Loki chuckles as he and Ben banter about their ranks. "Well, teenager or not, I think they made a fine pick. Look at you! You have a great deal of magic in you boy and you certainly are not a novice - though you absolutely have a long way to go. I fully expect you to master any magic you can get your hands on. I know you can do it." He grins at him and claps him on the back with his free hand. "By the way, I didn't say it earlier, but I love your notification tone. Nice choice." As they approach the restaurant he begins to smile broadly. "Ah, a tea house! Grandfather used to speak fondly of these. I wonder if it is the same one he used to frequent. If so, you're in for a treat!" They walk up to the building and he takes off his shoes and indicates that Ben should do so as well. "It is times like this I am thankful Grandfather drilled the customs of this place into our heads." Soon they are greeted and seated. Loki picks up his menu and starts trying to figure out what to order for Olly. "Get what you want, Ben." He is very thankful for his Grandfather's insistence on them mastering kanji, katakana, and hiranga. Though he is certain that Ben is going to need a tutor for finishing his lessons. "Hmm ... I guess I'll get the baby the egg-flavored rice with broiled fish and cooked seasonal vegetables with a cup of apple juice. I will have the pork ramen and a cherry boba tea. If Olly eats all his lunch, he can have Kimi balls for desert~" he says cheerfully to the little tot as he wriggles in his high chair. If they had been back at their old home, he would have let Olly sit at his old play table and eat there. It really was not an option when eating out.

Ben glances over at his father smirking and says "You are my dad you are biased." He then scowls at him "One of these days you are going to train me to death. And they will give me a gravestone that says 'Trained to death by dear old Dad'" The lad then grins when he is complemented by his choice of notification tone for his phone "Call it and hear what it is for when you call me." Ben says as he follows Loki into the teahouse the teen whispers "It was worth getting the scolding to get it." Ben then removes is shoes and follows his father to a table where he sits and also opens a menu. "Ok if you insist I want this and this and that and this." He says without actually reading any of it. "I will have the sampler deluxe and iced sweet tea."
Loki snorts at Ben's retort. He has to admit that he does train the boy hard. "Well, if I make you train so hard, it is so that you will succeed in your career and life." His serious expression drops and he just smirks at the boy. "Besides, my job as your father is to torture you. Isn't that right, Olly?" The little scamp grabs his tray and tries to shake it off. "Down," the little one protests. "Not now, Olly You're about to eat lunch." He turns to look at the waitstaff bringing over their order. "Odin's ravens, Ben! What the heck? I hope you're hungry." He starts laughing and puts his phone back in his bag as he watches them set his ramen and boba tea down. "This looks great, ladies. Thank you!"

