"Well... It, um, would be rather awkward to get, uh, proof... Wouldn't it? Um. Surely kind of... impossible?" Her eyes widened and she put up a hand, shaking her head quickly.
"Oh, no, no... It's just... Uh. Not something I, uh, thought people really discussed like that, is all..."

<< I think Hayes probably does some screwing. He is part of tech so sometimes he surely most have to open computers and computers do have screws.>> Franklin put in, helpfully; she hadn't met Hayes, but she understood what department he was in, and what they did.

"Oh no, Hayes is a programmer so he just plays with his software all day," KO informed Franklin with a smirk and a raise of one eyebrow. He then turned to Tambery and shrugged, still smirking. "I suppose you must keep better company than I do, that's the sort of thing we talk about all the time. What's more fun than speculating about the love lives - and general tragedies - of the Elites? We must have some entertainment after all." Like that split between Executives Seth and Nadja, and how Seth then got demoted back to Elite... Or was it before that he got demoted? Oh well, either way it had been wonderfully juicy with just enough detail to tantalize but not enough to stop anyone having fun with theories. KO's personal theory was that the angry former head of tech had been a disappointment in the bedroom.

"Mhm. Different, uh, part of tech." Tambrey confirmed to Franklin, who didn't look convinced... and now continued to stare at KO.

<< Then who fixes the insides of computers? Computers have code inside.>>

"Um... I, uh..." The truth was she didn't actually keep a lot of company. There just never much seemed time now. "Guess so..."
She also, certainly, did feel something for Aulus, but it wasn't anything she was going to admit to, or act on, or even admit to herself; one, he was pretty much her best friend now, and two, there was Rory... She slightly suspected those priorities were a /little/ out of order there, but still...
"I, um, guess I don't gossip very much any more anyway..."
PostPosted: Fri Jul 24, 2015 4:54 pm

"Computers have components inside, that's hardware...." KO paused for a moment to think before continuing to; "Basically a hardware person will deal with the physical stuff, whereas a programmer deals with what makes it go. Like the difference between a physician and a psychiatrist, if you follow?"

KO then turned to Tambery and tilted his head on one side. "Well you should start up again then, or something relaxing anyway. You look tired. Ooh, I know, we can go for a little spa treatment before our night out. I know I could do with it and it's more fun with company."

<> Franklin did -not- like not knowing things. She liked being told things by a 'dead' human even less... It just didn't make any sense, as much as it was embarrassing not to know something.

The scientist gave a rueful smile.
"Tired? I'd, um, comment about being told that by someone who just came back from the dead but... You do not look bad to be honest. A spa could be nice. Would be nice. I don't remember the last time I went to one actually..." It would mean trimming away /more/ work but it was such a tempting thing... and now KO was... well... back...

"A few hours of proper relaxation make one much more efficient at work," KO said, pressing forward now that he had his foot in the door as it were. "Relaxation is like, oh, say an engine's radiator. If you don't chill out, you're going to overheat and break down on the side of the road somewhere. Manicure, pedicure, facial, and maybe a massage. What do you say?" So long as he just went with a back massage he could avoid showing the loathsome new scar on his chest, and he wasn't even sure that Tambery would go for one at all anyway.

Well that was true...
There were studies to prove so as well, though she couldn't think of any from the top of her head at that moment...
Her eyebrow quirked slightly as the comparison to a car, but she supposed it probably held up; she just didn't know all that much about cars. It /sounded/ right anyway...

"Those sound very... enjoyable. And something relaxing. I haven't... Have not relaxed since we got back from the mission, honestly. I've, um, been slow healing... I know it's because I haven't 'stopped' but there just seemed like so much to do, and then days off were spent hiking or training or completing some other task..."

"Well that sounds remarkably unwise," KO replied with a shake of his head, moving closer to Tambery again to take a closer look at her. "Mmh, you look as tired as I feel." Tam was a hard worker but not, in his experience, to the point that it affected her health. "So what's brought this on then?" he asked, tilting his head slightly to one side with a small frown of concern and an unfamiliar, uncomfortable feeling somewhere in the pit of his stomach. Since the mission, she said. Was this something to do with him? Not like it was his fault, he hadn't meant to nearly die and it could have been any of them but....

"Umm..." How to answer that? He'd been -dead- (or, well, they'd thought so anyway)... People had been injured... The more she worked, the more she perfected things, helped the team, the safer they might become... She'd needed, still needed, more knowledge, more skills, to be -better- at everything.
Ella could mega evolve now; could take more punishment if needed, was stronger... Her team was becoming tougher, and she'd been working hard to try and be the best she could at everything...
It just left her tired out, slow to heal, and had been splintering her focus... It had just seemed right, however... She didn't like losing people.

"Just. Felt like I needed to.. get things done. Um. Get better at things. It -has- paid off though; Ella can mega evolve now."
PostPosted: Sat Jul 25, 2015 9:44 am

"Well that's an evasive answer, I'll take it though," KO replied with a faint smile that didn't reach his eyes and a shake of his head. He knew he didn't like people prying into his business; she'd share more at some other time if she wanted to and as he didn't know what to do with most honest emotions anyway it was probably for the best.

"Good for you an Ella though!" KO continued, his tone lightening up as they shifted away from more serious topics. "You'll have to show me one day; mega Aggron is quite impressive I gather. Perhaps I'll manage to get a mega stone for myself one day... though I'd have to look into which of my pokemon can actually mega evolve. Sharpeado can, but I'm still a little... wary of Baron, so I can't see that working out."

"Sorry..." Tambrey didn't deny it was kind of evasive; he -had- just apparently come back from the dead, and she wasn't sure about what she was dealing with here, or if he was still injured enough that guilt was a bad thing or... just anything... Maybe he wouldn't feel guilty about being part of the cause of staying up, researching things like the 'afterlife' but even so, she was happier answering as she had.

"Oh! Yes! She was, um, really impressive and... well, it's, um, about bonding, so I suppose if you're wary around a pokémon then... clearly you don't trust them so they won't mega evolve..."
PostPosted: Sat Jul 25, 2015 10:14 am

KO shrugged and sighed. "I figured as much, maybe we'll get there one day. I wish I knew how it worked though, if there was something we could create to stimulate the change artificially... or make it permanent. Now that would be quite something." Having such power at your disposal all the time and without the need for any of that bonding hassle would be very useful indeed, a great asset to the Team. "Something to think about as we learn more about it perhaps."

"It's very interesting. Quite a neat study, but ridiculously unscientific in current, um, understanding... Having been... a, uh, component in a mega evolution, I can say it feels very strange. Hard to, um, describe. I wondered if it could be a reaction, or related, to a combination of radiation and Oxytocin levels... It, um, would be useful to have it 'on tap', though."
PostPosted: Sat Jul 25, 2015 10:30 am

"There's got to be a way to do it," KO replied with a nod; very useful indeed. "And if it's about bonds of trust then it would make sense for Oxytocin to be involved. If that's so however it means that a keystone and mega stone can detect that somehow and without necessarily even being in contact with skin, or scale, or whatever else."

Tambrey nodded.
"Well... Um... Not necessarily... We know that psychic type pokémon and attacks exist, and, um, they basically work without physically acting upon anything... So. What if there's a similar kind... well, energy field present between keystone and mega stone? It could be ever present, only presenting an effect when the radiation encounters and reacts with the correct hormone levels? Um, a sort of... quantum effect, as it were..." She pondered if Rocket had any scientists specializing in the quantum effects of pokémon... They'd be useful in a three way collaboration on the subject... Bio, chem, quantum... She was sure the answers lay across all three...
