A few days ago, Josiah got an invite to the first ball of the debutante season. Yet a part of him did not want to go as it was for one of Lords in the House that he didn't care for. They were always on the opposites side of the issues at hand. 'Even if I do like his daughter, it will be hard to enjoy his company. Yet again, you can't choose who your parents are, most of the time.' He thought to himself as his carriage join the que of other carriages that was arriving the estate.

Sooner than later, his carriage reached the spot and got out to go inside the house. Then led into the ball room and was announced as custom dictated. When he went over to greet the Lord and his Lady, he was taken back a little as he realized that these were Marlena's parents. The three were standing together greeting guests. He recovered quickly before heading to them for the meet and greet.