Ben smirks at his Dad then looks around the teahouse. "Well, you do a good job of that." He teases "Olly is so impatient." He says smiling. Then his eyes widen at their food is brought to them by the waitstaff "Ravenous Dad." He says sheepishly as a huge platter is set in front of him. "Thank you, Ma'am. Now where to start." Ben picks up a pair of chopsticks and clumsily grabs a piece of tempura and eats it. "Where are we going after we have stuffed our Olly do not throw that," Ben warns as Olly prepares to throw a piece of vegetable. The toddler hesitates then yells "Yucky." And sends the piece of vegetable flying. Ben just shakes his head and decides to let his dad deal with it and focuses on his own meal."Train train train.""Train train train.""More.""Train train train""Train train train."Ben almost chokes on some rice as his Zanpakuto and wand start a singsong chant of training. These two seemed to be more insistent than his father.
"I should have named you Fenrir instead of Benjiro, for the size of your appetite," he laughs. When Olly throws his vegetable Loki catches the piece of vegetable and scolds Olly. "Olaf Shishigami. No throw. Eat up." He starts scooping food into the resistant toddler's mouth. "He never gave his mother this much trouble ..." He sighs and leans back in his chair, thoughtfully. 'It really wasn't that long ago, it seems ...' He stops and takes notice of the toddler messily cramming the rice and egg into his mouth. "At least he's eating something." He sighs and pets the child comfortingly on top of his head as he gets a melancholy expression. Loki still misses her, but that damned dragon ate her. She was a rare female Berserker, his partner, and had put up with him through several previous relationships before they had fallen for each other. "He's a lot like her, you know ..." Sighing he returns to his ramen. Somehow it was not as good as it was earlier. Another sigh and he scolds himself. 'Get yourself together, Loki. She would chew you out for mourning this long when it is time to start fresh for the boys ... Besides, it's not fair to the woman Grandfather made arrangements for me to marry. My goodness, what am I doing? Well, whatever, I owe it to her to give her a chance and at least meet with her.' After he eats and drinks, he sits back and watches Ben eat his gluttonous meal. 'My goodness, was I ever like that at his age? Perhaps so. That boy must be getting ready for his last growth spurt. I had better make sure to set aside some money for his new wardrobe. I hardly expect that we have to spend all of our time in the new uniforms.'"How's your meal, Ben?" he asks as he uses a napkin to clean up the now food encrusted three year old boy, much to the baby's extreme reluctance. It was no matter. Loki dunks the napkin into the glass of water over and over and cleans him up. "Olly is a piggy. Isn't he, Ben? I guess we'll need to find a farm to leave him on~" he teases as he tickles the little fellow.

"My appetite is no match for Fenrir's." Ben joked and took another bite. "Yes, he did though not for long your more lenient than she was." He says between bites. Sampling everything that was on his platter. "Rockie said portions were smaller here." He mutters picking up some kind of dumpling and eating it in two bites. Ben realized that he may have to take some of this if not a lot of it with him when they left. "... you are right I had not thought about that before. I remember seeing a few farms on the way here. One or two even had more of his kind there." Ben says teasingly and just smirks at Olly when he growls back at him. After a bit, Ben leans over and pops a piece of chicken into Olly's mouth and grins as his brother seems to enjoy it. "Want to try anything Dad?" "More" Olly says speaking over Ben. Ben stares Olly down till the brat says please then gave him have another piece of his chicken then just gave him the rest of it. It was not much longer Ben started to feel full. Most of the meat was eaten and a good chunk of the vegetables and rice but there still seemed to be a lot left on the platter well at least enough for another meal.
Loki grins at his boys, glad that they can pull him out of his funk again. "Sure, I'd love to have some of those gyoza and maybe that sushi roll there." He reaches over and grabs one of the small plates provided for the sampler and helps himself. "So, I am thinking that since I am a seated officer for Fourth Division now there's no way I can keep from being on call. So what I think I'll do is try to get us an apartment near there. Even if I wind up going through with this engagement after meeting her, I want to make sure that I have quick access to work and it will be a while before we can actually proceed. At least, as far as I know."

Ben grins at his father "Keep in mind that I am also a seated officer and will probably need to get to headquarters quickly." He teases as they finish off the food. It was not long before their waitress came an collected there plates. "I was thinking about going to the academy for some book training. When are you suppose to meet your new girlfriend?" Ben watched as the waitress placed the check in front of his Dad.
Loki smiles at Ben. He really is proud of the boy. "I still find it hard to believe. Either you impressed them or they're really desperate," he teases as he finishes his food. "Well, as far as I can tell, there's a sizable residential district near the center. I do not know what pricing is like, but we will see. It's a somewhat smaller city and the guidebooks said that it is rather walk-able, so we will see what we can do about housing." He polishes off the last of his tea and then starts to clean up little Olly. "I need to check the letter, but I believe this is the restaurant. It would be nice if this goes through. Grandfather came from a family somewhat connected or something like it to her own, which is where I got my recommendation." He tucks Olly's messy bib into the diaper bag and then pays the bill. While he waits for the receipt, he picks up Olly and pats his backside to test the diaper. Still holding out for now. 'That won't last for terribly much longer,' he muses. "Yeah, go ahead and get checked in, Ben. Worse comes to worse, until we can get permanent lodgings you can stay at your assigned quarters at your division and I'll keep Olly with me. There's no reason not to as far as I can tell. My division will be pretty safe. If you do not feel comfortable staying at your division, I'll just check to see if my quarters has enough space."

