecting it throughly. She searched the boxes and general area curiously, and merely glanced at the paper on the wall, squinting at the words and trying to make out what it said. "...Stock Li... st? Limited...?" She asked herself, and continued reading. "...edical, medical! Supplies... Empty, ...ilding, building..." When she finally reached the end, Forera understood what the place was for. It was where they kept stock, and counted everything out... Which ended up bad, considering they 'needed more of everything.' A sigh slid out of her body and both her hands landed on her hips, eyeing the room more carefully when she suddenly heard a sound behind her.
As soon as she turned and saw a figure there, Forera tensed. Who the hell was this?! She didn't know any body type like it, nor had she ever seen it before. She quickly darted over with a squeak of her shoe, grabbing the figure by the collar of their neck, grip firm and threatening. Sure, she supported Cerpin, but that was because she knew who he was and believed in him. This troll-- Who the hell... How could she have let herself get snuck up on? A small amount of rage curled in her. No. She wasn't about to be sold out again. Her grip grew firmer, glaring at the other with her fiercest gaze, nose flaring, shark teeth curled into a large growl. "Who the <********> are you?" She snarled, lifting her robot arm as a silent threat. He appeared to be a yellowblood, with ratty hair and a few scars on his face. He looked tired, hurt. A pinch of guilt struck through her, but her grip never faltered. Albeit familiar looking, Forera wasn't about to take any chances. "Who do you work for? Tell me, or I'll beat it out of you," She hissed, snarl morphing into a large, crazy grin. "Don't think for a second I won't." She was tired and angry, and she wasn't above using force to get what she needed to keep them safe. He could die for all she cared, if he was a royalist. She tried not to think about if he was a rebel. Now that would be embarrassing!

Well, Rasali was smiling a bit more. That was a good sign. Tevini still looked tense and on edge but at least one of his companions was starting to feel comfortable around him. Cerpin walked next to the young redblood as the trio left the village in search of their prize. He had to admit, he didn't really know what to expect from the sopor spring. The stuff just showed up at his hive when he needed it and he had no idea how it got there. Maybe they could rig up some kind of machine or pipping to get the stuff directly to the new base instead of having to cart it back by hand. Something to suggest to this Byakko troll later he supposed. Cerpin was always full of ideas, it was the implementation of them that he struggled with.
"Thanks, it certainly isn't easy." She was right that this whole thing hadn't exactly been intentional on his part. He had always regarded the hemospectrum as kind of ridiculous but he also found it beneficial to play his part up until now. After this he would have to decide where the fine line between playing along and doing what was right separated and how he was going to walk it. After all, if the system was going to give him perks he could abuse for himself and his friends, Cerpin would most definitely do so.
"Good question, Tevini. I'm curious to know too. This is a great base and all but it's basically exile." Recruiting other trolls would be very difficult from all the way out here in the swamp unless she didn't plan to increase their numbers. And launching counterattacks against the Royalists would also be hard with a lack of supplies. He felt confident he could help these trolls with food and necessities to live but even he doubted he could purchase weapons or anything like that. That was part of the reason he'd been looking for trolls that could build such things, like his space ship.
"This Byakko... did you all know? About her... blood..." His voice awkwardly mumbled towards the end. It had been a pretty big shock to him and Tevini to see the pink blood smeared across the leader's skin. It got him wondering, were there other mutantbloods working for the rebels? How many? The whole thing was still very overwhelming to him since he'd been conditioned by society to see mutantbloods as strange and abnormal. What was this troll like in reality? He tried to keep too many questions from spilling out of him at once but the young purpleblood was just a naturally talkative and curious fellow. His eyes focused on their surroundings as they waded through the muck. He still wasn't sure how much Rasali trusted them and he didn't want to come off too eager to know everything in case she found it suspicious. Tevini might get away with it as a lowblood but he had been made well-aware of how unwelcome his caste was earlier with Aerona.

Stryke had found the building to be in relatively good shape. He'd quietly crept into what looked like a semi decent find. He just needed a little time to rest; it wasn't like he would stay in this exact building. It was worn by the weather; a lot of the paper work that remained stapled to the wall looked like time had all but ruined it. Squinting, he tried to make out what little there was to discern before moving to look for a place to seat himself. His mind registered the sounds he was hearing was a voice, but before he could turn and bolt out of the building. Stryke had been found by a hostile. yet again...Terror registered on his face, to downright outrage at being jerked by his jacket and yanked closer to what appeared to be a tealblood who had seen better nights. The yellowblood cringed when she threatened him with violence, baring his teeth as she demanded to know who he was. Ah! He didn't know her name, but she had been a bomb lobbing psycho along with Zeffer during the battle! Given the higherblood hue, and physical condition (not to mention mental) who could blame her for being so angry? Stryke found it in him to tilt his head at her, as if he was thinking. Had he in fact found another rebel? Did that mean more were out there still, or better yet more were with her? His laughter was nervous, but relieved as his body visibly relaxed ever so slightly. "you can unhand me for ssstarters..." He leveled her a fairly serious look, trying not to tremble. She looked positively horrifying with her snarling feral grin. The younger troll swallowed past a lump in his throat. Stryke was reminded of a predator willing to rip its victim apart. While he was less agitated, Stryke was no less afraid she would hurt him. Taking a risk he added more. "i'm not here as an enemy of the rebellion." Ryk pulled back, attempting to recoil away from her before she made good on that promise of violence. The tealblood was unpredictable and violent that was plain to see. He just wanted to be left alone, was that so much to ask for?!

"Y'don' have t' tell me that." Reemus could see the injuries well enough that the girl, who couldn't even stay awake, needed assistance. "Thene's friend c'n heal. N' the tealblood one has bandages..." They didn't seem to be in the area, though. Reemus frowned. "If nothin' else, y' gotta do somethin' about the bleedin', mate." It was so simple. Was Miache incapable of knowing that much? She was bleeding out, and that had to be taken care of, pronto. "If either of ya have any cloth that ain't soakin' wet, you can wrap it around 'er." He was going off of what Mili had done for him. Reemus would offer to repurpose his own bandages of they hadn't gotten a bit grimed up from his trek and his fight with a drone.
"What kinda injuries did she get?" Reemus eyed the bleeding from her stomach. Yeesh. Looked deep. "I c'n carry 'er better than yer lusus if it's okay to keep movin' 'er."
Someone, however, was coming up to them and panicking. His nerves certainly were not up to that. "Listen, mate, it ain't time to freak out, n' it ain't gonna help any. This troll is in bad shape n' we need all the help we can get."
He looked at Miache again. "N' if we're lucky, we can take some time to take care a' yer neck."

"I dunno," she said shortly. About everything, about something specific, about nothing. Who even knew. She just kept staring at the wall.
"I found a dead body in one of the hives. No wounds, no issues, just...dead. All these hives seem to have been abandoned around the same time. I found a shot-up 'council' hive. Something went bad with this village. I thought OHC was bad, but at least everyone knew its history. Here? Anything could've happened." She rolled her head to be able to look at him some. "Wanna try to figure out the mystery?"