He is very distracted, as the last few days, he has heard a new voice in his head. Not his own, and not Susanoo’s, but a new one. He hasn’t been able to make out what the voice is saying, but he is still curious about it. And so he came to the tea house, which had the best atmosphere for introspection, and the lavender tea was helpful to relax and not let stress get in the way. As such, Osano was completely unaware of his surroundings, trying to find the source of the new voice in his head. As such, he did not notice the other people in the tea house at all.

XXXTsubaki walked into the tea shop, pulling her new third seat behind her. She still couldn't come to terms with what had happened. In short order both her Captain and pervious third seat had disappeared. She still was unsure of their fate and now she was in charge of the squad and had to promote a new third seat to help keep the squad running. So, after going through all the candidates in the squad she had chosen Kitiara. So now she had invited the new officer out to tea with her so she could get to know her better. There was nothing more important then trust in the squad and that had to be built. Humming a tune she walked towards a table after ordering her tea. "This is the best tea shop in the Seiretei Kitiara. I really think you'll like it. It's also a great place to talk. It would do us both well to get to know one another better since we're be working more closely together to run the squad." She said in her chipper and sing songy voice. Ever since she had figured out her fusion with her zanpaktou, her voice had become more musical and almost enchanting to some. She was sure with more time it would go more back to normal, but for now it was at a more extreme with sounding more like she was constantly singing.

XXXKit had worked her whole life being a protector, she had died for that cause. She found it funny she had decided to spend her afterlife doing the same thing. It had been a whirlwind for her to learn about spirits, Shinigami, and the downside of being dead. Still, she had taken it all in stride as she became a Shinigami. She had found as the weeks turned into months two things, one time seemed to make no sense to her and the second it was not as busy as her life as a cop. Thus, she had spent quiet times alone exploring or diving into a good book. Which was what she had been trying to do moments ago, before her higher up came and all but dragged her out. She had not been listening really and assumed it was something about not staying cooped up indoors or needing to go outside, oh something about bonding? Kit shrugged the thoughts from her head as she followed her rather hyper squad mate around the streets of the Soul Society.
She may have caved about leaving the squad offices, but she did not budge on the book, she had found a rather interesting series and just could not put the story down. She would occasionally mutter a yes, or the like to hint she was somewhat paying attention but in reality, her mind was on what would happen next to the characters. The book was held high near her face as she walked. She was rather pleased with her good fortune to not be interrupted from it the entire way there. She did pay attention enough to hear the word tea, something she was rather partial to. Part of her knew she should be paying more attention to where she was going but she was sure she would notice in time, or someone would grumble at her to give her a warning.
She heard the door creaking open as selection of sweet, yet earth fragrances floated through. For a split second she was tempted to pause in the book, the temptation from that aroma was hard to ignore. She had always loved cafés when she was alive, the smell of fresh ground coffee, the earthy scent of dozens of different tea leaves being boiled in mugs, the sound the machines made as they prepared the choice of the day. It was heaven for her. But the characters had just gotten into quite the situation and she needed to find a good pausing point first. As her mind was torn between the scent of fresh tea leaves and what cruel fate awaited the hero she missed her squad mate turning to their table. She did not see the chair left slightly sticking out until she bumped it, sending her tumbling forwards. The cherished book went flying out of her hand as she failed to catch herself, sending her into a poor unsuspecting patron. Her frost blue eyes widened as the crash happened.
Ikasu had settled in at a table after a long session of doing upgrades at the academy. Next to him sits his young daughter and subordinate, Tsubaki - also called Tsu-chan, Sue, or Tsutsu. He normally would request a private dining area for some much needed peace while dining, however he had come here on a whim this time and therefore did not give them enough notice to prepare the room. Not that he minded really. After all, he is down to earth - in a manner of speaking - and can be rather friendly. "Tsubaki, you can only pick one sweet. And no, pancakes are not dinner food," he says gently with a chuckle as she points out every sugary food item on the menu. As he looks up to reply to the waitress about their drink order a decently sized hard back novel greets him instead. The blow between the eyes causes his computerized parts to send out a distress signal for a fraction of a second and briefly his prosthetic eyes flash a warning red and then return to their normally blue appearance. "Ack!" He catches the book with his hands and he stares down at it with a puzzled look on his face and a book spine shaped red mark on his forehead. He looks over in the direction of the probably trajectory and looks over at the young woman who has seemed to have body slammed into another patron. Osano. He does not know him personally, but rather by reputation. A heavy drinker, but a functional drunk by his estimation - not that he can't relate to that. He is always drinking something from a flask himself. Still it is more self medication with the flavoring of cocktails in it. "Miss, your book?" he asks as he walks over with it. The look on his face is pleasant, if mildly perturbed by the disturbance of placing his order.
Tsubaki pouts when told that she could not make her meal entirely of sweets. "But if it tastes good how can it not be good for me?" she asks without expecting a reply. She is cutting through the bulk of the conversation and returning to her typical argument for having the sweetest meal she can swing. Her eyes look down toward where Ikasu taps the menu. More sensible boring adult choices. After all, a place like this seldom caters specifically to children's tastes, though plenty are available on the menu scattered throughout it. "Alright ... alright ..." she agrees reluctantly, only to be patted on the head. A waitress wanders over and starts to inquire about their beverage choices and just as her father is about to reply she sees a look of surprise on Ikasu's face and his failed attempt at stopping a large solid object from hitting him right in the face. Upon seeing his eyes flash red for a moment she stands up and squawks, "Papa!" She calms down immediately as he simply takes it in stride. As he walks over with the book to the apparent owner, he gently pats her on her head and she relaxes. She climbs back into her chair and kneels on the seat and watches their interactions curiously. "Miss waitress, I think we might need more time," she says to the waitress, whom nods and head off to tend to other customers. She hops back down out of her seat and follows closely behind Ikasu. "Hi!" she greets the three cheerfully.

He takes a few moments to collect himself and get out of his head before looking around. He sees around him two Shinigami he doesn’t recognize, but he does also see the 9th Division Vice Captain sitting at a table. He stands and runs a hand through his hair before offering his other hand to the Shinigami that had collided with him. “I would offer someone as cute as you some sake, but it appears you might not need it.” His tone is friendly and lighthearted, and he nods towards the gourd at his waist when he says sake. He is clearly not bothered by being collided into. If he hadn’t been so deep in his head, he probably would have noticed and been able to prevent the collision. Oh well, that is what I get for focusing so much in a public place.

XXXTsubaki paled as she heard the thud. Oh dear god please don't be Kit. Looking over, sure enough Kit had run into the seventh seat of the sixth division, knocking him over. To make matters worse, her book, how had she not seen that before, went flying and landed on the head of the twelfth division third seat. Oh dear god. Getting back up, she walked over to the group and looked them over to check that none of them were actually injured and she let out a small breath of relief when she didn't see anything obvious. "I swear this is why I susually avoid public places......" She muttered with a small sigh as she slightly flushed, embarrassed that her newly appointed third seat was already causing problems. "Osano-San, Ikasu-San, I apologise for my third seat. I didn't realize that she had brought her book. That was my oversight. I hope that there are no hard feelings." She said with a small smile, hoping that nobody would be to upset, even if they didn't seem to be. She didn't wish to offend anyone, especially now that she was in charge of the squad until a new captain was appointed. She still wasn't to happy about having been ditched. She had no clue what happened to them. But she was going to have to make the best of it and move forward.
